Submitted by Grenville Phillips II

We have been asked how we would have responded to COVID-19.  We provided our best advice about one year ago, but the Government rejected it at that time.  Given the foreseen nightmare scenario, they should reconsider – for all our sakes.

In the past 15 days, we had 15 new deaths.  In the previous 15 days, we had 7.  In the previous 15, we had none, as shown in the attached graph.  This wave of deaths appears to have started after the UK variant arrived in Barbados.

On 3 March 2021, we can expect a total of 44 deaths if the growth rate is linear, or 59 if it is exponential.  If the growth is exponential, as the data suggests, then we can expect a total of over 100 deaths by 18 March 2021.  The assumed growth rate may be verified on 3 March 2021.

GOOD MANAGEMENT.

The only way to avoid the nightmare exponential growth scenario, is to manage all aspects of the COVID-19 response well.  We cannot risk using our home-grown management methods to manage this pandemic anymore.  Those methods have consistently failed us over the past 50 years.

When our management systems failed, the normal consequences were being forced to pay higher taxes, to wait longer for declining standards of service.  There were blips of improvement, but that only lasted until the quality employee was seen as a threat, and was made redundant.

Bad management only appears to work if there are few customers and products.  Once the number of customers and products increases, the system normally fails.  When it fails, the only thing left is public relations to give sorry excuses.  If the public relations is effective, the customers will blame themselves.

GOOD ADVICE.

It seems that we must comply with the WHO and PAHO requirements to receive their assistance.  Therefore, we must keep our borders open.  However, we should mandate that all visitors to Barbados must be properly quarantined at authorised facilities, for 14 days – no exceptions.

We should manage the: air and sea ports, transportation to quarantine facilities, quarantine facilities, QEH and other health clinics, isolation facility at Harrison point, contact tracing, and the Best Dos Santos lab, to ISO 9001 principles.  Even at this late stage, all of that can still be accomplished within 2 weeks.

REJECTING AN INTERNATIONAL STANDARD.

For some strange reason, the Government rejected the international management standard when I first recommended it about 17 years ago.  I since repeatedly offered to implement it in all statutory corporations in Barbados, free of cost.  But no takers.

About 3 years ago, all statutory corporation CEOs were invited to a free public workshop on implementing the standard.  They were guaranteed that following the training, they would be capable of implementing the ISO 9001 principles the following day.  Not a single CEO attended.  The Government has since publicly trashed the international standard – for political reasons.

NOT HAPPENING.

Based on my 17 years of active efforts, I do not expect the Government to consider the desperately needed international management standard at this time.  Especially since it is designed to delight customers with exceptional service, and eliminate corruption.  We simply cannot reject our 50-year cultural traditions so easily.  That is not who we are.

The weakness of our management system is evident, with over 30 unnecessary deaths.  Yet, we persist with it, and continue to reject the obvious solution.  Instead of surrendering our pride, retreating from what is not working, and embracing what will, we are encouraged to stay the course – to foreseen destruction.

LETTER FROM THE FUTURE.

I expect the Government will finally see the light in May 2021.  That is when the total forecasted deaths from exponential growth exceed 1,000, and we should get a scathing rebuke from the WHO for our politically motivated stubbornness.

At that time, we would wish that we could go back in time to this point, and change-course to avoid the foreseen and likely nightmare.  Well, think of this as a letter from the future, encouraging us to do just that.

They introduced it to Turkey, and from there to the UK, then US. It was Onesimus the slave who taught his maser Cotton Mather, who went on to historical fame.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The simple answer to your question from a while back as to whether Cotton Mather was a Quaker is no, he was a Puritan.

… but if you want a little history read on!!

“He was born in Boston, Massachusetts Bay Colony, the son of Maria (née Cotton) and Increase Mather, and grandson of both John Cotton and Richard Mather, all also prominent Puritan ministers.”

John Cotton you no doubt would remember was the Puritan Minister who gave an address to the Winthrop fleet when it set sail to found the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1630.

