Estwick_BWA27,000 m3 x BDS$0.80 x 365 DAYS x 15 years = BDS$118,260,000.00 or BDS$118 MILLION DOLLARS.. Imagine being given the opportunity to spend BDS$18 MILLIONS DOLLARS to build a new water treatment plant with a no-risk contract with Barbados Water Authority where them would take all the water treated and where BWA would repay you BDS$118 MILLION DOLLARS in 15 yearsBU Tipster

The generation and distribution of water has always been a topical issue in Barbados long labelled a water scarce country. However, in the last 12 months it is difficult to recall a period post th 70s where access to potable water has reached such a level of criticality. The seriousness of water management in Barbados is best illustrated by the robinhoods who journey to the North of the island to distribute water.

We (BU et al) accept that the issues affecting water management are complex, we also accept many have been of our making. BU shares the following – Water Supply Agreement with Ionics Incorporated for the Supply of 27,000m3/Day of Desalinated Water from a Reverse Osmosis Desalination Facility.

What does the BLP initiating the deal have to do with the incumbent DLP government renewing?

  2. Rainy season start yet ?

Alvin….where did you just crawl out from…and why did the same Kellman and Fruendel and Donvillle and…..not kept their eyes on the Ionics scame for the last SEVEN YEARS…so that when the contract expired 4???? Years Ago….they, as the current government in power, if they were not also corrupt, would have taken it away from their bribers BIZZY et al and return it to the taxpayers, because it belongs to the taxpayers.

*scam…..Ionics scam Alvin, under DLP, still a scam.

  5. @Hants

We have been having intermittent rain. No downpours yet.

  6. @Well Well,
I was given A clean bill of health by the relevant health team. So you have me for a little while (or long while, who knows) yet. so hold your horses, more to come. You seem to see “scam” in every thing in life; politics, business, the church, everything. Exactly what is your definition of Scam?
What were the original terms of the contract? he document is here in full. What is wrong with renewing/ especially at a time of drought? Didn’t the Minister at the height of the crisis recently determine that there was a need for more desalination plants? In answer to those who wonder, who is presently operating the plant…not Bajans? So we haVE THE EXPERTISE HERE TO RUN IT.

We all have an appointment with that fellow nonetheless, it is good that you have been granted a few more breaths.

But I have a bone to pick with you though, two actually,

You have as usual refused to read the background information on this matter – the whole contract is here my man, you a big renown author cyan read?

As usual you have jumped straight in the pool not realising that this one is not at the one at the hotel where you are spending your vacation, it is the one “down by the nature park with the crocodiles”.

My girlfriend like she is right about you yuh!!

Which leads me to bone number two,

The Clare Cowan technology that you were all across BU saying that “Bajans should give your DLP government a chance and ting?

Now that it has been proven to be a sham what you have to say for yourself?

    You wnt got no shame??

My girlfriend travelling on business but she going deal with you when she comes back though

Alvin….read the contract, are you not tired looking stupid defending corruption, Cahill scam, Ionic scam, only reason you did not defend Del Mastros scam, is because they will be guests in a Canadian jail, one already is…..dont you get tired.

You were just claiming to laugh because BLP started Ionics scam, until it sunk into your hard hesd that DLP continued Ionics scam….now you try to save face…well laugh at that.

  9. Which is worst the suckers who signed the scam in the first place or the ones who extended the life of the scam?

  10. Well Well & Consequences Avatar
    Well Well & Consequences

Past Zone and that is BEFORE, Alvin the idiot jumped on here telling us yesterday that Kellman the idiot was warning BLPs Owen and Mia and Co….not to do it, it’s a scam, yet years later DLP idiots did the same thing ….lol

Of course Alvin the idiot, tried to walk back the comment but I aint having none of that, too late….lol

  11. Past Zone,
You asked the right questions. These folk just want to give people the impression that the DLP are the only “idiots” who run the country. They want to somehow shift the blame to the DLP. When the contracts were signed in the first place, the drought conditions, and the general water situation were not half as bad as they are now. It is wiser to extend the life of the arrangements. The company, private) is better placed at this time to continue operating it, than for government to take it over and assume that “mantle’. I thought they want government to get out of “business” and let the private sector run things. Isn’t that what Grenville is advocating? I have to take all their mouthing at face value.

