One can argue that the state in post independent Barbados has never provided the environment to foster economic independence to the majority black population. Despite this a few black businessmen managed to gain economic independence but the majority of the black population has settled for becoming the employed and never the employers. On the other hand, the minority white population has more employers and entrepreneurs.

Except for a limited apprenticeship period early in the history of Barbados – and in poverty stricken areas like Martins Bay- the minority white population has always had economic independence and social independence. At emancipation, the blacks were given social independence; it was not economic because they were not paid reparations for the time they had spent as slaves. At independence in 1966, the island gained its political independence from Great Britain.

Herein lies the present structure of inequality of Barbados; 99% of the 5% whites have social, political and economic independence and the 95% of the black population believe that they have social and political independence. Of that 95 % less than 5% have economic independence.

There are several reasons for this. The outdated educational system in Barbados does not teach entrepreneurship, poverty among blacks, the prohibitive lending practices of the banks, limited scope of government’s business development schemes and the inability of back businessmen to receive lucrative government contracts. This article will focus on the latter.

Throughout post independent Barbados, wealthy white businessmen have played prominent role to direct the political affairs of the island. In the past they were known as white shadows. Of late, they are no longer in the shadows and their presence now looms larger than life. Even the great Errol Barrow could not shake the hold that the minority whites held after his party achieved independence in 1966. They were the landowners and therefore voters before the backs obtained the right to vote. Did this give them preferential access to the government over blacks? One wonders why this preferential relationship has continued with successive black governments and why the whites do not seek political office.

In the midst of the present economic recession on the island, it is now essential more than ever that the black population achieve economic independence. Each successive administration has offered lucrative business contracts to the white minority and very few to blacks. This has created several white business magnates who by their portfolio now cater to every need on the island, leading to a concentration of power and wealth in their hands.

The present reality is that we have a situation where a fraudulent election has produced a hypocritical government which pretends to have the best interest of the people but their actions to these minority white business men speak otherwise. This small group of business men has attached itself as a parasite to the public purse to create every scheme they can dream up. In essence government ministers are now the puppets of the whites who no longer control from the shadows. Every Minister of the elected government has compromised his position to the entire electorate of Barbados in some was as a result of his involvement with those businessmen.

Both the Prime Minister and the Attorney general have admitted that votes were bought in the 2013 election. Bizzy Williams has admitted that he has given money to finance political campaigns for both parties as well as that he made a donation to the police force. It is no wonder that the police never investigated the Cahill scam. Bizzy Williams, Bjorn Bjerkham, Cow Williams, Mark Maloney and Tempro have all found a way to achieve wealth off the backs of the black people of Barbados long after slavery has ended. They bring no genuine investment but depend on the taxpayers’ money to finance their business schemes.

The cash strapped present administration whose members have already sold themselves to the highest bidder is seeking to divest government’s assets. The Sanitation Service Authority seems to be on the list of things to sell and what has unfolded as the Garbage Crisis in Barbados is quite telling; for months the state refused to take hold of its responsibility to remove garbage and then there was the drama surrounding the infamous tipping fee that was to be paid to Mr. Williams’ disposal company and after that several mysterious garbage trucks landed at the Bridgetown port. Now that the garbage collection system has almost collapsed, in comes Mr. Williams as a knight in shining amour to announce a proposal that he is willing to manage the garbage disposal in Barbados for $60 M a year. This alone is evidence that the SAS was allowed to fail so that the government could take hold of Mr. William’s offer. It is a clear picture of collusion between the Minister Denis Lowe and Mr. Bizzy Williams.

Since Opposition Senator Abrahams was able to comment on Mr. William’s announcement, an offer must be on the table and one must wonder of its contents. No manager of the SSA or the Minister is paid $60M a year. So exactly what does this management entail? Are those green garbage trucks that did not have an owner part of the $60M deal? What will happen to the workers currently employed by government? Does this mean that Mr. Williams, in addition to garbage collection will be responsible for garbage disposal? Will his new $60 M responsibility include decision making on any future waste to energy plants in Barbados for which land has already been vested and finders fees paid?

Mr. Williams is no angel, saint or savior. There are already private waste haulers who could have done this job. Chief among them is Mr. Cherry, private waste haulers who government seems bent n victimizing. Mr. Cherry should now offer government a counter proposal to collect the garbage in Barbados.

