  1. King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)

“And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind (gay, lesbian)?”

Living long has its advantages and its disadvantages.

Time supposedly allows you to “see” and sometimes “understand” things but equally so, the shell that one occupies, its rate of decay sometimes brings with it ignominy, “adult pampers, alzheimers, once a man and twice a child playing out in our lives, as He so wills.

I have had time to reflect on my homophobia in Bulbados ( a word I use in my weaker, sarcastic moments) but, every once in a while, when i encounter ***, beloved offspring of ***, lovable, caring, intelligent etc, my homophobia, and its attendant detesting, falters and I have serious challenges with the “no man shall lie down with a man, nor woman with a woman” instruct

What sin did *** do in some life past that has manifest itself in this “deviant” behaviour that my Old Testament calls for death but my Lord Christ (seems to) respond and say “Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.”

If i were born in another clime would I be more charitable and have a more receptive concept because I had imbibed the words of Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita (Chapter 4 verse 5). “Many lives, Arjuna, you and I have lived. I remember them all, but thou dost not” and consequently ascribe some greater motive to this “deviant?” act or have a more liberal view?

Add the fact that two men can marry and two women to this and it places even greater pressure on how on the one hand you have love for your offspring and on the other hand, when you are dealing with other people, you revert to what you have been taught that it is an abomination.

Being as I am, conditioned irrevocably between the training of my youth, and the reality of “blood encounter”, I have no choice than sit out on this one, and accept the anomaly/deviancy with great concern, discouraging its practice, asking its practitioners to demand the intervention of My God in their lives, while continuing to take solace in my Master’s words “For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. Matthew 22. 23-28

  2. Tutu, is living in a fool’s paradise. While we would want that no part of the human family is ‘unfaired’ Tutu must come to the truism that the people he is so stalwartly defending are no innocence. When HIV/AIDS was a problems for Whites they Actedup and brought the world to a standstill but now the same disease is killing mainly Black young women in the inner cities of the USA not a word is heard from the racist White gay activist community. Race first!

Tutu irrational crusade to impose White deviant culture on the Mother of us all is a crime bigger than Apartheid.

  3. @Pacha

Is Tutu staying true to the dogma of religion?

  4. @ David

We are against both his religion and his failure to put race first.

  5. Matthew 7:22, 23
    King James Version (KJV)

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

  6. @Piece Uh De Rock. You really are quite a man. That was sensitive and beautifully stated. You held to your own views and mores without once condemning those of others. Barbados, frankly, could use a lot more people like you. Hats off to you, sir.

When I was young, I was intolerant of any ideas that departed from what I had been taught to believe. Now I am old, life’s (sometimes bitter and sometimes happy and sometimes in between) experience has taught me that much (not all) that my parents held true was, in fact, suspect, if not completely false. But that was not their fault. Not only were they the creatures of their time and society, but the education that comes with travel and immersion in other countries and cultures, was, for the most part, denied them – or it came too late in life for them to fully embrace and understand and profit by it. I find now that almost all my preconceptions of youth have been either rejected or seriously amended by life experience. But I daresay that history will repeat itself in the case of my descents and that many of my fixed ideas will be rejected by them in the light of their own experience. But age, like you, my most respected friend, has taught me the simple truth that there are no absolutes and nothing is cast in stone.

Some of BU’s readers may have read all about it, but Pope Francis, because of the scandal-hit Vatican Bank, elected a well-respected prelate of the Roman Catholic faith to head up a commission of inquiry to sort out the mess and corruption that is the Vatican Bank. However, within weeks it was revealed and proved by the Italian press that this prelate was not only head of the very powerful “gay lobby” within the Vatican, but he was also the head of a homosexual rent boy business (read gay brothel) operating out of the Vatican.

Then, there is the case of the Cardinal Archbishop of Edinburgh who, for many years, was the most vociferous and outspoken anti-gay priest in the United Kingdom. BUT, on the eve of the conclave that elected Pope Francis, he was forced to resign because he had made, OVER MANY YEARS, improper sexual advances to at least four young priests. And he admitted his guilt. The sheer hypocrisy of his condemnation of homosexuality at the same time that he was practicing it, will not be lost on the BU family. And I won’t even go into the gay child abuse scandals that have rocked the RC world.

