Maybe Buju should have applied for a license to traffick Cocaine. Is that the point you are making? Educate Me Please!

  2. ba, ba, black sheep have you any wool
    yes sir, yes sir
    3 bags full
    1 for the MASTER and
1 for the for the ? and
1 for the little ? that lives down the lane

    repeat!

    The man wiv no name!!

    @HOPI
What if the MASTER was right on this occasion. They can’t invariably have been wrong or do u suppose so.

  4. If BB did the crime, he should spend the time. These men are NOT role models for blacks – unless our culture is weed smoking, violence, and free sex.

  5. For me, people these dub artistes epitomize everything I hate.
They do not promote ideals like education and the setting up of business. What kind of role models are these? Negroman, et. al., get with it!

  6. what some people in our society does not seem to realise is thatblack youth idolise these artist. therefore it is not only about the amount of money and fame which they required but it is also carries a great measure of responsibility with them being a good example as well as a positive role model to the youth. Buju failed to do so. Is he deserving of being convicted Yes? In it is a message to the youth. That message could have been easily brought out in Buju musicONLY if he had chosen to do so. Hopi and Negro man. The Black youth needs positive role models in the Home and also in Society and it is incumbent on those who put themselves in the forefront of Society to do so

  7. Buju, you must be a giant to have spawned so many Black youth who NEED you as a positive role model. Now we get to the crux of the matter. We should leave our PARENTAL DUTIES to Buju Banton and all the others who are in the game for fame, fortune and power, those that the world media hold before us to emulate.

Buju I hope you never in your life have to be judged by Bajans and its good to know that ‘God’ does not have ONE eye.

  8. If BB were not involved in Cocaine, how could he be “set up?”.
Why would an international singer, making tons of money have to be involved in the dope game? He didn’t even have money to pay his own bail; where does he spend his money?

  9. Buju was propositioned by a police snitch to buy cocaine and acted as the middleman for a drug syndicate. He thought he was cool / untouchable like all the other respectable pop stars who do it (such as Sting, Bob Geldof, Amy Winehouse etc).

  10. The hypocrisy behind US law is amazing. They have thousands of people in prison for drug possession and yet yesterday this news was put out on a site called naturalnews.com; and we buy into their drug eradication efforts.

” Today, yet another example emerges as the DEA moves to legalize THC in Big Pharma’s pills while simultaneously making it illegal for anyone else to grow, sell or possess THC. The DEA, you see, is working to change the classification of THC from a schedule I substance (like street heroin) to a schedule III drug (pharmaceuticals). So if Big Pharma grows its own marijuana plants, extracts the THC and puts it into a “pot pill,” those pills will be perfectly legal. They’re already FDA approved, actually, when made with the synthetic version of THC.

But if a guy grows the very same chemical in his backyard, then extracts THC from those plants — even for his own personal use — suddenly he’s guilty of committing a federal crime and will likely be subjected to an armed raid by DEA agents.”

WE as blacks must stop playing into the stereotypical roles . Those kind that protray us as drug dealers and gun bangers. We must break those chains that would continue to lead us down dangerous roads. WE must be proud and be able to lead withgood example. Not following the examples of the Amy winehouses of the world. We should not be willing to make exuses for our brothers and sister when they do wrong .We as a black race should leave an indellibile footprint in this world for others to follow. I bet when all is said and done Buju would also be ashamed of himself .

  12. @maat

If the US is successful in its bid is it likely that the same drug would be on sale in Barbados?

  13. @David.

I would imagine so. We seem to like to buy the FDA approved version even if we can grow it and extract it ourselves. What we do not have as far as I know is the capacity to test the products ourselves for purity and quality.

    Peace

  15. Quoting Technician on February 23 at 10:56 p.m. “I want you to do it and honestly post the results…Go through your life and identify the people who DIRECTLY & PERSONALLY stole from you, fought with you, told lies on you, borrowed stuff and never returned them, stabbed you in the back (literally if so) or any other grievous harm. When you have finished this list, tell us how many were White or Black.”

    Not a fair test Techie.

If you live in a mostly black community and your friends/family/neighbours/colleagues are black of course it will be mostly black people who offend you (and who will help you).

If you live in a mostly white community and your freinds/family/neighbours/colleagues are white of course it will be mostly white people who offend you (and who will help you).

There is a saying Techie, that there are lies, damn lies, and statistics.

You little quiz is a statistical lie.

  16. You little quiz is a statistical lie.

    Is it really, Random Thoughts?
Unfair test or statistical lie…..pick one man…you can’t have it both ways!!

  17. Buju Banton was an international Super star that brought fame and fortune to Jamaica. He EARNED foreign exchange for Jamaica as he earned it for himself … All ah wanna could go fly a ….! LOL

Now the spiteful US Gov is going after his assets …

BTW where wanna think all these guns that find there way into Gaddafi’s enemies come from …?

  18. But Random Thoughts if you had read MY response to Techie you wouldn’t a had a reason tah type nuttin’ ’bout hey …

  19. Man you and the rest can talk as much entrapment, set up, spiteful US…blah …blah…blah.
At the end of it Buju going to prison for a stretch and there is NOTHING any amount of talk will change!
I am no fan of the US and their hypocrisy but shite man, you know what it is and still going to deal cocaine, then when your ass get caught, cry set up?
Where is all the foreign currency now?
Why did he need to deal with cocaine, a product he cries down so much in his songs?
It is the white man’s powder and destroys whole heap of fathers and sons……those are his lyrics……practice what the ass you preach!!
I am yet to hear any Buju defenders say that he is WRONG……all I hearing is entrapment, setup….yada yada yada.

    To quote David …….
There is always a danger that the credibility of a good argument can be sabotaged by wholesaling a position.

  20. Jesus H Chr#st man, nobody ain’ say that dey ain’ a fire after all ah dis smoke, but in my book entrapment and this US justice thing as it is meted out to non-national non-white is the subject of true wrong doing … Buju as a topic is a mere distraction. If punishment must fit the crime then be an advocate for locking up just about every operative in this entrapment and enticement campaign…

  21. Touchy and sensitive aren’t we?

Remember that the thread was about Buju ok.

  22. @BAF
    O.K.

  23. Personnally i think he should get 5-10 years and with good behaviour come out in three . Since he doesnt have a past criminal record that should only be fair added to the facts dealing with the case he did not sell or traffick drugs .

  24. Another wasted potential Black role model. Why can’t they leave the drugs alone?

    @On Buju Banton,
Excellent and the pertinent question. My suggestion is that their heads are all full of ***t and thus they’re incapable of thinking.