One wonders if the outcome of government’s failure to collect garbage is a sign of things to come for the delivery of other public services for which taxpayers’ money is utilized. This brings me to the water crisis that is being experienced in the North of the island. Is the provision of tap water being allowed to fail so that a white businessman can offer to provide running water to those affected residents at let us say $300M a year?

At the end of the day there is a need for the ending of secrecy and beginning of transparency in the way the government awards contracts and other business initiatives, the tendering process must be followed. There is a need for a quota system in the awarding of government contracts. 95% of the island should receive 95 % of the contracts and the 5% who are already wealthy will not suffer if they receive 5% of the contracts. Black business men, community groups or cooperatives must be formed to present counters offers to the government in light of the proposition offered by Mr. Williams as well as for other projects. If Mr. Williams can do it off the taxpayers’ money any black business man can do it too.

If this situation persists unchallenged and unchanged, we are headed to what can only be termed as economic slavery where the government collects taxes just to pass on to this minority. To make this situation even worse, a fraudulent election means that there is no political independence of the electorate. This means that after 50 years of achieving independence, the black population is headed back to the pre emancipation period. We never had economic independence, our political independence was sold for a mess of pottage on the last election day and; social independence (our pride which some of us relinquished by giving up the right to vote for free and fair elections) which is dependent on the former also vanished on the last election day.

Miss Cole you said and i quote

“The present reality is that we have a situation where a fraudulent election has produced a hypocritical government which pretends to have the best interest of the people but their actions to these minority white business men speak otherwise…”

    What is a “fraudulent election”?

Is that one where both sides of the parties seeking election are seen buying votes?

Is there some type of unilateral litmus test here?

“…but their actions to these minority white business men speak otherwise…”

Let us call a spade a spade.

In what way did the previous administration of Owen Seymour Arthur not pander to the whims and fancies of these minority white business men….”

Steupseeeeee…my donkey WILL NOT SIT DOWN AND LET WUNNA GET WAY WITH THIS SORT OF PUP

The problem is the politicians expect their cut or everything mash up!!
They started asking small then escalated their demands as they got bolder.
People on the outside with money and power moved in on the scams so most of Barbados is in foreign ownership … eg CLICO.
Bigger con men than the politicians!!
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

… and no one seems unduly worried about the CLICO con where tens of thousands of Bajans got taken.

The Court is not able since 2008 to bring these criminals to account.

Last time I heard GOB had some company called NLICO that was supposed to solve all the issues.

… and we talk about slavery and ancestors and miss the real elephant in the room …. what is happening today.

It is a measure of how well the brainwashing has been done since the 60’s and 70’s.

People are still stuck in the past looking for ghosts even though the simple facts expose the glaring flaws in the brainwashing!!!

    The problem was never slavery!!!!

It is the CLICO and other scams and the inability of our country to deal with them.

All I need to do to do to demonstrate how absolutely stupid people have become is to start talking about Todds and the waste of arable land and mention it was once owned by the Todd family … which was Quaker … and from whom I am descended.

It is kind of neat that CLICO Todds and me are bound up as one!!!

So, believe it or not children, it is time to deal with reality!!!

I’ve done my bit to try to deprogramme you and get you to forget what the hatred and division our politicians feed you and concentrate on the matter at hand.

It is pointless trying to base anything the politicians and historians have told you on fact when the facts show the opposite to be the case.

I am trying to do you a favour by getting you to forget the crap that you have been fed about the past and focus you on the present … and hopefully future!!

Everybody can benefit in the long run.

Forget the white/black issue … it was never important and it remains unimportant

  6. If we ever manage to get the CLICO issue on the front burner and even look as though it is going to be addressed, all the parasites, conmen and hypocrites will fall into line because they will realise we mean business

Trust me John…no one is missing the real elephants in the room starting with the slaves in parliament who condone and enable the clico/Leroy Parris scams….the Peter Harris CGI Insurance scam, the Maloney and Bjerkham current scams….we talk about and remind everyone about it all the time….about the black government ministers and politicians involved in the demise of their own people’s wealth.

……or Bizzy “give me SSA, 60 million dollars and control of the police force”, and the 5% minority lead by 5 or 6 thieves stealing from the treasury scam, enabled by government ministers…that is the current clear and present danger for the 95% black majority….not slavery and it’s aftermath, but the misinformation and lies currently being spread that would enable the continuation of those thefts and even greater future crimes against the majority.

