You have heard of technology moving on? You do realise that the above statement is untrue anyway, technically? The mechanisms in the various vaccines, being used to transport the active agents, have been worked on for years. They have been adapted for this virus.

Why can’t people just be REASONABLE?!
Critical Analyzer is right to question the efficacy and safety of the vaccine. It has been authorized for EMERGENGY USE because of the dire situation. Taking it must be a calculated risk. We must consider what is worse.
Since my son never leaves home now and I only do business twice a month, usually not at peak periods, I will be letting others go first. But I will probably take any vaccine offered eventually as it appears, at the very least, to stave off severe illness.
John Knox is also correct that it is mainly the co-morbidities that make this virus deadly. But these co-morbidities cannot be reversed overnight and some are too advanced to be reversed since the damage has already been done. He is also coldly correct in implying that survival of the physically fittest may benefit the country in some economical way by reducing our healthcare expenditure, for instance but that does not take into consideration what the physically “disabled” may contribute mentally and emotionally. That too has ramifications for our economy. No-one knows on which side the scale would come down. No-one can calculate the net value of these lives. Therefore all efforts must be made to preserve the lives of our mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, aunties uncles and all vulnerable people. This includes the elderly as most in this category have reduced immune strength and co-morbidities. We cannot use the exception as the example. The odds seem to favour the vaccine for these people.
In the meantime, we ALL should eat healthy, get outdoors more in the daytime, exercise moderately and appropriately and if not allowed to work, take the time either to learn something new or upgrade our skills. This makes us feel less helpless and gives us less time to brood. It also makes us more useful and prepared for the future. And… helping those less fortunate also benefits us emotionally. That’s another thing we can do. We can also build community. That makes us ALL stronger!
Next, I think the authorities have acknowledged that early treatment is often critical. I don’t have a clue as to what therapeutics are safe and effective. I will leave that to the various experts. I am not going to argue on that. What would be the point?
Nothing wrong with putting the various theories out there but NOT ONE PERSON can speak with absolute authority. This is a new virus.
SO…. we should not be political here. The virus is apolitical.
What is so hard about being reasonable? I find it absolutely LIBERATING!

This is the normal skepticism people have to things they do not know anything of until they educate themselves of the object they are skeptical of. However and sometimes, even when people are being “educated”, they still have this fear because their minds are filled will fantastical lies that appeal to their sense of mysticism. Sometimes they don’t even develop that skepticism to things they should really have a fear of.
For example when a new drug is advertised, a whole pamphlet size list of side effects are rattled off, yet people still take these drugs with little skepticism, even less so when prescribed by a doctor. There is a surgeon’s general warning on most cigarettes and tobacco products stating that SMOKING KILLS but the tobacco industry is still one of the biggest money making industries selling a purely luxury product that is known to be carcinogenic.
The fact is that paracetamol, aspirin, voltaren, remdesivir, hydroxychloroquine, tobacco, alcoholic drinks etc . are comparatively MORE DANGEROUS to the human body than vaccines. As 555dubstreet stated, vaccines help develop an ACQUIRED IMMUNITY safer than if that acquired immunity came from being infected by the live virus. The WORST that can happen is that the immune system does not acquire that immunity and you become sick directly from the virus itself. Vaccine side effects are specific to individuals, and not as broad as drugs. This is why ALL the major pharmaceutical companies are developing VACCINES as opposed to DRUGS to combat the COVID-19 virus. They provide a safe targeted response to a specific pathogen using your own body’s defense mechanism using proven “technology”. It is also why PAHO and WHO are still endorsing the Oxford vaccine. It MAY provide a weaker response to the South African strain but it can still protect you from at least 1, and more likely multiple, strains of Sars-Cov-2. And due to the nature of COVID-19 every person WILL catch it in their lifetime (unless you live on some remote atoll and never had contact with any other civilization)As to how come a vaccine could be developed in a year? I will use this analogy. A car company will release a 2019 model car. On further investigation, it MIGHT be very similar to the 2015 model to the extent that most of the parts are interchangeable. But what all cars have in common to the Ford Model T is that they all use an internal combustion engine and use pneumatic tyres, technology that is over a century old. Most modern vehicles cannot run without gasoline\diesel and\or tyres.
It is the same with COVID-19 and vaccines. Sars-Cov-2 is a new model coronavirus (novel coronavirus) but it is still a coronavirus. It might have more horsepower than SARS or MERS but it can be stopped using the same basic vaccine “technology” patented over a 100 years ago. I HIGHLY DOUBT any major pharmaceutical company will make and distribute an “intentionally” defective COVID-19 vaccine knowing the risk involved. The amount of media attention focused on this particular disease, the possible permanent damage to their “brand”. and initial competition with the other vaccines mean they risk loosing billions if they did so. -

