There is the hypothesis which some people believe has been adequately tested to suggest that dark and powerful world figures are conspiring to promote the idea of a world government. It would see the appearance of a world government, a world army….)

We need to stop!!!

  1. Timeline of the Progress Toward a North American Union

Canadian, U.S., and Mexican elites, including CEOS and politicians, have a plan to create common North American policies and further integrate our economies. This plan goes by various names and euphemisms, such as “deep integration”, “NAFTA-plus”, “harmonization”, the “Big Idea”, the “Grand Bargain”, and the “North American Security and Prosperity Initiative”. Regardless of which name your prefer, the end goal of all of these plans is to create a new political and economic entity that would supercede the existing countries. Advocates refer to it as a “North American Community”, but it is also known as the North American Union (NAU). Theoretically, it would be similar to and competetive with the European Union (EU). The individual currencies of each country would be replaced by a common currency called the “Amero” and everything from environmental regulations to security would be brought in line with a common standard.

Vive le Canada.ca offers the following timeline as a resource to educate the general public about the progress of the three countries toward a new North American Union (NAU).

Vive le Canada.ca opposes the creation of the North American Union (NAU) because we believe it will mean the loss of Canadian sovereignty and democracy and hand over more power to giant, unelected corporations. We also believe that unlike the EU, the countries joining the NAU are not roughly equal in size and power and that this means the U.S. will most certainly be setting policy for all three countries. Considering the unpopularity of the Bush administration and its policies in the U.S., Canada, and around the world we believe that erasing the borders between our countries and adopting U.S. policies at this time is a bad idea and will create economic, political and military insecurity in this country. We hope that raising awareness about the plan to create a North American Union (NAU) will create opposition and encourage debate in all three countries, but especially in Canada.

Here are a few internet video resources you can watch to help get a handle on the enormity of what we are up against.

Check out the video “Money as Debt” on google video which explains how the majority of the money supply in most modern economies is created by the banking industry through the issuance of loans to consumers, corporations and governments and how this inevitably leads to an ever increasing, burdensome and unpayable debt load on workers.

Here is what the producer of “Money as Debt”, Paul Grignon, had to say regarding his motive for making the documentary:

“Money created as interest-bearing bank credit is a magic trick, a fraud – now 3 centuries old; one that very few people have seen through despite, or rather because of, its utter simplicity.

It is my intention to make this mysterious debt-money system comprehensible to everyone. It is also my intention to foster sufficient understanding of the problems with this money system that citizens will be motivated to join the monetary reform movement and/or create local alternatives to the global monetary system – a system in which most of the productive people of the world are collectively chained to an ever-increasing and perpetually unpayable debt.

This is a system designed for elite control of the people by those who have given themselves the privilege of creating money. It is also, I believe, a system that is designed for catastrophe. As the movie explains, there can be no sustainable civilization without a sustainable money system.”

More links and information if you want to follow up further are at the documentary’s web site http://www.moneyasdebt.net .

To watch the documnetary or line, just go to http://video.google.com and type in “Money as Debt” in the search bar and click the topmost link in the returned results. Also at google video you can watch the video documentary “The Money Masters” (just do a search for “The Money Masters” at http://video.google.com ) for a longer and more in depth explanation of how a very few extremely wealthy banking families down through history have manipulated presidents, prime ministers and kings (not to mention us peons) to accumulate more and more wealth and, more importantly, more and more power and control in their own hands.

The Money Masters video is in two parts and it’s about 3hrs total, so it’s quite long but it will fill you in on some interesting history they somehow omitted to cover in your school history text books.

Also the video documentary “The Corporation” (www.thecorporation.com ) is available to view on line here:

    http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/2008/01/07/watch-the-corporation/
(page down to the bottom for the videos)

“The Corporation” asks the question, “If a corporation is a person, what type of person is it?” The unsettling answer is that corporations frequently exhibit all the characteristics of a pyschopath.

    A LEGAL “PERSON”

In the mid-1800s the corporation emerged as a legal “person.” Imbued with a “personality” of pure self-interest, the next 100 years saw the corporation’s rise to dominance. The corporation created unprecedented wealth but at what cost? The remorseless rationale of “externalities” (as Milton Friedman explains, the unintended consequences of a transaction between two parties on a third) is responsible for countless cases of illness, death, poverty, pollution, exploitation and lies.