That’s the big ugly white elephant in the room.

Ya will not win this one John…I can see very clearly what you are trying to do….

But it will not work…and I will tell you why.

……if CLICO led by Parris and David Thompson stole some quaker land or other, first we should ask how the quakers Todd got the land…..

…..but, you can be sure many other government ministers, lawyers, David Simmons etc were involved in whatever scam took place…ya should expose them and call all their names, but bear in mind…that these same well aligned crooks…can also call the names of all the 5% minorities of crooks that they represented and helped steal land, money and property from the black majority too….

…..so everyone’s name will be out there…which I see as a good thing…if ya have title deeds ya can start by calling the names of the lawyers involved.

@ John, ignoring history does not make it disappear. What you seem to conceive of as deprogramming is instead simply a state of denial.

What is happening today is built on a foundation that includes slavery. We will never be able to deal with “CLICO and other scams” until we understand what foundation they are built on; they did not appear out of thin air.

The kleptocracy that is both our political system, both parties, as well as the major players in local capitalism, are erected on a specific historical foundation. You can only understand this mutually supporting class of kleptocrats if you dig deeply into the history of Barbados.

All the great fortunes made in Barbados are the product of theft: beginning with the imperial theft of the land from indigenous people— to the theft of the slave workforce from their homes in Africa— to the theft of their labour under slavery and apprenticeship— to the theft from the British treasury to pay off former slave holders— to the lawyers’ habitual tiefin’ from their clients that BU points out so frequently— to the deepening corruption of our political parties— to PM Thompson and the CLICO affair— to Cahill & DelMastro— and on and on. You can’y really understand where CLICO came from unless you trace the cultural and behavioural threads all the way back for centuries.

It is not like this everywhere; if you look around the world you can find many examples of societies where people’s hopes or riches are based on expectations that are not entirely based on theft: Singapore, Cuba, Denmark Japan etc. In Barbados we fall for the temptation of simply wanting darker complexioned private enterprise to have the chance to steal from the treasury.

We thought fifty years ago that replacing the colonial regime with independence would break the cycle of plunder perpetrated by the British empire. We were sadly mistaken. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, but darker.

How do we change this sorry heritage? Forgetting where it came from won’t help. The religious commandments against these behaviours have proven themselves impotent. We need to try a new approach. We need deep cultural change that envisions prosperity from enterprise that does something more than rip off the government or our neighbours. Cultural change that has our young people dreaming of making the world a better place, not just making a better place for themselves in the world.

Deep cultural change is not easy, nor is it a quick fix… but nothing else ios going to work.

  19. The religious commandments against these behaviours have proven themselves impotent.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I have shown that religious commandments overcame the institution of slavery!!!

It existed long before Barbados was settled.

Quakers did not spend time looking at the foundation of slavery trying to work out a solution.

    They looked at the solution!!

They found themselves caught in a position which went against their beliefs and solved it through their beliefs.

In less than 200 years they outlawed an institution that was thousands of years old!!!

It is written everywhere you look in Barbados!!

If you miss the messages all around us, well I can’t help that!!

But my eyes are firmly fixed on the foundation of the solution to the issues that exist now!!!

I don’t need to understand how they arose, but that won’t stop me sharing my experience with people who think they do.

I do it by simply stating irrefutable facts.

The british no longer thought slavery as profitable as previous centuries and they sure as hell were not going to continue spending their blood money feeding slaves without any returns……huge returns….if their returns had doubled, no amount of pressure could have stopped that scam….. you are again spreading misinformation and lies….

  23. Lets see if I can help WWC with some simple facts.

Ligon spent 2 years in Barbados.

    By 1649 he was gone.

Please check my dates as I am relying on memory!!

I think he published his book in 1657 so that might be what is confusing you!!

George Fox’s ministry begun in England in 1648.

I like to think of Ligon’s work as describing conditions in Barbados before the Quaker movement so I can draw a reference to what happened after it begun.

I found that helped me tremendously in understanding the difference!!

Spend some time looking at the English Civil War and its causes as that is part of the story.

Luckily, I had Captain Hutt to give me a wider view of world history in 2nd form than I would get today!!