Yes, prescription drugs kill 100,000s of people in the U.S. each year. Remember Vioxx??? I know how it works. The money making system.We have everything we need in terms of our immune system. We were created with all that we need. We don’t need vaccines to help us do anything. We simply need a clean, natural environment to maintain health. You know…..real non gmo, no pesticide(poison) food, clean water/air/soil. Have you ever researched the history of vaccines and germ theory? How come many long term smokers don’t get lung cancer? I am not supporting the smoking of cigarettes, I am simply asking if those who parrot these statements ever go and check the studies, the original data themselves to find out if what they are being told is true? Very few do. I have though for over 40 years and counting.
I’ve read all about COVID, SARS…etc. Fact is, and has been true up until this ‘vaccine’, that a SAFE ‘vaccine requires 5 – 10 years which includes animal trials. This new type of so-called vaccine is untested. Skipped animal safety trials which take years to complete before being given to humans. RESTLESS AND HOMELESS SHOPLIFTER NABBED
Two days after the news of the closure of the Barbados Alliance to End Homelessness’ shelter due to discovery of a COVID-19 case, one of its clients appeared in court on a stealing charge.
Today Shawn Anthony Butcher, 35, told the court that he had been at the shelter since February last year. However, he said he left last week Wednesday (February 3) as he was still using drugs and felt “restless”. He is awaiting the results of his PCR test.
One of the places Butcher visited since leaving the centre was a Savings Plus supermarket. On February 11 Butcher went into the store and ended up being charged with stealing four packs of biscuits.
Prosecutor Victoria Taitt told the court that around 9:40 a.m., Butcher was kept under observation by security while in the supermarket. On entering the store, he made his way to the area which displayed the oreo biscuits. He then went to the back of the store where he was seen fidgeting with his pocket.
The security personnel approached him but Butcher managed to escape. The camera footage, in the store, showed Butcher putting the items in his pocket before leaving.
Butcher returned to the store around 2:45 p.m. the same day and was eventually detained by security. After police were informed, Butcher was interviewed and admitted stealing and eating the biscuits. He also told officers that he had stolen items previously and returned for more.
Addressing Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes, Butcher said he last appeared in court in 2018 for possession of cannabis. He told the court that he was sent to Verdun House in respect of that charge.
During his nine-month stay at the rehabilitation centre, he said he left “prematurely”- a month before.
When asked why he left, Butcher admitted that he was still using drugs.
“Why are you homeless?” Weekes questioned.
“Because of my problem with stealing Sir…my mum doesn’t want me home Sir,” he responded, adding that he and his mother were experiencing problems at home.
Butcher also said he had a cocaine problem and sought help from the Psychiatric Hospital.
“I sought to go to Psychiatric Hospital for help Sir and they told me that the situation has changed there since COVID was introduced and they don’t allow any walkins nor they don’t admit you for the detox programme anymore,” he explained as the magistrate commended how articulate he was.
The court heard that Butcher had attended one of the island’s top schools and had eight CXC’s and two A’ levels.
Butcher also revealed that he had been a part of the programme headed by Kemar Saffrey since last year.
“I had left the shelter last week Wednesday because as I said I was still using drugs and felt restless being in the shelter because you couldn’t come outside,” he told the court.
Butcher said he was tested on Monday along with other clients and staff of the shelter but he was not sure of the result. It was reported that a few clients had left the shelter after the testing.
The magistrate told the No. 1 District “A” Magistrates’ Court that he couldn’t have Butcher “roaming around” and remanded him until March 23 pending the court’s decision as well as his test results. The prison has quarantine facilities in place. -

A discussion/debate is just that….It is a sharing of ideas. The ability to think critically, to ask valid questions and point out faultiness of information provided has nothing to do with superiority/inferiority, That thought process and consequent statement says a lot about you.
Nobody has dominion over your body but you, for the moment. What does my opinion or any bodies opinion have to do with what you or anyone else ends up doing? This is a discussion blog after all.