The Church of England also is replete with openly and actively gay priests. Indeed, in Barbados we, most of us, have known who they were since the Island was first populated. But the Church of England has never been as stringent about homosexuality as the Roman Catholics and, indeed, while officially disapproving, have also officially done nothing. What beggars belief is that the Anglican religion will allow gay (and female) priests (as long as the gay ones, even if in a civil partnership, do not have sex and the Church apparently takes their word that they are celibate) but they may not be ordained as bishops – go figure. But then again, perpetuating the same peculiar standards, women priests may also not be ordained as bishops, even though the supreme governor of the C of E is a woman.

So, in answer to David’s question, “Is Tutu staying true to the dogma of religion?” apparently he is not staying true to the dogma, but to the practice.

Anyway, for those of us who have gay relatives and have learned that there is nothing wrong with them and that they are merely playing the hands they were dealt at birth and living loving and productive lives, Desmond Tutu is a beacon of light and may God bless him.

  7. What is the purpose of attacking TUTU on this issue that affects every race no matter their ethnicity.. .i believe his purpose now is one of influence sending a message and a reminder to all black nations that WE as a people should not be intoleant of others despite of the way we were treated..As black nations truggled with this issue his voice is a much needed welcomed in helping those countries leaders confront this issue reallistically in pursuit of change

  8. I view sexism and racism as one and the same; the feeling that one individual holds for another that renders the other inferior. Sexism and Racism have nothing to do with hate, but every thing to do with degrees of contempt. I may love my wife and my daughters to death, I may respect them but I have need to protect them for I believe them not capable of doing so for themselves.

Homophobic behavior is to my mind something different since it introduces a “disgust” element which is difficult, near impossible to root out. As Amused said, these people are born like this and I have NO choice but to RESPECT them as EQUAL human beings, and yes even though I am uncomfortable with the practice among males in particular.

  9. Piece

Yes thankyou for a very sensitive account.

Like John Mortimer I also came to conclusions about gay people by interaction with friends and, I suppose, by reading Proust in my late teens.

In much older age my conclusion is that gay people have absolutely nothing to apologize for. Like Old Onions burning the Koran, and Tutu,
I would prefer to burn the Bible than feel bound by it on this issue…..assuming, of course, that it actually means what anti-gay people say it means – a position which I don’t accept anyway.

  10. @ac. Beautifully said. Deeply moving, in fact.

@Baffy. Careful. Your philosopher like it taking over. “Sexism and Racism have nothing to do with hate, but every thing to do with degrees of contempt.” You are absolutely right on target. And yes, about the disgust element as well – but that is a private matter as I am sure you have decided. I did see a T shirt last time I was in the UK, on which the wearer (a man) asked to be smothered in choclate sauce and then subjected to the ministration of two lesbians.

  11. Amused

    … Ughh!

  12. Wanna people is really something else….
…talk about building straw men to burn… There is a big difference between hating Gays and recognizing that homosexuality is an abomination. These are completely mutually exclusive issues, yet positions are taken as if the two are one.

    @Amused
You are no doubt aware that many other psychological and physiological disorders that affect humanity are the results of “accidents of birth”.
Many mass murderers, sexual predators, violent sadist and repeat criminals are the way they are, due to ‘accidents of birth’.

THIS DOES TO MAKE THEIR CRIMES OK, nor is it reasonable to suggest that “there is nothing wrong with them and that they are merely playing the hands they were dealt at birth”.

The fact that yours or Bushie’s relative is so afflicted does not change the FACT that an abomination is an abomination.

Children are born with cruel diseases every day, which affect their future in drastic ways. IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT, and we love them even more as a result. HOWEVER, we do not accept the condition as “NORMAL”……we seek causes, we research reasons and we institute CORRECTIVE actions so that future children are nor similarly afflicted.

Gays are NOT to be hated or despised, just like victims of polio should not have been, but just as we did not accept polio to be NORMAL and to be ACCEPTABLE, but saw it as an abomination to be researched and CURED for future children, we would be well advised to seek the CAUSES of this serious affliction and institute appropriate CORRECTIVE actions in the interest of future generations…..