  24. You are actually right WWC, there are more slaves in the world today than at any time!!!

When I pointed out that this simply showed that slavery is a natural for mankind I was told I am racist … but it is!!!

So, the question is what are you going to do about it?

  25. Why not try looking at how the Quakers succeeded in outlawing it?

What would you say is the major difference between slavery today and slavery as it existed in the past?

“Slavery on the English Island of Barbados
Richard Ligon, A True & Exact History of the Island of Barbadoes,
    1657, excerpts*

In 1627 the first Englishmen landed on the uninhabited Caribbean island of Barbados. Twenty years later, Richard Ligon, a royalist fleeing political turmoil during the English Revolution of 1647-1649, arrived on the island and purchased half of a functioning sugar plantation with several colleagues. He remained on the island for three years, writing A True & Exact History after his return to
    England.

In separate sections he describes the masters, servants, and slaves of the island (and the few Indians, usually brought from other islands as slaves). In addition to Ligon’s interpretations of the physical and cultural characteristics of the “Negroes,” he offers personal experiences to illustrate the master-slave relationships that had evolved on Barbados.

It has been accounted a strange thing that the Negroes, being more than double the numbers of the Christians that are there, and they accounted a bloody people where they think they have power or advantages; and the more bloody by how much they are more fearful than others: that these should not commit some horrid massacre upon the Christians, thereby to enfranchise [empower] themselves and become Masters of the Island.

As John suggested try very hard to forget the black&white thing here in the Caribbean as it does not exist.

I have always tried to show that we the majority, irrespective of our melanin content are the progeny of two tribes one from northern europe and the other from west africa.

Both tribes are guilty of crimes against humanity in todays world….we cannot prosecute them.

For us the progeny to keep bickering over what happened centuries ago is a nonsense, for us to deny cross fertilisation is a nonsense and for us to refuse to seize the opportunity to create this great society that Peter talks about is the greatest disservice we can do to ourselves.

    @ John

I’m glad that you are enjoying yourself… nothing that write is intended to cause harm.

You underestimate the Society of Friends. The Quaker community in Barbados was the first among the white community to raise their voices against slavery in the 1670s I think. The slaves, of course, had raised objections earlier. Over their 160+ year campaign they spent a lot of effort looking at both the economic and ethical foundation of slavery and they wrote quite eloquently on these matters. There were many among them who went far beyond scripture to show up the evils of slave institutions in an era when many Christians quoted the Bible in slavery’s defence.

The institution they fought started in 1526 with the Portugese making the first trip to the Americas with a cargo of African slaves. The British got into the trade much later and the majority of the trans Atlantic slave trade took place in the 1700s.

You are correct that slavery has existed for millennia, but the only part that the Quakers had an effect on was trans Atlantic slavery perpetrated by Europeans on Africans. Other aspects of slavery persist to this day.

I’m glad your “eyes are firmly fixed on the foundation of the solution to the issues that exist now.” I’m hoping that one day soon you’ll notice that one large cornerstone of the foundation of the solution is doing away with the white supremacy that lingers like a bad odour since the days of slavery.

@ John Captain Hutt was a buffoon who was too irresponsible to even buy the textbook that we used for 3rd form history. He had to borrow one from a boy in the class every History period. History period consisted of Captain Hutt simply reading from that history book; he was probably the least competent teacher I ever had, and that’s saying something.

My history strategy was simple. On the days when we had tests Captain Hutt would flip through the relevant chapter and ask questions; he did no preparation at all— so I just made sure that I loaned him my textbook on test days after I had spent 30 minutes the night before underlining various things in the chapter— without fail Captain Hutt would ask only about what I had underlined and I would ace the test.

This excerpt clearly shows that the project of turning people into animals practiced in the 1600s, is still alive and well in Barbados, blacks are still sold out by the slaves in parliament, religion still used as a form of control., and the minority 5% Bizzy Welfare Rats & Co are desperately trying to get their hands on the police force to keep the practice of evil in place against black people on the island for anither 400 years, it does nio matter to them they will not be there to enjoy it, but their evil descendants will.

