If the late great Gladston Holder were alive he would take the opportunity to remind us that it does not matter who is elected to the White House, it the wealthiest families in the USA where the power is located- the Vanderbilts, Rockefellers et al. That said many will agree party colours aside, Trump’s legacy will be remembered as being one of the most bigoted and divisive.

Let it be no secret this blogmaster cannot wait to see the back of the man. He has disgraced the office of president of the USA and by extension the human race.

  1. Maybe it is realised how much damage you could do with that vast fortune if you ever got your hands on it. A right wing looney who would turn back the clock and return us to slavery. Your views are being read on BU, you know. Your views would be known by the black judiciary.

  2. John is a Barbados Scholar, respect due!

  3. What does that say about Barbados scholars? This blog makes me happy I was not one of them! They are seriously screwed and twisted. I have heard better arguments from uneducated old men in the rumshop opposite my grandmother’s house.

But then again, I know other Barbados scholars who are wonderful people. I believe our BU Barbados scholars are in a class by themselves

But then again, my Barbados scholars were musical, poetic and artistic.

Eureka! I have found the difference!

    @ David

I cannot understand the point he was trying to make. Perhaps you should give him a chance to explain himself.

  5. @Artax

The critical analyzer has not shown himself to be hesitant about wading into the arguments as it relates to affairs of Trump.

  6. “John is a Barbados Scholar, respect due!”

Barbados Scholars like John, GP and Lucas are from the little league and are not in the big league of intelligence.

  7. We are fortunate two have widely and proudly declare their Barbados Scholarship accreditation on BU- one other who post to BU anonymously and like many here add value even if his views are not so contrarian LOL.

  9. David,

What is this scholar’s field of study?

  10. The problem with the Barbadian Scholars is they sit on their fat asses too much and the blood settles in their bottoms and drains blood oxygen and energy from the membranes of their brains.
They need to get up and exercise a bit and learn how to shake their tail feather.

    Yes @David, ‘respect that’ LOL.

Looka, we RESPECT the fact that he was smarter than we were (all ah we basically) and shut out ‘grabbing’ at the opposite sex, chilling on Brown’s Beach or Miami Beach or at East Coast, partying at ‘After Dark’- or in his case ‘Carlisle’ etc – , playing too much hockey and other sports and FOCUSED his intellectual ability to achieve stellar academic success … times two!

Excellent . Nuff respectf due to him and the others here and otherwise who did the same!

But hey… that does NOT diminish mor change the fact that 40 plus years later he IS a racist, self confessed liar and charlatan ! QED … is how he would say from his Latin class !

@Donna, your ‘tongue’ is rapier sharp. LOL. Likely as destructive as ur physical prowess .. I can only imagine what happened to that fool who took you for an easy mark to attack!

This John Fellow guy is similarly foolish and all over the place with absurd assaults! Beat him (them) up we must.

David gets what I’m saying but he disagrees with my interpretation.

When you look at the exact press release statement issued by Trump’s Legal Team, what jumps out most to me is the last 4 words of the statement “She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity.”.

Why specifically add on “in his personal capacity”. Lawyers don’t release press statements unless they vet it properly. To me, she is still involved but not in the way we think.

She has also done work for the DOJ in some capacity based on her Wikipedia page so I am inclined to believe it was some DOJ partial collaboration with the Trump Campaign Legal team. DOJ has to have launched some sort of investigation and you don’t know until they start arresting people.

Sidney Powell should REFUSE to concede her position from Trump’s legal team,” one critic joked

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

What is the difference between the Office of the President of the United States, and Donald Trump the candidate?

Are they one in the same?

Obviously no, one existed before Donald Trump took it and will exist after Donald Trump leaves it.

Who gets to act using the powers of the National Emergency declared since 2018?

    Not candidate Trump, POTUS.

Sydney Powell knows an awful lot about things POTUS would know, but a candidate in the elections should not, for example Candidate Biden!!

Candidate Trump also holds the office of POTUS and acts in two capacities.

    Just a thought.

Relax, not long now …. either way.

  16. Smarter than Donna shite! I just hardly looked in the books. They probably knew what they wanted to study and were therefore more focussed. I found most subjects equally interesting at times and at others, equally boring. Never knew any subject that held my interest and that I wanted to pursue for the rest of my life.

That’s for you to figure out if I meant you will find out if is POTUS or Trump in the fullness of time!!

… or … if Sydney Powell got fired from “The President’s Team” or not.

Same principle as Giuliani, meant to confuse more the already confused!!

Either way Giuliani will be right, just as I will be!!

You just got to wait and see, relax.

    Right about that too!

John literally makes my stomach churn. I keep the antacid closeby.

My “physical prowess” was not great strength but a remarkably cool head in the face of danger, quick thinking, lightning reflexes and agility. Believe me, I am more scared now reliving it than I was in the moment.

