Excuse me while I light my spliff.

Oh, God, I gotta take a lift.

From reality I just can’t drift.

That’s why I am staying with this riff.

– Bob Marley

I do not smoke. I am not a smoker. The first and last time a real cigarette touched my lips, I near choked to death and that was the end of that. However, despite my disclaimer, I am willing to light up a spliff.

The fore mentioned was my opening paragraph prior to viewing a disturbing video that was posted on the Barbados Underground, evidence of Police brutality – The Brutality of the Royal Barbados Police Force, with video. I saw a shirtless young man lying on a stretcher, pants soiled with blood and that haunting look of near death on his face. To serve and protect does not mean becoming a predator of the poor. That video now adds to the recent occurrences in Barbadian society that if not halted will reduce it to a state of anarchy. I hope such glaring evidence will not lead to someone seeking revenge, taking the law into their own hand as society continues to lose faith in the delivery of its just actions. The evidence is building.

How many of you have read of the court case that was reported in Barbados Today on July 2, 2016 in which a man who light up a spliff and threw it away as the police approached was charged $350.00 for the possession of that spliff? I wondered what the fine would have been if he had 2 spliffs. As I read it, I again got sick and tired of being sick and tired of what has been happening regarding the use of marijuana for the past 35 or more years. Then there was another case in which a hungry man stole food and was given 6 months in jail. The punishments just do not fit the crimes.

The recent reports of the Attorney General announcing the granting of bail to a policeman who was on remand for murder, adds to my observation. He spoke a few days before the officer was released on bail. He wanted to let us know what would happen. It was a testament to the fact that we have political bullies in Parliament who exert their power to get the things they want accomplished. We will never know the extent of his involvement in influencing the judge to grant bail. A lot has been said on the topic that I do not wish to regurgitate but I wonder why the AG was so enlightened that former police officer should be on bail, and never voiced his opinion when people who steal food are sent to jail, or stated that it is a waste of the courtโ€™s time even to hear a case of a person carrying a spiff or that the government has never found any concrete evidence why the use of marijuana remains criminalized.

What is even more disturbing is that the Chief Justice has not raised his voice in the matter which in now in the public domain. Yet his silence is no great surprise since he has been operating as an incompetent from day one. It begs the question is the Attorney General and by extension the ruling administration running the show in Law Courts and in enforcement of the law? I clearly remember when the workers of a Government Department went to clear an offending encroachment at the Villages of Coverley that a call from a Minister prevented them from taking action.

Recently, the case of the Chief Town Planner against Mark Maloney was granted a stay. It is another glaring indication that the Court system has been compromised. One hears stories about documents that go missing, files that cannot be found, tampered evidence but never before was a request made by the prosecuting attorney to have a person come to Court and he did not appear nor was any valid reason given as in this case with an outcome of a stay being granted to the offending party. If or when the case is ever called, the building next to the Flour Mill will be complete. It was left to the public to concluded that there must have been some agreement between the DPP and the Mr. Maloney. Again, the public can never be sure that there has been no interference in this case. So why is the state paying an unethical Director of Public Prosecution to be on the side of an offending party? This case has set a precedent for persons to refuse to comply with the directives of the Town and Country Planning Department.

The Court system is in shambles. It cannot guarantee a trial in a reasonable time. This is another way of guaranteeing that true justice will be denied because of the length of time it takes for the matters to be heard. Witnesses would have died or left the island. I too am aggrieved by the justice system. I have been waiting for the past 16 years to have a case resolved.

The questionable decisions in the law Courts have raised many issues involving oppression, race, class and the removal out dated laws which no longer serve the best interest of society. We also need laws that can be enforced as remedies for corruption, from the Constitution down our laws must be reexamined. In the year 2016 we simply cannot sustain a system that can only persecute the poor because drugs and guns are not imported by the poor. Well known rumors of the importers of these contraband goods are not even investigated far less have an appointment at the Law Courts.

Fifty years of independence and the Court System has been reduced to a satellite of a corrupt Parliament, with an unethical Director of Public Prosecutions and a Commissioner of Police whose hands are tied except for the execution by some of his officers of brute force towards the poor.

