The Chinese may have been cooking ………….hummm
Donville Inniss is speaking
Pornville taking some pot shots at the heir apparent.
Pornville made a very good presentation. He tried to clarify ‘ambiguities’ and gave the ‘citizentree’ some hope that niggling bureaucratic issues would or should be addressed to bring Barbados into the 21st century.
Chuckle….The new leader of the DEMs has spoken….ensuring that he does not endorse the budget…….placing no blame on the MoF……….Calling for radical change in the civil service and how we do business ,which would suggest that the cabinet is not for it.
We await now the other dissident to share his views that were broadcast by MAM in her delivery…….one wonders how this vote will go.
On May 30th May 31st, These twp Parties of Crooks, Liars, and Scumbags are talking and many of you taking side even in Joke, They are talking to each and about each other, But none dear talk the Massive Land Fraud that they are all part of, Even SB or SoB build and made his money on, Both Parties need not be trusted just because they put on a show for people who are slow to see and feel the pain of the next 5 years, As long as any of those Parties win, We all will lose as a People and a Nation, The Level of PAIN,
This mental mindset of, the level of crime need to grip the level of corruption and fraud and laundering of funds, lead you all to tax after taxes leading into VAT and more VATTING Vexing of the People, More GUN&Roses for the grave of many death to come to bim,
All of this is no Joke, David better not delete what people write on this post, as in the past you will have to blame self for not dealing with truth of each other word,
BajanFreeParty/CUP Full Trident . warns of what is next, We are not wrong as yet so we are not changing our minds or mouth to the WARNING of what is NEXT.
Time for a lawyer Free Government, and remove the BROKEN TRIDENT, NOTHING BROKEN CANT WORK AND 50 YEARS OF SLAVERY HAS PROVEN THAT,
My MP friend shotting…………….
He has the AG jumping up and down.
Why does Donville not defend what Hinkson is saying……….he is old to attack Mara as she sits in the hair.
Lord have mercy!
Mara in the chair and Hinkson dragged her. #$3.3Mgate
Hinkson cuffed the speaker for thieving $200,000 from a wheel-chair bound client, some cuffs for blacklipped corrupt lowdown and for the PM and cabinet for overseeing and turning a blind eye to excessive legal fees for a select few 5 lawyers All supporters of the DLP and which he said is creating funding for the next election.
Lowe’s contribution so far is nothing but expected of the Minister of Garbage.Bare garbage.
@Bush Tea May 31, 2017 at 11:02 PM “Bushie will be the first one at Haggatt Hall…”
meet you there (again:-)
@Tell me Why June 1, 2017 at 3:40 PM “Donville Inniss is speaking.”
Donville isn’t happy with the budget. He wants it fixed by 5:30 p.m. TODAY.
Lemme ask a question, since I am no politician.
Is the Minister of Finance required to discuss the budget with his Cabinet colleagues, and get their agreement BEFORE he presents it to the House?
And even if he is not required to do so, would it not be wise to do so? So that Cabinet can speak with one voice?
I am only a Simple Simon, so maybe one of the wise ones on this blog can educate me.
I cannot bear to look far less listen to Lowe! Reprehensible!
OSA is speaking!
@Hal Austin June 1, 2017 at 11:16 AM “when was the last time we had a debate in the print or broadcast media on China’s influence in Barbados?”
The U.K. saved you.
Maybe the Chinese will save Barbados.
After all the Chinese can’t possibly treat us any worse than the British have historically treated us.
Parliament reached a new “low” in reality and “Low()” as being the people’s representative. Ministers should be speaking primarily about the management of ministries assigned to them. What the hell same sex relationship have to do with getting this country on an even keel. Richard, Donville, Stephen dealt with issues.
I interpret OSA as saying the economy needs an austerity package but as part of an IMF program.
Prodigal or David. Who are the ministers to speak after this break?
I was out today so I do not hear all the speakers………….I know that John Boyce, Michael Lashley. Donville Inniss, Adriel Brathwaite, Steve Blackett and Lowe spoke.
On the Opposition side it may only Santia Bradshaw and Kerry Symmonds to speak.
I was not always listening but I haven’t heard Jones,Thompson,Estwick,Payne or Stuart.