THE PATHOLOGY OF COMMERCE: CASE HISTORIES

To assess the “personality” of the corporate “person,” a checklist is employed, using diagnostic criteria of the World Health Organization and the standard diagnostic tool of psychiatrists and psychologists. The operational principles of the corporation give it a highly anti-social “personality”: it is self-interested, inherently amoral, callous and deceitful; it breaches social and legal standards to get its way; it does not suffer from guilt, yet it can mimic the human qualities of empathy, caring and altruism. Four case studies, drawn from a universe of corporate activity, clearly demonstrate harm to workers, human health, animals and the biosphere. Concluding this point-by-point analysis, a disturbing diagnosis is delivered: the institutional embodiment of laissez-faire capitalism fully meets the diagnostic criteria of a “psychopath.”

    SNIP

    DEMOCRACY LTD.

Democracy is a value that the corporation just doesn’t understand. In fact, corporations have often tried to undo democracy if it is an obstacle to their single-minded drive for profit. From a 1934 business-backed plot to install a military dictator in the White House (undone by the integrity of one U.S. Marine Corps General, Smedley Darlington Butler) to present-day law-drafting, corporations have bought military might, political muscle and public opinion.

And corporations do not hesitate to take advantage of democracy’s absence either. One of the most shocking stories of the twentieth century is Edwin Black’s recounting IBM’s strategic alliance with Nazi Germany-one that began in 1933 in the first weeks that Hitler came to power and continued well into World War II.

    Happy viewing.

  2. One interesting clause in the North American Union agreement comes as a surprise to most Canadians I speak to.

Under the treaty , the US has first call on all Canada’s energy production ( oil, natural gas, hydro etc ), as much as it wants, when it wants.
Mexico saw this as a threat to its own energy policy and opted out, but strangely Canada signed up.

  3. Al Qaeda and the “War on Terrorism”

    by Michel Chossudovsky

    Global Research, January 20, 2008

    Introduction

One of the main objectives of war propaganda is to “fabricate an enemy”. The “outside enemy” personified by Osama bin Laden is “threatening America”.

Pre-emptive war directed against “Islamic terrorists” is required to defend the Homeland. Realities are turned upside down. America is under attack.

In the wake of 9/11, the creation of this “outside enemy” has served to obfuscate the real economic and strategic objectives behind the war in the Middle East and Central Asia. Waged on the grounds of self-defense, the pre-emptive war is upheld as a “just war” with a humanitarian mandate.

As anti-war sentiment grows and the political legitimacy the Bush Administration falters, doubts regarding the existence of this illusive “outside enemy” must be dispelled.

Counter-terrorism and war propaganda are intertwined. The propaganda apparatus feeds disinformation into the news chain. The terror warnings must appear to be “genuine”. The objective is to present the terror groups as “enemies of America.”

Ironically, Al Qaeda –the “outside enemy of America” as well as the alleged architect of the 9/11 attacks– is a creation of the CIA.

From the outset of the Soviet-Afghan war in the early 1980s, the US intelligence apparatus has supported the formation of the “Islamic brigades”. Propaganda purports to erase the history of Al Qaeda, drown the truth and “kill the evidence” on how this “outside enemy” was fabricated and transformed into “Enemy Number One”.

The US intelligence apparatus has created it own terrorist organizations. And at the same time, it creates its own terrorist warnings concerning the terrorist organizations which it has itself created. Meanwhile, a cohesive multibillion dollar counterterrorism program “to go after” these terrorist organizations has been put in place.

Portrayed in stylized fashion by the Western media, Osama bin Laden, supported by his various henchmen, constitutes America’s post-Cold war bogeyman, who “threatens Western democracy”. The alleged threat of “Islamic terrorists”, permeates the entire US national security doctrine. Its purpose is to justify wars of aggression in the Middle East, while establishing within America, the contours of the Homeland Security State.

    SNIP

    Washington’s Hidden Agenda

U.S. foreign policy is not geared towards curbing the tide of Islamic fundamentalism. In fact, it is quite the opposite. The significant development of “radical Islam”, in the wake of the Cold War in the former Soviet Union and the Middle East is consistent with Washington’s hidden agenda. The latter consists in sustaining rather than combating international terrorism, with a view to destabilizing national societies and preventing the articulation of genuine secular social movements directed against the American Empire.

Washington continues to support — through CIA covert operations — the development of Islamic fundamentalism, throughout the Middle East, in the former Soviet Union as well in China and India.

