It seems our own Caswell Franklyn who heads Unity Workers Union has released the cat amongst the pigeons. Was there a plan to send home a large number of temporary government workers which was foiled when Caswell went public recently? Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler has been forced to deny there was such a plan. Maloney and Clarke from the NUPW have also denied that they were privy to any plan. Caswell has rebutted that after the initial plan was exposed the contingency plan seems to be the orderly release of temporary workers when their contracts expire.

During the just concluded general election campaign a key message from the Democratic Labour Party platform was that government jobs will be protected.

Who is lying? You be the judge.

    Barbados has really gone mad when ONE LETTER of dismissal to a named individual published by one Caswell can be seen as evidence that there was a scheme to send home SIX THOUSAND workers . Well ! Well !

    The 6,000 was the figure quoted by Minister Sinckler not me. My intervention forced them to change plans.

    The bottomline is that the government cannot afford to finance public sector wages for much longer.It makes sense to come clean with the public and stop the silly games.

    The DLP, The DLP, The DLP man good god. Now i gine imagine the DLP gine say well these were not workers, they were persons of temporary employ in govt or some other junk like that. The DLP set up it self in saying big and bold on the platform “WE ARE NOT SENDING HOME GOV’T WORKERS !!!” Chris Sinckler ain’t differentiate between types of workers and the DLP yardfouls and potstarvers on this blog want to defend this now. I would laugh but it ain’t funny anymore, the DLP is a smoke and mirrors party!!!!!. The next thing i gine hear from Chris Sinckler mout might be “um ah we ain’t implementing an IMF program per se but it was a program we were thinking off all along just de IMF told us to implement it with haste” HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

    The mitigated gall that the ‘suspect at large” caswell frankly having the nerve to publicly state that his intervention stop a socalled decision by govt is so funny that it does not even warrant a punishment………laughter is enough……LOL………………

    Caswell is one of those wrong and strong liars from school days. You would prove the bastard wrong or catch him in a blatant lie he would be silent for a minute but as soon as you turn your back he resumes broadcasting the lie. Caswell is Elombe Mottley’s closet rival for the sobriquet of “Barbados’ most sucessful failure.”

    Among the recommendations for the Romney administration:
    • Corporate-style training seminars were planned for appointees and nominees before the inauguration to teach management skills.
    • A plan to restructure White House operations to suit Romney’s corporate management style, with clear deliverables.
    • Detailed flow charts delineating how information and decisions were disseminated through the administration to achieve “unity.”
    •Plans to evaluate Cabinet secretaries’s performance by “systematically assessing the efforts of their departments in contributing to [Romney’s] priorities and objectives, perhaps by a newly created ”deputy chief of staff for Cabinet oversight.”

    And after lunch, there would have been trust falls.

    But none of it is going to happen now because Romney didn’t come through on his end of the bargain. In order to exact these changes, you need to win the election. Instead, Romney went on to become an executive at his son’s company ……….

    No doubt similar plans, but with a Bajan flavor, were in the making by the Barbados Labour Party. Poor things. That is why the BLP supporters are so bitter.

    Not games they running for their lives. All this Fraud is running them up a grease pole. More will fall when all the workers go home , so they may vote and now after the vote they look to tell some part of a truth?
    They knew all this before elections , Why ,, For We knew it , Just keep track BU and add up all the work related to land none of them own .
    More will loose work .It started a long time ago , and you all now seeing. UDC. NHC, COW, TEMPS ,TEACHER NEXT?
    To too two 2 bad you have to wait till it happens to see it . Better get you funds out the bank , dont risk your money for 1.5 percent.

    I agree with most of what you say – including the impending implosion of jobs in the public and private sector – BUT think you are going overboard with “Better get you funds out the bank” Do not know about BNB/Republic, but if your funds are in BNS, RBC or CIBC FCIB they are with three of the safest well capitalized banks in the world.     THAT’S A STUPID LIE. they get a letter of authorisation stating the time their service starts and end.Temporary workers, when their time has ended goes home until they are called again. they DO NOT GET LETTERS . what has been posted here is quite unusual…only the DLP interferes whith public servants salaries by way of reductions. and send workers home. .

    As an observer from the Great White North, I am scratching my head to understand something I read in the Nation today; and am hoping you can explain.

    Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival (Caribana) attracts 1 million visitors to Toronto. My understanding that government (Toronto) support for this event is about $250,000.00 – footed by a population of about 3,500,000 people in the Toronto area.

    I understand the importance of Crop Over to Barbadians; BUT my question is “With government entities sending part-time workers home, how can it approve the $250,000.00 Sanitation Service Authority sponsorship of “sweetest summer festival”?

    While Government is currently sending home workers (I am told that four went home from Customs last week) they have created a contact post for Dennis Holder, their losing candidate in St. Joseph. He is now the Consultant/Advisor on Deviance and School-based Youth at Risk. A euphemism for jobs for the boys. As far as I am aware, they only have to take care of Benn and Hutson, and all will be well at George Street.

    Caswell Franklyn@ when they hire is it not based on demand of people to service , if So then those who know the Math better then We or I then should know the ratio of drop of people to service and the down look on people passing .Do each represent 500 0r, a 1000 or more per person?What may the drop be? 4 went home?