OSA is also suggesting a basket of currencies made up of US,Canadian,Sterling and the Euro with weighted values of 40% US,40% Stg,10% Can and 10% Euro.He says this is what Singapore did in 1991 when its parity to the dollar was working against their economy as it is working against the Barbados economy at this time given the strength of the dollar vs other worlds’ currencies. The advent of Trump’s policies of America first would likely lead to the continued strength of the dollar and it would be to the detriment of growth in our UK tourism market, both the hotel sector and the property sales/investment sectors.
OSA in essence has stated that we are in ducks guts….we have a defacto valuation by virtue of the budget and should delink from the USD…..called for the business sector to agitate for the IMF programme which is softer than this one.
I not so sure about that currency argument. I don’t think our issue is price competitiveness. Our issues are how to deal with the loss of revenue from the international business sector in our high social service s modeled, how to improve the ease of doing business and attract investment local and foreign without a slew of incentive.
If this government had paid interest and taken action when the international business sector was asking it to pay attention and speak to them, Barbados would not be in this mess.
We have idiots running this country………….case in point the PM who is now speaking in the House having just come down from Mt Olympus………..
@ Observier
Boss, our main issue is how to end the waste of public resources through thieving, incompetence, low productivity, … and thieving. (had to say “thieving” twice….)
Pound for pound, Barbados outperforms most small communities in terms of income from national business activities – especially tourism and international business.
It is the incompetent idiocy of a clueless and corrupt government that drives our perilous position….not a need for additional money.
Providing more and more money to a fool is like filling fire trucks with gasoline.
The competence of the government is an issue but so is the loss of at least 200ml or so a year.
it is almost laughable to hear the blp response of attacks trying to decry govt for not being able to meet financial challenges and not putting people first when the blp and their operatives have stood in the way of present projects that will create growth and provide financial relief to debt.. projects like the Hyatt and the sale of state assets all of which are left in the hands of the courts to filter through while the financial interest of the country suffer, the blp ought to be ashamed of using taxpayers money to deliver campaign speeches in parliament instead of having alternative solutions
Angela. I prefer to hear campaign speeches than to hear derogatory speeches like Lowboy and DJ Blackett. One of the best controlled speeches was by Santia, her quiet disposition was filled with facts and only used notes when referring to documents. Owen was consistent about getting funds from the IMF to assist in this dire financial position. But….this home-grown economist will never bulge.
@ Observer

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The unexplained loss of income is what you would term a ‘dependent variable’….
It is a symptom on incompetence, so if you seek to deal with the symptom, then the root problem only gets worse….
I note that during the budget debate Owen Arthur, a former minister of finance and prime minister for 14 years; a former economic planner and would-be economic adviser to Sinckler, called for a decoupling of the Bajan from the Greenback. My admiration goes out to Mr Arthur.
Dr. Lowe was brilliant.

Maybe the blogmaster could advise for how many years I’ve been typing that lack of facilitation was killing this country.
This gov’t’s greatest failing then and now, is not knowing what the hell they are doing and not listening to the people who do.
Too late now. Foreign investors frustrated with the blatant, overt bribe-solicitation and lack of facilitation are long gone. Local business people lead by GEL are doing their best to get out too. Capital, brain and innovation flight.
They were told this would happen, just like I’ve said for seven years: THERE WILL BE NO ECONOMIC RECOVERY UNDER FUMBLE’S FOOLS.
“…..OSA in essence has stated that we are in ducks guts”
He has to continue in this vein. He predicted Barbados’ demise by the end of May 2018.
Dr. Lowe needs to pay the court ordered child support and stop leaving it to bailiffs to have to run him down to provide for his children.
President Trump has pulled America out of the Climate accord.
He has done what needs to be done.
That is how great Leaser lead. They do what has to be done.
The same is being done here in Barbados. Sorry to burst your bubble DAVID.
Dr. Denis ‘Trans-Tek’ Lowe is a bandit
Dr. Lowe is taking the bull by the horns and shaking it.
Bajans are fully behind him.
Dr Lowe knows a lot about shaking his full behind and taking a bulls horn.
A very disappointing assessment of this year’s budget by those here on BU.
You are a lost tribe. By the next few months when you belatedly see the benefits of this year’s budget you hang your heads in shame for being so dumb and stupid.
The Democratic Labour Party is the party made of Granite, the Govt. will continue to make decisions which are in the interest of the country not matter the amount of sabotage by the crooked Barbados Labour Party operatives.
