male prostituteIn recent days the homosexuality issue has been in the news at every turn, or so it seems. Last week we got an email from a BU family member which alerted us to the story about a Baptist minister who took a ten day vacation with a male prostitute. What is laughable is the label anti-gay which the story attached to the Baptist minister.

Before that we were subjected to the ridiculous comment by Minister of Education Ronald Jones, who in response to concerns raised about rising lesbianism in our schools was quoted as follows:   I have seen in my time growing up where, as part of their exploratory phase of development in our communities, girls ‘playing’ with themselves and with each other, nobody would put that as lesbianism, but what is essentially happening is that it is easier now to really accentuate the negative because that’s what sells [papers] . . . . so all of a sudden all of our girls [are lesbians]. That’s not true. – Nation Newspaper. How can a Minister of Education make such an irresponsible statement without feeling obligated to cite empirical evidence?

To cap the homosexuality talk in recent weeks we had the Archbishop of the West Indies Dr John Holder publicly stating that the Anglican Church will not break with tradition in the Caribbean by ordaining homosexual priests. A bold pronouncement by the good bishop in the face of the runaway gay lobby.

What is evident whether we like it or not is that the alternative lifestyle is an issue which we have to confront as a country, it is not going to disappear anytime soon. We have a now generation who live the homosexual lifestyle as a norm. The homosexual progression in Barbados will probably see prominent Barbadians lending weight to the lobby by coming out of the closet in the near future.

Barbados is a tiny community and the sexual orientation of many of our teachers, lawyers, politicians, priests, media practitioners, businessmen and women is already known. The don’t kiss don’t tell policy is alive and well, Barbadians have long perfected the art of whispering behind close doors while keeping mum in public about those who practice the alternative lifestyle. All the talk of homosexuality in recent weeks has forced BU to ask a question.

Would Barbadians accept a political leader who is a declared homosexual?

It is a national debate which has been avoided up to now because of our perceived fickle libel and slander laws.  However, if the young generation is comfortable practicing the homosexual lifestyle to the point they are open in how they live it, it seems logical that some of our future political leaders will be of the alternative lifestyle.

So, would you accept a political leader who has been bold and honest to step out of the closet to declare, I am gay?.

  1. NO

  2. This has been done to death on this website. I really don’t know what you think further discussion will bring.

  3. We already have.

  4. @Duh

You are correct the topic has been flogged but not to death. Until we treat with the matter with honesty and gays don’t feel they have to hide in the closet we must continue to discuss it. So answer the question.

  5. It seems that same sex relationships have been accepted in most 1st world countries, therefore, it appears as it is just a matter of time Barbados adopts the lifestyle also; the barbadian society is fast accepting it.However, I deem it as wrong morally, spiritually and unhealthy, especially among males. I advise that any of us who have a moral religious faith would read Romans chapter 1, I am afraid this world is digging their own graves and it is just a matter of time that we self destruct. The problem is that everyone who gets into the pulpit to preach is NOT a servent of God, many are now doing it as just another job. If things comtinue as there are going, it would just be a matter of time that our children turn up at home to introduce us parents to their same-sex lover and it is expected to be accepted as the norm. What a sinful world we are developing!!!!!!!!!!!

This story is for what? The other David to speak the truth on Leroy? How much Vaseline gets used? Why not look at the 876,000 Parris donate himself before signing an MOU with Thompy? That is the real sodomy!

  7. I am not gay. I will NEVER be gay. I LOVE my man/men. They’re so sweet. Oh my God.
That being stated, wikkaism and bullaism has been with us from time immemorial and it won’t change overnight if at all. Maybe there was this sorta behaviour in the Bible times, not sure. The BU theologians can clarify for us, the bible-illiterate.

Though I abhor this practise, how does it prevent one from being a reputable leader if one has all the attributes for being such? Don’t crucify me, I’m just seeking clarification.
What does one’s sexual preference have to do with leading the country?
Is there any sin that is greater than the other? Again, I’m just asking.