Throughout the developing world, the growth of sectarian, fundamentalist and other such organizations tends to serve U.S. interests. These various organizations and armed insurgents have been developed, particularly in countries where state institutions have collapsed under the brunt of the IMF-sponsored economic reforms.

These fundamentalist organizations contribute by destroying and displacing secular institutions.

Islamic fundamentalism creates social and ethnic divisions. It undermines the capacity of people to organize against the American Empire. These organizations or movements, such as the Taliban, often foment “opposition to Uncle Sam” in a way which does not constitute any real threat to America’s broader geopolitical and economic interests.

Erasing the History of Al Qaeda

Since September 2001, this history of Al Qaeda has largely been erased. The links of successive US administrations to the “Islamic terror network” is rarely mentioned.

A major war in the Middle East and Central Asia, supposedly “against international terrorism” was launched in October 2001 by a government which had been harboring international terrorism as part of its foreign policy agenda. In other words, the main justification for waging war on Afghanistan and Iraq has been totally fabricated. The American people have been deliberately and consciously misled by their government.

This decision to mislead the American people was taken on September 11, 2001 barely a few hours after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre. Without supporting evidence, Osama had already been tagged as the “prime suspect”. Two days later on Thursday the 13th of September — while the FBI investigation had barely commenced — President Bush pledged to “lead the world to victory”.

While the CIA tacitly acknowledges that Al Qaeda was an “intelligence asset” during the Cold War, the relationship is said to “go way back” to a bygone era.

Most post-September 11 news reports tend to consider that these Al Qaeda -CIA links belong to the “bygone era” of the Soviet-Afghan war. They are invariably viewed as irrelevant to an understanding of 9/11 and the “Global War on Terrorism”. Yet barely a few months before 9/11, there was evidence of active collaboration between members of the US military and Al Qaeda operatives in the civil war in Macedonia.

Lost in the barrage of recent history, the role of the CIA, in supporting and developing international terrorist organizations during the Cold War and its aftermath, is casually ignored or downplayed by the Western media.

A blatant example of post-9/11 media distortion is the “blowback” thesis: “Intelligence assets” are said to “have gone against their sponsors; what we’ve created blows back in our face”.1 In a display of twisted logic, the U.S. administration and the CIA are portrayed as the ill-fated victims:

The sophisticated methods taught to the Mujahideen, and the thousands of tons of arms supplied to them by the U.S. — and Britain — are now tormenting the West in the phenomenon known as “blowback”, whereby a policy strategy rebounds on its own devisers.(The Guardian, London, 15 September 2001)

The U.S. media, nonetheless, concedes that “the Taliban’s coming to power [in 1996] is partly the outcome of the U.S. support of the Mujahideen — the radical Islamic group — in the 1980s in the war against the Soviet Union”. 3 But it also readily dismisses its own factual statements and concludes, in chorus, that the CIA had been tricked by a deceitful Osama. It’s like “a son going against his father”.

The Post 9/11 “War on Terrorism”

The “blowback” thesis is a fabrication.

The CIA never severed its ties to the “Islamic Militant Network”. There is ample evidence that Al Qaeda remains a US sponsored intelligence asset.

Al Qaeda is presented as the architect of 9/11 without ever mentioning its historical links to the CIA and Pakistan’s ISI.

While Al Qaeda remains firmly under the control of the US intelligence apparatus, the US administration has repeatedly intimated that this “outside enemy” will strike again, that a “second 9/11’ will occur somewhere in America or in the western World:

McCain doesn’t know if condoms help stop the spread of HIV

There are so many reasons John McCain should not be President. But an interaction with a reporter today on his Not-So-Straight Talk bus pretty much confirmed it.

McCain was stumped by a very simple question — a question that can be answered with a modicum of research. He was stumped by a question that can mean the difference between life and death. He was stumped by a question that every responsible adult in American should know the answer to. He doesn’t know if condoms can help stop the spread of HIV. Seriously:

Q: “What about grants for sex education in the United States? Should they include instructions about using contraceptives? Or should it be Bush’s policy, which is just abstinence?”

Mr. McCain: (Long pause) “Ahhh. I think I support the president’s policy.”

Q: “So no contraception, no counseling on contraception. Just abstinence. Do you think contraceptives help stop the spread of HIV?”

Mr. McCain: (Long pause) “You’ve stumped me.”

Q: “I mean, I think you’d probably agree it probably does help stop it?”