  13. Bush Tea cover your eyes, you will not want to read this. Last week PM Cameron in England declared that he would proudly export homosexuality around the world, now that i have a problem with, Europe is rife with homosexual pedophiles, always have been, they been banned from the Pacific Islands and Asia, england is condensed with homosexuals, people who engage in beastiality and all manner of sickness of the mind, now why would he want to export that rot. One leader from an African country told them if they step foot in Africa, they will be beheaded, now that i agree with. Give them one inch, in legalizing homosexuality which i have no problem with because of the variables, and they want to go the whole nine yards, spreading destruction around the world using their millions of homosexuals. Now am i wondering if the Prime Ministers in the Caribbean might not have a point, no homosexual tourism, there are enough problems on the island with the closet homos and pedophiles destroying young children. The laws might need tweaking for consenting adults but not to open the doors for Europe’s sexual sadists.

  14. BAF

The remark about finding gay behaviour dodgy especially among males is a VERY MALE response. Along with many lusty rogues ,you don’t have the same depth of reaction to lesbian practices. Why is that do you think?

These arguments about polio, child predators, mass murderers and so on are really beside the point and beg all the questions rooted, as they are, in homophobic responses.

By all accounts upwards of 10% of the world’s adult population are gay, lesbian and bi-sexual and that sexual orientation was well understood by Socrates and, presumably, before. It is not, therefore, aberrational.

Moreover. as for cures may I refer you to the remarks of the President of the outfit operating out of Florida, dedicated to changing the sexual orientation of gay people on Biblical grounds, who apologized to the gay community for the devastation his programmes caused when the failure rate, as he said, was 99.9%.

What you have written is indeed a sad reflection on the design and engineering competence of your infallible BBE.
But if the original model is defective what can be expected from copies?

However, Bushie, you could logically argue yourself out of this contradiction by saying these ‘defective’ creatures like homosexuals (or even menopausal women like the miller) are really the handiwork of a much more powerful and evil god always in competition with your BBE for the adoration of the descendants of a self-replicating parthenogenetic “incestuous” murderer called Cain.

  16. Bush Tea

It is my belief that to refer to a human being as an abomination is to exhibit the most obvious example of hatred. What makes it worse is to compare law abiding citizens with criminal deviants, now that goes past hatred… That plants you squarely in the realm of .”contempt” (read lacking in respect).

You ain’ thinking straight today Bushie … sorry!

  17. @ Bushie
Haven’t read all but we cannot be persuaded otherwise than yours is possibly one of the best natural intellects coming from 166 square.

There are people who believe that what is important to them must be of utmost important to African peoples. They have been fooling us with an ecumenical narrative that seeks to locate our causes on the back burner through a process of attrition. The latest stratagem is the elevation of the gay agenda. While we are never interested in demonizing gay people that agenda can never be elevated in way to equalize or downgrade the issue of residual crypto-racism. We will never provide an once of concrete to solidify this new pseudo -normalcy.

  18. Spot on Bushie.

  19. @Bushie. Very briefly, before I leave you to the tender mercies of Baffy (and ac). You say, “Many mass murderers, sexual predators, violent sadist and repeat criminals are the way they are, due to ‘accidents of birth’.”

But Bushie, mass murderers, sexual predators, violent sadist and repeat criminals are far more often the results of the societies in which they live – it is far more likely to be environmental, rather than congential. BY FAR!!! And this is why in our more enlightened times, we seek, instead of the death penalty (among others) to go to the root of the problem and understand and correct the society that spawns the mass murderers, sexual predators, violent sadist and repeat criminals, rather than exacting vengeance. It is why we, those of us with half a brain like me, or even those with a whole brain plus like Baffy, would rather see sentences that are geared to rehabilitation, rather than punishment. By all means remove the threat to society, but remove it in such a way that it is no longer a threat and the person can be brought back into society as a functioning and useful member thereof. I don’t know that we are making much headway in Barbados, but some other countries are showing increasingly good results. People that have mental problems that may cause them to damage themselves or the public too, are being the recipients of far more enlightened treatment, so as to identify and treat the problem at source and avoid the danger to self and society before it occurs.

And the secret, Bushie, lies within my words above, “that may cause them to damage themselves or the public.”

Homsexuality has a genetic cause, not a societal one. Also, far fewer gay people are mass murderers, sexual predators, violent sadist and repeat criminals than the “straight” community.

Accordingly, you arguments are complete nonsense. The comparsions you seek to persuade us of make absolutely no sense whatsoever. In fact, although you do not say so, I sense that you are suggeting that we return to the dark ages of psychiatry and the treatment of gays and mandate shock therapy and chemical castration. Draconian measures like that.