  19. @ Critical Analyzer

I was about to ‘tell’ David you probably meant Powell is working for the US Justice Department.

However, how do you explain Trump’s tweet on November 20, 2020 re: “I look forward to Mayor Giuliani spearheading the legal effort to defend OUR RIGHT to FREE and FAIR ELECTIONS! Rudy Giuliani, Joseph diGenova, Victoria Toensing, Sidney Powell, and Jenna Ellis, a truly great team, added to our other wonderful lawyers and representatives!”

It has also been reported that the statement you’ve alluded to, came a day AFTER a judge dismissed the campaign’s lawsuit seeking to halt President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in Pennsylvania.

The fact that Giuliani and the other lawyers mentioned are representing Trump’s campaign or Trump in his personal capacity, suggests this is a private matter. I’m sure you’re aware of the independence of the Justice Department, which is responsible for conducting investigations without influence of the White House.

How do you explain Powell working for the Justice Department in a matter involving Trump the citizen, who is also president? In other words, you’re essentially suggesting Trump used his personal lawyers and Powell to influence the Justice Department into filing a court case on his behalf.

  22. This is what I long suspected in these challenges now the NYT can see through the camouflage
    +++++++++++++++++
In Pennsylvania, President Trump and Republicans loyal to him have sought to overturn his defeat by making false claims about widespread voting fraud in Philadelphia.

In Georgia, they have sought to reverse his loss by leveling similar accusations against Atlanta.
In Michigan, Republicans have zeroed in on Detroit, whose elections system the president has falsely portrayed as so flawed that its entire vote should be thrown out.

Lost on no one in those cities is what they have in common: large populations of Black voters.
And there is little ambiguity in the way Mr. Trump and his allies are falsely depicting them as bastions of corruption.
“‘Democrat-led city’ — that’s code for Black,” said the Rev. William J. Barber II, the president of the civil rights group Repairers of the Breach. “They’re coupling ‘city’ and ‘fraud,’ and those two words have been used throughout the years. This is an old playbook being used in the modern time, and people should be aware of that.”

Mr. Trump’s fruitless and pyromaniacal campaign to somehow reverse President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s victory in the election rests on the wholesale disenfranchisement of hundreds of thousands of voters, a disproportionate number of them Black Americans living in the urban centers of Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan.
Notably absent from the effort has been any focus on predominantly white suburban areas where the president performed better, but where he lost ground compared with four years ago and arguably lost the election.
The campaign is not Mr. Trump’s alone. He has had help from supporters and allies throughout the country, as well as from the Republican National Committee and its state branches.

And, in a year in which the nation elected its first Black vice president, Senator Kamala Harris of California, the push represents a newly conspicuous phase of a decades-long effort by the Republican Party to expand power through the suppression of voters of color. Those voters have largely remained loyal to the Democrats while Republicans consistently win the white vote.
Over the past several years, that Republican effort has consisted mostly of new state and local election laws that, in the name of combating fraud, have restricted voting in ways that often place a disproportionate burden on Black and Latino voters. Civil rights leaders and Democrats have cited these laws as not-so-subtle efforts at voter suppression, and, in several court cases, judges have agreed.

Republicans Rewrite an Old Playbook on Disenfranchising Black Americans – The New York Times (nytimes.com)

  23. Candidate Trump can’t intervene with evidence only POTUS would know.

If it were the other way and Candidate Biden was claiming fraud perpetrated by the Republicans, POTUS would have to intervene if evidence existed even although Candidate Trump held the office of POTUS.

The holder of the office of POTUS is sworn to uphold the constitution.

My guess is Sydney Powell is acting for POTUS and POTUS is acting to uphold the constitution.

As such, strictly speaking, she is still on the President’s team, even though she is not acting for Trump and is not, also strictly speaking, on the “President’s” team.!!

  24. There is no way the media is going to figure that one out.

Maybe older heads, but not the children on display.

  25. Remember Snowden and the NSA?

POTUS knows what the NSA knows, but Candidate Trump “doesn’t” and Candidate Biden doesn’t!!

ANTIFA was declared a terrorist organisation earlier this year.

    It can be spied upon!!

Any body who communicates with ANTIFA gets their communication recorded!!

So when the claim is made that the boss at Dominion was overheard saying to ANTIFA what is claimed, there is one way that such a claim could be made.

It is a pity that some people do not challenge the points you raise, rather than resort to personal abuse. In that way it would be more educative.
Plse expand on your Candidate Trump versus POTUS thesis. That is interesting. Does tyhat men when a sitting POTUS seeks re-reelection for a second term that there is a ‘Chinese’ wall between the Candidate and the POTUS? Plse explain.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I’ll explain by way of example.

Suppose there were two candidates, neither of which was the incumbent, say like 2016, Hilary and Trump!

    POTUS was held by Obama.

