  5. There are times when the use of Bajan ” vernacular ” is required,

It cold as wrasse whole in Toronto.

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for Toronto late Thursday morning, noting that temperatures are expected to “fall rapidly” to between -20 C to -25 C by nightfall.

The 10-day and counting “cold snap” is expected to last through Saturday. With wind chill taken into account, including winds that could reach up to 50 km/h, the temperatures could feel closer to -35 C or -40 C at times.

  6. Soon all the animals in Africa will disappear to sate the Chinese appetite for “traditional” medicines. We are witnessing the African equivalent of the Buffalo slaughter in the US in the 19th century, for Africa it’s all its animals.

I was doing a bit of reading on this matter, the Canadian Merchant ship that was torpedoed in Carlisle Bay in 1942 was named after him, seems not to have a sterling reputation among the local Mi’kmaq among others he offered a bounty on their scalps.

  25. President liar

” In a recording of a fundraising speech obtained by The Washington Post, Mr. Trump boasts that he made up facts about the trade relationship between Canada and the U.S. when the two world leaders spoke. “Trudeau came to see me. He’s a good guy, Justin. He said, ‘No, no, we have no trade deficit with you, we have none. Donald, please,’” Mr. Trump said, according to the Washington Post report. “So, he’s proud. I said, ‘Wrong, Justin, you do.’ I didn’t even know. … I had no idea.”

The Office of the United States Trade Representative says the U.S. had a $12.5-billion trade surplus with Canada in 2016.

It shows how these people are think naturally as it relates to immigrants. And we hang on to the Privy Council.

  31. @ David,

Immigrants were needed to do the jobs white people didn’t want to do.

    nuff said!

I came here to reply to you but I am distracted by Glennis. I am listening on You Tube while blogging.

Going to one of her live performances is on my bucket list. lol

  32. @Hants

The same can be said about the offshore sector. There was a time the developed North required tax havens/shelters to manage money. The way how the world wants to do business has changed and our region will be the loser.

Use the credit card and take in a show!

  33. @ David,

Barbados needs to become more ” diversified ” and self reliant. Too much of the economy depends on Tax haven and Tourism.

Barbados could become “food secure” and invest heavily in producing food.

Solar energy could be continuously developed to be the major source of electricity.

Barbados has enough brainiacs to create and execute a plan to make Barbados a prosperous country.

However greed laziness wuflessness and a lack of leadership seems to be the “obstacle”.

I am hoping that this time MIA and the BLP will surprise us with a radical new economic plan of action.

  34. Isn’t that easier said than done? Bold initiatives and ideas are required. One would have expected given the heavy investment in education through the years that we should have been able to establish an economy to sustain a competitive position in the global market.

@David….read Hants…”greed laziness wuflessness and a lack of leadership seems to be the “obstacle”” The education crutch only pertains to certain professions. There is no replacement for passion, desire, hard work and honesty. Things do not ‘manage themselves’. All this lax management of the SOE’s, where they can provide reports ‘if and when they feel like’, no accountability.

  36. In light of all the issues that are coming to the fore in Bim this church would be a welcome addition to the local denominations.