Well Well, you have not given me your definition of “scam”. What makes Ionics a “scam” after fifteen years of operation? Do you consider ALL business ventures a scam? Do you think that if venture capitalists looked at every proposal for the establishment and financing of every proposal as a potential scam, that any progress would ever be made? If the young men who developed Yahoo or Google, Dell or Amazon, had had these attitudes to contend with that we would ever have seen the progress in the IT field? Tell me or show me otherwise. Or maybe your attitude only applies to Barbados. I wonder why.
What we need to pay attention is the gradual takeover of the BEACh, created by nature, that extends from the aquaTIC TO THE PIER HEAD, BY ELEMENTS of THE SOCIETY looking to maximize the use of those lands and turn them into their private fiefdoms. A “facility” has been created for the use of clients of the Jolly Roger Tours, and tourists, seemingly without the necessary Town planning approval or necessary Environmental Impact Assessment study. At least I never saw any advertisement for the study. Where s it?

  12. The issue on the table is why has the government renewed the Ionics agreement as reported on BU. The BLP was ousted and not relevant to the discussion. Now we have the DLP fowls trying to obfuscate.

Oh, Ye hypocrite of the highest order!

To quote the ‘Scottish’ barb: “Oh, what a tangled web we weave…when first we practice to deceive.”

I guess you are possessed with the power to time-travel. You speak as if the governance of Barbados is still with the political party that was in office during the period 1995 to 2007.
One can only guess who are these modern-day “white shadows” ‘lording’ over the black politicians and civil servants claiming to represent the interests of the country and the masses.

Alvin…you know why I cant answer you, because I know you did not read the Ionics contracts, neither did you read this thread from the beginning, just like you did not read the Cahill scam contracts…when you read them, let me know.

As to taking over the beach..I have no clue what you are speaking about. Town & Planning just last week publicly ripped down a shed some poor people put up illegally, why dont they do the same for whomever thinks they own the beaches in Barbados.

If it’s Sandy Lane Hotel folk you speak about why dont Fruendel tell them to cease and desist or send Dennis Lowe environment minister to stop the culprits and warn him of he tries to take a bribe to let it continue….he will be fired as environment minister.

What do you and the government think the taxpayers pay them for, just to take bribes and have someone else do their jobs…wake up Alvin.

  15. Yesterday we heard the BWA’s profesional squawkers beating their chests over the long awaited ,and expected, return of water to the people of the Castle Grant water distribution area.
Is the BWA really pumping water into Castle Grant Reservoir, which was last cleaned out 63 years ago in 1952 , some forty years since it was first commissioned? Has the reported crack in the holding tank which leaks water into the nearby Hunte’s tropical gardens been verified and rectified?
And at what stage is the water from Sweet Vale will be treated.?
The Tropical Gardens uses a high volume of chemical to control hers and pest, plus other. How can consumers be assured that there is no ingress of these chemicals into the water reservoir.?

On Brasstacks ,yesterday, a caller queried about air in the water meter being registered as part of the consumer volume usage. I am positive that the caller was assured by the BWA’s official that unlike the old meters, the new meters do not register air as part of the volume usage. If that revelation is true, then the Fair Trading commission should demand that the BWA in some fashion , compensate customers for being fleeced over the years, even if it means a moratorium on rate increases for a given period.

  16. Past Zone April 18, 2016 at 4:05 PM #

I think the BU family is expecting Mr. Ralph Bizzy Williams to come here and defend himself, anything less is going to be taken as confirmation that he is in on deals of fleecing the Government

Nothing new here. Bizzy and the elites have fleeced government long before anyone us were born. Sinckler and Owen said lately the Bizzy crowd treat their businesses as if they were government departments on the one hand and have perfected the art of forcing lucrative concessions from government on the other. If millionaire spongers posing as businessmen helped the national economy and generated sustained growth one could understand. Nothing of the sort occurs the Bizzy’s get flamboyantly richer everyday and the poor taxpayers who are the source of their bounty get poorer. Then lackey fcuktards like Andrew Bynoe, Tony Webster and Olu rise to their defense squealing don’t interfere with the social architecture, we like it so.