Neither Candidate Trump nor Candidate Hilary should have as much knowledge of election fraud as POTUS would.

POTUS has the FBI, CIA, NSA etc etc etc at his disposal.

It was the responsibility of POTUS to intervene if POTUS had knowledge of election fraud.

Rather, as time has progressed. POTUS, in the hands of OBAMA, appears to have favoured Candidate Hilary.

Now we see why the FBI’s involvement in the Russian Collusion Hoax was and is so utterly vile.

Candidate Trump also happens to hold the office of POTUS.

He is under a higher responsibility to act without favor.

Candidate Trump can’t all of a sudden produce TOP SECRET data which only POTUS would know.

That would be an abuse of the office.

  29. … but POTUS has a responsibility to act.

  30. @ Quaker John

I am not sure if that seems logical to you, in the real world it is not. Ignore the 2016 situation where neither candidate was POTUS. Plse explain in simple terms, I am not a Barbados scholar and knows nothing about logic, how as POTUS and commander in chief, how the POTUS can be informed of an alleged fraud by his security apparatus, and at the same time keeps that information from the candidate?
More importantly, explain the constitutionality of such information sharing. Here is a hypothetical case: POTUS is informed that there will be an attempt on candidate A’s life and that of his wife and, it so happens, candidate A is also POTUS.
What legal use can POTUS make of that information?

  31. @ David:
“John is a Barbados Scholar, respect due!”

Respect is earned not given. Any respect that slaver had, he threw by the wayside. No black person in Barbados should respect a slaver who yearns for the old days. It is enough that he and his ilk are living off the wealth accumulated from centuries of enslaving black Bajans.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Obviously Candidate Trump and POTUS are the same persons so each knows what the other knows, nothing abstruse about that.

But Candidate Trump can’t act as POTUS can.

The legal cases have Candidate Trump as plaintiff, not POTUS!!

You don’t need to be a Barbados Scholar to figure that out.

  33. Now here is the real question to be asked.

Should POTUS have informed Candidate Biden’s campaign of its knowledge?

I suspect the answer will be found in the Executive Order POTUS signed into effect in 2018 declaring a National Emergency regarding election interference.

Would need to read it with a fine tooth comb but don’t have the time.

  34. Hal AustinNovember 23, 2020 12:00 PM

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    You mean FLOTUS!!

Should POTUS intervene to protect FLOTUS?

    Of course.

The real question is what should POTUS do if he has information of a plot to kill Candidate B?

    Obviously intervene!!

  35. Candidate A holds the office of POTUS till 20th January, 2020.

  36. Even Putin has it figured out.

The children in the media can’t get it!!

  37. Canada is led by a child!!

  38. @ Quaker John

Part of having fun with you is that when you are lost you do not admit it. Often you just ask yourself the question you want to answer. You are only a plaintiff if there is legal action. Asking what is the legality of an action and taking legal action are two different things.
What are the legal limitations on any action that Candidate A can take? I am not sure where candidate Biden comes from? Plse re-read the original question.
By the way, I have a very low opinion of the existing Barbados Scholarship system. We have wasted taxpayers’ money in this scandalous system for over 100 years.
How many Barbadian school leavers go to university, and how many graduate?

  39. Putin up to 1 day ago still gets it!!

… and he is no Barbados Scholar.

“Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin said he’s ready to work with any U.S. leader, but still isn’t ready to recognise the election victory of Joe Biden.

“We will work with anyone who has the confidence of the American people,” Putin said on Russian state TV Sunday. “But that confidence can only be given to a candidate whose victory has been recognised by the opposing party, or after the results are confirmed in a legitimate, legal way.””

    https://theprint.in/world/not-ready-to-recognise-bidens-victory-says-putin-will-wait-for-results-to-be-confirmed/549698/

  40. Quaker John

Here you go again, setting the question you want to answer. You are funny. Glad that you are a mathematics scholar, if that is the right term. @John, if you do not understand the question, plse say so. If you have no answer, plse say so?

The Obnoxious John Knox is now too obviously ass -inine and does not deserve a tail to hide his assholery.

My new game is Flogging the Dead Jackass. Horses are too pretty. I don’t flog them.

  42. I would have thought that the answer as to your question as to whether POTUS should intervene to protect POTUS would be obvious.

Candidate A is POTUS till January 20, 2021, and that date is yet to arrive!!

Of course POTUS can protect POTUS, and FLOTUS, and Candidate B and any American citizen, or the citizen of any other country!!

  43. What are the legal limitations on any action that Candidate A can take?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Is the media guilty of spreading propaganda to affect the outcome of an election?

  46. By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.) TRUMP, President of the United States of America, find that the ability of persons located, in whole or in substantial part, outside the United States to interfere in or undermine public confidence in United States elections, including through the unauthorized accessing of election and campaign infrastructure or the covert distribution of propaganda and disinformation, constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.
