Oh now you David have a selective few on whose shoulders the blame should be placed for MIA given a special right of passage to practice law but not on the one who have accepted the position ,one who is now positioning herself to be a champion of integrity and law and in so doing she should be seeking to correct any injustices given to her by law showing herself to be absent and free of any anchors that would taint or corrupt her character.
so the blame game would continue and the only one who can correct the deliberate controversial injustice is MIA by taking the examination required of every lawyer seeking the profession while she run and hide undercover expecting others to take the blame and make excuses for her .
Jepter Ince apologize but for the blp yardowls that is not enough and he should resigned but for MIa she has special rights and privileges to practice law and she remains on safer grounds

  2. angela Skeete Avatar

Is this the same MIA talking about illegalities who practice law without a LEC
You go and relaxed yourself fool and there is more to come

  3. Yes Jepter Physical Ince apologized but you- the quintessential yardfowl- continues to defend the fact that he shouldn’t have blah blah…

You may have the last word.

  4. There is something called “parliamentary privilege” which ALL politicians use to speak untruths or malign the characters of individuals, without fear of being sued for defamation of character.

The same “privilege” Mottley used to “speak untruths about Gollop” is the same “privilege” bombastic Christopher Sinckler used when he “got up in parliament” to malign the characters of RBC Economist Marla Dukhara, women in general and all those individuals whose views do not agree with his.

The yard-fowls are at it again with a dead issue…. Mottley and LEC………….. but we have not heard anything from the Attorney General, who has the AUTHORITY to PREVENT Mottley from practicing law if she is not LEGITIMATELY QUALIFIED to do so.

If Mottley is not a qualified lawyer in Barbados, then Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite is equally as guilty if he, as head of Bar of Barbados, allows her to continue to practicing law in Barbados.

The time has come for Adriel Brathwaite to “clear the air” on this issue.

  5. Now that Ince has apologised to those that he offended can we discuss ways to increase

Black participation and OWNERSHIP at the upper levels of Business in Barbados ?

Can we discuss ways to increase WORKERS having INVESTMENTS ( SHARES ) in companies

    that get government contracts ?

Government contracts are paid for with TAXPAYERS money. get it!!!!

What do you expect when we are still so afraid of attacking/critising whites ?
A few years ago a so-called Bajan white beat up a black boy and called him a nigger. The so-called Bajan white is an attorney. He was rewarded with a Q C.
Not so long ago Alair Shepherd , a White attorney took down his pants and showed a Black female high court judge his naked backside-not a word from COW and Company.
When Bizzy decided to marry a Black woman COW said he could not understand why Bizzy(his Brother) was “putting himself through that”. In other words : why marry a Black woman-nothing from Innis and company.
When Bizzy was deciding to step down from heading his companies he chose a white Englishman-not one of the black directors and long standing senior staff was considered
It is a shame that a Blackman had to apologise for simply saying that the corporate community is parasitic ; the bigger shame is that the political hacks from the BLPDLP cannot see the bigger picture.

    Ince has apologised.

Next its MIA AMOR MOTTLEY’S turn to produce her Law Certificate, her LLB and we also want to know who it was that introduced her to the Bar. It is a perquisite that her backers would have seen her LAW CERTIFICATE and her LLB.

How did she get to be a QC?

  8. Do you even understand how a QC is selected/nominated?

How about this: Mia shows her LEC when Michael Lashley explains why he signed a lease agreement with Transtec, the same company that has the contact to repair Transport Board buses, the same company that has provided the real estate to facilitate DEl MASTRO, a Canadian before the court. BTW what has become of Clare Cowan?

  9. Dam you David putting words in my mouthwhich i did not say is tantomount to libel.never once did i ever mention my position on whether Ince should have apologize or not
Yes i criticized the basis for the apology bent on a Truth but Jepter Ince making an apology only he knows the reason he did and why

Mr Ince’s comments are not novel. Mr Basdeo Panday of T&T made a similar reference some years ago!

But a little history of the position taken by Panday prior to the 1995 General Election is relevant. Readers will recall that before that event Panday was fulsome in his condemnation of what he termed the “parasitic oligarchy” in the society. The composition of this oligarchy was not restricted to any ethnic group but comprised all ethnicities. Its defining feature was that it ensconced itself in a monopolistic position in different sectors of the economy and sustained itself through a symbiotic relationship with the higher echelons and key decision makers of the government. It vigorously resisted any competition or attempts to encroach on its demarcated spheres of economic activity. The overall development of the society was the least of its concerns. It was not a tightly knit group but its solidarity was based on the members’ understanding of the commonality of role, circumstances and interests.