Besides these, there is a third reason, which stops all designs [plans] of that kind, and that is, They are fetch’d from several parts of Africa, who speak several languages, and by that means one of them understands not another: For, some of them are fetch’d from Guinny and Binny, some from Cutchew, some from Angola, and some from the River of Gambia. And in some of these places where petty Kingdoms are, they sell their Subjects and such as they take in Battle, whom they make slaves; and some mean men sell their Servants, their Children, and sometimes their Wives; and think all good traffic [acceptable trade] for such commodities as our Merchants send them.

When they are brought to us, the Planters buy them out of the Ship where they find them stark naked and therefore cannot be deceived in any outward infirmity. They choose them as they do Horses in a Market; the strongest, youthfulest, and most beautiful, yield the greatest prices. Thirty pound sterling is a price for the best man Negro; and twenty five, twenty six, or twenty seven pound for a Woman; the Children are at easier rates. . . .

This point of Philosophy was a little too hard for him, and so he stood in a strange muse; which to
put him out of, I bade him reach his axe and put it near to the Compass, and remove it about; and as he did so the Needle turned with it, which put him in the greatest admiration that ever I saw a man, and so quite gave over his questions, and desired [asked] me that he might be made a Christian; for, he thought to be a Christian was to be endued with all those knowledges he wanted. I promised to do my best endeavor; and when I came home, spoke to the Master of the Plantation, and told him that poor Sambo desired much to be a Christian. But his answer was, That the people of that Island were governed by the Laws of England, and by those Laws we could not make a Christian a Slave.

I told him my request was far different from that, for I desired him to make a Slave a Christian. His
answer was, That it was true, there was a great difference in that: But, being once a Christian, he could no….

The very same behaviors are displayed by black bajans today….nothing changed and that is how the slaves in parliament and the 5% are determined to keep it.

“I told him my request was far different from that, for I desired him to make a Slave a Christian. His
answer was, That it was true, there was a great difference in that: But, being once a Christian, he could no…. … ….more account him a Slave and so lose the hold they had of them as Slaves by making them Christians; and by that means should open such a gap as all the Planters in the Island would curse him. So I was struck mute, and poor Sambo kept out of the
Church; as ingenious, as honest, and as good natur’d poor soul, as ever wore black, or eat green. . . .

When any of them die, they dig a grave, and at evening
they bury him, clapping and wringing their hands and making a
doleful sound with their voices. They are a people of a timorous
and fearful disposition, and consequently bloody when they find
advantages [opportunities]. If any of them commit a fault, give
    him present [immediate] punishment, but do not threaten him;
for if you do, it is an even lay, he will go and hang himself to
    avoid the punishment.

What their other opinions are in matter of Religion, I know
not; but certainly they are not altogether of the sect of the
Sadduces1: For, they believe a Resurrection and that they shall
go into their own Country again and have their youth renewed.
And lodging this opinion in their hearts, they make it an
ordinary practice, upon any great fright or threatening of their
    Master, to hang themselves.

But Colonel Walrond, having lost three or four of his best
Negroes this way, and in a very little time, caused one of their
heads to be cut off and set upon a pole a dozen foot high; and
having done that, caused all his Negroes to come forth and
march round about this head and bid them look on it, whether
this were not the head of such an one that hang’d himself.
Which they acknowledging, he then told them, That they were
in a main error in thinking they went into their own Countries
after they were dead; for, this man’s head was here, as they all
were witnesses of; and how was it possible the body could go
without a head. Being convinc’d by this sad yet lively spectacle,
they changed their opinions; and after that, no more hanged
    themselves. . . .

Though there be a mark set upon these people which will
hardly ever be wip’d off, as of their cruelties when they have
advantages and of their fearfulness and falseness; yet no rule so
general but hath his [its] exception: for I believe, and I have
strong motives to cause me to be of that persuasion, that there
are as honest, faithful, and conscionable people amongst them
as amongst those of Europe or any other part of the world.
A hint of this I will give you in a lively example; and it
was in a time when Victuals [food] were scarce, and Plant[a]ins
[similar to bananas] were not then so frequently planted, as to
afford them enough. So that some of the high spirited and
turbulent amongst them began to mutiny and had a plot secretly
to be reveng’d on their Master; and one of two of these were…..”

The behavior of the most slave minded selling out each other for payment or just for the hell ofcause they still think it’s their duty to sell out each other…….still exists..hundreds of years and over 6 to 8 generations later and nothing has changed re a change in mentality. .the slaves in parliament cannot see or recognized this….caus they are greedy and corrupt.