    Bro Scout
I think that the ‘sinful’ world was developed from in the Garden of Eden.
Bro. Scout, I would like you or Dr. Porgie, Zoe etc. to answer this puzzling question for me. If God created EVERYTHING, who created sin? God too? Just asking out of ignorance. Please help me here.

  8. Choices you have to make upcoming before you make the final choice to be “gay” require qualities that are not wanted in a leader.

The leader of a GOOD society must see the value in a GOOD family because family is the most basic unit of the society. A gay person can not make a family so a gay person can not make GOOD decisions to govern a GOOD family and by extension a GOOD society.

    Hope this helps.

Mawnin hunny. Look, stupseeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I still confuse. I serious. Does one necessarily have to make/have a good family unit in order to know what one should consist of? Like I tell ya, i still confuse. I trying ta separate de sexual preference from the political status. I still confuse.

We never had a prime minister living a gay lifestyle and I hope we never see it happen here in Bim.

There is a pretender to the throne who is quite open about their nasty lifestyle but the people of Barbados will always say no.

The Bishop of Barbados is a coward and should go stronger than this statement.

Ronald Jones should be condemned for those stupid comments which are quite contrary to the truth.

We the people need to stand boldly and say NO to this lifestyle and don’t be influenced by secret homosexuals who hold prominent positions in this country and are subtly pushing this gay lifestyle to ensure they will always have young homosexuals boys and girls for their depraved pleasure.

    SICKOS.

  12. Politicians are instrumental in policy and law making.

For example, should homosexuals be allowed to adopt children?

  13. Bonny Peppa, “If God created EVERYTHING, who created sin? God too? Just asking out of ignorance. Please help here.”

Bonny, No, God did not create sin, He created EVERYTHING good; sin came into our world out of rebellion against God’s Holy, Righteous standard, it all started with Lucifer’s rebellion against his Creator, PRIDE, arrogance, and the promotion of SELF, EGO centeredness, and found its way into the garden of Eden, with Adam and Eve, also yeilding to Satan’s lie, and wilfully disobeying their Creator’s command.

Sin, therefore, is the absense of God’s Holy, Righteous standard, as darkness is the absence of light. Hatred is the absense of true love, pride (EGO) is the absence of humility, etc, etc.

This subject matter has already been dealt with extensively in another blog on BU. Homosexuality, both men and women, are severely condemned in the Old Testament, Leviticus (18 22; 20:13) where it is abhorrent to God, and in Deuternomy (23: 18).

Early Christian reaction in the New Testament is clearly expressed by the Apostle Paul, Homosexuals ” will NOT inherit the kingdom of God” ( 1 Cor. 6:9-10); because of idolatry God gave up the heathen up “to dishonourable passions. There women exchanged natural relations (between men/women) for unnatural (women with women, lesbianism), and the men likewise gave up natural passion with women, (heterosexual) and were consumed with passion for one another, (homosexuality) MEN commiting SHAMLESS acts with MEN and receiving in their own persons the due penality for their error” (Rom. 1:26-27). Here the association with *idolatry* the utter unnaturalness of the practice, and the divine *judgment* which abandons individuals to it (an echo of Sodom?) are all significant. The Sodom story recurs in Jude 7 (“unnatural lust”), perpetuating the tradition that homosexuals were under Almighty God’s ban.

As you said in your own way “wikkaism and bullaism has been with us from time immemorial and it won’t change overnight if at all.” And yes “this sorta behaviour” is well described in the Bible as Zoe has pointed out.

I respect that you are willing to admit that you are a bible-illiterate, rather than making an ass of yourself in pontificating on areas that you know nothing about as others do on BU. LOL

You ask “Though I abhor this practise, how does it prevent one from being a reputable leader if one has all the attributes for being such?”……. What does one’s sexual preference have to do with leading the country?

