  1. The present Cabinet of Barbados,ably assisted by the GoCBB are the biggest bank robbers in the history of Barbados.Such will be their legacy and if Trevor Marshall has anyhing to do with it in his old age when in a bliss of solitude they flash upon that inward eye,the story will be told with such devastating accuracy that the comment made by a man who did a first degree in history at Cave Hill yet showed he had no sense of history of his own country.
    When an attorney so called can admit that he knew little of the Jewish synagogue in Synagogue Lane in the City and practically contiguous to the Law Courts situate for many years at Coleridge Street and where one presumes this attorney would traverse regularly in the course of his calling,is it rocket science to conclude firstly that he is no real historian or at worse that he did not get much work as an attorney and therefore not familiar with the imposing building called the Synagogue.
    Why he is of such an age that he should recall when that same building was used as law offices.But then he is a country boy and en noah tung.

    Owen wants the CB head fired by another crook PM Fumble the Crook , liar and scumbag and vote buyer.
    Now they will do the dance to see that Owen and the Murder MIA was crooking the People of Barbados with VAT from 1997 when VAT and UDC came to Life to Launder money and Land,

  4. Plantation Deeds: I, along with others are having difficult times trying to understand your modus operandi regarding your constant griping about land. What is amazing is your blaming of every politician, every lawyer, every judge. Tell me who de hell you are going to blame next. Every post you jump in with this deed issue. Don’t you think that if you had some merit in your ownership of all these properties, some honest lawyer would have jump in and assisted you. Maybe we will have to change the name from Barbados to Beckles Island. If you blame the world, who will assist you since you feel that everybody in Barbados with the exception of yourself are blatant thieves. Stop confusing the blogs with non transparent accusations

    The Jewish Synagogue in Synagogue Lane in the City is an architectural gem, its interior restoration is exquisite and its cemetery a historical record.

    I would suggest the man who did a first degree in history at Cave Hill yet showed he had no sense of history of his own country brush on his history by visiting:

    http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/vjw/barbados.html

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nidhe_Israel_Synagogue

    Or even visiting:

    http://www.barbados.org/jewish.htm#.U2z6cFzfaRZ
    Bridgetown Jewish Synagogue

    From which I cut and paste

    One of the Barbados.org’s “Seven Wonders Of Barbados!”

    There is currently one synagogue situated in Bridgetown. Built in the 17th century (1654) it was destroyed by hurricane in 1831, was rebuilt, fell into disrepair and was sold in 1929.

    In 1983, it was bought back by the Jewish community and was restored to its present state with its beautiful Gothic arches, and is now a Barbados National Trust protected building and an active synagogue.

    Located next to the synagogue is the Nidhe Israel Museum.

    About 300 Jewish people of Recife, Brazil, persecuted by the Dutch, settled in Barbados in the 1660’s. Skilled in the sugar industry, they quickly introduced the crop and passed on their skills in cultivation and production to the Barbados land owners.

    With their help Barbados went on to become one of the world’s major sugar producers.

    The synagogue is located within the World Heritage Site – Historic Bridgetown and Its Garrison.

    Only a few can understand , because you dont ? Wait till you get it ,
    We dont Blame every lawyer and we dont call all name , We have about 63 names and it can be another 63 that was on the other side,another 63 that will know and say nothing and another 63 to say we not in that

    The Judges were lawyers 20 years ago with their papers still in effect and when come before them they just rule on they own paper work from the past. ” blaming of every politician”@ well skipper , I met most of them , they will say the truth to your face and go back in the dark and then act like they know nothing. Some one controls them even the once who to be good.They know me and even the police know what we say and see what when have.
    merit @ We have more than merit , just when dealing with crooks that holds the LAW hostage we have to keep at them , they need no rest or sleep.
    I have friends who are lawyers after looking at it , they dont repeat a word, Remember they also were making deeds base on fraud unknowing to them to what was going on till now, For them now to admit and undo the deeds will be hell for them , Lawyers in Barbados are Mason, and those who are not Masons have their lawyers Code , Lawyers first oath is to the Queen, then to other lawyers, then to Family and the client is the last that he gives a shit about..I hope you can read between the lines.