He was Vicar of Boston in Old England emigrated during the “Great Puritan Migration” and became Vicar of the first Church in Boston in New England.

In all likelihood he would have passed through Barbados on his way to the Massachusetts Bay Colony.

No doubt you have heard of “Cotton House Bay” at Enterprise, possibly a descendant of his lived there and was engaged in trade, probably from that bay.

Another explanation favoured by Woodville Marshall in his book “Of Hills and Holes” is that it the name was associated with the growing of cotton in the area.

Interestingly, a descendant of John Winthrop, Samuel, became a Quaker in the 1660’s and lived in Barbados for a while where he was engaged in trade.

He subsequently relocated to Antigua or St. Kitts if memory serves me right where he died.

  3. The whole of Barbados was at one point associated with the growing of cotton. It was TB that brought an end to that – and not a vaccine in sight.
One of the ironies of the reparations and black history arguments is that very few of our scholars engage in the archaeology of our history.
What we call Obeah, or voodoo, has an enormous amount of medical positives. The slaves laws and early colonialism forced out that part of our history. Despite being at the cutting edge of science, the Chinese protect their traditional medicines.
We go round and round in circles about this. One reason why @Robert Lucas is missing from the blog. He can contribute so much.

  4. For all the assholes pushing a TRIAL VACCINE as mandatory on others without knowing the contents OR EFFECTS, hope they push 5 syringes up ya ignorant tails…at least educate yourselves first…at least wait until ya sure the vaccine is safe…to date we don’t know the contents or HOW OFTEN THEY’RE TWEAKING IT or what they’re adding…to get desired outcomes….it’s a vaccine, trial and error.

“I gathered all vaccine ingredients into a list and contacted Poison Control. After intros and such, and asking to speak with someone tenured and knowledgeable, this is the gist of that conversation.
Me: My question to you is how are these ingredients categorized? As benign or poison? (I ran a few ingredients, formaldehyde, Tween 80, mercury, aluminum, phenoxyethanol, potassium phosphate, sodium phosphate, sorbitol, etc.)
He: Well, that’s quite a list… But I’d have to easily say that they’re all toxic to humans… Used in fertilizers… Pesticides… To stop the heart… To preserve a dead body… They’re registered with us in different categories, but pretty much poisons. Why?
Me: If I were deliberately to feed or inject my child with these ingredients often, as a schedule, obviously I’d put my daughter in harm’s way… But what would legally happen to me?
He: Odd question… But you’d likely be charged with criminal negligence… perhaps with intent to kill… and of course child abuse… Your child would be taken away from you… Do you know of someone’s who’s doing this to their child? This is criminal…
Me: An industry… These are the ingredients used in vaccines… With binding agents to make sure the body won’t flush these out… To keep the antibody levels up indefinitely…
    He: WHAT?!
    Your conclusion?
The man was beside himself. He asked if I would email him all this information. He wanted to share it with his adult kids who are parents. He was horrified and felt awful he didn’t know… his kids are vaccinated and they have health issues…”

