One is to moderate and say “Stop”. In the absence of that I think people need to try to protect themselves from wild accusations, probes into private business, threats, etc. I do not know who this person is and if he may actually be a threat. This is not new.

Now, I made a number of points–salient, I thought to the question of a named person under a ‘microscope’, I think that most of my remarks have stay along those lines. With some diversions.

More important–and we had it with another thread–the author has stood back in silence. That is another issue and we cannot control that. But, like throwing mud and then running for cover, we can do a lot better.

I really have the capacity for a lot, as I work as I feel and these things slide around my work. I have no problem desisting but please also do not let it restart.

One is to moderate and say “Stop”. Just a thought. It would seem that a certain part of the blog-erati want the blog to “Barbadians only” (see “…made mention that Bajans where trying to have a conversation amongst themselve and a foreigner was butting in”). Correct me if I misinterpret. If I have correctly interpreted, I’m not sure if that is possible.

Many can claim to be, for sure, but who truly is? Perhaps that merely encourages people to adopt a Bajan persona.

If the intention is to ensure that only insiders participate, then perhaps the solution is to make the blog ‘members only’ with some show of bona fides to keep foreigners out. We’re back at xenophobia, I’m afraid.

LIB, I have one thing to say to you. Any politician who has been in politics for 30 years and has survived public scrutiny in Barbados has to have a clear path. That is not to say that he might not mess up.

But there is little that hasn’t been said about David Thompson and he took the full brunt of the BLP for 14 years and emerged. Not usual but a test of some character.

The man clearly takes his job seriously and has Bajans behind him.

Note Mr. Hinds’ words about “Thompy” and listen to Mr Symmonds make a series of poorly veiled innuendos (I recall 3 or 4). Those were the incidents to which I referred. Mr Symmonds was conversing with BLP party faithfuls.

Again, given how little I know of how Bajans speak to each other, it’s quite possible that I totally misunderstood.

LIB, you should not have to defend yourself against such a person as Adrian Hinds, a man who clearly allows testosterone to rule over intelligence. He has his little groupies here, who hang on his every misspelled, grammatically incorrect word. AH is accustomed to being the head cock in the yard and doesn’t take to kindly to a new rooster invading his territory. He is a petty bully who takes pleasure in trying to intimidate others rather than debate with integrity. If you attempt to pursue or clarify a statement he has made that has no merit or factual basis, his first instinct is to attack and reveal that he has knowledge of you that he can put to damaging use. This has been his “modus operandi” for years.
LIB, what AH’s real problem with you is ENVY, pure and simple. You are highly educated, have held important positions and live a full life, something that AH can only dream of.

What fascinates about some of these threads is the extent to which words seem to get strung together without a clear sense of what they may imply. Take:
