What concerned me most during the run up to the election was the planned false reporting by the corporate media and some of the major internet sites. The election was always much closer than they were purposely misreporting, and only folks who had the opportunity to hear or read news from alternative sources that the election would be a dog fight and not a cake walk for Hillary – BU Commenter Bajan in NY

Against the the run of popular opinion Donald Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States of America. What is bodes for the world time will tell. What is reaffirms to the BU household is that the voice of the people is the voice of God.

On behalf of Barbados Underground (for what it is worth) we congratulate Donald Trump and hope he will be able to advance the cause of mankind as President of the United States.

Trump devised a message that flew on the wings of the fear of a diverse group of Americans. He won and oviously will have to comeup with a winning strategy to make America great again according to him. When have sensible people swallowed what a politician promised on a political platform?

Although he is still tweeting in the night.

Here is Trump on Obama…”he is the greatest leader, did a lot of wonderful things, great things”
“I have the utmost respect for president Obama” “we will need him going forward…for counsel
    ++++++++++
Sometimes Trump has a sense of occasion and will not act boorish but that statement and a quarter couldn’t even buy you a cup of coffee. The man called Obama ‘ignorant’ and the man knows everything do you think he would reach out to Obama?

@Sargeant at 9:58 AM…America needs this dare I say it ‘blood-letting’ . Let the chips fall where they have to.

Donald Trump is not a unicorn or other magical, mystical figure. He is a real lived embodiment of the Republicans. He and many like him were always there in Congress, in locker rooms, in elementary, middle and high schools all across the US. Now he is big and bold in the White House.

Let the war begin. Then we can actually work to a workable peace agreement at its conclusion; otherwise we can become fractured and devolve into two or three or multiple nations.

I am sure you remember that after the euphoria of Obama’s victory – how many have the NY Times or Washington Post or even the Nation’s edition of that date for posterity – many said we had reached a nirvana of racial acceptance in US. Steeupse.

The inverse of that euphoria is also a loud steeupse. We are truly no more racially intolerant now than we were then. It’s the same nation bro. Same people. Same hate. Same love.

We will all overcome. There will be pain, more surely than it was during Obama’s tenure, but we will overcome.

    Let the war begin.

And get back to the gym, to the study halls or wherever one goes to supplant and buttress one’s inner force…we will need it!

By the way…Obama does not havevto give 2 shits about Trump and his presidency, if it ever emerges, he is out of there soon and will just have to change all his phone numbers and tell his secret service detail he will not accept calls from Trump or his team….he did say it was his team will be helping Trump with the transition…if it emerges…Obama never said he would help Trump personally…it’s not his job.

Obama was just being his usual graceful self and showing some class….maybe Trump learned something yesterday and reeled in his usual display of savagery…positive interactions usually have that effect on wild animals.

is so blinded by his own bigotry, he is overreacting to everything.

My predictions: Trump will settle all outstanding lawsuits, and his adversaries will be happy to settle.

Angela Merkel, who is disappointed that another woman didn’t get elected, is being patronizing, but she has problems of her own at home. Trump will have a cordial meeting with her, and everyone will get along.

“Americans have resurrected the same group; Carl Rove, Newt Gingrich, and crew, that took them into the Iraq war. Look out world, here we go again.”

Now, now Alvin, please don’t get your knickers in a twist (or more analogously apt, get your intellectual testicles caught squarely in your long johns of stupidity).

Because you and Bush Tea are seeing eye to eye on the American scene that doesn’t mean your prognosis of doom and gloom for the world (except for Barbados under the DLP, of course) should betaken seriously.

Expecting Trump to clean up politics is equivalent to expecting the DLP to have cleaned up the stable of corruption and incompetence you claim to have been left by the previous BLP administration.

What war do you have in mind? In which theatre do you foresee its origins? The Korean peninsula? The highly probable China vs. Japan war of revenge or the Russian invasion of Israel?

We can all agree the world is in need of a serious culling. But a nuclear war is not the most efficient way to go about it. You should look to the skies for your answer.

This is what Trump promised the American electorate. Does it ring a bell?
“Why Good governance? Good Governance is characterized by the principles of participation, consensus, accountability, transparency, responsiveness, effectiveness and efficiency, equity and inclusion, and the rule of law. It assures that corruption is minimized, the views of minorities are taken into account and that the voices of the most vulnerable in society are heard in decision-making and the allocation of resources.”

And if you want to reminisce about those bad old days under OSA here is more déjà vu for you as your dead deceitful lying King David waxed lyrically in January 2008 in true ‘Trumpeteer’ style.

“Over the past eighteen months the Democratic Labour Party has embarked on an intense dialogue with the People of Barbados. What have we discovered? People are concerned about:
-the growing culture of gated communities; -the concentration of power in fewer and fewer hands; -the heavy hand of big business with monopolistic powers; -the erosion of wages by the ever increasing cost of living; -the constriction of the social safety net through having to pay for everything including basic health care; – the unraveling of the traditional family structure.”
Blah, blah, blah etc, etc ad nauseam.