What is very clear is that history reveals that in all of the great civilizations of the past (Babylonian, Medes & Persians, Greeks, Romans) that homosexuality was rampant at the time of their decline, and thought to be implicated therein.

If there is anything that will hasten the decline of our nation is a homosexual leader promoting this lifestyle with gay abandon. From reports there is already for sometime now a sweeping under current of lesbianism/

You also asked “Is there any sin that is greater than the other?”

Yes the Bible speaks of the UNFORGIVEABLE SIN, which is attributing to the devil the work of God, the Holy Spirit (see Mark 3 and Matthew 12.).

    @ The Scout

Re “It seems that same sex relationships have been accepted in most 1st world countries, therefore, it appears as it is just a matter of time Barbados adopts the lifestyle also; the barbadian society is fast accepting it.”

This is actually the big problem. Barbados now seems to think that it must copy the worse things from everywhere?

Re If things continue as there are going, it would just be a matter of time that our children turn up at home to introduce us parents to their same-sex lover and it is expected to be accepted as the norm.

This has already happened many years ago when the son of the late Rev H StC Tudor introduced his bulling partner to his parents as his husband. He is still apparently still bulling up in Canada. His brother the Anglican priest in the UK is, however, apparently much more orthodox!

Thanks for trying to clarify for me but I’m still confused. The bible is one books which really confuses me. I try to pattern my life from the ten commandments most of the time, not all of the time. I love a lot, hate a little, give a lot and keep a little. But what I find confusing is that, ok, God created everything Good. By the way is ‘good’ in the bible or just ‘everything’? Anyway, if He created everything good then where did Lucifer find the ‘bad’ spirit of arrogance, self centerdness etc? And didn’t God create Lucifer too? Seriously Zoe, I am totally lost and like I said, being an ‘illiterate’ i don’t delve too deeply into these matters. But I like your responding to my query, OK?

    Dr. Porgie
Ya mek ma cry. “He still bullin up in Canada”. I luv um badddddddd.
Like I admitted, I am ‘bible-illiterate’ but the little that I can remember, there are only two unforgivable sins. (1) Blaspheming. (2) Suicide.
All the others are sin, regardless of the degree.
By the way, was the late Rev.Tudor Barbadian? If so, his son is lucky that he didn’t strangle him to death. LOLLLLLLLLL

    Mash up

  17. Live and let live. What goes on in the privacy of a person’s home is their business. If anyone is to gypsy as to go and find out, that is invasion of privacy. It ain’t got nothing to do with anybody else. The trouble is we Bajans gypsy by nature and we does love to gossip. “You know, I hear he does be a buller or she does be a wicker”. It is not anybody’s business. I dislike overt displays of sexual affection for anybody – whether they be homo, hetero or bi. I just don’t know where to look when that happens.I find it embarassing. So, I would not be enquiring who doing what with whom – or with what. I don’t want to know. This is information I do not need. As for gays in political office, does it really matter as long as the wellfare of the Nation is their first and only concern in their exercise of that office? I don’t think so. And we all know that there have been bullers, wickers and bisexuals who have served this country extremely well. On the subject of adoption, I am not sure. I have never studied it. BUT, I would have thought it is better for a child to be raised in a secure, supportive and loving environment that may be same-sex, rather than one that is abusive and heterosexual. But, as I say, I have not studied it, so I have not formed any opinion. Please do not quote scriptures at me. I am not good with bigots who try to hide behind the Good Lord in order to promote their bigotry. So lef me out of that. Not interested.

The only sin listed in the Bible is “blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.”

There is much that we do not understand. This was the cry of the Psalmist and Habakkuk……….and us. However, there is much that we do understand. That we can try to obey and practice.