Just remember “..the jockey has become too heavy for the horse…”
The few blp yardfowls who comment here are frustrated that their prediction of a total complete collapse of the barbados economy has not occured in the past seven . years. Coming out of all these yardfowls noises is a want of selfishness.
Dr. Lowe comments referencing the blp as the party of NO is spot on .for indeed if these bombastic ignormuses had put barbados financial interest first there angst towards govt intervention when projects that are forward to create growth in the economy would be tempered by a seriouness and rationale of putting barbados economy first.
However what can be heard from all the blp operative noises is a callous disregard for country and a bold unfettered desire to put themselves first
Hence for them what is best for barbados if in all totalness is not calculated to include their selfinterest then nothing else matters and barbados be damn
I heard OSA put a figure of 750million if drawn from the IMF which can be applied to paying off barbados debt if barbados entered an IMF program
My question to OSA what resources can he tell barbadians he has in mind for repaying the debt.
Using debt to pay down debt is unsustainable especially in a country with a small population of a mere two hundred and seventy five thousands people especially when statistics show that our population is decreasing in numbers and collecting taxes would become an additional burden on the backs of many
The noises on paying a levy on petroleum can work both ways in that it help govt to keep fuel cost down affording govt to buy less and working as a plus
It does not take rocket science for people to control their spending habits deciding between wants and needs when it comes to spend
Cutting back has always done the trick
@ Hal
I agree with you. Arthur was perhaps the only sensible quality contribution to the folly that transpired between the BLPDLP over the last couple of days. It was an unforgettable spectacle of incredible embarrassment. This inferior political theatre revealed in full light the bankrupt BLPDLP.
“Dr. Lowe was brilliant”.
…………………………………………..
Let’s put it better………..Dr Lowe is a brilliant liar, deceiver, and is corrupt, ugly and sick.
William,
I am waiting for our media to start a discussion now that Arthur, after 14 years as prime minister and nine years in Opposition, has seen the light. Once we have had that, we will move on to the silly narrative about foreign reserves.
@ William, it is amazing that once you move away from abuse and cynicism and discuss ideas how much we can achieve.
…. it is amazing that once you move away from abuse and cynicism and discuss ideas how much we can achieve.

What was achieved?
Unlike Bushie we were never convinced that official, large-scaled stealing, goes on in government.
It is for Bushie and those who make such claims to show the evidence.
Yes, there is a high level of corporate inspired corruption in the system but we fail to see the direct and illegal transfer of public funds to ordinary criminals or public officials.
On the issue of Arthur’s call for a basket of currencies, as peg. This is a nonsense. We wonder why such a dated trinket could engage the small minds of some.
For that basket of currencies are themselves linked to the very same US dollar.
Arthur and his acolytes are merely spitting into the air.
In reality, the only cure for currency disruptions is a fundamental re-organization of the post-Bretton Woods structure. The dismantlement of a fiat system which allows one country to recycle debt and employ such as a weapon against us all.
Patches
Point taken. The Robinson Crusoe economy is offered up as a viable alternative.
Frustrated Businessman: enact Facilitation Martial Law! June 2, 2017 at 7:49 AM
Re your above comment……what is so difficult about the private sector/BCCI and the unions sitting down together and look at OSAs presentation, which provides irrefutable evidence as to the dire straits this country will be in as we continue on this path and after that deciding to issue the govt an ultimatum to go to the IMF or call elections…..failing either the country will be shutdown untill such time.
Bushie said …………………..
Based on her performance tonight alone, Bushie will be rooting for Mia in any coming elections….
Just her promise to call in the RCMP /FBI /Scotland Yard alone to deal with some of the brass bowl scamps in that parliament is enuff to cause Bushie to support her….
This is the opposition leader that we SHOULD have had since 2012….+++++++++++++
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Bushie why would you seek to excite yourself only to have to prepare for greater disappointment?
Would it not be apposite to follow your own best, time-tested, judgement in these matters?
We find no refuse in the RCMP, Scotland Yard nor the FBI. Merely to suggest these locate your mentality within a colonial context. And that of MAM, who we must confess has never been the sharpest mind around.
For already, the RBPF is merely an arm of this global structure with all their secret orders and the like. And a firm commitment to killing Black people.
Would these police forces need to investigate MAM, herself, for her past crimes before being deemed worthy to initiate the investigation of others?