So where do we go from here? We must rethink this exercise of service to our country and the authority we give to caretakers on our behalf. The law and its enforcement must be honorable. It must be a privilege to serve the serve the people; to uphold and protect the rights of citizens and to do what is civil and just by them.

When all is said and done what is happening in Barbados will cause me to light up a spliff not only out of frustration or solidarity of there being no justice for the common man but more importantly because I want the people of Barbados to finally see the LIGHT. Prevent the rise of anarchy by persons taking the law into their own hands by joining me in signing the below petition to the Prime Minister. Let him know that the only consultation the people of Barbados need is on who will replace the Attorney General, the Chief Justice, the Director of Public Prosecutions and the policemen responsible for the above mentioned brutality. Remove the problem and the consequences will disappear. Also join the Barbados Lobby on Facebook because justice must be served!

This is the right time to put pressure on Fruendel Stuart, now that the politicians are all gearing up to pimp for votes from the same poor people they mistreat in 5 year increments….. .if the parliamentarians continue to keep the same old gang of tired looking parasites and crooks in league sucking on the the blood of the taxpayers, or do not make the necessary changes to the nasty system and monsters they created, or do not create new legislation to level the playing field for everyone on the island….keep exposing them.

Having recruited an inadequate quantity of skilled A-Class Carpenters and A-Class Masons in response to our 2-week Recruitment Fair,……………………..etc,etc
We give notice of our intention to submit applications to the Chief Immigration Officer for adequate Short Term Work Permits for Nationals of Caricom.

So what ever happened to our Vocational and Technical training programmes, at the Polytechnic and the various Skills Training Centres across the island ? Do we still maintain a Vocational Training Board? Another maintenance job that the government has neglected.
But like the man said, ” This government has got many a tradesman ,now doing security guard work.”
The Ministry of education, and Barbadians, are more taken up with earning an Associate Degree, a Master’s or a Doctorate, and to hell with City and Guilds, who most likely have pulled out of Barbados in disgust.
Recently we heard , not from the Ministry of Transport, but through employees of BTB, that the Transport Board has contracted mechanics from Trinidad to repair buses at Mangrove Depot.

When a third world country like Barbados is unable to train and provide its own artisans and technicians, then it is in a deep pit.
Well we are importing everything else, why not skill and labour. By the way, have you ever stop for a moment and observed the number of containers coming out of the Bridgetown port, compared with those going in?

Heather, Since, apart from the policemen, these are all constitutional offices that cannot legally remain vacant, with whom do you suggest that we replace them?

And why not simply LEGALIZE marijuana? Is not decriminalization a cop out? Why punish at all?

  4. @ Heather Cole, the PM is intelligent enough to ignore your “petition” but don’t worry…….

The BLP can carry out your requests when they are elected to office by the voters in Barbados. MIA is going to shake things up big time.

    Just be patient.

Colonel……they are growing young boys in men in Barbados….to fill the prisons…see who is making money from that, this is not normal.

Something is fundamentally wrong on such a small island with a university and a college, skills training programs. ..graduates with degrees and skills certificates from accounts, actuarial skills, engineers, trade skills, mechanics etc whom the businesses on the island as well as government feel hardpressed to pay good salaries to…but have no problem importing these skills and paying much more for them…causing fireign exchange to leave the island.

Something is wrong when both governments see nothing wrong with this and are unable to see the direction being taken.

That jada group is slipping into the realm of slavery.

  6. Heather is this your continuation of political diatribe and expressions on the black lives matter campaign? Have you done independent research on the case and those involved in the case from whence you read the article titleTHE BRUTALITY OF THE ROYAL BARBADOS POLICE FORCE, WITH VIDEO,
How then have you reached your conclusion or assumptions without further research
Have you now become a witness to crime by video with a belief that all what you ave seen is correct
are you not opening self to a sleuth of law suits by which a libelous allegation can be brought against you. Dont you realize your allegations can be damaging to the RBPF and a case can be brought upon which you must show evidence or knowledge to that which you have posted as true reference your attack “predator of the poor , very strong language
yes a picture can be worth a thousand words also a picture has many hidden truths some of which are not seen to the untrained eye

