Acting Prime Minister and Attorney General Freundel Stuart

There is no need for armed guards in our schools, where next will we want armed guards, probably in churches on Sundays.

The Royal Barbados Police Force has been intellectualised! As an employer sometimes I have to overlook qualifications for aptitude as well as attitude. Successive governments have neglected the RBPF human resource needs while spending millions on a telecommunications system from Motorola. Please don’t misunderstand me the system was necessary.

The hierarchy of the RBPF has not shown vision along with the Attorney General Chambers. Why in 2010 manpower is deployed on a highway to trap speeders? Why in 2010 you have men patrolling Bridgetown looking for persons parked illegally. A waste of manpower. Change legislation to allow video evidence to be admissible in court, traffic violators in the UK are sent tickets via mail with video evidence of infraction.

Don`t tell me cost is an issue and we have ministers staying in US$1000 a night hotels.

Mr Commissioner and Mr Attorney General show some vision, pay the police men better if you care, and extend their manpower reach by using cameras on the Highways. No effort was spared for World Cup,why spare it for your citizens.

Two riot suppression Land Rovers were purchased from BS&T by the last administration. These vehicles aptly nicknamed the “The Pig” sit idle at St Ann’s Fort and District A. Who was the BS&T salesman, your guess is as good as mine. Our decision makers and technocrats are stuck with the pervasive malady “Analysis Paralysis” and  “Lazy Work Ethos”.

Its the whole truth and nothing but the truth from a person who has taken on blogging to encourage nation building.

  1. Two riot suppression Land Rovers were purchased from BS&T by the last administration. These vehicles aptly nicknamed the “The Pig” sit idle at St Ann’s Fort and District A. Who was the BS&T salesman, your guess is as good as mine.

    Would this salesman have been Johnny Tudor who would have been involved in the sale of a BMW to the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic? Is this the same Tudor who is now employed at McEnearney Motors in charge of the Audi line of vehicles?

  2. Prehaps we should loan the 2 RS landrovers to Jamaica.

  3. A future PDC Government shall make sure that all CONSTITUENCIES and electoral (polling) districts are renamed in this country.

    Thus, that there shall no longer be the St Michael South CONSTITUENCY, the St. George North CONSTITUENCY, the St. John CONSTITUENCY, the St. Lucy CONSTITUENCY, Christ Church East CONSTITUENCY, the St. James Central CONSTITUENCY, the St. Philip West CONSTITUENCY, etc.

    Thus, there shall no longer be electoral ( polling ) districts DA 1, DA 2, DA 3, and all the others within the national CONSTITUENCY ( the total number of CONSTITUENCIES in the country).

    Such a policy shall also apply to any future CONSTITUENCIES and future electoral ( polling) districts that ( in regard of CONSTITUENCIES ) are created and that are so named on the basis of the parishes in which they fall ( exclusively or substantially ), and that (in regard of electoral ( polling ) districts) are created in any of the CONSTITUENCIES and that carry such non-descript meaningless titles, in between the time now and whenever we become at the helm of government in this country

    These CONSTITUENCIES and districts shall be so named after prominent Barbadians who either in the past or in the present ( at the same time ) would have done great and extraordinary service to the particular CONSTITIUENCIES, or would have been outstanding in whatever fields in life and would have arisen from or resided in those particular CONSTITUENCIES and electoral districts or would have been for whatever reasons established for a good deal of time in them.

    Hence, we strongly believe in the following and more –

    1) that CONSTITUENCIES must as much as possible be seen by many Barbadians as being different from the entire colonial names and other colonial and post colonial human made things that are politically governmentally characteristic of the parishes in this country;

    2) that CONSTITUENCIES for purely electoral political purposes must as much as possible have their own identities;

    3) that such identities must center around paying homage and respect to the personalities that would have rendered – that would have been rendering outstanding meritorious service in whatever regards in those CONSTITUENCIES;

    4) that those present and past personalities by being granted such recognition would bring a greater sense of local history and culture to many others of the real meaning and importance of CONSTITUENTS/CONSTITUENCIES;