  19. How about asking about a leader who indulges in oral sex, David?

  20. So a Gay could be prime minster but not a pastor?

  21. Would Barbadians accept a political leader who is a declared homosexual? How about this: Would Barbadians accept a political leader who commits infidelity? What makes us continue to believe that homosexuality is a sin greater than any other committed by human-kind? And where did all this talk of “alternative” and “lifestyle” come from? Surely if they are alternative lifestyles to heterosexuals then we must be alternatives to them? I believe we use these terms to set ourselves apart from HUMAN BEINGS who are are different than ourselves.
And where is the clamour for the empirical evidence for those who raised the alarm over our young women engaging in same sex relationships? What data was provided or cited to tell us the problem is escalating as suggested by a news paper reports? A principal identifying a four year old gyrating on other class mates for a period of 4 years? – So this 4 year old learned and adopted this “alternative lifestyle” in-utero?

  22. @Amused

Are you saying a same sex couple can provide the maternal and paternal roles which nature’s law seem to deem as complementary?

  23. The ass is not a sexual organ. It is a conduit for emitting waste from the body. The argument that penetration of the anus by a penis is normal is not only ludicrous, it is an indication of how crazy this world has become.

Again, there are no laws against same gender love. Homosexuality is not about same gender love. Homosexuality is about same gender sex. This debate cannot be conducted on the premise that people hate others who love someone of the same gender. We could not care less about who people choose to love. We are saying, quite plain and simple, that anal/penis copulation is perverted and nasty. The anus is a waste canal. You cannot chamge that, regardless of the euphemisms you use to obfuscate that reality

  24. Reality obfuscated Avatar

  25. Well said,Ruel Daniels.

    Tell it like it is.

  26. @ David

What you talking bout? How many Bajans raised with “maternal and paternal” roles in the home? In many cases there were two women raising the children – the mother and grandmother. Alternatively, the mother and the aunt, or the aunt and grandmother.

    @Ruel Daniels

Anything can be used for sex! Even an armpit!

    Anthing

  27. @Pat

True true but should we as a people aspire to situations which were born out of exigencies?

  28. @ Pat….

    Armpits?!?……please expand on this.

  29. @Technician

Where is your innovative mind…. man use it. Men screw boobs too! Ass cheeks, anything, even paper bags.

  30. Bonny Peppa, Yes, God did create Lucifer, but, he obviously had ‘freewill’ along with the other 1/3 of Angels that rebelled with him against their Creator, and were cast out of Heaven. Likewise, the first man created, Adam, and his wife Eve, were also given choice, ‘freewill’ to volitionally choose, to either LOVE and obey God, and never die, OR, choose to disobey and end up in SIN, misery, and death.

Also, “good” is used a number of times in the Genesis account of Creation.

“Let no one say when he is tempted, ‘I am tempted by god’ for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives BIRTH to sin, when SIN is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every GOOD gift and every PERFECT gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is NO variation or shadow of turning.” (James 1: 13-17) Emphasis added.

Bonny, the subject of Lucifer, who was created perfect, with ‘freewill’ and chose to rebell and became Satan, as I said, was dealt with in other blog thread on BU.

  31. I don’t understand how a man can put his thing in another man’s behind and have sex in there. Oh gosh that is really dirty.

  32. @David. Pat is right, you know. In so far as Barbados is concerned. As I said, however, I have not given the matter much thought. Having said that, however, I am constantly amazed these days at how the youth take homosexuality in their stride – it really is a non-issue for them. Indeed, the swishing, camping queen (who can either be amusing or totally obnoxious) is very much on the decline and it is only when someone young declares their sexuality that anyone knows. The same cannot be said for the ladies, however. There is a definite trend afoot to look and act as much as possible like the stereotypical male long-distance driver of a semi-articulated lorry, even down to the display of “builders bum”. But, whatever turns you on. It isn’t harming anyone, so I fully support the look, even if I find it very unattractive.