  7. Explain what is the wrong with the court granting a stay on the Maloney case on one hand you speak about fair and justice and when the court exercise that right to Maloney you chomp at the bit running away and shouting privileged right . Heather why are you so determined to carry out a battle based on division and anarchy.
Next the unfortunate actions by words of the AG ,yes i would agree that the AG comments did not pass the test of “time and place” . However lets us not be quick to rush to judge his words for in truth they were correct and not out of context with judicial procedure an action which is legal and a constitutional right govern by law

  8. @ac, the RBPF would have to produce the evidence that my claim is incorrect. Under normal circumstances a fully dressed young man who was in good health on arrival at a police station does not leave near death, shirtless and on a strecher with blood visible on his pants. Why did they keep him from his family if all was above board. The truth is that young man was almost murdered at District.

  14. Heather if your are going to stand up for justice you must stand up for truth and the truth of the matter you must first removed self from emotionalism and be girded and guided by the conduct of innocent until found guilty
In your last comment you have directed my attention one of legal process by which the claimaint has to produce burden of proof
However let me ask you this where you an eye witness to the allegations in the video and how do you know for a fact that the accused is poor and who were the police officers involved . Can you defend self from those simple yet complex questions during a rigourous cross examination if callef upon by lawsuit action against self

  16. Dwayne Bravo may have been under the influence of a spliff when he said Bajans want to build a statue of Pollard. Which Bajans that ? Was his information gathered in the criminally insane patients ward at Jenkins.

Idiot boy Bravo call Bajans petty because of the demand for more locals in the Tridents. He should be the last to utter those words after long ago telling us his interest lays only in the IPL and Trinidad. All of a sudden he shamelessly pulls the insular and petty card.

Pundits charge the Trini bosses of the Tridents of deliberately passing up the chance to sign Bajan stand outs Dwayne Smith, Carlos Brathwaite etc. so they could draft a set of mediocre Trinidadians. In the final stages they picked a few rookie Bajans in order to justify the poor(an) ordinary Trinis playing before them.

The results of the trickery were seen yesterday at the Mecca. It was wise financial thinking from the Froon administration not to give the franchise a red cent . The Trini Trident bosses display of business acumen is woeful. The more locals in the team the bigger the gate receipts unless they don’t care about gate receipts.

Where is Wayne and Carson Cadogan to give their views on this thorny issue. Heather Cole if you are a cricket follower we want to hear from you.

There is a white Englishman who is a frequent guest on โ€œMason & Guestโ€ and seems to have some connections with the Tridents. He said Dwayne Smith is not a significant loss to the Tridents, but kept on praising on De Villiers.

What I canโ€™t understand is, when we question the non-inclusion of Barbadians in a BARBADOS Tridentsโ€™ team, we are told CPL is a franchise. However, these same people want Barbadians to support the team, based only on the fact that Barbados is included in the teamโ€™s name, i.e. โ€œBarbados Tridents.โ€

Stupid Barbadians will find all types of excuses to go to Kensington Oval to watch MEDIOCRE Trinidadian players.

Don’t want to change the tone of this thread { cause ac pun a white water raft, and it clear she drop one o’ she oars} but I must tell you that the only nationality in the Caribbean that is bothered by the term INSULARITY is the Barbadian. When Carol Roberts says she has free tickets the lines light up. Why is that? Cause we bewitch as ……that’s why. How many Bajans went home when LIAT pulled up stumps and left for Antigua? Who pays the biggest subsidy now? Why is its return unconditional? How much of a service is it to Allen Chastanet’s people? What was the real reason that products from the Pine Hill Dairy got turned around while our market was flooded with theirs? Why Bajans used to prefer GRACE hotdogs in a tin rather than Farmers Choice? Brewed in Bim and therefore providing employment for Bajans, how did Banks beer face such stiff competition from HENIKEN and Red Stripe? We are CARRICLOWNS that’s why. Am I hearing about visas in Jamaica now? Call it CARICOM call it CSME you will find peace in the Middle East before the Caribbean comes together. Should the Tridents win watch how we block town in celebration.

