Dear Editor,

Having received no response from Mr. Hoad re his column of June 24th 2016, I must bring this matter to your direct attention, seeking a response to the email that was also sent to you. For ease of reference, Mr. Hoad’s article inferred that the actions of Mr. Mark Maloney of breaking the law were comparable to that of Rosa Parks who took a stance for her civil rights. Since that email, I was informed by others that this was not the first instance that Mr. Hoad had written racially sensitive information. This was also done in an article belittling Trayvon Martin’s death.

This is not an attempt to vilify the Nation Newspaper. For all I know those sentences or their meaning went unnoticed by the person who edited the article, making it an error for the newspaper to have published them. The non- response has therefore been deafening.

Your newspaper plays a pivotal role in shaping the minds of the people in our society. My desire is that the present and future generations will finally be free of the curses of slavery and that they will think positively of themselves. Black lives matter is as relevant in Barbados as it is in the USA. How can our people truly become free if our struggles and race are made fun of in Friday satirical banter? Those not so subtle reference will help keep our minds in chains.

I hope that you will respond to my concerns but more so that as a black person, I will not again have to suffer the indignity of reading a similar article.

    Ms. Cole, what is your agenda for stirring the Pot Continually of Racism

    Do we do not understand that the Ideology of Socialism
    is a Godless conspiracy bent on Divisiveness and Destruction.

    This is not Black versus White, or Left versus Right or Jew versus Palestinian, this is a Good versus Evil, Freedom versus Tyranny and the culprit from the beginning of time has always been the Adversary.

    We have our eyes so clinched where they want us to in stirring up racism that we are forgetting the others that suffer Great Atrocities right now in real time, being slaughtered by the thousands.

    After the WWII genocide, we kept saying “never again”. But since then there has been Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and the Christians Middle Eastern territories. Even Saddam, as horrid as he was, never performed such atrocities.

    These people have lived there with their beliefs since the 5th century or earlier. Now convert to Islam or die. Are they less worthy of our outcries???

    What do you hope to accomplish by this Continual Spirit of Contention, of Breading Hatred in this Island?

    Maybe when we put away Contention, Strife, Vengeance, Hatred, Malice et al, our vision would become clearer!

    A Rose by another name will still smell as sweet in much the same way Slavery to a Slave is STILL SLAVERY!

    The Chiefs in Africa used to war with each other and would sell their Captives European Traders to get them out of the Country so they would not have to fight them again.

    The Europeans engaged in the Slave trade as TRADERS they did not go into Africa and Conquer and capture Slaves.

    Have you heard about modern day Slavery in Africa? What do you call when Muslim Extremist in Africa raid villages and capture children and make them solders to fight their cause?

    Have you read of Boca Harran taking young women from their tribes and selling them as SEX SLAVES…Is that a different kind of Slavery??

    Do the people in Barbados live like this?

    We are All Economic Serfs because of Theft by Taxation that knows no Colour… All ah We!!!

    The only reason I take the time to respond to you and other Racial Spew-age on BU is to show your misleading views.

    A word of Advice, Stop Supporting the Adversary, he does not support his own in the end, and they will be left to Stagger!

    Help me to understand what exactly is your substantive point.

    Like it or not, racism presently exists in this island. Are you suggesting that we should accept racism without openly discussing it? Should we not teach our children what and what not to expect growing up in a racially divided Barbados?

    Are you suggesting that, by discussing racism in Barbados, Ms Cole is spewing divisiveness and destruction?

    In your opinion, does discussing the issue of racism only stirs up “Contention, Strife, Vengeance, Hatred, Malice et al?”

    So, because “The Europeans engaged in the Slave trade as TRADERS they did not go into Africa and Conquer and capture Slaves,” are you suggesting they are NOT GUILTY of aiding and abetting in the perpetration of a crime against humanity?

    Assumed you purchased the SONY 42” Smart TV Set John Doe stole from his neighbour’s house, knowing he stole it. Are you suggesting that since you were not the principal offender you are not guilty of the offense of acquiring the TV with the knowledge it was stolen?

    If I were to follow your logic, you seem to be implying since Chiefs in Africa sold their captives to the European traders, those Chiefs in Africa are responsible for:

    ………. Slave ships being filled to capacity with the captives;
    ………. The traders throwing excess living captives over-board;
    ………. 15% of those captives dying at sea during the middle passage;
    ………… Approximately 4 million African captives dying as a result of slavery;
    ………. White men raping female Africa captives to satisfy their sexual desires;
    ………. The white man treating African captives less than human beings.

    BY THAT STATEMENT ALONE, YOUR CONTRIBUTION SHOULD BE DISMISSED AS PURE SHIITE.

    from one extreme to another ,, the nation newspaper i believe employs mostly blacks and most likely those who review the article contents are black
    question is the writer presenting an argument to be that of calling this predominately black employed newspaper racist
    another point of concern “black lives matter” where and how is the nation newspaper accountable for the lives of the many blacks who are gunned down in the street by white cops .the last time i check there were no blacks being gunned down by white cops in barbados or the carribbean . However across the carribbean their were black men being gunned down by black cops and not a word said,

    As I typed here several times before, Mark Maloney is going to destroy Mark Cummings in High Court. He is going to prove once again that the system is corrupt and Mark Cummings is incompetent. When he does this, once again there will be no consequences for Cummings and his cohorts, nor any other useless civil servant earning his daily bread from the employer of last resort.