@Miller I actually listen to Peter Wickham response to the Rastas stance on Brass Tacks. And even though his response was VERY crass, many people would share his basic sentiment that Rastafarians would “do what they want to do”. I don’t think many people demonized Rastas now as compared to when the religion first appeared. I mean far more people accept parts of their lifestyle into everyday living now than before. Peter is a known atheist and doesn’t care if he expresses HIS OPINIONS in a crass manner, or if his opinion is “offensive”. Naturally one who strongly believes in one’s faith \ opinion would seek to “demonize” the other. The Rasta stance is just that, one stance/opinion on a subject. Jehovah Witnesses, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Closed Brethren have their stances it doesn’t not make them superior or inferior, it is just different. Over time religious groups modify and “modernize” their stances.
Rastafarians made their opinion on the COVID-19 vaccine public and it falls in line with their general opinion on “Western medicine”. Nobody is forcing any group bound by religion, gender, age, nationality to take any medication but I can guarantee you some people will “break ranks” from what is the “general opinion” within that group and do what is in their personal interest if a particular situation necessitates them to do so. -

But there is one element that ought to be ‘further’ highlighted.
The question the average layman might ask is:
If the vaccine is based on a ‘common’ formulary why are there so many ‘producers’ of a vaccine to fight Covid-19?What has become of the concept “economies of scale”?
Why incur so much ‘fixed’ costs by so many different ‘manufacturers’ in different countries all of which have to be recouped (including an ongoing reward for their immeasurable efforts) from the poor taxpayers and ‘frightened’ consumers?
Isn’t this similar to the competition found among oil companies retailing the same basic petrol for the same ICE-powered vehicles but under a different brand name?

Commonsense and Science always override religious bigotry in the race for survival unless an outlier like the Jim Jones brand of brainwashing appears on the scene.
But from what one can garner, Peter Wickham is not a full-fledged atheist but an ‘agnostic’ or ‘indecisive’ atheist who takes great umbrage (quite rationally so) to the concept of the omnipotence and omniscience of the Jewish god called Yahweh or Jehovah Jireh or even “Jah”.
An ‘old’ god of a past Age for whom the Rastafarians seem to have some ‘special adoration where mankind is viewed as some manipulative puppet of a creation by some invisible being in the sky instead of Jah being a ‘merely passing’ figment of the human imagination.
He, Wick Ham, on the other hand seems to have a leaning towards the Hinduism brand of religion(s) embracing, like the Greeks, a pantheon of gods and goddesses based on the concept of ‘poly-deism’.
Maybe Bajans, on the ‘circular’ reasoning of Wickham, should learn to embrace Shiva with his unbroken trident instead of holding on to a fast disappearing age of Yahweh through David through Yeshua through Muhammad.

The Fulton County medical examiner said the coroner never saw Aaron’s body, much less conducted an examination. By implying that the Fulton County coroner conducted an autopsy, the New York Times and other media outlets deceived their readers.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.Late last month, the mainstream media attacked me in a regimented swarm “debunking” my quote in The Defender questioning whether Hank Aaron’s death might have been related to the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine he received 18 days earlier.
I never said that the Moderna shot caused Aaron’s death. I simply made the factual observation that “Aaron’s tragic death is part of a wave of suspicious deaths among elderly closely following administration of COVID vaccines.”
Among the apoplectic hive of “fact checkers” that condemned this statement as “misinformation” were Meet the Press, NBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Inside Edition and many more.
The Daily Beast headline summarized the media’s moral revulsion at my query: “RFK Jr. Stoops to New Low by Falsely Tying Hank Aaron’s Death to Vaccine.”
Shortly after this high-tech media lynching, Instagram permanently deplatformed my 800,000 follower account.
The New York Times, citing the Fulton County coroner’s office, assured the public that “the Covid vaccine did not kill Hank Aaron.” NBC’s national wire service reported that the Fulton County coroner declared that Aaron’s death was from “natural causes unrelated to the vaccine.”
Fact checkers falsely claimed the coroner exonerated the Moderna vaccine

It is obvious that my fair and balanced attitude is bearing fruit. Of course, we must vaccinate all residents. I know many vaccinated people, all of whom are doing very well and praise our dear Supreme Leader Mia Mottley as their savior. Anyone who speaks out against the AZ vaccine is acting unpatriotically and may be committing a crime under emergency legislation.
So if your neighbours criticise the vaccination campaign, you know what to do: report it to the public prosecutor’s office.