  28. @Well Well.
Your post does not make sense (as usual).
You wrote…”That jada group is slipping into the realm of slavery.”
Do you EVER analyze what you write? Are you saying that “the Jada group”, (the company) are/is becoming slaves (slipping into slavery), or becoming slave holders: keeping their employees in slavery or treating them like slaves? Which do you mEAN? Slaves had no decision in what they were required to do. Since we live in a democracy no one can compel anyone to do a job they don’t want to do, or take a course they do not want to do. The choice of job or course is up to the individual. If someone goes to the SJPP and does masonry, there is nothing to compel him/her to become a mason after graduation. Business must continue and so if there is a shortage of labour non-Barbadian will have to be hired. Didn’t this happen when there was an influx of Guyanese labourers (undocumented) some years ago? Don’t you think that the beginning of the construction at Sam Lord’s Castle would have an effect on the work force; especially in those areas being discussed? As the economy improves don’t you think there would be greater demand for these skills? Don’t just jump on the bandwagon, seek out the real reason for these things and then write. But then again, we know you are anti-everything so your diatribe is to be expected. You are not prone to reason or rationality.

Hants, @ your 8.50 post, the operative word is not when it is “IF”. there is no guarantee that the next election will be won by the BLP, and that MIA will be the leader. Time will tell one way or the other.

DIVIDE AND CONQUER IS THE NAME OF THE GAME!

I agree with some of what Heather wrote but we should not make all sorts of allegations to be factual because they are grouped together that is questionable?

That said I perfectly understand the reason for a dysfunctional judicial system. They are far to few Judges employed to handle the workload. They are few if any Stenographers to assist and there is little if any technology to record court proceedings. Hence Judges are made to write every thing that transpires before them.

Yes I am all for advocating justice David

I myself am still waiting a judgment from the courts from 15 years previously.

I myself have been waiting on a case to be heard that has taken 8 years and changed Judges five times in pre- trial stages and was to be finally heard in January this year and was delayed until November.

Because of such myself and my family were removed by force six weeks ago, without any previous warning because the court gave the go ahead to claim our properties knowing that we had another case that if realized would of allowed us to pay our debts hands down! Our familyโ€™s lives are still in limbo!!!! The only thing we continue to rely on is the God of Providence that had sustained us thus far and has promised to fight our battles.

And Above all I will continue to praise his name in spite of the Adversary similarly doings like he did to Job, for me to think otherwise. I have news for him and others who seek my familyโ€™s destruction โ€ฆThe Victory is already won! We are all going to meet at the Great Judgment Bar to answer for our deeds done in the flesh.

So please when I speak the things I do I am only doing so out of the best interest for all. The Spirit of Divisive seeks All our destructionโ€ฆ whether on Race related Issues or otherwise! That is the Big Picture my young friend.

David If you care to perpetuate strife that is up to you. As for me I will continue to raise my voice even if discredited by you and others. I have long been doing so before it was heard on BU!

A little advice from an Old Soul, LEARN TO CONNECT THE DOTS, otherwise you will always be stuck not seeing the whole picture!
I have already shared with you that I seek not for fame or for the approval of antagonist; therefore I am free and not ENCUMBERED!

Heather Cole posted this article called “Prime Minister “Excuse me while I light my Spliff”

And here is where I have to say that AC is right

This is the Emotive Elements that are being USED TO “PLAY” the BU audience

1.PRIME MINISTER – the heading draws upper and middle class people
2.SPLIFF – the “lower” class man
3.TEIFED ARTICLES – Attorney General material from recent posts, Police Brutality, Prime Minister and Chief Justice materials

Why would Heather be using this parasitical practice? and (a) not posting her own original stuff, Devoid of Another’s Material or (b) NOT ADDING HER COMMENTS TO WHAT HAS ALREADY SAID?

    5 REASONS

1.SHE and the BLP ARE HARVESTING THE EMOTIVE MATERIALS FOR THE ELECTION

Issues are a Smoke Screen. The real Intent of issues in these times in which we live, is to Detract from what is really going on. Issues change from moment to moment and is meant to confuse people. It is a False Flag!

