Yesterday on a much needed positive note a friend in Washington DC forwarded me a mass marketing email from the Barbados Tourism Authority. The mass email was well put together and promoted travel to Barbados with highlights of locations and coming events this summer.

It from my standpoint represented the kind of innovative marketing approach needed in the current competitive travel climate we are facing. It showed that someone at BTA “gets it”. With this kind of promise BTA leadership can drive down whatever side of the street they wish (lol).

See mass email below, BRAVO BTA.

Here is a sample of the huge image which Austin emailed. If there is a web link to the letter please post.

  1. Barbados has and always been the gem of the caribbean. It will not change ,but bring back the the likes of the Patrick Hinds and the Pat Nehalls.I make no apologies!

Is that not funny that one one hand praise is being heaped out to the BTA and on the other Raymond would want us to go backwards in time to a place in time pre computers pre Internet some may even suggest pre Telex Machines for inspiration to keep the progress going forward in 2010 ?

  3. If you bring back Patrick Hinds you may as well bring back Tom Adams the man who accused poor Patrick of causing more damage to tourism than an economic hurricane. The same can be said about Pat Nehaul. They were thanked for their small contributions to the industry already. You may have been asleep but we’ve moved on Ray.