✅INGREDIENTS TO VACCINES – You CANNOT make an educated decision without being educated.
Here are just SOME vaccine ingredients.
    These are being INJECTED into your kids;
◾Formaldehyde/Formalin – Highly toxic systematic poison and carcinogen.
◾Betapropiolactone – Toxic chemical and carcinogen. May cause death/permanant injury after very short exposure to small quantities. Corrosive chemical.
◾Hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide – May cause damage to the liver, cardiovascular system, and central nervous system. May cause reproductive effects and birth defects.
◾Aluminum hydroxide, aluminum phosphate, and aluminum salts – Neurotoxin. Carries risk for long term brain inflammation/swelling, neurological disorders, autoimmune disease, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and autism. It penetrates the brain where it persists indefinitely.
◾Thimerosal (mercury) – Neurotoxin. Induces cellular damage, reduces oxidation-reduction activity, cellular degeneration, and cell death. Linked to neurological disorders, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and autism.
◾Polysorbate 80 & 20 – Trespasses the Blood-Brain Barrier and carries with it aluminum, thimerosal, and viruses; allowing it to enter the brain.
◾Glutaraldehyde – Toxic chemical used as a disinfectant for heat sensitive medical equipment.
◾Fetal Bovine Serum – Harvested from bovine (cow) fetuses taken from pregnant cows before slaughter.
◾Human Diploid Fibroblast Cells – aborted fetal cells. Foreign DNA has the ability to interact with our own.
◾African Green Monkey Kidney Cells – Can carry the SV-40 cancer-causing virus that has already tainted about 30 million Americans.
◾Acetone – Can cause kidney, liver, and nerve damage.
◾E.Coli – Yes, you read that right.
◾DNA from porcine (pig) Circovirus type-1
◾Human embryonic lung cell cultures (from aborted fetuses)
✳You can view all of these ingredients on the CDCs website. I encourage everyone to do their own research. Look up the MSDS on these chemicals. Read the thousands of peer reviewed studies that have evaluated the biological consequences these chemicals can have on the body, especially when being injected.

    Disgusting Lies & Propaganda TV

“I believe evidence over publicity. Only a very naive person thinks that this virus comes from eating a bat.”

@Crusoe A lot of these viruses are zoonotic in origin…MERS was said to be transferred from camels, the original SARS-COV came from bats, HIV came from a similar virus in apes. There have been different flus that have “jumped” species. There also have been a few stories where COVID-19 have been found in zoo animals which is hardly far fetched. Coronaviruses is a broad group of viruses that can be found in different mammal species. The bat, due to evolution, is know to be able survive with different pathogens
But that is not to say that it is outside the realm of possibility that a virus can be modified in a lab.

  7. Jan. 28, 2021 — China is not giving up on nasal or throat testing, but the country has adopted a new method for detecting the coronavirus: anal swabs. Anal testing is being used so far only on select groups, mainly high-risk cases and people in quarantine.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So if the Chinese are finding the virus while anal swabbing it stands to reason that COVID could be spread by fecal matter getting into water …. like polio, also caused by a virus.

Does chlorination of water remove viruses or only bacteria?

“Although several methods eliminate disease-causing microorganisms in water, chlorination is the most commonly used. Chlorination is effective against many pathogenic bacteria, but at normal dosage rates it does not kill all viruses, cysts, or worms.”

It follows that chlorination of water did not end the polio outbreak back in 1963.

Whatever was done in 1933 plus the vaccinations did it.

Back to another of Donald Trump’s suggestions, UV light!!

Maybe the Reservoirs should have UV lights installed in their roofs to deal with viruses.

    Here is another option.

  8. “Boiling water kills or inactivates viruses, bacteria, protozoa and other pathogens by using heat to damage structural components and disrupt essential life processes (e.g. denature proteins). Boiling is not sterilization and is more accurately characterized as pasteurization.”

  9. I am beginning to wonder if the authorities, instead of locking up people for not wearing masks or breaking curfew, should just advise people to boil their water and move if they have not done so already to install UV purification systems at the reservoirs.

  10. “There are parts of North West London and East London where there are high incidences of tuberculosis and now CoVid; again, how do you explain that?”

This sounds like a loaded question and I am weary and wary of your rambling mumbling and grumbling.

  17. In Germany, everyone who wants a coronavirus vaccine should receive one by September. But this plan will only work if millions of people accept the vaccine produced by AstraZeneca.
Six security guards are standing on the wide, empty road leading to the disused Tegel Airport in Berlin. Their yellow high-visibility vests are glowing in the sun. The men are guarding the entrance to a coronavirus vaccination center, which has been set up in what was once Terminal C of the airport.
They don’t have much to do. Between three and five vaccination candidates arrive every hour, a guard says when asked. “That’s all.”
At Tegel, only the vaccine produced by the British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca is available. Because of a lack of studies into its effects on older people, the vaccine has been approved in Germany for people younger than 65. In this age group, vaccinations are currently only available for people with underlying health conditions and members of groups with an increased risk of infection because of their occupations.
Doctors, nurses and other medical staff often reject AstraZeneca because the vaccine is believed to be less effective against the coronavirus mutations than the mRNA vaccines from BioNTech-Pfizer and Moderna. Nationwide, only 87,000 of the 736,800 AstraZeneca vaccine doses delivered to date have been used, according to Germany’s disease agency, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI)…..(Quote)