If we talk about Principles we can use issues to make a point. Principles are of a higher order than issues. That is why you would see as in Barbados the two political parties having similar philosophies and all they talk about are issues, while it is really the Philosophy that is the problem.

I would admonish you to move pass the Issues and see what the Underlying Causes are, and where all the real Dis-unity comes from. It is from the lack of Moral Underpinnings that comes from rejecting God and His Gospel!

You are fighting against both political parties, government ministers and politicians who have a vested interest in continuing to extend the decades old courtesy of keeping the corruption between themselves and the corruption they practice with the minorities in play…and against the people who elect them…for many more decades.

The goal is to break that cycle and expose them all, politicians, ministers and minorities, by any means necessary. ..any means.

Piece….they would be making a serious mistake using email addresses of people for any retaliatory tactics, particularly the email addresses of those who live outside Barbados.

Since the days when Mia joined with Cow, Bizzy, Peter Harris, and the corrupt DPP to get social media out of Barbados so they can continue their corruption and crimes against the majority on the island uninterrupted. ….social media has grown from strength to strength…if they knew how much, they would all be very afraid…instead of trying to regroup.

As a matter of fact, many people are hoping Mia is elected…cause if she and others believe Fruendel et al are having a hard time of it….just wait until the other political party gets their turn.

    From strength6 to strength.

  42. @ Piece, how can you hide behind a name that you created for the Internet and call me the scum of the earth. You know nothing about me. If you have a problem with the article that is fine but to personally attack a woman that you have never met or will ever meet is uncalled for. I am not afraid of you or anyone on BU so do not expect me to be bullied into silence.
If you do not have a problem posting quaint posters calling for change but yet have a problem with what I write that is on you. From what I can see this clearly references ther term having eye sight but lacking vision.

    @ The Honourable Blogmaster

    No.

I believe in “those who are on the Lord’s side, come ye out from among them” which is not the same as “the enemy of my enemy, is my friend”

It is a subtlety David like a whisper, like the original Hoad Article which elicited serious commentary, AND, then the second article which brought no additionality to the first since it did not secure the response which the first asked for from Hoad but continued in the same vein.

I do not want Heather to manufacture a thing.

I dont want it to be said that I am prescribing what Heather is to write about either.

All I am noting is that to have an article called 1. What do Red, green and yellow make published by Pachamama Tuesday and then on Wednesday and Article What does Yellow Green and Red make published by Heather Cole seems like, after viewing the currency that Pachamama achieved with Tuesday’s article, to be “PLAYING THE BU audience”

I have often seen you, after a topic has about 700 entries, say BU is going to continue the article under “Title X”

I have never seen you, rather rarely seen you, publish two “same title articles’

I may be wrong but I saw “Tales from the Courts โ€“ CJ Gibson Hammered by the Court of Appeal XXXII” appended to “The Brutality of the Royal Barbados Police Force, with video” and “the Decriminalization of Marijuana” reassembled and rehashed

Sincerest apologies Honourable Blogmaster but I just wonder about things.

I want you to read about KIM games and how snipers are trained it makes you understand what “anomalies” are and why you and I and all of us here outside of AC and Alvin say that the DLP and the BLP are the same thing – similar patterns over all these year.

And we are saying that we are tired of the SAMENESS,

But you dun know that David, as long as there is a “change in a pattern”, a metre of deliberation, a repetition of a question that never accompanied other discussions, they set the ole man off.

    @ Heather

Let the ole man disavow you of a few things Ms. Cole.

Last night de grandson showed me some cuts with a new movie with Mel Gibson and de man got hair in that movie!!

This thing that you and I are in called life, does not give us “replays” so when I see games, i going call it a game and I will explain why I am sure that it is a game.

This is the 3rd time that you have floated this petition thing.

I does sign petitions in Amurica Online all de time but you know why? two things a petition in america going do something, like get a part recalled, get a politician fired, get a road fixed.

Here in Barbados ALL IT GOING DO is give the harvester of the petition my information for wunna general election campaigns. And irrespective of what you tell me that is what I believe this is Ms. Cole.

Let me show you two “anomalies of note”.

AC does not post in the Brutality of the Royal Barbados Police Force blog because she and Pigrim HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED to READ ONLY but NOT ENGAGE!!