    5) that by granting such recognition would also entail the beginning of a substantial redefinition in the political language and behaviour associated with the theoritical CONSTITUENCY away from the primary operating variables – voting – party – Representation of the People’s Act – House of Assembly seats – to where it ( definitional language ) rightfully modernistically belong – CONSTITUENCY BUILDING – the CONSTITUENT – a CONSTITUENTS Bill of Rights – CONSTITUENCY ASSEMBLIES – WHERE CONSTITUENTS will initiate and debate and pass the laws of this country

    6) that with the establishment of such features ( in 5 ), and other relevant features, the further development of the nation building process shall be guaranteed away from, and as a partial substitute for – the excessive party based governmental politics that is too much corrupting and dividing our country.

    and

    7) that electoral ( polling) districts – being themselves constituent parts of CONSTITUENCIES – must actually reflect all the above and more considerations – (1 to 6 ).

    So, there you go.

    VOTE PDC for real and substantial change for the better in Barbados.

  4. @PDC when you rename the CONSTITUENCIES are you going to use only people without political attachments? because that sound like it could get real bias.

  5. To: Ready Done

    It is impossible in any electoral related-political process in Barbados to entirely remove all real or imagined partisan or non-partisan biases or prejudices.

    That said our quest will be to lessen it as much as possible in the renaming of these CONSTITUENCIES and electoral ( polling ) districts aross Barbados.

    There are four options that we will take and that will involve as many CONSTITUENTS as possible in all the CONSTITUENCIES : –

    In regard of CONSTITUENCY renaming,

    1) Consultations with them – so that they will come to know the political theoritical framework and guidelines that would be involved and that would include the very important criterion that any names put forward must be of those individuals alive or passed that would have been making or that would have made outstanding meritorious contributions to their respective CONSTITUENCIES and who would have arisen from, lived within or otherwise have been established ( BUSINESSWISE, SOCIAL CLUBWISE, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION, SCHOOL, CHURCH, ETC.) for a good deal of time in the CONSTITUENCIES; or

    2) CONSTITUENTS in each CONSTITUENCY entirely voting on a prescribed day and at prescribed times and places within the CONSTITUENCIES for the names of those individuals alive or passed that would have been making or that would have made outstanding meritorious contributions to their respective CONSTITUENCIES, and who would have arisen from, lived within or otherwise have been established ( BUSINESSWISE, SOCIAL CLUBWISE, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION, SCHOOL, CHURCH, ETC.) for a good deal of time in the CONSTITUENCIES.

    And in regard of electoral ( pollling ) district renaming,

    3) Similar to 1 – above – other than instead of CONSTITUENCIES, et al, electoral ( polling ) districts –

    Consultations with CONSTITUENTS living in electoral ( polling ) districts – so that they will come to know the political theoritical framework and guidelines that would be involved and that would include the very important criterion that any names put forward must be of those individuals alive or passed that would have been making or that would have made outstanding meritorious contributions to their respective electoral ( polling) districts and who would have arisen from, lived within or otherwise have been established ( BUSINESSWISE, SOCIAL CLUBWISE, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION, SCHOOL, CHURCH, ETC.) for a good deal of time in these districts; or

    4) Similar to 2 – above – other than instead of CONSTITUENCIES, et al, electoral ( polling) districts –

    CONSTITUENTS in each electoral ( polling) districts entirely voting on a prescribed day and at a prescribed times and places within the districts for the names of those individuals alive or passed that would have been making or that would have made outstanding meritorious contributions to their respective electoral ( polling ) districts and who would have arisen from, lived within or otherwise have been established ( BUSINESSWISE, SOCIAL CLUBWISE, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION, SCHOOL, CHURCH, ETC.) for a good deal of time in these districts.

    And again – as in 2 – above – with the wider political theoritical framework and guidelines suitable for this particular option made known.

    No names can be elected twice or three times to carry a CONSTITUENCY OR an electoral ( polling ) district no matter where the latter are located in the country.

    So, that is it for now, Ready Done.