The AstraZeneca vaccine: What it’s made of and how long it takes to work

How is it made and what are the ingredients?
The AstraZeneca vaccine produced in collaboration with Oxford University uses a genetically modified and harmless version of a common cold viral vector (known as an adenovirus) from chimpanzees.

The modified virus is able to grow in humans without causing illness and it is made to look like a coronavirus which triggers an immune response in the body.
When the vaccine is injected into a patient, the body starts producing antibodies to fight the virus. This process primes the body to attack any Covid-19 infection in the future.
The adenovirus has been previously utilised to produce vaccines against the flu, Zika virus, and Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).

According to the University of Oxford’s Vaccine Knowledge Project, like all other living things, viruses and bacteria need to be kept at the right pH (acid/alkaline level). A number of different products are used in very small quantities to help keep the pH balance right while vaccines are being manufactured.
Here are the ingredients of the vaccine as provided in the AstraZeneca patient information leaflet:
    – Chimpanzee Adenovirus – The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine uses a cell line called HEK-293 cells. The original cells were taken from the kidney of a legally aborted foetus in 1973.

HEK-293 cells used nowadays are clones of those original cells, but are not themselves the cells of the aborted foetus.
    – L-Histidine – this is an amino acid that is also used for arthritis, allergic diseases, ulcers, and anemia caused by kidney failure or kidney dialysis.
    – L-Histidine hydrochloride monohydrate – this is considered to be an effective source of the essential amino acid to l‐histidine.
    – Magnesium chloride hexahydrate – this compound is used in medicine as a source of magnesium ions, which are essential for many cellular activities.
    – Polysorbate 80 (E 433)- this ingredient acts as an emulsifier or an additive which helps liquids to mix and is often used in foods and cosmetics.
    – Ethanol, also called alcohol, plays an important role in the vaccine preservation process.
    – Sucrose, or sugar, is used as a stabiliser and to keep the vaccine effective after manufactured.
    – Sodium chloride – this is the chemical name for salt and it is used to help boost the body’s response to the vaccine.
    – Disodium edetate (dihydrate) – this also serves as a preservative in the vaccine.
    – Water for injections.

The AstraZeneca vaccination course consists of two separate doses of 0.5 ml each. The second dose should be administered between 1-3 months after the first dose.
Generally, a protective effect against Covid-19 starts to develop 7-10 days after immunisation, although people may not be fully protected until 15 days after the second dose is administered.
A pre-print study in The Lancet, found the vaccine gives around 76% protection after the first dose and after an inter-dose interval of 12 weeks or more, the vaccine efficacy increased to 82%.
The study also found that the vaccine provided full protection against severe disease and kept people out of hospital more than three weeks after the first dose.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it typically takes a few weeks for the body to build immunity after vaccination.
“That means it’s possible a person could be infected with the virus that causes Covid-19 just before or just after vaccination and still get sick. This is because the vaccine has not had enough time to provide protection,” reads the statement on the website.
Even those who have received their second doses of the vaccine and are possibly fully protected are urged to continue following lockdown measures, as this is widely viewed as the best method of protection at the moment.

    Questions ask:
After getting a COVID-19 vaccine, will I test positive for COVID-19 on a viral test?

No. Neither the recently authorized and recommended vaccines nor the other COVID-19 vaccines currently in clinical trials in the United States can cause you to test positive on viral tests, which are used to see if you have a current infection.
If your body develops an immune response—the goal of vaccination—there is a possibility you may test positive on some antibody tests. Antibody tests indicate you had a previous infection and that you may have some level of protection against the virus. Experts are currently looking at how COVID-19 vaccination may affect antibody testing results.

