Decades of safe influenza inoculations mean specialists are not expecting problems with the swine flu vaccine, because it is made the same way as the regular winter flu vaccine. But systems to track the health of millions of Americans are being tapped to make sure – to spot any rare but real problems quickly, and to explain the inevitable false alarms when common disorders coincide with inoculation.
US health officials have spotted no concerns to date, said Dr. Bruce Gellin, head of the National Vaccine Program Office.
A specially appointed working group of independent experts will track the vaccine’s safety, too. Although the group will deliberate in private meetings, starting today, its charge is to raise a red flag if members feel the feds miss anything.
A report Friday in the British medical journal The Lancet said the intense monitoring will be crucial for an additional reason: separating normal disease rates from real vaccine risks. For example, about 2,500 miscarriages and 3,000 heart attacks occur every day in the United States, and some are sure to coincide with vaccination yet not be caused by it.
Other monitoring includes linking large insurance databases to state vaccine registries to track who visits a doctor and why after the shot, a program covering about 20 million people. Plus, there is specially targeted tracking of pregnant women, and work to tell if the risk of Guillain-Barre – which regularly strikes 1 in 100,000 people – is increased slightly by flu vaccine or not.

If a few people in a school or organization have the flu, then everyone has the flu in a relatively short time. Not everyone show symptoms or have the same symptoms. It depends on their immune system. One person might just have a sourish throat or stuffy nose that last for a few hours while another is ill for 2 weeks. Now if everyone already ‘caught’ it then will they catch it again? They now have immunity to it so they won’t catch it again! However, the flu mutates so when it comes around the next time it’s not the same flu and so some people will fall ill again and the process repeats itself. But, if the vaccine was made using the old (very old) version of the flu that has since mutated – what use is the vaccine now! It wasn’t made to protect you from the new mutated flu. There is no longer any purpose for the vaccine if it can’t protect you from the new strain! So why still push the vaccine? It’s all about the money!!!!!!! Who is to benefit by billions for these vaccine scams?
(They may still go ahead and put the microchips in the vaccine too control you. One such means is using florescent bulbs that emit the frequencies that can activate the chips – so called environmental problems and energy crisis they create to get you to buy them!)
Good job freewilly! Yes, the so called shortage (reduce supply) is designed to create fear, thus increase demand. They’ll soon add Hepatitis A or B and Tubercolosis (or both) to the list of pandemics to scare you more. These are designed to make you cry to your government as savior, allowing them to pass more laws (laws you normally would not accept) but now you’re fearful, so now they can pass those laws that control you more.

Perhaps it was fear of crowds that kept the crowds away on Sunday from the clinics offering free swine flu vaccinations to school children. Or, maybe, as some of the few who did show up suggested, the small numbers could be attributed to wariness about the new vaccine or a lack of knowledge about the clinics.
The clinics had the staff and enough vaccine to accommodate as many as 31,500 vaccinations a day – but the total vaccinations administered on Saturday was 1,701. On Sunday the turnout was just as low. Just 5% of available vaccine was given.
What the department had instead were large rooms that were mostly empty. Outside a side door at the school, on Stanton and Norfolk Streets, eight health department workers wore optic-yellow vests – including a man with a sign taped to his back that bore the title “Flow Manager.” There were rows of police barricades set up to impose order on the people waiting to enter.
Outside the school, at any given moment, two or three children – or sometimes one, or even none – were filling out registration forms.
