The blogmaster is pleased to hear more urgent discussions taking place about agreeing to protocols and logistics to have face to face classes resume between stakeholders. From anecdotal chatter the majority of parents seem supportive of the effort to restart. The one group offering some resistance seems to be the teacher’s unions.

A word to the teachers. This is a risk reward kind of situation. This is a cost benefit kind of situation. There will be a price to pay if the current way of teaching our children continues. There will be a social cost. If the class size is to large, split is and teach each group on alternate days BUT do some rh thing. The virus from all accounts will be with us for the foreseeable future, let us agree (without the long talk) how the physical plant will be changed to mitigate the risks at play.

Time to get on with it!

    My two cent’s worth.
    I think the significant increase in deaths can be adequately explained by invoking one of the best known attributes of the Omicron variant – Its very high transmittability. There are /were probably 4 times the number of actual infected people during the Omicron upsurge as were infected by the Delta variant. Thus we might expect that there might be 4 times more deaths in this phase as compared with last year-end at the height of the Delta phase.

    It would also be expected that such deaths would tend to be concentrated in the over 70’s cohort of the Covid-19 infected population.

    The below graph, if it prints, shows the rate at which deaths increased during the current Omicron phase.

    God is not being removed from schools, Chief Education Officer Dr Ramona Archer-Bradshaw made clear on Thursday in response to claims levelled by The Spiritually Aware Group in a statement.

    The group, took issue with a circular issued by the Ministry of Education on February 15 which states:

    “…There should be no general assembly of students at any time in the face-to-face modality. For example, there should be no whole – school prayers, year group prayers or house prayers. Where possible, students should be allowed to engage in “mindfulness sessions” in their classrooms while following the COVID-19 protocols…”

    People don’t want to admit it but old people already with one foot and in many cases both feet in the grave for a long time died with the COVID virus but not from it.

    A family member in their 80s with every NCD from advanced dementia to arthritis was barely hanging on for the last few years is counted in the COVID death statistics.

    The Public Health Officials have purposely inflated the COVID numbers to justify the draconian measures they took so they don’t incur the wrath of the Bajans.

    Next they will jab the under 11s to cover their backside for closing schools for 2 years and try to blame the ones who die from vaccine caused myocarditis on MIS-C or hidden Long-COVID after effects.

    The ordinary people need to believe they must be able to ask these scientists and doctors questions and they must be able to give straightforward answers and the data behind their answers they are given. Not just I have the degree so you must put into your body whatever I tell you and do what I say or you will die.

    You asked a good preliminary question about why more elderly are supposedly dying.from omicron. A better second question would be, What are the excess deaths compared to prior years in the elderly population and other demographics and the causes gathered from death certificates?

    You may recall the interplay with Bush Tea regarding who gets to be considered ‘vulnerable’ and therefore needs protection. It is disappointing after two years there is still wide public distrust about a matter that should be absolute – isn’t this what science is meant to do, demystify?

    What is the difference between dying in say the UK and dying in Barbados from or with COVID?

    People in both the UK and Barbados see nothing exceptional in dying with or from COVID.

    How many instances have you seen of individuals raising hell about a family member’s death from or with COVID without being “cancelled”?

    The problem is we allowed public health officials and politicians to overstep their boundaries, dictate what we can and cannot do with our bodies and peddle one size fit all solutions that only served the decision makers self-serving goals. You will notice, they changed the rules or made exceptions whenever it suited their purposes to hold their functions or to cover up their mistakes.

    They should only have been giving simple, clear recommendation and warnings such as if you are sick stay home, monitor your blood oxygen levels for drops and encourage persons with the at risk NCDs like asthma and obesity to visit their doctor at the onset of symptoms since deterioration of persons in that group can happen quickly if they are unable to monitor their blood oxygen levels.

    John it isnt so bad up here in canada , sure the police forces have come together and blocked off the whole down town restricting movement to canadian citizens unless you have ID , can prove you havent given money or aid to truckers, or have a legitimate reason for moving freely about your home town where you pay crazy taxes . Or you can just old school it and wear a star of David on your sleeve. Pathetic all because trudeau wanted to smear canadians who didnt think like his ilk

    What has obfuscated this issue of old people dying from covid is the inability to establish the with/from. It is a lack of analytics around this issue muddying the issue. From a medical standpoint can this be addressed or is it complicated.