    We dont blame everyone , If you go back to 14th Dec 2012 you may get the idea , If you are new to the Blog , Just sit back and watch the Show,

    The rats are moving good, and when you see all things line up you will know better
    Just think if all what we post and say is True,What does that mean ?
    If We hold deeds for more land than COW is to own , Who pays the bill by way of fraud , Remember Madoff and Standford was doing there thing for 30 years or more and now doing Life in jail, many of these same people have links to the same crooks in Barbados and TnT , Watch TnT its a sign of things to come , lawyers on the run and now the ones in BIM want protection? Why?, Think More and you will see the light .

    Does Clyde Mascoll write Albert Branford’s Sunday column?

    How come a former BLP senator and minister was chosen to write on Sundays with so many other persons around who are independently minded?

    How come Caswell Franklyn told the blog that the Nation told him not to write on political matters but now his column is political every week. Why the change in policy? Could it be because he is singing a song that the BLP likes?

    Why is Mia Mottley’s political adviser writing in The Nation and moderating on VOB weekly?

    How come VOB Sunday Brasstacks chooses the BLP spokesman to “educate” the public on the economy when we have so many other economists in Barbados with doctorates and who were writing theses before Mascoll could write his name?

    Questions for the Nelson Street of Barbados journalism ,the Nation newspaper and its management that continue to prostitute themselves on BLP’s political street corners.

    The BLP dont not want to go to the Polls , for a 3rd group have no ties to their lies and will spill over the RATS .Think of all the things that will be said on the floor of the HOUSE, On TV and radio, MIA and Owen to jail being charged on the floor .

    NationBLPnewspaper, you is nuff shiite……. hear.

  13. In the Weekend Nation Newspaper of Friday, May 9, 2014, it reported “that former prime minister Owen Arthur has accused the Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados (Dr Delisle Worrell) of creating more uncertainty by discrediting the role and importance the value added tax (VAT) has played in the Barbados economy”.

    The newspaper went on to further report that Arthur said: “that there is no evidence that the VAT has been the source of our problems, if anything the VAT has more than performed at what is expected of it”.

    Now in the Daily Nation of Thursday, May 8, 2014, it was stated that Dr Worrell remarked: “I have always said that the value added tax is an inappropriate tax….. for any tourism island and it is an inappropriate for an economy where you do not use your own raw materials; your raw materials are imported. It has absolutely no advantages for us and it is a complicated tax to operate……It creates all kinds of controversy (determining) what you exempt and what you don’t exempt and so on. It is a mess”.

    Furthermore, the newspaper quotes Dr Worrell as having said: “You are supposed to calculate on the basis of the basic price…..without the VAT and then you are supposed to charge the VAT on the price which does not include the VAT on any of the things that you have purchased. But nobody in Barbados does that, so in fact what we have is not a VAT, it is a sales tax because a VAT is not supposed to cascade and that is cascading”.

    Now in the same Weekend Nation Newspaper of Friday, May 9, 2014, there is, what can be interpreted by the PDC as, a call by the letter writer (Mr Leonard St. Hill) for the Abolition of the VAT and personal income taxes, but the retention of taxation of corporate profits and a selective tax on spending, et al.

    Well, in as much as the PDC will NOT get into debates between persons or groups of persons, in Barbados, who are for the continued imposition by DLP/BLP governments of evil wicked anti-masses, anti-masses, anti-people productive TAXES on the remunerations of the relevant persons, businesses and other entities in this country, while at the same time still calling for the removal and or retention of some of these same evil wicked anti-masses, anti-middle classes, anti-people, anti-productive TAXES – as is the reported cases with Dr Worrell, Leonard St. Hill, Senator Tony Marshall, etc., we are very cognizant of the fact that they have NOT placed and will NEVER place their very loose very specious arguments in a wider and deeper well thought out, coherent ideological theoretical framework – which – in the absence of doing so – clearly shows that TAXATION is pure unadulterated mass THEFT ROBBERY by the government of the relevant portions of the relevant remunerations of the relevant persons, businesses and other entities of this country.

