According to some former Boeing employees (now whistleblowers) and some Boeing documents uncovered by Al Jazeera, Boeing has been using parts on the newest model of 737, the 737 Next Generation model, which were supplied by one of their subcontractors who was not following the FAA authorised manufacturing process. They were supposed to be using computer controlled manufacturing and they were building critical fuselage components by hand instead.

The critical fuselage members were coming to the Boeing final assembly plant out of design tolerances and Boeing management had the workers force fit the parts or modify as necessary on the spot to make them work. This would reduce the designed structural integrity of the fuselage (as it had been certified by the FAA).  Some suspect that the faulty parts could have played a role in 3 recent 737NG crashes and will probably play a role in future crashes.

Read about it here and watch the embedded YouTube videos of the Al Jazeera report which broke the news. The video (52 min) is the full report that includes extensive testimony from the Whistleblowers.

  3. To all Wikileaks supporters – please send your $5 donation. It is needed now more than ever. It should not matter whether it goes to the defence case or the operation and maintenance of the site. It is a worthwhile cause. The Australian bank account is still taking bank transfers and I understand that PayPal has reversed their decision. The account is not frozen, but I am not sure you can still send money. However, it is still worth a try.

    @TB

    How much did you send?

  4. To be expected Boeing is denying all the stuff made public from the leaks.

    Observe that Jamaica is doing same with the Cuban cable.

    We maybe approaching a crisis of confidence in once favoured institutions.

    Bank of America announced it will stop handling transactions for WikiLeaks, the controversial non-profit group that has published secret government data and communications.

    In a tense response posted on Twitter late last night WikiLeaks urged customers to stop doing business with the bank and suggested the consumers could find safer places to put their money. See WikiLeaks’ Twitter response below:

  12. Banks refusing to serve a potential client is one thing, but I for the love of all that is dear cannot understand how the United States Government could declare a person’s international assets frozen?

  13. To what lengths would the corrupt seek to hide the truth. You guest it: ANY LENGTH. This man is risking his reptuation and life to expose the evil that men do and now governments of the world want to make this man a terrorist. Whose the real terrorist? The liars or the ones willing to expose the truth? You choose.

  19. Am writing a thesis on Public Trust in WikiLeaks, the Media and the Government and need to know what your opinions are. The online survey is multiple choice and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Please follow the link: http://www.kwiksurveys.com/?s=ILLLML_9669e09d. Would be great if you would encourage others to do the survey also.