    When all the noise is over you will once again be able to put your head down in the grass like nothing ever happened until YOUR day of slaughter comes.

    The Gospel is unto Repentance… We each need to continue examining our thoughts, words and deeds, and call on the Divine Mercy of God’s beloved Son for forgiveness continually, and if we do not in the end we cannot claim His Gift of Mercy and we will be exposed to the whole law which Justice demands.

    Heather might be pursuing a path of calling on all to be equal opportunist racist as i suspect that since her first attenpt on Hoad to villify was unsuccesful.Heather uses a tactic typical of black extremists to call out brothers and sister who they perceived as racist by their actions which in this case would be the nation editoralization of racist content
    However i belive heather method is way off as indicated by the many irrationale comments in the article where she suggest that black lives are tied to Hoads mouthings and the nations should be held to account

    I was between two minds re. responding to this post.

    But I think that there is something that needs to be said here that hasn’t been captured so far except intuitively from ac’s post.

    There was no overarching need for this new Lowdown post! It was largely an ego trip.

    Lowdown strategically ran from defending himself over there and left the spoils for her. Heather therefore won the war hands down in her previous blog. In fact he actually could not defend himself from the case put forward by Heather and took the only sensible way out.

    But, by showing her proclivities towards bullying and stalking and intolerantly demanding that the Nation should not ventilate discussion on the matter of race outside her terms, all that she has succeeded in doing here is show herself up as a big bully.

    This attack was an intemperate attack that does not do her other causes ( exemplary as they are) any good.

    @ac blacklives matter is not only about the killing of black people. While those death are the current highlight of the struggle of the black man’s quest for survival, the movement is also about the way blacks want to live. They live in a system that feeds them a diet of negative stereotyping, incarceration , criminal records, fear, brainwashing and for their dessert guns that are flooded into inner cities so that they can kill ithemselves. It not only the way that they are killed that matters it is also the way they want to live. Your view is too simplistic.

    Guiliani has been dividing NY with race hatred for decades, he recently said that black people should be fearful of black kids, the Daily News did some investigative journalism in the last 24 hours and found that Guiliani’s lawfirm works for corporations who runs the prison system in the US, his firms lobby to run the prisons, hence the more blacks imprisoned, the more money his firms make….as uncovered by a white owned newspaper. ..the newspaper did it’s job, when you see scum, you make sure everyone knows they are scum, you expose them.

    The nation newspaper has to learn what investigative journalism that protects the people, their readers is….as it stands they do not know.

    After 9/11….NYC was having cash flow issues the same beast GuilianI, suggested they take away the casinos in upstate NY from the native americans….for those who do nit know, the native americans, the real americans run the casinos across the country, like Foxwoods etc, very valuable….between him and Trump have been trying to steal these casinos from the native americans..,, the newspapers make sure and report the attempted thefts by these 2 thieves.

    Real newspapers do their jobs….and dont just pander to thieves, criminals and racists.

    Just so you understand that the word Racist- A made up word by Leon Trotsky. In 1927 the word was used to browbeat all dissenters of the communist ideology.

    @ ac the blacklives matter campaign is relevant to Barbados. The police are not shooting down the black youth but there is a steady supply of guns that someone is bringing into the country to disrupt lives in the same way as it is being done in the US, to create a culture of violence to help stereotype and keep our brothers down.

    Black lives are black lives no matter where however i find your method of branding to indict a few here at home obnoxious and hypocritical

    You are bent at destroying the man from writing further in the N.N. You are bent on destroying his reputation and your focus is to destroy others who you deem unlike you!

    In my opinion,Heather’s approach comes out of the frustration of “getting slapped twice”,turn the other cheek approach that folk with your tinkered thinking projects.Unless blacks affirm their rightful position in space and stop the kowtowing to the whims and fancies of ‘whites’so called,there will never be the factor of equality added to the complex equation of the superior/inferior dynamic.

    I know that i am not Donald Trump and I am not seeking the long form baptism certificate either but I wanted to know if you know if HC’s last name is Cole or is it the maiden name.

    Someone made a slip in a former blog on here and another name surfaced and de ole man trying to find out what is the last name, like how a request was made here for an email of a Justice Pamela?

    It is just these anomalies that set off a bell and with that comes clarity.

What gains blacks have achieved during the civil rights era were done solely by MLK acknoweldgement of building bridges absent of burning bridges for which he was ridicule however with the passing of time all the gains have been proven beneficial to all races
    Yes i would agree that WE as a people still have more work to accomplish but so far there have been none with the abilty to take over the baton from where MLK left and now what is left are a race of people scattered not unified and in want of good leadership and leaders to build more bridges

    But I know of plenty Bajans Prof of Medicine and other top subjects at the very best Unis like Oxford/ Cambridge/ Uof T, UBC and many more—including more than U at MIT. Told yah already that one of the 3Houses Roaches worked with Von Braun at NASA!

    The ac consortium has more than one person, but it seems as if BU has become infested with bloggers who have several monikers – one man consortiums. 🙂

    The cut and paste artists very often display not a single original thought. Google one of their sentences and you can find the whole post…

    Trying to hold on and not reply to anything they post. They might get tired cutting and pasting and move elsewhere.
