Well folks we thought long and hard about publishing this note received from an anonymous source but we decided to put it out there to see what came back. We wish to issue the disclaimer that we at BU have been unable to cross check the story. What we can say is that David Ellis when asked repeatedly on the many call-in programs which he currently hosts over the years, he has always denied any interest in politics to the point of declaring himself a candidate for either party. Additionally BU is aware that Frundel Stuart has been declared the DLP candidate in the next election. For David Ellis to run Stuart would have to step aside. We at BU are also aware that the BLP spin doctors have started to do its work!
Note received this morning:
Is David Ellis being recruited to run for the DLP in Noel Lynch’s riding? Sources close to the DLP recruiting committee have not denied or confirmed that Ellis met at a secret location with top DLP people on several occasions in the very recent past. Ellis is considered a well-balanced and educated individual, suitable to make an excellent candidate. It is felt he has the qualities to be groomed for possible high offices within the party. It is also felt that he will garnish a high number of sympathy votes resulting from his one-on-one with the arrogant minister of tourism. Many feel he, [as a media practitioner] was abandoned by the powers that be in his own profession.
Would it not be ironic that after the next elections, he has some input to hand out a TV license? A word to both the market vendor and his assistants. “The same stone that is cast aside, eventually becomes the cornerstone”

As an adjunct to this story we just wanted to know after reading the BLP blog tonight: How did Minister Lynch acquire the wealth to buy a 2 million plantation on a Minister’s salary? The reality is that despite your argument whether Ellis was wrong or right to ask the question; the people still want to know. BU wish to assure the Minister that this will be an election issue.

There can be no doubt that that dastardly act by David Ellis, which took place in the studio of StarCom Network on the Sunday�s programme of Brass Tacks will find its rightful place in the law court, thus making the matter subjudice. Paddy will not interfere with the due process of law.

Yes David Ellis will run for the DLP when the man in Black Rock think the time is right.
It seems as though the person who provided the information likes to spin top in mud. David Ellis has always been the total professional and has never been approached by anyone in the DLP to run as a candidate for the party. The DLP has put in place since 2006 all of its candidates and not withsatnding any unforseen circumstances will take all of them into the next election. Let us all be careful of malicously orchestrated propoganda.

I just read the post over on the BLP Blog entitled “Ellis Blunder” and the question still needs to be asked. Where has Minister Lynch who was an “ordinary” folk less than a few years ago; accrue assets to buy a plantation reoutedly worth 2 million?