Their remarks and blogger support do not surface in any contentious articles which they are sure to loose or detract from “the DLP’s no existent currency”.

Let me give you a topic which is not purposed to be sexist in any way, form or fashion, but speaks to “spontaneity” a thing which is so lacking in your articles here.

“Qandeel Baloch: Pakistan social media celebrity ‘killed by brother’

The incidence of violence that is perpetrated against women is a global phenomena yet Ms Cole, it is a topic which is “noticeably absent” from your trail of BU articles.

Yet it is an incident that assails hundreds of Bajan women

I am not pigeon holing a sole here on BU, least of all you, but I ask you to look at SSS, and IslandGirl246 and Donna and Simple Simon, even AC, when comments are made per her Arizona significant other.

You see that there is “soul” in their articles and expressions that is not orchestrated for the sake of emoting.

Looka I going leave you alone. I going leh you do you ting, like I letting Walter do he ting like my fellow Blogger Hamilton Hill advices we going mek a statement at the ballot box.

We also going hope that when them varmints gone and your set comes that if wunna mess up, we will deal with you the same way, if wunna doan get duplicate ballot boxes and place them in concealed compartments in the vehicles that transporting the boxes t the counting station in 2023

When you find that all you doing is “begging” for our people to stop pretending – pretending to be our brother’s keeper” and hobbling disabled people up Parliament’s stairs, to make a point, and once we have made that point to discard the disabled person, as we leave them to “brek for themselves for a taxi”, it is at that point that some of us have to saw, “we dun lost this”.

My intensity is called bullying, so be it but to you Ms. Cole and other who are in this to kaboodle people Ms Cole, this in not a game.

Just so that you realise that de ole man, bully and nom de “plumer” ent hallucinating wake up and realise that you no longer have to go into Marl Hole to smell the ganja at the corner block, it is now inside your kids bedrooms, with their friends.

What greater irony do you want??

Ad yes i do like to quote MLK , he was a man of great integrity unattached from the political moorings of his days He spoke highly of those who had actively fought for civil rights , whether race color or creed or political affliction. Throughout his many speeches he gave high praises to Lincoln and those presidents who were instrumental in making civil rights a priority and reality
Absence throughout MLK speeches were an activism not to be favorable or operational to preset or present a candidate or party of choice to the people candidate /s which he would have most likely favored
Heather Cole activism smells deeply entrenched with politics and politicians who in the past were not helpful in keeping Barbados out of the environs of social decay.

The video included in this story contains strong language.

Hours after at least three police officers were killed in Baton Rouge, a man posted an uncensored rant on Facebook Live condemning the recent spike in attacks on cops.

The man, who is black and goes by Terrence Williams on Facebook, described in vivid detail a world where police donโ€™t exist.

โ€œIโ€™m watching the news and Iโ€™m seeing itโ€™s more dead cops,โ€ Williams said. โ€œSo Iโ€™m pissed off. Iโ€™m sick of this ghetto s**t. What the hell we gonna do without the police?โ€

He continued: โ€œWho the hell we gonna call on? The damn Ghostbusters? You canโ€™t call on me!

What we gonna do without the damn police if yโ€™all gonna try to kill all the damn cops in America!

Who you gonna call at 3 in the morning when your husband wakes up and decides to bust your damn throat? Who you gonna call? Your momma? Me? Your brother?

You ainโ€™t gonna be able to call me, I can guarantee you that, because I ainโ€™t waking up to that s**t!โ€

Williams also directly asked members of the Black Lives Matter movement how killing police officers over the actions of an โ€œindividual officerโ€ makes anything better.

โ€œLet me know, Black Lives Matter,โ€ he said. โ€œIโ€™m highly confused.โ€

Watch the video below (Warning: Strong language):

Three cops were killed and three were wounded after multiple suspects opened fire on the responding officers in Baton Rouge on Sunday. One suspect was killed and police were searching for remaining suspects.

In Milwaukee, another police officer was shot on Sunday in what officials described as a โ€œviciousโ€ attack as he sat inside his patrol car.

On July 7, five officers were killed in Dallas by Micah Johnson in a targeted attack on police.
