In a letter posted in 2011 on ISSUU.com  the Minister of Tourism said, “The guests of PURE Beach Resort and Spa will enjoy Barbados to the fullest. I guarantee it.” Almost a year ago Barbados Today carried a story – $500M snag: Luxury St. Philip tourism/residential project delayed by financial problems.

A visit today to the ISSUU.com (search Pure Beach Resort) shows the promoters have discontinued their promotional activities; and the much ballyhooed project appears not to have found investors/buyers to finance it. So much for  Government guarantees.

Will Sam Lords be the next broken promise?

    What about the Pickerings Project in Sen Lucy hailed and failed in the twinkling of an eye.Bajans have not forgotten Evelyn ‘ Breakthrough’ Greaves and his association with the failed Kings Beach Hotel at Road View,St Peter.What does the unofficial mayor of Speightstown Napoleon Austin Leonard Husbands have to say on this one and that one.The Dems cannot get anything right.They closed down 4 Seasons prematurely and now paying MAM nuff fees to get it back up and running.I saw a truck coming out of that location ‘breaking down’with lengths of steel last week Thursday.I hope it was not steal in dey again.I will have to call Serenader or Bongo!

    What is missing from national dialogue is the impact the failure of these projects and in some cases the delay will slow our recovery. The PM is reported to be Chair of the sub committee of cabinet responsible but he does not report to Barbadians.

    I’m glad returnees are keeping their had earned savings/pensions in their respective countries…! If Barbados wants foreign currencies it should go out and earn it the hard way, work for it… Maybe then it would value money rather that wasting it on stupid projects…!

    You and I know that you will not hear anything from this impostor we have trying to fill the shoes of a proper Prime Minister of Barbados such as Errol Barrow,Tom Adams or Owen Arthur.
    On Brasstacks yesterday,someone pointed out quite tellingly,that neither Erskine Sandiford nor Freundel Stuart can be labelled natural leaders rising to the surface on their own “steam” and by their ability to attract camp followers to their cause but that they ‘floated’to the top like detritus
    does,when a vacuum, created by the untimely death of the more naturally endowed incumbent,foisted them,unknown and untried,stupidly ignorant of matters of Public Finance, Monetary and Fiscal conservatism,visionless of what and where they would like to take Barbados and surrounded by lion sharks who seeing a bumbling,dithering fool,did all kinds of scams to rip off an unsuspecting Prime Minister and thus the country Barbados.
    Sandiford,Stuart and Barbados would have been better served if the first two had remained steadfast to their calling of teaching.As politicians they are resounding failures and history will so record it.

    Mr Watson Parkinson@ you are right , My parents came back and was robbed by PIMP title holder L Bolden and the police did nothing , But God send a COW truck to put him off the road , Where he then use that not to go to court , Oh the pain as him and his wife drive around Barbados free after taking 100s of thousands of cash ,

    lack of enforcement id the problem , Lawyers croooks ,move up to be judges helping out other crooks,
    To avoid jail and the reputation of Barbados ,
    Ponzi needs new money to live and the cash dry up by returning National returning back to America most to Florida to live ,

    All of the projects have the same theme , LAND FRAUD
    Now the crook all looking for more and more money and its hard to let go ,
    Always ask for clear title 70 from 1985 and see the gaps , holes, lies , crooks,
    just ask UDC and NHC also for deeds, ,
    All they did was to transfer the LAND TAX NUMBERS TO THE CROWN AND PAID NO ONE,
    THE PERSON NOT PAID WAS VIOLET BECKLES , SO FREE LAND FOR THE GOVT MINISTERS AND THE PAYOFF FROM THE AUDITOR FOR PROOF OF PAYMENTS FOR ALL LAND TO THE OWNER FOR PROJECTS,
    RED JET WENT THE SAME LIKE WAYS,
    THE GOVERNMENT WANT TO MAKE A PROFIT BEFORE YOU.KICK BACKS AND PUT BACKS.
