unbeliefThe following is from Gospel according to Mark:

22And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

It comes from Mark 9.

I have long loved this verse because it best describes the “state of flux” that I, and hopefully a few of you, the lukewarm dwellers, dwell in.

For me that verse best represents a Moho, similar to that Mohorovičić discontinuity, that  boundary between the Earth’s crust and its mantle.

Like this thing called belief, the Moho is purported to be in a constant state of change from solid to liquid to gas or so de ole man’s memory would seek to recall from geography classes. No one has ever seen it but seismic readings so intimate.

And yes, “let Google be your friend”, while pertinent to what might be disinformation, is not really central to what I would wish to achieve with this submission.

Lord, I believe, help thou mine unbelief is non partisan, insofar as it has no BLP nor DLP politicking in it. It is that admission of a scientist knowing that he does know fashioned for a believer, or one who knocks upon the door.

De ole man submits it here, to the BU audience THAT MIGHT BE INTERESTED, with a flailing hope that those who have the knowledge can indeed espouse here and share insights with floundering souls, like mine, which know that I see through a glass darkly, but like the Eunuch would wish to “understand that which I readeth…”

And yes…we can be assured that not many will come here, but, those who do come should be able to take hope that those of you who “know” will share, and care, for the Word in which you believe in such a manner that you do nothing but “help thou in increasing belief in His Word…

    You were brought up with the fear of an unknown/unseen/unprovable god extracted from a book that I consider to be full of myths by your mother.

    The catholics have always said give me a baby upto 7yrs and the child will not deviate from the path when it grows older.

    It is impossible for you to renounce your faith.

    Likewise you must appreciate other individuals who were not thus fed.

    Nothing could be further from the truth. You are building straw men which you then plan to burn….

    One wonders where you would have gotten that impression. Perhaps from Bushies’ ability reference it from time to time… or to explain its meaning. The Bible is a VERY special book, however you look at it…. and is much more complex than even you surmise….

    It however is NOT a basis for learning about God, or for coming to an understanding of the purpose of life. The Bible is actually a beautiful, advanced, complex tool, one from which the uninitiated should be protected… for their own good.
    Bushie mostly refers to the Bible to demonstrate to the misguided how it lies at variance with their religious dogma….

    Obviously it makes no sense quoting the bible to convince those who are non-believers.
    LOL…. it don’t even make sense quoting it to believers – cause the just cuss you for pointing out how it says the OPPOSITE to what they think it should be saying…. as we saw with the trinity, with parables, etc.

    When Bushie speak of fundamental truths, it is about the indisputable realities that impact our five senses….. the physical world around us.
    The way to learn about God is via the nature of things ALL AROUND us…. These fundamental truths SHOUT loudly the nature of God, the message that he is sending, and indeed, the very purpose for which the exercise called ‘life on earth’ was initiated.

    It is from this basic, common point that we should begin to search for the elusive tree ….

    Now that you have put the Bible in its place (rightful context) as not being the only Word of any god but the inquisitive thoughts of men with fertile imaginings let us discuss other books worthy of equal intellectual stimulation and just as helpful in explaining the meaning of life and death.

    Why not start with the easiest bit of ‘copycat’ creativity and tell us if the Koran can tell us anything about your well-know fundamental “truths”?

    After that we can even visit the Egyptian library to read the ancient text of the Book of the Dead or even the Code of Hammurabi or even further back to the early Sumerian tablets starting with the Enuma-Elish.

    Maybe after you have undergone an operation to correct your intellectual myopia we might just introduce you to the Avesta. A most ancient book of revelations which form the bedrock of your own Judeo-Christian dogma (in its purest from) and which the initiated call the paradox of opposites: Light vs. Darkness, Good vs. Evil; G(o)od vs. Satan (D)evil; Truth vs. Falsehood.

    Even you, Bush Tea, would make a good Zoroastrian given the co-operative model view of the workings of society. You will be warmly welcomed to the watery club of the eternal fire:

    “In Zoroastrianism, the purpose in life is to “be among those who renew the world…to make the world progress towards perfection”. Its basic maxims include:

    Humata, Hukhta, Huvarshta, which mean: Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds.

    All of that long talk and you can’t tell me how the universe begun? And as your five senses ought to have told you that for every beginning there ought to be an end, so when will the universe end? And don’t insult my intelligence by telling me that it all started with BIg Bang -which obviously is a scientific hypothesis. Yes I am looking around my world and universe and I do in fact see something much bigger than man at work, but where is your empirical evidence rather than a divine command theory which is erected on mere metaphysical speculation? Give me something tangible to work with to convinced the atheist that the universe and nature are in fact the work of God and does in fact prove his existence? Beyond that you need to keep yah mout shut and wait like the unbeliever to see in fact if as the Bible claims Jesus will return.

    Kant, argues that without a moral imperative the concepts of right and wrong does not exist because what is right in one society might will be wrong in another devoid of universal understanding of morality. Let me ask you this question as I do others: without the Church, Temple and Mosque, what would stop you from murdering, raping and steating? In other words: without an universal understanding of morality what would prevent you from have sex with your daughter?