Can same-sex partners make good parents absent the father and mother role figures? I cannot see why not and I agree with Pat. Since the world’s (not necessarily Barbados’) whole attitude is that homosexuality is a non-event and treated as perfectly normal by almost everyone, the pressure is off. As I see it, the danger to children of same-sex couples lies, not in their homes and with their parents, but outside of the home with the societal and peer pressures. If those pressures are absent, because everybody is minding their own damned business and living and let live, then there is no reason that such children will not thrive. Actually, there is more reason why they should thrive. They, after all, have been brought into a home where they are truly wanted. They are not the cause of hasty marriage or a “mistake” or to prop up a failing marriage or, as in the UK, to support their parents through the grants the State gives to children. They are there because a same sex couple actually wants to raise them and to spend money and quality time giving them the best advantages possible. In addition, I would think that same sex couples going into such a situation have thought it through carefully – all the various problems and scenarios and how best to deal with them. These children are not likely to be the subjects of parental experiment.

I do not know any same-sex male couples with children, so cannot speak, other than in theoretical terms, to that aspect. However, I do know a number of lesbian couples with children (being either the child of one of the ladies or adopted by both). I can tell you that of those that I know, they are 100% of them: very well adjusted, very well mannered, independent and clear-thinking and devoted to their parents. And, for those who have reached adolesence, 100% heterosexual. I can see absolutely no reason to believe that the children of male same sex couples would be any different. I take it even further. Two of the children of these lesbian couples are themselves parents – and the grandparents do what all grandparents are forced to do – help with the rearing of the children. And I can see absolutely no evidence of any kind of maladjustment. It seems to me that children are all-accepting, until we adults, with our hates and prejudices, get our hands on them and turn them into hateful bigots like ourselves.

But, as I said, this is a very cursory and surface examination of your question, David. So, although those are my leanings thought-wise, the answer is still that I DO NOT KNOW.

The Barbados Hilton is encouraging foreign Brazillian prostitutes to solicit their trade at the hotel nightly.
At one time there was one Brazillian prostitute who came nightly to the bar at the hotel & solicit clients. My sources indicated that Hilton security and some management staff tried to stop the practise of that young lady using the Hilton property to solicit clients. The Brazillian prostitute went and complained to another member of the Hilton management staff,a local Barbadian in a very senior position and permission was granted by that individual for the Brazillian to continue her practise. The young Brazillian lady has now brought along another Brazillian to the Hilton Hotel to practise her trade also. This is true true true. Can you believe a hotel that has government investment in it is supporting an act that is illegal in Barbados.Well, well, well, only in Barbados.
If any local,or Non-national prostitute is reading this post,The Hilton Hotel is the place to be.Senior management at that hotel is encouraging foreign prostitutes on the premises. Please visit the bar anytime after 10.00 pm nightly and the Brazillian prostitutes will be there.
Local & Non-national Caribbean prostitutes this is an open invitation to visit the Barbados Hilton and cash in on the activity taking place there nightly.

  34. This topic again ??????
    cheez on biscuits !!!!!

  35. @EHW, Who says prostitution is illegal?

  36. 2 women are foolishness and 2 men are an awful offense. Uh telling lie?

  37. Do YOU believe Barbadians would vote for a homosexual leader if it is known?

  38. @David. Definitely not and that is why the candidate you have in mind (and don’t try to tell me you don’t have a candidate in mind) will never be PM. In fact, I sincerely doubt they will ever be allowed to run for PM. And that folks, is not only life, it is Bajan reality.

The next question that has to be asked in this case, however, is, “Is this person capable of being PM and running the country?” In my considered and very careful opinion, absolutely not. Too much temper and almost no substance. However, capable or not, even if this person WAS capable and would make a good PM, but delcared that they are gay, even though everybody knows it anyway, no way they or their party would get elected. Barbados is getting more progressive, but not that much more progressive. Not sure it would work in the USA, Canada or the UK either, for that matter. It would, of course, in France and Belgium and Holland and all the Scandanavian countries, like Denmark and the rest – there would be no problem there. It would also work in Australia and New Zealand. Not in Barbados, though.