You probably researched this information prior. However, it won’t hurt…😅

Glad to see Master Johnny, the pale parrot, has returned to his bailiwick of aquatic matters after coming, finally, to the starkly sane realization that the salvation of the West African through chattel slavery, the hypocrisy of the Quakers and the inevitable disappearance of that political ‘has-been’ D.J. Trump are now nothing more than sordid pages in the chapter of the recent but very ugly history.

Now that you can now ‘connect-up’ the role of the old WWD to the vast improvements in public health which led to improved life expectancy rates among Barbadians in general, you should also look back in remorse at your claim that the vast majority of the black slaves in Barbados had a beautiful long life strictly as a result of the excellent health services provided by their masters and to which not even the poor-white red legs and back-row Johnnies were entitled.

What you should be offering as enlightenment to the BU family are your thoughts not only about the role of (expensive) UV treatment of water for potable use but also the risks of contamination (both faecal and chemical) posed by the many suck wells sunk in the last 60 years to store and to take away both liquid and solid waste from the many households across Barbados.

Now, we don’t want to hear anything about the role of the long-dead Quakers in bring water to the black masses while you look back through rose-tinted glasses at some imaginary halcyon past.

The reason why cholera was so devastating to Barbados was because the systems of health on individual plantations had been dismantled with emancipation.

Individuals became individually responsible for their health, housing, meals and clothes.

Who suffered most were the children.

There were slaves allocated to provide day care for children on larger plantations, even cooks earmarked to provide meals for the children.

Go look at the occupations for each slave in the slave registers and you will appreciate how “pubilic health” was addressed by each plantation.

    All that disappeared with emancipation.

By then there was an oversupply of labour to meet the demand.

That persisted right through to now.

Would you suggest a finger be pointed at those on whom your Supreme Leader still has stashed away in a red portmanteau a collection of controvertible evidence of financial infelicities?

So why are you going after, in a most cowardly manner on the political chess board, this land-based petty player of a financial drug mule while the same law enforcement guards turn a blind eye to the sharks like your sailor mate Herbert thereby allowing the Canadian barracudas to take possession of the profits in the now ‘legalised’ high-value medicinal mary jane business?

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The issue is not as simplistic as you want to make it out to be. What you seem to be implying is the freed slaves would have remained healthy had not for emancipation. You should look at how the planter class used the provision of health services as a item to be traded in exchange for their labour during the years immediately after emancipation and its consequences for the workers and by extension, the wider society.

The health care system was controlled by white people. Prior to abolition, slaves were regarded as property, similarly to horses, cows, other lives stock, carts, windmills and various other property owned by the plantation owners.
If a horse became sick the owner would seek the services of a vet, or if a cart wheel broke, he would hire a wheelwright. Similarly, when slaves became sick, it was the owners’ duty to provide them with the necessary health care.

After emancipation, although the former slaves were ‘free men and women,’ they were not thought of as part of the society. Yes, they “became individually responsible for their health” in a system where there was the existence of an ingrained prejudice against them and a general lack of concern for their welfare.

Additionally, medical services became scarce and very expensive when several European trained doctors from the British Caribbean migrated to Cuba, where the role of doctors was became increasingly important after slavery ended.

This in turn gave the planters an opportunity to manipulate the available health care services to their advantage. As such, health was treated as a commodity and used as a bargaining tool with workers in exchange for their labour, because the assumption was made sickness would force the former slaves back to the plantations to access health care. You also have to take into consideration the medical provisions outlined in the Emancipation Act.

    Miller,

As you know I belong to the multiverse of globalism. So, I see myself less as Argonaut, but as Odysseus the Cunning. BU is just a forum for me to ventilate liberal ideas on enlightenment, which I then spread around the globe after a few months.