  11. The air would be cleared when Mia does the right thing and takes the required examinations
She knows that the AG cannot remove her. But what she fails to realise that her character would be forever tainted by a corrupt law which has grant her a special privilege absent and denied to others

  12. @Jeff

There are many degrees of separation between the private sectors of Barbados and Trinidad have a look at the products exported by the PRIVATE sector in T&T compared to Barbados.

  17. In June 2015, the Attorney General of Barbados, Adriel Brathwaite, COMMITTED his office to INVESTIGATE whether or not Mottley is legitimately qualified to practice law in Barbados.

June 2017, TWO YEARS LATER, Brathwaite has not REVEALED the status of the investigation or PUBLICLY stated if Mottley is a qualified lawyer.

If the investigation revealed or the DLP had actual proof Mottley was not a lawyer, rather than relying yard-fowls who cannot write proper sentences to push the issue, the DLP hierarchy would have CAPITALIZED on the issue by presenting the evidence to the public, because it is politically expedient for them do so, since Mottley is their “political opponent.”

Mottley knows the “AG cannot remove her” is political rhetorical diatribe based on speculation, since the “ugly chicken” does not know anything about the process. If you knowledgeable about the system, you would not be writing shiite.

…………. unless of course the “ugly chicken” is WILLING to PRESENT any evidence from the AG, or otherwise, to substantiate its claim and not the usual incoherent, generalized statements.

Ince apologized cause he is a well known idiot and another coward for a government minister who can only stand up and bark at their own people, but not at the parasitic minority business people,

  19. WW&C

That’s the reason why the yard-fowls are attempting to change the focus to the LEC dead issue.

  20. Wow. He actually apologised. You dont get that a lot. Kudos to him.

  21. @ William Skinner

What does Jeptar Ince’s apology have to do with Bizzy Williams marrying a black woman? By trying to slant the discussion in the direction of a racist issue, I believe it’s you that’s not seeing the bigger picture.

Seems as though you are basing your comments on the “narrow mined” misinformed belief that the “corporate community” comprise of Bizzy, COW and a few other “whites.”

What do your comments say for big black businesses such as Jordan’s Supermarket, A1 Supermarkets, Everson Elcock Electrical, Jose y Jose and many others?

Do you recall the name of the company that was contracted after the new DLP administration “fired” SSS from completing the extensions on the ABC Highway? Or do you recall the company government contracted for its multimillion dollar road project from Rock Hall to St. Martins in St. Philip, which commenced in October 2012?

It was not C.O Williams, but Rayside Construction………….. a subsidiary company of CLICO.

Then there are black businesses that benefited from government contracts, such as Trans Tech Inc., that repair Transport Board buses and Sanitation Service Authority trucks; Mapp’s Uniforms Unlimited and Arthur’s Construction.

What I find disturbing is the fact that a government senator is criticizing the same businessmen to which his administration promised to award majority of government’s contracts.

Why not start by looking into the mirror and see the self-image of your dear loving deceitful lying party’s commitment to ensure at least 40 % of all government’s contracts go to small to medium sized businesses aka black businesses to enfranchise not only economic black ‘capitalist’ underclass but also to put more money in the pockets of black workers to empower them to acquire the kind of investments you so glibly alluded to?

It’s time we stop blaming the fast disappearing white business people and look towards the black political mirror to see where the problem really lies.

Unless the mulatto Maloney is considered not only as a private sector parasite but also as a “small to medium sized” businessman we cannot see how the following 2008 manifesto commitment can be achieved by 2018:

“The new DLP Government will therefore put in place the legislation, institutional structures and resources to increase the number of self-employed entrepreneurs from about 10% of the working population to 20% by 2016.

We will assist in the creation of new enterprises through training, direct subsidies and easier access to capital for investment. To facilitate this process, the new DLP administration will:

    • Establish a Ministry of Innovation and Economic Empowerment.
    • Provide training and mentorship for potential entrepreneurs.
    • Enable entrepreneurs to access capital through the Credit Unions and other government supported institutions.
    • Help entrepreneurs with market research and the marketing of their goods and services.

    • Set aside 40% of all Government procurement requests for small and medium-sized enterprises

    • Find investment funds and encourage the University of the West Indies and other entrepreneurial organizations to intensify research and development on solar power and other alternative sources of energy.”

It was wrong and smacks of privilege. Even the way Ms. Mottley flaunts the recommendations is distasteful. “

  27. Why not ask the Registrar or the Attorney General if they have a problem with it?

Let Douglas Trotman do his own nitpicking at Mia.

  28. Let us agree with you, Mia is flaunting and it smacks of privilege, guess what, it is happening with a DLP Attorney General in office.