Mr. McCain: (Laughs) “Are we on the Straight Talk express? I’m not informed enough on it. Let me find out. You know, I’m sure I’ve taken a position on it on the past. I have to find out what my position was. Brian, would you find out what my position is on contraception – I’m sure I’m opposed to government spending on it, I’m sure I support the president’s policies on it.”

Q: “But you would agree that condoms do stop the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Would you say: ‘No, we’re not going to distribute them,’ knowing that?”

Mr. McCain: (Twelve-second pause) “Get me Coburn’s thing, ask Weaver to get me Coburn’s paper that he just gave me in the last couple of days. I’ve never gotten into these issues before.”

Could John McCain be this much of an idiot? Could he be so stupid about basic health policy? Could he be so beholden to the theocrats that he wouldn’t answer such an obvious question?

Whatever the answer, John McCain shouldn’t be President.

  5. Randall Robinson who was head of TransAfrica and has written the semi-biographical “Defending the Spirit” describes McCain as vindictive and hostile. No he is not an idiot, he is a hypocrite. He rightfully described the right wing evangelical cadre as the nutty vagabons they are, but turned around this election cycle to pander to them because of his political ambitions.

That straight talk hype is a creation of the American Media who makes up heros by fudging the truth and not deeply examining their positions. John McCain has never been an exponent of straight talk any more than Ananias or Copernicus could be credited with that predisposition.

  6. Humphrey we remember well the run in he had with Jerry Falwell and people of his elk. Did he not call them agents of intolerance because of their pro-life and anti-homosexual positions?
Now for to win the presidency he has to court the evangelicals. Maybe you are correct that he is a hypocrite.

  7. Speaking of John McCain, folks might get a chuckle at McCain in this Youtube video. I believe it is a snip from a documentary called “Why We Fight” ( http://www.sonyclassics.com/whywefight/ ).

In this Youtube clip at around the 4:20 mark McCain is being interviewed and he is holding forth on the corruption allegations surrounding the Halliburton company and calling for Congressional hearings, investigations etc. of Halliburton.

Halliburton, of course, has been the recipient of much of Uncle Sam’s largess in recent years. There have been allegations of impropriety in the way Halliburton (and other contracting outfits too) were given no bid and very profitable cost plus contracts for support work in Iraq and in the “war on terror.” Remember VP Dick Cheney served as Halliburton’s CEO and there have been allegations floating around that his office improperly intervened to direct some of these very profitable contracts to his old Halliburton chums.

Anyway, right as McCain is in the middle of bad mouthing Dick’s old “Alma Mater” , so to speak, to to the media, the interview is interrupted by his staff who tell him he has an important incoming phone call – blow me down if it is none other than Big Dick Cheney himself on the horn wanting to have words with McCain.

As McCain breaks away from the interview to take the call you can see a really worried look flit across his face, almost like he is thinking, “Oh S***, what could Dick want me for? Oh Lord, I hope he didn’t hear what I was just saying about his pals at Halliburton.” LOL

  8. Events like this always help to remind the idealists among us that we should never forget the influencial shadows which are always lurking behind our political leaders.

Let us test its relevance to Barbados.

  9. “Mr. McCain: (Laughs) “Are we on the Straight Talk express? I’m not informed enough on it. Let me find out.”

If you will allow the original “Straight talk” to express his opinion.

McCain is a neo-con patsy whose corporate backers will relish the fight against a resurging Barack, now that their place(wo)man Hillary seems to have shot her bolt.

This coming election will be a humdinger, the will of the people and the constitution versus the new world order and their voting shenanigans.

Expect anything and everything, there is everything to lose.

  10. Whilst son George W was in the Florida primary school getting to grips with the deeper meanings within “My Pet Goat “, father GHW Bush was meeting with Osama bin Laden’s brother, Shafig bin Laden, in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Washington, on the morning of 9/11.

Unbelievably strange these coincidences, aren’t they?

  11. How the spooks took over the news

In his controversial new book, Nick Davies argues that shadowy intelligence agencies are pumping out black propaganda to manipulate public opinion – and that the media simply swallow it wholesale

    By Nick Davies

11/02/08 “The Independent” — – On the morning of 9 February 2004, The New York Times carried an exclusive and alarming story. The paper’s Baghdad correspondent, Dexter Filkins, reported that US officials had obtained a 17-page letter, believed to have been written by the notorious terrorist Abu Musab al Zarqawi to the “inner circle” of al-Qa’ida’s leadership, urging them to accept that the best way to beat US forces in Iraq was effectively to start a civil war.