    For instance, in the reported case of Arthur above, he does not point out where is this value added. Where is it? In the reported instance of Worrell above, he does not point to what is price. What is price? And in alleged case of St. Hill, he too does not point to what is corporate profits. What are profits? Huh? Does St. Hill realize that there is a massive and illogical contradiction between spending and TAXES??

    At the end of the day no amount of stupid intellectual psychological ruses schemes by grossly incompetent and inept DLP/BLP governments of this country and so-called economists, whenever, will be enough to hide the real and true facts that TAXATION is THEFT, fundamentally because of the fact too that it only takes so little of a very evil, atavistic, base and depreciated thinking and psychology of a certain few human beings, and the application by them of such in the particular circumstances, to STEAL/ROB, and to describe and explain it too.

    Indeed, a certain future coalitional regime of this country – and of which the PDC shall be part – shall make sure that TAXATION is abolished in this country.

  15. For a country facing a deteriorating competitive position, a depreciation of its exchange rate acts as a safety valve. When that is not available, its prices and costs cannot adjust downward relative to those of competitors in other countries. Unemployment results which fosters serious social tensions. If our tourism product is not competitive, what is going to happen?

    You neglect one major and salient point which I would like you to answer :

    While Reudon Eversley and Hartley Henry et al were writing, there was always a BLP mouthpiece present to counter. EZRA ALLEYNE was given a column every Friday which served one purpose – to put the BLP perspective and spin the news for Owen Arthur.

    Can you show me the columnists employed by the Nation BLP Newspaper who are given that platform to support the government?

    I deal with facts not the hollow partisan emotion which you are displaying.
    I will wait for your answer. Interestingly, not one of the “DLP writers” you mentioned above has been retained by the Nation newspaper EXCEPT for the one who is now advising Mia Mottley and speaking at the BLP assemblies (Mr. Wickham).
    Meanwhile EZRA ALLEYNE is still writing in the Nation BLP Newspaper. Coincidence?

  18. NationBLPnewspaper Avatar

    Peter Wickham and Albert Brandford – serve one purpose on Sundays, week after week – to criticize the government .
    That is their opinion and right but you are telling me that out of the many thousands of other capable writers out there who are willing to contribute that the Nation BLP newspaper can only find BLP supporters to write commentary in their paper.

    That is why the Nation newspaper is called the Nation BLP Newspaper because it is functioning as a public relations arm of the BLP.

  20. @ NationBLPnewspaper

    “I deal with facts not the hollow partisan emotion which you are displaying.”

    That my friend… is bare shiite. If you were indeed dealing “with facts not the hollow partisan emotion”, you would have been a bit more balanced. For example, you would also have taken issue with:

    • The partisan manner in which CBC’s call-in program “Talk ya Talk” is being conducted, whereby supporters of the DLP are given latitude to develop their points, while persons with another view are shouted off the program by the ONLY two moderators on the show;
    • That Maureen Holder & John Lovell have relayed to all and sundry that they support the DLP;
    • The unprofessional and biased towards the DLP manner in which Maureen Holder & John Lovell moderates the program; and the fact that both are rude and uncouth;
    • The way CBC TV8 evening news is being presented…… in favour of the DLP;
    • How this present administration is using CBC and the Government Information Service to promote their propaganda;
    • That out of the hundreds of lawyers in Barbados…the only lawyers CBC can give to give advice on legal matters are Hal Gollop (who has been seen in the company of the PM and at every DLP “cock fight”), Verla De Peiza, the DLP candidate for Christ Church West, and R. E Guyson Mayers, former Chairman of RDC and one who also expressed an interest in contesting the St. Joseph seat for the DLP;
    • The same way you perceive the Nation as being biased towards the BLP… the Advocate can be seen the same way towards the DLP, since MANY of their columnists are pro DLP;

    My friend…… week after week you coming with the same shiite…… “hollow partisan emotion” shiite. You have constantly stated that the Nation is biased towards the BLP and you have absolutely no problem with the Advocate displaying a similar bias for the DLP…

    Is this is not “hollow partisan emotion which you are displaying”?

