Sweet Sunday Sermon – REPAIR OF THE GATES OF JERUSALEM

Submitted by Dr. GP

  • To many Nehemiah 3 is very dull and boring chapter, but once we believe that ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God and that it is profitable for our spiritual and other forms of edification, then it behoves us to dig up the nuggets therein and think and apply them to our lives.
  • It can be deduced from this chapter the promise that if, and when God’s people would work together harmoniously that they will accomplish much in the work of the Lord.
  • This is what we hope to do in our church. Nehemiah used the principles of small group or cell group ministry in his plan to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, and so can we.

    Scriptures:

Genesis 1: 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”

Genesis 1: 28; God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Acts 14:22; Strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.

Psa 119:71 It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees.

James 1:2; Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Romans 12:2; Do not change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.h

Mark 9:34-37; But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest. Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”

Mark 10:13-16; People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

Hebrews 12:2; fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of God.

Luke 22: 42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

Hebrews 5: 8 Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered.

It’s appalling to see no comments on this religious topic before 12:00 noon. We debate and strategize over issues that we have no, no , control over at great lengths. BDS is the most religious country in the Atlantic.

Didn’t know you needed a “teacher” to interpret and explain myths???

We thought you were adroit at interpreting fables, fairy tales and even children bedtime stories; whether Jewish or European.

While you are at it, could you explain, biologically, how a 90 year old human female could have become pregnant (primigravida) for her 100 year old randy ram-like brother?

Whenever you come here, you display your ignorance of the Bible- the Word of God.

John 2: 20 and 27,teaches that sincere born again Bible believers have the indwelling Holy Spirit as their indwelling Bible teacher, so that the Christian does not need any teaching apart from what is found in the Word of God as to the truth of ” God. The Gnostics professed to have additional truth, but John is saying here that there is no additional truth to what is found in the Word of God.

Ephesians 4:11, & I Corinthians 12 clearly states that .God has made specific provision for teachers in the Church. This means that with the Word of God in our hands and the Spirit of God in our hearts, we have all that we need for instruction in the truth of God.

Given the omnipresence of your desert god Yahweh, can we conclude that same “Word of God” can be found in the mythological tales and cultural fables of other peoples like the Aztecs and Incas and even those of the Sumerians, Egyptians and Greeks?

Or is your ‘spiritual’ vista limited to the arid plains of the Middle East where mirages and miracles were par for the course?

  • That the ” same “Word of God” can be found in the mythological tales and cultural fables of other peoples like the Aztecs and Incas and even those of the Sumerians, Egyptians and Greeks” might reasonably be accounted for in the record of the dispersion of the folk with the confusion of languages at Babel described in Genesis 11.

Is it a matter of “faith” or bigoted ignorance?

GP does not respect other people’s faiths or religions.
It’s either his Judeo-Christian fabrications and plagiarized mythologies which the same European have long abandoned or nothing else under the Sun.

Dr. GP would call the miller all manner of names just because he is a Pagan.

Just look what he has said about the fable of Babel as if that can explain the origin of Mandarin or Sanskrit or ‘English’ or other the hundreds of ‘indigenous’ languages spoken right across the globe.

Look what is happening in France today when these religious nutters are let loose.

You have just proven yourself to be a 100% certified lunatic.

Isn’t the so-called Bible the ‘abridged’ manual for the practice of the Judeo and Christian religions?

As we have postulated before, Christianity would only become convincingly appealing to the modern more enlightened world when the Jews get on their money-making knees and beg Yahweh for forgiveness by accepting Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

  • 26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

Are you sure that dark-skin ‘slave’ wasn’t a ‘tranny’?

With all that bling adorning him ‘he/she’ would certainly make for a future concubine for the lonely Philip, the travelling man.

Now that you guys are on “Bible” studies here is a piece which can be used to justify same-sex unions, marriage or otherwise:

His disciples said to him, “If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.”
But he said to them, “Not everyone can accept this teaching, but only those to whom it is given.

For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.” ⁓ Matthew 19:10–12

  • THERE HE GOES AGAIN !
We are taught in the book of Acts that Philip the evangelist, had four unmarried daughters who had the gift of prophecy.
This would suggest that he did not need a concubine.

The reason for eunuchs in many ancient kingdoms is well known.

I wont waste my time with the misinterpretation of Jesus’ statement in Matthew 19:10–12.
The Bible is quite clear on who may be legitimately married in God’s sight.

You mean to say that Philip did not walk in the Grand Master Abraham’s shoes with his many ‘black’ concubines (including the black servant girl Hagar) along with his wife Sarah who was also his ‘half’ sister?

BTW, neither did Solomon need a concubine (aka outside woman) since he also had 700 lawfully wedded concubines in his harem and all blessed in the sight of Yahweh.

No one is asking or forcing the Church to marry same sex couples.

The clergy-in its myriad forms- can opt out of acting as agents of the State when it comes to performing matrimonial ceremonies.

Why should eunuchs be denied the ‘joy’ of sex?

Wasn’t the Biblical character Jesus himself sympathetic to the ‘special’ status of these humans?

Wasn’t the TV film the “Odd Couple” a glimpse into the lives of a same-sex couple sans sexe?

Ms Many P., why don’t you stop confusing and contradicting yourself?

How many wives and concubines did the wisest of your god Yahweh’s favourite men possessed?

What do you think the 10 commandments are other than laws plagiarized from other cultures?

Why didn’t your god kill Cain for killing his brother Abel and then turned around and had sex with (in Biblical doublespeak, ‘knew’) his sister or mother?

Now which is the bigger sin, aka abomination, in the sight of your lord god Yahweh?
Two sisters getting their old papa drunk and “Knowing” him?

Or two women ‘loving’ each other until death do them part?

Why do you stupid black people (who can’t think for themselves like you) continue to believe in fairy tales written by other folks?

You should not argue against something unless you know what you are talking about.

    Do you agree, Ms MP?

That’s why, Ms Many P, you should not criticise same sex marriages unless you have tried it and failed like most heterosexual people which make up the vast majority of our already overpopulated planet.

You must learn to apply that universal maxim of ‘live and let live’ as supremely expressed in the poem “Desiderata”.