And now I leave you to the very brief, concise and eloquent mercies of Baffy and ac. I think I have said enough on this subject on which you are I are doomed to live our lives in complete disagreement. Me, because I have evolved and you because you wish to regress.

    Homsexuality has a genetic cause?

PLease can you tell me the gene involved, and how it is transmitted.

  21. Bushie seems to be the only person who can see the forest from the trees.

One can dislike the act of homosexuality without a dislike of the person involved.

If Tutu knew his God he would understand that God hates the sin but loves the sinner.

A parent might dislike the action of a child, but not hate the child.

  22. anon

Yah jack ass … worse .. Yah senseless jack ass …!

    Georgie

Societies through history and geographic positioning are VASTLY different. Are you prepared to prove that Homosexuals are a product of society or choice? If not, perhaps it would be better to go with the gene thing, even without the proof. No one with a reasonable amount of common sense, can’ speak fah anon, would consciously participate in a practice that is sure to bring unwarranted attention to them.

  23. Ross

Clearly you are on board. This should be a fun fight … HA HA HA!

Ross and Amused on the same side … Stupse ! Dah ain gun dah much fun after all …

  24. NWO is about controlling world. US and UK jumped the gun spying on everyone and got caught early due to revelations about NSA GCHQ (who also exchange data and drone illegally). Gayness issues is a smokescreen to act nice as we should tolerate all but is being abused as excuse for wars in Africa and ME as a pretence for Women and Gay Rights moral fights. Should be a non-issue

“If Tutu knew his God he would understand that God hates the sin but loves the sinner.”

So if that is the case why do you think He/She/It allows the same homosexuals (both male and female) he loves so dearly to be stoned to death in some countries, incarcerated in others and generally discriminated against and ostracized in nearly all?

Unless you, anon, are a god how can you separate the sinner from the sin or the homosexuality from the homosexual. Don’t you find this to be an enigma of a paradox of conflicting confusing contradictions?
If you are so good at separating people from behaviours try ‘separating’ the following ‘regular’ act of an issue from the “issuer” i.e. the menstruating woman:-

“When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening.
Anything she lies on during her period will be unclean, and anything she sits on will be unclean.
Anyone who touches her bed will be unclean; they must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening.
Anyone who touches anything she sits on will be unclean; they must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening.
Whether it is the bed or anything she was sitting on, when anyone touches it, they will be unclean till evening.
If a man has sexual relations with her and her monthly flow touches him, he will be unclean for seven days; any bed he lies on will be unclean.
When a woman has a discharge of blood for many days at a time other than her monthly period or has a discharge that continues beyond her period, she will be unclean as long as she has the discharge, just as in the days of her period.”: Leviticus 15: 19-25.

Imagine you anon trying to hate the “leak” but loves the source like your wife, sister, daughter, friend or female workmates.

You just can’t cherry pick your so-called god’s words of command and instructions.

Even the Pope the chief of the biggest materially corrupt sin house of deviant sexuality in the world is asking people like you to be more accepting of homosexuals if not the ‘sin’ itself.
He, like you, should also say: We love and even protect the paedophile but hates the paedophlia.

  27. To attack TUTU is stupid the man is speaking through the eyes of experience understanding and fully aware of what it means to struggle in an enviroment where not to be accepted is the norm. he should be commended on such a brave and decisive statement.one in which TUTU allowed his conscience to be his guide a conscience which reminded him of a time So much of what gays are struggling to achieve. one of total acceptance

  28. “‘I’d rather go to hell than worship a homophobic God’
South African Nobel peace laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu”

….and he is a priest? that statement alone shows he knows nothing about hell, who would want to go there? how did this homophobic God phrase ever came up? the God who created man does not discriminate, he loves the sinner no doubt but he hates the sin. i think that many of us are often times too immature in our reasoning to understand that you can love someone and still hate their lifestyle. i absolutely hate homosexuality but I do not hate gays at all. however, i do not understand why Tutu would even associate the creator, hell and homophobia as if God is a human being

  29. @Baffy. The Italians have a word for you. Cativo. Translation – “sh*t disturber. I see the Mighty Miller has entered the fray. Blood (metaphorically) will now be shed. I have to confess that I am enjoying this. Poor old Anon never stood a chance.