    Since you seem so repetitively knowledgeable about everything and everyone maybe you are in a position to tell BU why Reudon and Hartley no longer comment favourably about your faultless DLP administration.

    We can understand why Peter would withdraw his support for Fumble but Eversley and Henry remain a puzzle.
    What would you say if both are given columns in your much styled BLPNationNeswpaper?

    We shall soon see if your contributions continue under the same pseudonym after the Crop-over season as harsh economic realities set in and the heat of devaluation intensifies. That would put you right at the start of the 18 months period you were given to stew in your lies and deceit and the implosion of your administration begins to manifest.

    You can always get Jepter Ince to write a paper justifying the need to devalue the dollar and the economic benefits expected there from.

  22. Nation BLP:

    If you full up the Nation with BLP and DLPpolitical hacks, who is going to buying the political filth, not me!! By the way, do not send AC!!

  23. A fair observer must agree with NationBLPnewspaper.
    Newspapers around the world tend to side with a political party that fits their philosophy. The new York Times here in New York editorially leans to the Democratic Party as opposed to the Republicans. The difference is that the NYT also engages a variety of writers to put the case of the Republicans as well. This doesn’t occur with the Nation whose editorialists and columnists are either card carrying BLP members or unashamedly slant their articles to favor the BLP. Even the hard news which should not be editorialized is frequently slanted to needle and hurt the ruling party. A classic example is the blaring headlines that 60 people will be sent home from the Central Bank when the Governor never made such an affirmative statement.

    To the names NationBLPnewspaper lists one should add a Tennyson Joseph. Having read a bit of his crap he not only tries to disrespect the ruling party but he disrespects Barbados and Barbadians with impunity. Apparently he is from one of the low islands but is afforded a golden opportunity by the dodgy patriotism or lack of at the Nation to attack Barbados and Barbadians. All the while he is lazing about as a tutor at Cave Hill collecting money from Bajan taxpayers. He should be deported forthwith. The Nation should make an attempt to balance their political cheer leading for the BLP by engaging a coterie of pro DLP writers and columnists.

  24. @ NationBLPnewspaper

    “Can you show me the columnists employed by the Nation BLP Newspaper who are given that platform to support the government?”

    From the time this administration was elected to office, they decided not to co-operate with the Nation. It went to such an extent that one morning a lady called Larry Mayers to ask his opinion on an article in the Nation, to which he replied management has forbidden them to comment on anything in the Nation or to read anything from the Nation on air. Check the recent comments by the AG, Adriel Brathwaite at a forum, at which he publically stated the Nation hates the DLP. It is only recently that the DLP has returned to using the Nation’s advertising services.

    With that childish attitude (which by chance is similar to the one you are constantly displaying), do you expect any of your DLP supporters to accept any offer to write a column in the Nation. Even if you heard the comments by the AG, Adriel Brathwaite at a recently held forum, at which he publically stated that the Nation hates the DLP. It is only recently that the DLP has returned to using the Nation’s advertising services.

    You guys need to grow up.

  25. Twin Towers

    The owner or owners of the newspapers usually lean to a specific political worldview, but that does not suggested in any meaningful way that the employees of that particular newspaper establishment do likewise.

  26. @ Twin Towers | May 11, 2014 at 8:38 AM |

    I hope you express the same sentiments about the Advocate.

    “To the names NationBLPnewspaper lists one should add a Tennyson Joseph. Yes, Tennyson Joseph is from one of the “low islands”…… St. Lucia to be exact, and I agree that he has been “afforded a golden opportunity by the dodgy patriotism or lack of at the Nation to attack Barbados and Barbadians; all the while he is lazing about as a tutor at Cave Hill collecting money from Bajan taxpayers.”