The Canadian dollar is rising but still low compared to 3-4 years ago, so your question is valid.

    scam
    skam/Submit
    noun informal 1. a dishonest scheme; a fraud. as in “an insurance scam – CLICO – Leroy Parris” synonyms: fraud, swindle, fraudulent scheme, racket, trick;

In the context that it is used here it refers to the DLP sweetheart deal with Cahill and Me Claire Cowan, with HER UNPROVEN techhnology which YOU ALVIN CUMMINS were championing for the Dangerous Lying Party of the DLP and the scam artistes of Denis Lowe, Denis Kelman, Darcy Boyce and Chris Stinkliar

As man Alvin why you just can’t say I was wrong as opposed to saying the “many other scams before cahill?” excuse.

You see why no one wants to buy the book of a liar?

Because the Royal Palms that you are planting are infected trees!!

Does that make you feel good about yourself now.

What is unfolding in Michigan should give the greedy politicians and their yardfowls on the island great pause when they opt to help and take bribes from the foreign and local parasites who come up with scams for self-enrichment, but can only do so by raping the country and people.

When they lose their investments because the scams did not work accordingly, someone has to pay.

The greedy and dumb politicians and yardfolws are perfect and well deserving targets.

Alvin..did any of the local and foreign parasites lose any money in the Cahill scam, they were all chasing down Clare Cowan and she them…like all their lives depended on it, know what I mean.

    http://imgur.com/hZYNrz5

Just imagine if we could come here and see “The “Bajans want Change” Activist Movement in Barbados gathers momentum.” fuh real!!

That story might have read like this.

“Earlier this week, a group of influential citizens in the Diaspora (led my the multimillionaire Hants) paid several hundred thousands of dollars to have this BWC poster, placed in the Duty Free Sector of the Toronto Pearson International Airport

The author who created this stunning is the internationally renown Advocate for Change, SSS who resides in Europe.

This “TransAtlantic Collaboration, led by SSS was supported by multimillionaire Hants who said that “his underwriting of the initiate was galvanized by words spoken by SSS during her ongoing canvassing for serious changes in the governance and inept management of the current DLP, aided and abetted by the Barbados Labour Party.”

“The poster has caused much stir and, when contacted by the BBC, the LoO Ms Mottley was quick to say that she and her team, the Troika, had collaborated in the initiative. Up to time of writing this could not be confirmed.

PM Fumbles, when contacted by the BBC. only grunted and appeared to give a customary disdainful remark about “people who would see Barbados fall”

Donville Inniss, PM hopeful for Barbads in 2028, said that “he would have preferred in the Diaspora were to have put that money to better use e.g. to support Stephen Lashley’s faltering Community development portfolio or his Ministry’s own “keep BIM alive” campaign.”

When the BBC sought to query whether the rumour that the ‘Keep Bim Alive” campaign, was in fact “only another slush fund for his PM campaign, and this desire to get Hants’ $$ in that programme was in fact just redirecting $$ for personal reasons, Mr. Inniss terminated the interview with the infamous words of “your mud*a pudenda”.

  48. Dr Estwick’s water plan.

Added by Sandy Deane on April 24, 2016.

    Saved under Local News

    inShare

Minister of Water Resource Management, Dr David Estwick, has rolled out a programme to address the water outages currently affecting the northern parishes of the island.

Estwick outlined his plan while addressing the monthly meeting of his St Philip West branch at the Princess Margaret Secondary School in Six Roads.

    page-4-Dr-David-Estwick-610x650

Disclosing that pumping at the Alleynedale Well, Molyneaux, Ashton Hall, St Joseph Hospital Well and the Whim on the west coast had to be all discontinued last week because there was not enough fresh water, Estwick announced that two emergency package desalination plants were on their way to Barbados and they would be in the Bridgetown Port very soon.

The St Philip West MP said that one of the emergency packaged desalination plants would be placed back at the Hope Plantation in St Lucy where it was located in 2004 and the other would be set up in the Battaley’s, Mullins Bay area in St Peter.

Dr Estwick further revealed that officials of the Barbados Water Authority had settled on two contractors to build two permanent desalination plants in the country.

Stressing that Government is vigorously pursuing plans to eliminate water outages across the country, Dr Estwick announced that he has already given permission to the Board of Directors of the BWA to ask that the Desalination Plant that already exists “carry itself to the maximum”.

Dr Estwick said he has asked William Industries to expand the present Desalination Plant output by as much as three million gallons.

He also gave residents of St Joseph, parts of St Thomas, St Andrew and St Peter the assurance that with the completion of the well at Sweet Vale, St George the water feeding into the Castle Grant Reservoir would address the current water outages in those areas. (NC)