Back to Barbados: The situation is desperate. We are facing the greatest challenge since General Bussa’s uprising. The virus is out of control on our island, but the tropical climate is preventing anything worse. The vaccination campaign is our only salvation. Even you must admit that our government is vaccinating at a world-record rate. If the supply works, we’ll be through by April. As fast as the clever Jews in Israel, faster than all developed countries in North America and Europe.

However, since the AZ vaccine is not that effective, we need an extremely high turnout for the vaccination campaign. Anyone who badmouths AZ’s vaccine in this catastrophic situation risks human lives. Of course, no minister claims that the AZ vaccine is the best. Our fellows need an update on the vaccination next year anyway, just like the annual flu shot. We must take the first step with AZ. In the second step, Biontech or Moderna might follow.

Wow, where you got this one from?

  41. John February 21, 2021 9:21 PM #: “Wow, where you got this one from?”

Obviously not from the same sources you get your information that romanticize slavery and gives us the impression Black people would’ve been better off if they had remained enslaved and on the plantation.

Rather than be dismissive of the point, why don’t you research it to prove me wrong?

  42. Black excellence, African genius.

Get rid of the enslaving, racist, poverty creating, prostitution inspiring, go nowhere tourism..it only suits imps, pimps and yardfowls.

“Jelani Nelson recently completed his doctoral studies in the Theory of Computation group at CSAIL in MIT, where he also completed undergraduate studies in mathematics and computer science (2005), and received an M.Eng. In computer science (2006). Jelani’s research has mostly focused on the development of efficient algorithms for massive datasets, and especially algorithms that use little memory and require only a single or few passes over the data (so-called “streaming algorithms”). Jelani will spend the next two years doing postdoctoral work at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, Princeton University, and the Institute for Advanced Study before joining the computer science faculty at Harvard.”

  43. Where do you think Jelani Nelson got his surname from?

COVID-19 May Hide in Brains and Cause Relapses
    By Carolyn Crist
    video_brain_650x350
Jan. 25, 2021 — The coronavirus may remain in people’s brains after infection and trigger relapses in patients who thought they had recovered, according to a new study published in the journal Viruses.

In the study, mice that were infected with the virus through their nasal passages developed severe illnesses due to brain infections, even after the virus left their lungs. In humans, this could explain why patients who appear to be over COVID-19 sometimes relapse and die.

“The brain is one of the regions where virus likes to hide,” Mukesh Kumar, the lead study author and a researcher at Georgia State University, said in a statement.

“That’s why we’re seeing severe disease and all these multiple symptoms like heart disease, stroke and all these long-haulers with loss of smell, loss of taste,” he said. “All of this has to do with the brain rather than with the lungs.”

The research team found that the virus was located in the brains of mice at a level that was 1,000 times higher than in any other part of the body. Viral loads in the lungs began to drop after three days but remained high in the brain on the fifth and sixth days after infection, which is when the disease became more severe.

“Once it infects the brain, it can affect anything because the brain is controlling your lungs, the heart, everything,” he said. “The brain is a very sensitive organ. It’s the central processor for everything.”

COVID-19 survivors whose infections reached their brain could also become susceptible to other serious medical conditions in the future, such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, cognitive decline and autoimmune diseases, he added.

“It’s scary,” he said. “A lot of people think they got COVID and they recovered and now they’re out of the woods. Now I feel like that’s never going to be true. You may never be out of the woods.”

THE QUESTION WAS Where do you think Jelani Nelson got his surname from? IT WAS NOT ABOUT GENIUS

  47. Slave names don’t count, you may feel proud about modeling a slavemaster name just as black John does,….but i posted about THE GENUIS born from an ancestral bloodline that INVENTED MATHEMATICS…..i did not post about a slave master name, it could’ve been any Black/African person with genius abilitites…no one with a modicum of intelligence pays attention to slave/slavemaster names anymore…

..the awakened people are changing them to reflect their African ancestry.

what does a slave name gotta do with an African descended genius.