    But Mr. Towers….. is not Mara Thompson, MP for St. John not from the “low island” of St. Lucia as well? Has she not been afforded a golden opportunity by the dodgy DLP patriotism of voters like you, to attack Barbados and Barbadians, all the while she is lazing about as a member of parliament “collecting money from Bajan taxpayers”?

    You are so uncomfortable with Joseph’s attack on Barbadians because, in your view, he being a BLP foreigner has no right to attack Bajans… but Mara Thompson, a DLP foreigner has the right to criticize Bajans.

    I guess your justification of her behavior is that it matters not who are the Barbadians she attacks, unless they are BLP supporters.

  27. The Governor has spoken in the matter of the Central Vs the Nation newspaper. The Nation newspaper as always gone for sensationalism and its headline 69 to GO was no departure but the question is if the Governor’s decision not invite Nation reporters to its press conference is draconian. The discussion must take off against the background the Nation has the widest circulation in Barbados.

    I am no friend of Peter Wickham, but he has made the point that Bajans must be very careful when we get caught up in this kind of small minded political view of life and the Caribbean.

    The DLP wanted to throw Owen out of Barbados for his position on Mara being in our House of Assembly, but you have the gall to spout forth this small minded political filth here. Why wouldn’t one be convince that the Nation Newspaper supports the BLP? When several years ago the former CID detective and former Nation Newspaper Journalist Wade Gibbons, wrote an article featuring Owen Arthur, that Arthur didn’t take to kindly to. So, Wade Gibbons was booted through the door with a quick dispatch. I am sure David knows what I am talking about because just after his termination, Mr. Gibbons posted his resentment against the chief editor at the Nation Newspaper on BU at the time.

  35. @ Dompey | May 11, 2014 at 9:41 AM |

    “Why wouldn’t one be convince that the Nation Newspaper supports the BLP?”

    You guys are not getting the fundamental point…. you are focusing too much on whether or not the Nation newspaper supports the BLP, instead of examining the issue with media as a whole. There was a time prior to 2008, that the Nation and VOB were seen as pro DLP, in that numerous supporters used both media with the help of journalist, columnists and moderators, to effectively put some warm lashes in the then BLP administration.

    I remember the days of VOB call-in programs when DLP supporters lined up one after the other to serve some stringing attacks on the BLP, ably assisted by moderators like Maxine McClean, Tony Marshall, Ralph Jemmott and Akintoolove Corbin in taking the fight to the BLP. To people like Dompey, ac and Twin Towers, the Nation and VOB were the best things since sliced bread.
    Now the tables have apparently turned….. i.e. the modus operandi is similar, but this time around against the DLP, these party hacks have a problem.

    You people are hypocrites!!!!!

    But he must come prepared to debate the issue of Devaluation. After all, he was last seen running away from the BU game show mumbling anti-DLP invectives and carrying a yellow flag that read: “The Barbados dollar is woefully overvalued and in need of a serious correction”.

    Let Carson Cadogan return to BU and explain himself since neither the worried Guv Worrell nor the ventriloquist puppet MoF seems capable to stopping CCC’s words from coming true.

  39. looka miller ac got nuff nuff tongue lashing pre elections,,,ac stood the course and ac was right,,,,,ac now watching how the BLP so desperate that they have now drag out the spent force OSA to put he two cents in about the VAT,,,,,,,,,don;t yuh see how foolish wunna sound day after day convincing wunna self that the dollar going devalue,,, that the whole of barbados must be privatized,,,,not even the great economist have so far said anything to garner support about the measures being implementing to save the country from free falll,,,, however he choose to pick the low hanging fruit of VAT a tax which he implemented on the backs of people,,,,

  40. ac
    Don’t be a jackass, the GOCB is stark raving mad man who would only destroy what little is live of the bajan economy if he is given the chance. He is a effect example what you should never put an IDIOT to do a man job no matter his political affliation.