  29. Carson C. Cadogan Avatar

    A quote from Mark Adamson

    1) Under the Legal Profession Act 370 (the laws of the government of Barbados), it is the High Court of Barbados that is responsible for admission of lawyers to be officers of the Court, upon these lawyers’ applications to the said court, and upon their meeting certain legal requirements as are referred to within the said Act. So how is it being claimed by many people that Mottley does not have a certificate in legal education (a requirement), yet – were she to have long time ago been granted an exemption from the legal requirements (legal qualifications included) – which was possible in her case (S. 5 of the said Act) – the assumption must be that she still did not have a right to be admitted to the roll of practicing attorneys in Barbados. Hence in view of the truth that she may have been given an exemption it
still did not mean she had a right to be admitted to the Bar. So, given that she has been long admitted to the bar the question ought be: why was Mottley given this privilege of having been admitted to the Bar without a legal certificate of education??

    2) Given that Mottley may have got an exemption where was/is the evidence that she may have got this exemption from having the prescribed legal qualification and from whom and at what time??

    3) Given that Mottley may have been given such an exemption from due legal qualifications, why have not so many others been given the same privilege that Mottley may have been given??

  30. Things must be bad to be quoting Adamson whose mantra is “down with the blasted DLP”

It is all pappy show as the Trinidadian would say.

Getting to the bottom of this Law Certificate fiasco has the potential to blow a lot of things SKY HIGH. trust me. But it is my considered belief that you all do not want that. This is something of WATERGATE MAGNITUDE.

  36. Yes you are correct, this is Watergate Magnitude and the DLP Attorney General has done nothing about it for 2 years after promising an investigation -go figure!

That investigation was completed more than two years ago. The results are known, but no action. Maybe this will get him to do some work for a change.

  38. Good, we are making progress. BU will join you from time to time to ask this issue of the LEC be put to bed.

  44. Shiite David…
…wunna got Carson wukking for his scratch grain today…

What is the big problem? Mia will just pass a law regularising her status after the next election… wuh boss, she will have so many seats that if she wants to, she can pass a law making it legal for her pal Peter Pollster to practice law in Barbados….

Carson is just spitting in the air…. the fact is that if Adriel can be a lawyer, then any one who completed fourth form can be too…. Nobody gives a shit about any LEC…..

  45. The yard-fowls are making a valiant attempt to change the focus of every subject on BU to Mottley and the LEC issue, while ignoring the fact that the ONUS is on Adriel Brathwaite to reveal the truth.

But what can we expect from an Attorney General who, immediately after the 2013 general elections, also PROMISED to INVESTIGATE “vote buying;” and four (4) years and four (4) months later, we have not heard the STATUS of that investigation or if he was able to IDENTIFY those persons allegedly involved in the activity.

Or when asked about illegal non-nationals squatting and illegally hoarding land for relatives and friends in his constituency at Rock Hall, St. Philip, AG Brathwaite responded by saying he had friends there as well.

Cadogan, perhaps you should also inform dishonest Michael Carrington that “he should do the decent thing and resign or retire from the legal fraternity,” because he had to be FORCED by the court to repay his former wheel chair bound senior citizen client, after with-hold the gentleman’s funds for a number of years.

  46. @Artax

The bigger issue is pressuring Adriel about the LEC when the yardies ask about it. It is a more important debate that Physical Deficit being forced to apologze to the private sector.

  47. angela Skeete Avatar

yes sirreee David the speckled fowl the LEC is a bigger issue as you ofall people so succinctly discerns that the TRUTH Matters
Ince Apologize and his apology is now a known fact, just as Mottley not having the proper credentials to be a lawyer is a known Fact and the question of how and why she is practicing law would continue into this election cycle with a purpose and intent of society knowing the Truth and not the furthering of lowering the bar disguise as special privilege
Question what is so special about a person earning their wings without being taught how to do so , as with this ongoing issue
Now if the AG cannot and will not dispatch with haste a resolution Mia character and indiference to integrity would be hoisted as a prime example of corruption and deceit

….I do accept that is how they were socialised and more than likely being in the minority in their chosen place of residence makes it even more vivid for them.

  49. @ David

    I agree!!!

The fact that the DLP yard-fowls are more interested in this LEC non-issue than the DLP’s political hierarchy, who would have obviously capitalized on the implications arising therefrom, should tell the intelligent among us the yard-fowls are spewing political rhetoric.

As I mentioned in previous contributions, two (2) years ago, Adriel Brathwaite promised to commit his office to investigate Mottley’s legal certification. As at Saturday, July 1st, 2017, Brathwaite has not made the status of the investigation public nor has he addressed the issue since first doing so two (2) years ago in June 2015.

In his capacity as the Attorney General of Barbados, Adriel Brathwaite is Leader of the Bar of Barbados and Parliament’s principal legal advisor, as well as the guardian of the public interest.

As such, the ONUS is on him to reveal to Barbadians if Mottley is legitimately qualified to practice law in this island.

Until Brathwaite informs us about Mottley’s status as a lawyer, the shiite from the resident DLP yard-fowls should be dismissed as party political diatribe.