@Miller. Great!!! Maybe you would like to extend your scope to cover women who are raped and can then be killed by their husbands for being unchaste, daughters who can be sold into slavery etc. etc. Just a suggestion.

What I really considered to be massive is that Desmond Tutu, one of the most highly respected black men of all time and a priest and former archbishop at a time of critial importance in a South Africa ruled by an oppressive and racist regime, has spoken out and put homphobia into its correct category.

  30. @Miller

The Pope’s utterance on the matter of homosexuality can be dismissed as an attempt to engage in PR given the reputation all dent taken by the RC.

  31. ‘Hating the sin but loving the sinner’

It’s the old Pentecostal cop out – I am yet to see any Pentecostal, any Bible based so-called Christian, utter one word of love for gay people. Indeed, all they do is threaten fire and destruction – in the name of God.

Besides, apart from playing God, which they do readily, their concept of God is a projection. There is no God ‘up there’ , no old man in the sky, with human faculties and it is superstitious nonsense to suggest that there is.

    BAF

You got it babes. LOL. On John Mortimer – one man in his life plays many parts and all that.

  32. Pinkie

Sorry – there do seem to me to be internal contradictions in what you have just written.

Do you really think that all this Pope is about is PR? Was that the way of St Francis?

  34. LOL @ Pachamama,
You are MUCH too kind, and any ‘intellect’ displayed by the bushman is definitely NOT natural….but may be the result of a long and growing relationship with some highly advanced Engineers… 🙂

Obviously some persons take this particular topic very personally and as a result, their ‘logic’ tend to reflect this…

There can be no CLEARER or more personal indication of UNNATURAL behavior than for a man to behave as a woman and vice versa….
Shiite man, if a baby is born with a deformed foot, EVERYBODY and their gardener knows that this is UNNATURAL and that it CLEARLY says that SOME SHIITE IS NOT RIGHT….be it polio, some other medical affliction or a tainted medicine like thalidomide….and ALL RESOURCES are directed to finding the cause and ELIMINATING that cause – so that babies born in the future are NOT FACED with such a challenge.

You mean we have children born as DAVIDs finding themselves behaving as Janes, and allegedly intelligent BU members trying to tell BUSHIE that this is OK? …..no problem? ….All Good!?
    WTF……..(rance)….

    @ Ross

This must qualify as a stupid statement of epic proportions, even for you RR. 🙂
If we had taken the position with Polio of accepting it as normal, then by now, more than 10% of us would likely have been victims.
Aberrationality is NOT a function of extent, but a measure of its variance from RATIONALITY…..so if it is ONE person ..or if it is EVERYONE (except Bushie) afflicted, then it IS an aberration.

    @ Amused
Your normal logic always seem to sway when you are seeking to defend the actions of some lawyers, or of your family…. 🙂

Yours, like all others who profess to “loving the sinner and hating the sin” is a hypocritical and disrespectful opinion of human beings. Hating the practice is one thing, but referring to it as a SIN is where the CONTEMPT steps in. Oh shoot, sorry … you is one ah dem that believe in a Christian God, perhaps male with blue eyes … that sees you as a believer, as a chosen being. Well then it would be in your nature to see ALL others as lesser beings anyway.

Tek my foolish advice .. seek help!

  42. Houstonb “We have a problem” one that is complicated and in dire need of repair as it cuts cross reigious ! social ! racial! political grounds. God in his infinite wisdom tried milions of years ago by means of fire and brimestone raining down on Sodom and Gomorreah but it did not work.. NOw we as a civilised society are called to fix this problems in a more humanistic and tolerant method.

  43. @ GP
In the final analysis, Homosexuality is not going to be about genes…. It is a SPIRITUAL illness, which transcends genes AND environmental issues (it may involve BOTH or none of these) and is actually rooted in CHARACTER and spirituality.

Small wonder then that most are clueless. Bushie would want to suggest a research study to test the thesis that there is a strong inverse correlation between the prevalence of homosexuality and the institutionalization of just, fair and righteous laws in that society.
    ….just saying….

    @ Miller
The day is coming soon when you will come to recognize how little you know….. Not that most others know much more, but your arrogance will prevent you from learning anything…..

All of those quotes that you like to pull from the Old Testament are actually brilliant administrative edicts that are era-appropriate, far reaching, and designed to produce the kind of successful societies back then….that continues to elude us in the 21st century with people like you in government.