So your point is very provocative and extremely well made, David. I add to it that Barbados will vote to elect a gay person as PM, provided the electorate can hide their heads in the sand and pretend that they have just not found the right guy or girl for them. Just like some parents of gay people do even now.

  39. Citizens need to focus on who CAN and WILL get the job done that they the taxpayers send them to do, and stop looking at the lifestyle of the individual. It gets us nowhere. How one chooses to live his or her personal life is his or her prerogative.

President Clinton had lots of skeletons in his closet before he was put in office. He was finally exposed while in office and to say the least it was embarrassing, but guess what… He made it perfectly clear that he was there to do the job of the people. When all was said and done, he was able to balance the budget plus he left a surplus, and he got some things done that were of importance to the citizens.

Barbadians need to decide what is of more importance to them – the lifestyle of someone even though she or he could help them so as to move forward the country especially in these economy times, or someone who are full of promises that turn to pie crust. You can’t have it in the glass and the spoon too.

If someone with an alternative lifestyle seeks top office, there would be a lot of talk and possibly for a while just as this subject keeps surfacing, but it is better to declare your hand especially if intentions are to be a public figure than to have it leaked by other sources. Get it out the way.

I’m sure that is a tough call for the bajan and maybe other Caribbean people not only being shred to pieces by the masses, but by losing at the polls under such circumstances.

  40. PlainTalk // May 12, 2010 at 2:35 PM. I agree with you completely. But that was not the question that David asked and which I answered. Do you think my answer was wrong? Do you think that David’s question was wrong? If you do, then we are being asked to sweep the mores and thorught and feeling of our society under the carpet. I can’t do that. I have no idea how David would answer his own question, he will have to speak for himself. But, I agree with you in what you said. It should NOT matter, but, if I understood it, David’s question was, would it matter. Not to me or to you, but to the majority. I believe it would matter to the majority – and I believe that they are wrong to let it matter.

  41. There is little doubt that any politician who feels bold enough to declare his or her sexual orientation to be homosexual would have effectively ended his or her political career.

Barbadians MAYBE inclined to give a politician who is suspected to be gay the benefit of the doubt.

This is the reality which politicians and others running for public office face in Barbados.

  42. David
Is it necessary to ‘declare ya hand’?

    Ex Hilton Worker

  43. @ David. Why is that the perception all over the caribbean is that BIM is the homo capital of the region? All the silly jokes about caribbean people the one that is commonly heard about BIM is ” Dont bend over near a Bajan”.But you right David, a politician would be committing political suicide coming out the closet…..no way Jose.

What I find anonying is that people who support homosexuality and see nothing abhorrently wrong with it will in a quick flash denounce beastiality .Well, I see no difference between them both acts are equally repugnant. And there are people who are genuinely turn on by animals. I have heard lot of rich socialite women in Mahnattan with these pampered dogs and cats do indulge in all type of sexual pervesion with their animals. I wonder if the Homosexual movement would give their support to these people if they decide to come out also.

David, There is a clip on youtube NBC :To catch a predator where this Trinidardian guy was trying to get a minor and himself to indulge in a sex act with cat……that is one funny shit. I think he got deported.

  45. @zion1971 // May 12, 2010 at 8:14 PM. I have never heard that about Barbados. A couple of the other islands, yes. Most notably Peurto Rico and St Martins. Also, to a lesser degree T&T and Jamaica. Never heard it about Barbados. So you learn something new every day. Or maybe you have it completely wrong, like the rest of your comments. I strongly suggest that you take your mind (and education) out of the gutter it is in and concentrate on your own life and sexual practices. Practices that, for all we know, may be “abhorrently wrong” to most people also. By the way, the use of small dogs by ladies to relieve themselves is not new and started back in the middle ages – hence the term “lap dog”. By the way, for the record, bestiality is a criminal act and so it should be – on many bases, but most importantly that the animal has not got the capacity to consent. So, it is akin to rape. Where consent is involved and it harms no one, I see no harm. And I agree that rapists should be castrated, ergo……..