    Would you not think that if a TRUE science-based approach was being used, they would TAKE ALL STEPS to get detailed info such as ACTUAL CAUSE OF DEATH, ACTUAL benefits of cheap medicines, ACTUAL impact of early treatment etc?
    Instead, telling people to stay home until it gets bad enough to need hospital….
    Then…
    No autopsies…
    No information…
    Just take our words for it that these people died ‘OF covid’
    WTH!!

    A SIMPLE study of what SCIENCE REALLY IS will show these charlatans up as the scamps there clearly are.

    This was CLEARLY a major scam to sell MRNA technologies, in which they had invested heavily, and in need of a firm market….

    it is actually not complicated.
    The Registry has already registered the deaths, and the ages and genders of those people who died in each month in 2018, 2019 and 2020, and 2021
    A group of BCC or UWI students and their teachers can for an academic project review the data , and tell us what is the number of excess deaths in each age group for each month starting March 2020 and continuing to the present. When this is done we may discover that more people actually died of covid and covid related deaths. or fewer.

    But as we know Covid has not only about deaths. It has also been about illnesses and the human, pharmaceutical and equipment capacity to deliver care to the sick.

    If any of us caught Covid and became really sick we would want medical staff, pharmaceuticals, and quipment to be available to look after us.

    It is about the level of response to COVID. It was like we saw some termites in our wood house and decided to fumigate our whole house because our next door neighbor fumigated their whole house last week instead of first examining our own house to determine the extent of the damage.

    Did the level of response suit the disease and the only way to truly determine that is for the statistical department to gather comprehensive statistics on all related metrics such as deaths, hospitalizations, poverty numbers, suicides, abuse, crime, student grades, etc. on a constant ongoing basis and present for everyone to see.

    To me, the fallout from COVID measures was worse than COVID. How many patients were not treated or diagnosed because they put all the resources into a failed test and isolated everyone that test positive strategy whether they have symptoms or not. Isolating someone that is not sick has never been done in our entire history.

    That is why we need the authorities to publish statistics in a proper manner to understand if the medicine was worse than the disease and I contend they know the medicine was worse than the disease and are now trying to cover it up by hiding the statistics and gradually rolling back the harsh measures.

    Proper classification determines if we are making the best use of limited resources to have the most impact on overall health and deaths in the population. It is a failure if we pour all the resources into COVID to reduce COVID deaths by a small number but sudden deaths due to stroke or suicide increase by a larger number.

    For them to classify it as a COVID death, the doctor should have to properly determine COVID was indeed the primary cause of death. Not that the person died and they did a PCR test that comes back positive so count it as A COVID death.

    I had an elderly family member die. They had COVID but they also had much worse diseases that had them at death’s door. They should not have been counted as a COVID statistic but they were.

    How many more people in our death statistics were so close to death’s door that catching a simple COLD would have put the final nail in their coffin?

    There is also the spiritual answer to that question….
    “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces much higher than human BBs…” Perhaps the ‘powers that be’ who currently run things are able to exert their WICKED influence WAY BEYOND our imagination….
    LOL …COVID is not the sole indicator of this influence …is it?

    World leaders have to sound cleverer than they really are, which I’m sure you will appreciate, and they got to act like they know what they are doing. If there was no lockdown or vaccines would deaths have been 10 or 100 times more would infections have been 100 or 1000 times more. You cannot chose national policies based on trollocs views about Ivermectin or conspiracy theorists rants or anti-vaxers populism or bible nuts interpretation of book of revelations. Even Johnson the Clown had to act grown up and pretend he wasn’t partying.

    No point performing post mortems on 7,000+ people who have been dead, dead, dead for up to 2 years. In any event the cause of death has already been determined and written written on the death certificates by your colleagues, as you have done in your time as has been done for many generations. Determining the numbers of excess deaths [NOT the cause of death] can easily be determined by university students guided by their teachers once they have the opportunity to interrogate the death certificates. You may know more medicine than I do, but you will never ever have the research skills that I have honed over many, many decades.