Now since you are so good at predicting do you foresee Trump playing his victory card and dumping all the policies and programmes the American government has agreed to in tackling climate change aka global warming?

Do you share Trump’s view that climate change is just one big scam concocted by the Chinese to destroy the American manufacturing industry?

And do you also think that the melting of the Arctic region is a golden opportunity for American businesses to exploit the massive resources lying below the permafrost especially the oil and gas required to make “America Great Again” à la Trump of 1950’s & 1960’s halcyon days of unrestrained pollution?

Alvin C, you speak with the forked tongue of a lying serpent.

Why do you continue to liken Trump with Hitler? Hasn’t Trump been warmly congratulated by not only his political opponents like Clinton and Obama but also by world leaders including your own Bajan head of government FJS?

By painting Trump with the same ‘tar’ brush as Hitler you would inadvertently putting FJ S in the same boat of naivety and folly as the British PM Neville Chamberlain. If you are such a great student of history (as you arrogantly claim to be) then you should be able to interpret the relevance of the analogy.

Please, you are in no position to advice us.

Your very limited reading list could be augmented by, at least, ‘A Peoples’ History of The USA’ by Howard Zinn. Over a hundred works by Noam Chomsky and hundreds more by many others.

The BS you have suggested, though good for a neophyte, are not located at the centre of current critical thought.

You know too little, about too much

If you were familiar with the internal politics of PBS you would not be suggesting them, as a source, to anybody who is sentient.

You know too little, about too much

Those documentaries about Adolf Hitler we would bet you overly rely on an established narrative which demonizes him. They will never tell you how connected he was to the American and European establishments and how this nonsense about the Holocaust hid the cheap labour Jews and others were providing for global and especially American corporations, as Hitler worked them to death. That western bankers and industrialists were the hidden hands behind the fake Nazi project.

You know too little, about too much

We don’t care whether you are 80 or 800 years old. Within the environment in which we operate we know men who are 8 years old and boys, like you, who are 80 years old.

“If this is going to be a time of healing, we must first put the responsibility for healing where it belongs: at the feet of Donald Trump, a sexual predator who lost the popular vote and fueled his campaign with bigotry and hate. Winning the electoral college does not absolve Trump of the grave sins he committed against millions of Americans. Donald Trump may not possess the capacity to assuage those fears, but he owes it to this nation to try,” Reid said. “If Trump wants to roll back tide of hate he unleashed, he has a tremendous amount of work to do and he must begin immediately.”

And that is how intelligent people reason and discourse.

“According to our insider, one woman Trump has not agreed to let off the hook is his former presidential rival Hillary Clinton, whom he continually lambasted as “crooked” during the campaign. We’re also told that the buzz inside Trump’s camp is that Rudy Giuliani is on the very short list to be our next Attorney General — and that whoever gets the gig will be under a lot of pressure to make good on the President-elect’s promise to prosecute Clinton.

“There are a lot of Republicans who are still very mad at Hillary and want them to make good on their promise to ‘lock her up,’” says our insider, repeating a chant that was repeated frequently at Trump rallies. “This isn’t about the emails. It would be about the Clinton Foundation.”

The whole purpose of the putative arguable Putin involvement in the electoral process must have been the destabilization of America. The current protests would then be just a small part to his eventual goal and must have been factored into the strategic plan as an important critical path activity. Indeed, how do we know if some russian agents might not be involved in stoking those protests, perhaps unbeknownst to Trump.

Trump is just the poor hapless horse that Putin hopes to ride to an eventual victory.

@Vincent Haynes November 11, 2016 at 4:33 PM re “You bolstered my case……ask yourself why did Obama’s Russia plans fall through…..who benefitted?”

Not so fast, my friend. Obama failed simply based there can be no long term bromance with Russia…just not possible. They are a natural adversary whose global ambitions cannot be achieved as an acolyte of the US.

The two nations will work together from time to time but they are unlike China for example. US and China will fight but basically always remain ‘friendly’ due to their current deep financial ties. Exactly the opposite is true for Russia. They will be friendly and enjoy beneficial business arrangements but are naturally the antithesis of the US.

To be clear the man will likely redact the current sanctions; he may seek some complicated solution to the Syria mess but Putin will take the US’ breakfast, lunch and dinner if Trump fulfills all his wayward talk.

Trump is not a traitor nor an idiot so he will snap back with force when he gets the real briefing book on what Putin is planning for his derriere.

So, those who benefited were/are the same players who are still benefiting and will continue to do so during and after this play at romance goes frigid.

Another thing to take notice about is this Turkey issue. They want the Imam Gulen extradited and Trump’s General Flynn has made noise about him…suggesting they may be willing to facilitate that.

That is worth watching because if that happens then that’s another item to cause explosion.

Not that US folks love the cleric or care about the Turkey issue in depth but they will if Trump acts whimsically and pressures the courts to extradite. They would be sending him to his death and that will be a big deal.
