CoopEnergy has responded to today’s full page announcement by government (BAMC) on why it terminated the much publicised arrangement with CoopEnergy Barbados.

Following numerous requests from members of the Press after today’s news release from BAMC, we are happy to share a recent News Update that was sent to all of our members following our AGM held on 25 October 2025.

We believe that this clarifies our position on the agreement between Government / BAMC and CoopEnergy, re the divestment of BAMC’s sugar operations.

We will reserve any response to the latest BAMC news release until it becomes clear who exactly is speaking on their behalf. Particularly since the author is obviously not fully apprised of all the facts.

Regards

Trevor Browne

President

CoopEnergy Barbados

  1. According to @NO it is “too sweet” that Chairman Clyde Mascoll’s head is big enuff to wear two hats. Only in BIM!

“and suggests government and BAMC had operated in bad faith”.
    Suggests?
You got played. Ain’t the first nor the last.
Given the first military member they screwed is now to be President, maybe Vice President Browne is forthcoming 😜🤐🤬

  3. @NO

Mascoll, Weir, the government couldn’t reasonably expect serious investors to sign off without audited financials and a serious inspection of the entity’s asset register?

    @David
    The unstated objectives were achieved.

  5. @NO

Browne seems to be a straight shooter and along with his BOARD (may not be current) seem a heady group of people.

    • Lt. Col. Trevor T. Browne — President.
    • Bro. Hally Haynes — Vice-President.
    • Sis. Juliet Best-Brathwaite — Secretary.
    • Bro. Oriel Doyle — Treasurer.
    • Bro. Aidan Rogers — 2nd Vice-President.
    • Bro. Cedric Murrell — Assistant Secretary.
    • Bro. Hugh McClean — Director.

Weeee can all get played from time to time.
I have been guilty on several occasions.
From the response, lest we forget, another MP, one of the longest running members of the NIS Board, should be asked if their membership deserves moore?

  7. Trump has thrown out windmills and photovoltaics…….. and USAID ….. the $$$$$ behind them.

Miss Mockley is embracing windmills and photovoltaics even more ……. and the lack of $$$$$.

Miss Mockley has a big problem.

She is trying to convert the acres of land sugar occupied and used during 1940 – 1970 to housing against the “stated wishes” of her Minister of Agriculture and not getting the bang for the buck as sugar gave the island in this short period,

Lt. Col. Browne is trying to get ownership of land he cannot get …..
because of how it is currently owned, and Miss Mockleys hands are tied.

Miss Mockley’s hands are tied by the way the land is owned.

She has to ignore it and hope the current owners don’t and their heirs and assigns don’t start holding out their hands ……

…. plus ….. she isn’t even the PM, …… nor is the Minister of Agriculture the Minister of Agriculture.