    Without an universal understaning of morality (divine or secular), if I take a small child and cut it up into small pieces would you say I did any wrong? In other word: without an universal moral directive, what would prevent a man in Africa and one in New Zealand from cutting that small child into small pieces? What tell those two people from different parts of the globe that it is wrong to murder without a universal moral understanding?

    The same moral compass that pointed Cain, after killing his brother, to have sex with his sister or mother to facilitate the existence of degenerates like you to obey a god that demands the following as a show of loyalty and adoration:

    “God commanding Moses to kill:

    Kill everything that “breathes” from humans and animals! Deuteronomy 20:16.

    I am quite certain when Columbus, Cortes and Pizarro were rescued from the killing pangs of hunger and thirst by the ‘un-christened’ people of the so-called New World they did not stumble upon the same “Church, Temple and Mosque” you naively believe are the ‘singular’ houses of the one and only Solar Deity.

    So Mill, without that universal truth/moral imperative/ universal moral understanding, the concepts of Right and Wrong/ Good and Evil cease exist because take Papa New Guinea for example: tribes in that country practiced homosexuality as away of life for hundreds of years. The very practiced that is frowned upon in some western and most Middle Eastern societies.

For many here are driven from and within an evolution paradigm which they then dare to apply to the Biblical paradigm and then jump up and down philosophically on some soap box as if they have outwitted even GOD himself. When the the noblest moment of their venture lies at the heart of their carnality which in the face of GOD they can only beat their feeble human limbs in frantic realization of the futility of their quest. In short, human knowledge and what we buildup and praise as knowledge, wisdom and understanding is simply foolishness in the sight of GOD.

    Take read of Paul and Peter/s conflict within the church and the division that cause both believers in Jesus to separates through disagreements on those matters that are tangible and applicable to early church law ,
    Now the bible presents Paul and Peter as men as of God who would have been in touch and listened to God every word with full obedience, Yet both met where unable to reach an understanding to agree on a principle of truth and its application within the laws of the church and as a result led to division within the early church

    There is a BBC article which speaks to IQ (the intelligence Quotient) and posits that while it has changed/increased over the years we are dumber.

    It would seem to me that the conundrum here remains the same as that one faced thousands of years ago when various parties were, among several other things, challenged with what books would make it into the Holy Bible.

    For even after much scholarly debate, and/or spiritual guidance, they, like us, arrive at a place where, irrespective of what was included, or what was omitted, faith remains faith and belief remains belief and it is upon these that all of our deliberations rest.

    For me, it is the little details which bring me to the conclusion that there is a design and purpose afoot that, while it is not visible to the eyes, gives currency to the validity of a thing, in this case the Holy Bible and more correctly its Promise.

    For example, Russia steams to Syria to help the latter in its war against (the USA and) others of its allies and along the way it stops in Spain.

    Why, in the face of Spain’s membership of NATO, would Russia make that stop with its flotilla of vessels? and submarines, do not forget the submarines, and why would it send its only aircraft carrier to the Mid East?

    Why does a vessel going to war stop to refuel? that in simple terms would be indicative that such an army “does not have the supplies to effect their ultimate mission”!

    This is like a Hollywood movie, where Indians are going to besiege a wagon train WITHOUT ARROWS!

    Is it that the pause was strategic to (a) test NATO cohesion and resolve and (b) sound out its new secret? allegiances in, and among, NATO members (which some consider to be a faltering behemoth) or possibly (c) to employ alternative fueling mechanisms that are not known to the USofA? (Not all Berthing/refueling processes are “above ground”)

    But I digress as usual.

    For this old man, the little “detail” of pertinence is that which appears in John 18: 38 “Pilate saith unto Him, What is Truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in Him no fault at all.”

    It is the minuteness of the detail, yet the complexity, which, for me, the ultimate Le Carre believer, again confirm that position for me, one which I am assured by many here is fallacy, that position of belief, albeit not of the type that can move mountains, yet.

    And yes, I too use the circuitous reasoning that I ascribed to Dr. GP earlier in this digital missive.

    But so too do all scientists who, based on that which they see, extrapolate towards that which CANNOT BE SEEN AT THAT TIME, yet, in the fullness of time, their postulates become known, like Copernicus’ heretical posits.

    Your instincts about the bible are well founded. It is a complex piece of supernatural work, which has been designed specifically for advanced ‘students’. It is really THE reference document on spiritual Law – the absolute FINAL law of the land, ….and its longevity and pervasiveness cannot be explained in other than supernatural terms.

    Starting to find truth by referencing the bible then, is like looking to learn mathematics by starting with “Advanced Mathematics for Engineering and Science”: by C F Chan Man Fong, D De Kee , and P N Kaloni., where the first chapter deals with a review of calculus and ordinary differential equations….. madness.
    And obviously too, there is no need for such a document to be “error-free in every way” …or to contain every possible chapter /’book’ – since it is targeted to persons who could EASILY identify any such errors, ….and who could probably write a chapter or two themselves any damn how….