@Bonny Peppa. I was waiting to see what you would say. You did not disappoint me and I am still laughing.

  46. Let’s say that same sex relationship becomes the norm and coupled with those career women who will go to the sperm bank and choose what kind of child they want to born, what will become of the future generations? These children, will be the lost generation, plus the problem would just get worse was they themselves get children. Don’t you saee that we are destroying humanity with our immoral practises?

  47. “on many bases, but most importantly that the animal has not got the capacity to consent. So, it is akin to rape. Where consent is involved and it harms no one, I see no harm. And I agree that rapists should be castrated, ergo…….”.
This is very interesting I have never seen a cow (cattle) give their consent to be come beef or poultry give their consent to be come chicken meat I guest we should now be calling murderrrrr.LOL is wrong right if you have enough people saying wrong is right ……by the way I have been to other islands where people ask me if it is true that bajans like bulling and yes every body has heard of st James (the gold cost)

  48. The worldwide “GAY MAFIA”, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland has quite a membership, inclusive of spooks of the sundry spy agencies across the globe. Homosexuals have always been recruited by such as the CIA, MI6 and so on since absolute secrecy is required, so basically “the agency will keep your secret so long as you’ll keep theirs”. Watch the movie the GOOD SHEPHERD starring Matt Damon.

FBI director J. Edgar Hoover was also a famous homo who terrorised the underprivileged but was impotent to attack the mafia due to the latter having photographic prof that he was a “fairy”. Thus the ultimate blackmailer was him/herself the victim of blakmail, but he still traipsed around in public with his/her lover Clyde Tolson.

The shit brigade that is existent in Barbados, is quite influential and and increasingly bold. Imagine my utter surprise when I stumbled upon a gathering of male couples at the Shell Warrens service station on Sunday night last. I had always thought it was a meeting place for drag racers who do their after midnight illegal racing along the ABC highway. Lo and behold I almost tripped over one such couple, one a slim dark fella and the other a corpulent man with braided hair and they were holding hands and deep kissing. My first impluse was to fire some rockstones at the two of them, when I realised on looking around that the place was infested with bullers, camouflaged amongst the drag racers who may also be of that ilk anyhow. This is what Barbados has come to. So muck young pokey in de place and misfits hunting for pooch.

Homosexuality is not something to which you are recruited.

Can you explain how teenagers who have been raised by christian parents in a heterosexual-headed house hold suddenly discover that they are gay later on in life.

These persons were never “exposed” to any sort of homosexual lifestyle. Sometime they do not even know of any homosexual persons.

Take for instance, Christian singer Jennifer Knapp

  50. David // May 12, 2010 at 12:56 PM Do YOU believe Barbadians would vote for a homosexual leader if it is known?

It’s unfortunate that people who can be of great benefit to his or her country or to others withhold their sexual preference for fear of being rejected, castigated or even victimized which is sadly the norm in Barbados and elsewhere. Therefore, homosexuals do not put themselves forward to become political leaders, knowing full well that voters would not cast their vote for them regardless of their knowledge and experience. It seems to me that Bajans would prefer to go to hell than vote for a homosexual who could uplift the country.

Bajans love to portray themselves as being more holy than thou. They are some of the greatest pretenders. Some of them, if they could hide their vote, would certainly vote for a homosexual candidate who would serve their (voters) best interest; as long as they know that their vote would remain secret they certainly would take the risks. However, I would not put it pass many of them who would publicly criticize but privately vote for a homosexual if they felt it would help them in a big way.

Maybe sooner than later, a future generation not too far away, there is no telling that voters might change their mind but not today’s voters.

Bajans are copycats but I don’t see them as making history with this one.