    He is an certifiable outpatient of the looney bin.

  41. @Twin Towers | May 11, 2014 at 8:38 AM |
    The new York Times here in New York editorially leans to the Democratic Party as opposed to the Republicans. The difference is that the NYT also engages a variety of writers to put the case of the Republicans as well……………………….

    You serious? Which NYT engages writers to put Republicans’ case? NYT is a wholesale partisan Democrat party newspaper whose partisanship has it in deep financial trouble! Even if they deign to put a good word in, it would be buried deep in the last pages!
    You are deceiving BU readers!

  42. Twin Towers aka Waiting, the spin continues.

  43. David:

    I thought “Exclaimer” was “Waiting” but now he or she is “Twin Towers.” This becoming confusing!!

  44. If I had to write that Page one Editorial for the Nation today, all I would have told the governor of the Central Bank is………….”.the Nation will still be around when you are no longer governor. We will be there without an invitation to take your picture on the day you are no longer governor and going through the door. Until then, you have a right to ban us……we will get the last laugh when you have to join the minister of finance to announce the devaluation.” You joker.

    The governor is only ashamed because he is presiding over a failed economy because make no bones about it, he is the one running this economy and that for the past three years he has presided over a bank which has recorded losses while commercial banks are awashed with money and making record profits.

    The governor is just angry that he got caught in his deceit…………staff of the bank know that there is a list already drawn up and the staff are saying that they hope that the governor’s name is number one on the list. Sixty is the number that staff say has been bandied about, the staff are angry and moral is at the lowest ebb. The only people happy there maybe the press person and the governor………..no wonder they brought in the man to “reimagine” things. Have we not be saying that something is wrong with the governor!

  45. What the Governor has done is to make an ‘adversary’ of a newspaper with the largest circulation in Barbados. Let us see how it plays out.

  46. David:

    That puzzled me. How do you fly in the face of the media that has been making you look good all this time. It is like the DLPites here when the comments here are favoring the DLP all is wonderful, but when that changes, the whole world should censored.

  47. @Lemuel

    BU has been around with both administrations in office and what is common is when the honeymoon fades the sitting administration goes hostile. The DLP is running through true to form.

  48. David:

    I hear you.

  49. f..ck pizza what a name,,,,,,pillsbury dough boy u ought to stick to meking pizza or eating pizza,,,,u no economist,,,,,,,,,, just another two faced hypocrite always talking about tax burden and the govt imposing taxes….now the govenor believes a more feasible and fair alternative than vat can do better ,,jerks like u talking ….pup,,,,,,,,oSA not a god ,,he aint have the last or final word on any economy,,,, most of the time ,,trial and error is the decider on how to plan and implement policies more like a lesson learned from past successes and failures nothing in economics is sealed proof…things can be altered or change according to movements or trends,,,,,highs and lows are the normal,,,maybe the govenor is right the vat has run its course and maybe it is time govt look at a better and fairer tax moving forward,,,,,OSA my a,ssss

  50. But David, why do they need to get hostile?

    The DLP had literally f..upped this country by their wrong headed policies and their arrogance. People say they went off the cliff when DT got sick but I am not convinced that things would have been any different were DT still alive as he outsourced every major economic position and was only a CEO.

    The DLP was warned from early after their first budget in 2008 that their taxation policies were wrong. They cursed everyone off. When Alex McDonald said recently that people are afraid to speak out…………right out of the blocks came Donville Inniss who called Alex at home to cuss him off……thus proving Alex’s point. George Bell spoke out at a BLP assembly, he was being checked for contravening the public order act. Now we have a man who is supposed to be dealing over with the country’s finances and he disdainfully issues a ban on a newspaper.

    What is he going to do? Send home 59 persons instead of 60 so as to prove the Nation wrong. I wonder what Harold Hoyte is saying now……….he must be in a daze to see what his party is doing to his newspaper, his baby!