    As Bushie has been suggesting to Pacha, the CORRECT approach is to forget that such advanced manuals even exists …. and begin with basic principles – in mathematics for example, we begin by learning to count on our fingers and toes – where we can PHYSICALLY see the relationships, the order, the logic and the beauty of the subject.
    We then move to basic equations and even some geometry ….. and AFTER this all begins to make sense, ….THEN we start to look at a “review of calculus….”

    Same shiite….
    Look around you…wherever you are, and you CANNOT help but see the MAJESTY of design … of brilliant engineering that surpasses ANYTHING that our best brains have EVER been able to accomplish. Indeed, just look at our bodies… even now, Our top brainiacs have not yet been able to decipher the complexities of engineering involved in making us who we are…

    ALL THAT BUSHIE IS SAYING then, is that we can logically – and without fear of rational contradiction – draw a conclusion that SOMEWHERE, SOMEHOW … there MUST be one or more …REALLY brilliant BIG BOSS ENGINEERS (BBE) who are responsible for the concept, design and creation of this level of brilliance that we see all around us….

    What the hell is hard – or unreasonable – about that…?

    These simplistic notions aimed at winning, again, an argument won to our detriment in the past/present, seems logical but represent logical fallacies.

    For example, it has never been necessary to understand advance mathematics by knowing basic maths. That is more about belief systems. If one knows how to apply models, concepts and theories, complex equations can be solved ignoring ‘your’ basics.

    And there are numbers of the generation X’ers, exposed to computers from birth, to offer as evidence. For them, what you call basics are merely incidentals not prerequisites.

    Bushie you have admitted that there are serious and fundamental flaws in the Bible. Yet when we question its providence and show you how and where there was a malicious ‘engineering’ of those flaws are located you talk about babies and bath water

    So at your root, you have no real and abiding desire to transform anything because it would mean a tearing up of your personal belief systems.

    And in effect you are a proponent of the philosophy of Philip of Macedonia.

In this technical age, it is possible to do “advance calculations” without the basic knowledge, but this is similar to a novice cook following a recipe.     Advanced teachers often introduce deliberate errors as a test of the focus and true knowledge of their top students…..

    All Bushie is asking …is that you agree that anyone who seeks to suggest that the ABC highway or Central Bank Building just ‘happened to materialise out of nowhere’ – without some intelligent engineered inputs would be crazy…..

    Why do you refer to “GOD” as “HIM”? Male cannot exist without Female so who or what is the HER side of your Godhead? Unless you see your ‘imagined’ Devil as the ‘HER’?

    At least the Roman Catholics have struck a compromise by recognizing the Virgin Mary as the Mother of God making, of course, Jesus’ brothers and sisters gods and goddesses in their own right.

    Why not see GOD as androgynous or even transgender and strictly refer to it as “IT”? You might just be on to something if you would only look up and see the LIGHT.

    It is properly located within a more devious paradigm of wickedness as constructed by the Piso family. Indeed, this is the very opposite of what you posit. The only ‘advanced teaching’ within that document is about misleading the world not presenting high-mindedness.

    Before you make your worn out defense, insisting that God could use the Devil for his purposes, we will readily admit that your thinking means that every argument could be won once this ‘god’ remains on your side. What a god!

    We have already admitted that we are crazy, long ago. We hope that would satisfy you.

    Being crazy, we will NEVER admit that your fictitious god exists.

    Those notions are primarily based on misguided belief, not knowing. Your case has never been proven.

    What has been proven beyond a shadow of doubt is that the ‘word’ of this so-called god is a pack of lies, written by the Piso family for their control of the world

    And if this is true your reasonings about god are totally wrong.

    But not even such proofs could damage your misguided faith in the Piso family.

    How could it be that the early church became divided when the Apostles were the second in leadership to Jesus after Jesus was no more on human form living on this eart. i am not belive that Gods influence and his awesome power was not as powerful and Almighty as the Devil.
    After all did Jesus not say he would send the comforter to his Apostles which was manifested on the day of Pentecost

    the conflict within in the church did not start with Constantine i lay my claim to that allegation which started with a conflict between Peter and Paul. a conflict that has and still divides Jews and Christains about the literal interpretation of the law,
    Hence we have Jews who practiced the holy day as a Saturday and Christians who adhere to a Sunday, Yes on those grounds the church is divided.
    Constantie influence was politically motivated Paul influence was to transformed the church into a faith based doctrine picking and choosing some of Jesus teachings in a manner which by all means did formulate a doctrine of inclusiveness

    So why don’t you pose that question to the ‘Know-it-all’ Bushman? After all he, BT, is the adopted son of the BBE and must be in on the secret. One thing for sure Bushie’s BBE’s will never show him is how to make a clitoris (the last thing the Bible god made on Earth).