The letter argued that al-Qa’ida, which is a Sunni network, should attack the Shia population of Iraq: “It is the only way to prolong the duration of the fight between the infidels and us. If we succeed in dragging them into a sectarian war, this will awaken the sleepy Sunnis.”

Later that day, at a regular US press briefing in Baghdad, US General Mark Kimmitt dealt with a string of questions about The New York Times report: “We believe the report and the document is credible, and we take the report seriously… It is clearly a plan on the part of outsiders to come in to this country and spark civil war, create sectarian violence, try to expose fissures in this society.” The story went on to news agency wires and, within 24 hours, it was running around the world.

There is very good reason to believe that that letter was a fake – and a significant one because there is equally good reason to believe that it was one product among many from a new machinery of propaganda which has been created by the United States and its allies since the terrorist attacks of September 2001.

For the first time in human history, there is a concerted strategy to manipulate global perception. And the mass media are operating as its compliant assistants, failing both to resist it and to expose it.

The sheer ease with which this machinery has been able to do its work reflects a creeping structural weakness which now afflicts the production of our news. I’ve spent the last two years researching a book about falsehood, distortion and propaganda in the global media.

    Continued at:
    http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article19328.htm

The author of the above seems to think this feeding of propaganda to the mainstream media followed by its willing regurgitation to the public is something new, but it has been going on at least since the days of the Cold War. Just read up about “Operation Mockingbird” where the CIA infiltrated media outlets in the US and overseas and had journalist on the CIA payroll to spread pro-US propaganda as fed to them by the CIA.

“You could get a journalist cheaper than a good call girl, for a couple hundred dollars a month.” – CIA operative discussing with Philip Graham, editor Washington Post, on the availability and prices of journalists willing to peddle CIA propaganda and cover stories. “Katherine The Great,” by Deborah Davis (New York: Sheridan Square Press, 1991)

As terrible as it is to live in a nation where the press in known to be controlled by the government, at least one has the advantage of knowing the bias is present, and to adjust for it. In the United States of America, we are taught from birth that our press is free from such government meddling. This is an insideous lie about the very nature of the news institution in this country. One that allows the government to lie to us while denying the very fact of the lie itself.

    http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/RANCHO/POLITICS/MOCK/mockingbird.html

  12. We agree that propaganda is nothing new and has been used in successive wars for protagonists to brainwash the masses usually. There is the perception that only government controlled channels use propaganda techniques. This is a myth and the current Iraq debacle is proof that the ‘other’ side has become quite adept at pumping propaganda as well. We consider it all part of strategy. This is why our media must be vigilant to sniff out the real stories.

How we miss Gladston Holder and Oliver Jackman, two men who used their vast knowledge and experience, connected to basic tenets of the Fourth Estate to deliver telling insights!!!

  13. Rule by fear or rule by law?

    Lewis Seiler,Dan Hamburg

    Monday, February 4, 2008

“The power of the Executive to cast a man into prison without formulating any charge known to the law, and particularly to deny him the judgment of his peers, is in the highest degree odious and is the foundation of all totalitarian government whether Nazi or Communist.” – Winston Churchill, Nov. 21, 1943

Since 9/11, and seemingly without the notice of most Americans, the federal government has assumed the authority to institute martial law, arrest a wide swath of dissidents (citizen and noncitizen alike), and detain people without legal or constitutional recourse in the event of “an emergency influx of immigrants in the U.S., or to support the rapid development of new programs.”

Beginning in 1999, the government has entered into a series of single-bid contracts with Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) to build detention camps at undisclosed locations within the United States. The government has also contracted with several companies to build thousands of railcars, some reportedly equipped with shackles, ostensibly to transport detainees.

According to diplomat and author Peter Dale Scott, the KBR contract is part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME, which sets as its goal the removal of “all removable aliens” and “potential terrorists.”

Fraud-busters such as Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Los Angeles, have complained about these contracts, saying that more taxpayer dollars should not go to taxpayer-gouging Halliburton. But the real question is: What kind of “new programs” require the construction and refurbishment of detention facilities in nearly every state of the union with the capacity to house perhaps millions of people?

    SNIP

What could the government be contemplating that leads it to make contingency plans to detain without recourse millions of its own citizens?

The Constitution does not allow the executive to have unchecked power under any circumstances. The people must not allow the president to use the war on terrorism to rule by fear instead of by law.

Lewis Seiler is the president of Voice of the Environment, Inc. Dan Hamburg, a former congressman, is executive director.