They all still set no value on their own or each other’s lives…of course both Vincent and John will tell ya that ya fix all that damage by forgetting it……two dangerous frauds and satan’s imps…are Vincent and John.

“Firemen that made the fires in the [sugar] furnaces, who were never without store of dry wood by them. These villains were resolved to make [set] fire to such part of the boiling-house, as they were sure would fire the rest and to burn all, and yet seem ignorant of the fact, as a thing done by accident.

But this plot was discovered by some of the others who hated mischief, as much as they lov’d it; and so traduc’d them to their Master, and brought in so many witnesses against them as they were forc’d to confess, what they meant should have been put in act the next night: so giving them condign [appropriate; deserved] punishment, the Master gave order to the overseer that the rest should have a day’s liberty to themselves and their wives to do what they would; and withal to allow them a double proportion of victual for three days, both which they refus’d: which we all wonder’d at, knowing well how much they lov’d their liberties and their meat, having been lately pinch’d of the one and not having overmuch of the other; and therefore being doubtful what their meaning was in this, suspecting some discontent amongst them, sent for three or four of the best of them, and desir’d to know why they refus’d this favor that was offer’d them, but receiv’d such an
answer: as we little expected; for they told us, it was not sullenness, or slighting the gratuity
[reward] their Master bestow’d on them, but they would not accept anything as a recompence for
doing that which became them in their duties to do, nor would they have him think it was hope of
reward that made them to accuse their fellow servants, but an act of Justice which they thought
themselves bound in duty to do, and they thought themselves sufficiently rewarded in the Act.

The substance of this, in such language as they had, they delivered, and poor Sambo was the
Orator; by whose example the others were led both in the discovery of the Plot, and refusal of the
gratuity. And withal they said, that if it pleas’d their Master, at any time, to bestow a voluntary
boon upon them, be it never so slight, they would willingly and thankfully accept it: and this act
might have beseem’d the best Christians, though some of them were denied Christianity when they
    earnestly sought it.

Let others have what opinion they please, yet I am of this belief; that there are to
be found amongst them some who are as morally honest, as Conscionable, as humble, as loving to
their friends, and as loyal to their Masters, as any that live under the Sun; and one reason they have
to be so, is, they set no great value upon their lives:

And this is all I can remember concerning the Negroes, except of their games, which I could never learn because they wanted [lacked] language to teach me”

  44. WW&C

writes a lot on this blog, repeating herself endlessly about black Barbadian leaders who sell out to whites.

What exactly is her vision of the ideal Barbadian society?.What does black economic independence mean in concrete terms? How would a transition to black economic independence be achieved?

No bullsh–t now, WWC.If your people won the next election, and wanted to create the best possible future for Barbadian, give us a bulleted list of the first ten steps they would take to create a new society?

Are we being asked to pay that 2 % on the imported managers salaries?

Chad……the pimp for a pervert like Trump…you who live in the US…a black man among a white racist majority who make absolutely sure they control their wealth for their majority people, contracts, taxbreaks…etc, to benefit their majority people, which you applaud and have no problem with, as a minority living in the US……..,,,..do not seriously expect me to answer your questions now do you….you are a disgraceful nuisance for a black man…that is your answer.

  47. WW&C

is not a serious person. She just talks non-stop about the same idea but provides no specifics.

Her idea is that black people must control the wealth of Barbados. But what does that really mean? How will the “wealth” be acquired from the minority? Will it be purchased at full market prices? At discounted prices? If so, who will decide the discount rate? Will it be confiscated, like property in Zimbabwe?

How will the purchased or seized wealth be allocated to individual black households? Will Heather get a bigger share than me because she is a leader? Because she is a woman?

What about mixed households where some people are black and some people are white? Will there be honorary blacks? What will we do about the East Indians? They didn’t experience slavery, so are they entitled to reparations? If not, will they say we are oppressing them?

  49. WWC

is obsessed with the past, with historical grievance, and with spongy, vacuous slogans (like “knowledge is power”), but has no concrete, practical plans for dealing with the problems of the present or the future in a comprehensive way.

If WWC is clueless about 21st century Barbados, does her friend Heather have concrete, comprehensive plans for dealing with the principal economic, social and political problems of Barbados in 2016?

Let’s ask her. Heather, what does your secret Manifesto say? Or are you still working on it?