    @ ac
    Hush DO!

I am in awe at the complexity of the human physio. I am in awe that they are people who are prepared to try and understand or at least, map out its functioning. My awe stems from the fact that these people know very well what it is that they are getting into. They know that new things about its workings are discovered daily and new procedures will always be sought to do things better. The brain of itself is a virtual universe of untapped information. There is probably NO limit as to the amount of information that can be derived from the functioning, healing and reproduction of the human machine. Perhaps it is still too soon to be speaking in absolutes …

In the final analysis, Homosexuality is not going to be about genes…. It is a SPIRITUAL illness, which transcends genes AND environmental issues (it may involve BOTH or none of these) and is actually rooted in CHARACTER and spirituality.

I am merely seeking clarity from those who have said CLEARLY that HOMOSEXUALITY IS GENETIC IN ORIGIN. I WANT TO LEARN THESE FACTS SO THAT I CAN EXPLAIN TO MY STUDENTS IN GENETICS COURSES. LOL

    BAFFY
FOLK HAVE SPOKEN IN ABSOLUTE TERMS ON THIS BLOG THAT HOMOSEXUALITY IS GENETIC IN ORIGIN. I AM ONLY SCIENTIFICALLY, LOGICALLY AND SARCASTICLY SEEKING CLARITY.

Come on man I ain’ stirring shit … I like when two ah wunna go at it. I would never refer you either of you as shit … HA HA HA.

    Look Bushie

Your tone towards those who are different is always grossly insulting. Abomination is a HORRIBLE word. What if one hundred years from now sex was no longer practiced by ANYONE for procreation to take place (as in deed could very well be the case today)? People would just have sex with another of their choosing without a thought about gender being necessary, after all the act would purely be about personal pleasure with not obligations to species. Then it would be the likes of you that would be referred to as an Abomination, and would be seeking to make apologies for your DEVIANT sentiments.

  47. @Bushie. You asking for trouble. Ac and me greeing, for once and likely briefly – but who knows. Even Ross and me greeing, grim as that undoubtedly is and certainly destined to be short-lived. Now all I am waiting for is the appearance of your nemesis, Islandgal.

And I agree with Ross when he says, “It’s the old Pentecostal cop out – I am yet to see any Pentecostal, any Bible based so-called Christian, utter one word of love for gay people. Indeed, all they do is threaten fire and destruction – in the name of God.” Ross could expand that, if he so chooses, to encompass the actions of any religious sect (whether Christian or not) when confronted with disagreement with their views and beliefs. I do not agree with the rest of Ross’ comment, because I personally fully subscribe to the God of Desmond Tutu and I personally have no doubt of His existence, whether you picture Him/Her/It as an old man in the clouds, or a gentle, loving and all-inclusive presence that Desmond Tutu clearly believes in. But that is a personal thing and I accept the right of others to differ – even Ross. Hell, my friend the Mighty Miller would agree with Ross on that and not with me. I also want to point out to Ross that it was Shakespeare, not Mortimer (or Proust) who said that one man in his time plays many parts. The play is entitled “As You Like It” and the appropriateness of the title of the play to this discussion cannot be denied. I refer also to Erasmus who pre-dated Shakespeare and who said, “”For what else is the life of man but a kind of play in which men in various costumes perform until the director motions them offstage?”

@Baffy. Excellent. And thanks for giving me a laugh as well.

@ac. Go, girl, go. You are on a roll. Pay no attention to Bushie. It is his time of the month and he will be unclean for 7 days, as Miller has pointed out.

@David. Of course you are right. The Pope is about PR. Pity he didn’t know what the man he appointed to sort out the Vatican Bank was up to. PR really gone wrong there.

  48. @ Baffy

I see you’re trying to fish within the gene pool in order to find a cause, but i’m afraid you won’t find it there as it lies elsewhere.

There is nothing wrong in supporting gays as it is the Christian thing to do, but Tutu must understand that he can not support the act of homosexuality.

The Pope is making it clear he is not quite as inflexible as his predecessors:
“If a person is gay, seeks God and has good will, who am I to judge?” Francis said. “They should not be marginalized.”
Wait till Paul Kokoski, the Catholic gay basher, gets his letter in the papers about that – no doubt the Pope does not really mean what he says
