USING/APPLYING PRINCIPLES: THE SECOND RUNG OF THE LADDER OF FAITH.
The story below is very instructive. There was a leader, a Roman centurion, who explained to Christ that he being a man in authority knew what is was to command and how that works and he asks Christ to heal his servant. At the same time he admits he was not worthy for this Holy Man to enter into his home. Christ explained to those that followed, that here was a man who knew a principle of authority and applied it to the circumstance and authority of Christ. Thus, knowing a true principle and applying it in a different circumstance caused Christ to exclaim, “When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel”.
5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

Since God kept His promise to judge the world before, we can be confident that He will also keep His promise to judge it again.
Fortunately, God is long-suffering, and provides us with adequate opportunities to behave responsibly. When the judgement comes, we will have no excuses if we chose to live irresponsibly.
Jesus said that one of His missions was to destroy the works of satan. He spent much of His ministry casting out evil spirits from people. People who embrace irresponsible behaviour can automatically invite such spirits to reside within them.
The responsible among us should direct people towards the light. The righteous tend to agitate the evil spirits within those who are driven to direct people towards the darkness.

The Bible is filled with stories of people, and many famous Bible teachers have employed the Biographical method to teach sections in the Bible like Hebrews 11, or Mathew 1, or Romans 16, or Kings, Chronicles and Samuel. or on some of the main characters like Moses, or Paul etc.
We have presented a simple teaching on the man ENOCH.
Instead of enjoying or discussing the issues, some go on at a tangent, or seeks to teach the teacher or just blapheme.

There are many stories that predate Jesus but have striking parallels. I have read about Greek mythological “gods” whose characteristics and way of life were similar to that of Jesus, but their existence predated Him.

I tend to follow your trend of thought. It is striking that many of the stories in the Bible are replicated in the Mythologies of several other previous and current civilisations. Which came first is hard to determine.

If you are truly taken aback by the push back then good sir you should have had your teacher start off your course with a historical perspective on the trials and tribulations caused by and to those advocating the word of God….just to get some perspective that this ‘angst’ is milder than the mildest!

The theory in that video claims people escaping Egypt in the Exodus split off from the Israelites and ended up in Mycenae, Greece where they left evidence in their burials.
They brought with them Egyptian gold and swords and left on their tombstones images which are suggestive of the parting of the Red Sea.
The suggestion seems to be that Greek civilization may have its origins in the Exodus.

The derivation of Sunday is irrelevant to Christians. Is the first day of the week the same in other languages? Do the names include sun? Christians do not worship saints. The halos in pictures of saints are of no significance to Christians. The pictures represent the interpretations of the painters/artists not the practioners of the christian religion. Well recently after thirty years of teaching on “planting and sowing” in return for Gods blessing he confessed to teaching a false doctrine
When asked what was his motivation for doing so
He simply replied he was trying to please those in the ministry
Only God knows how many false doctrines Hinn has been preaching over the years to itchy ears

Excellent Mr Blogmaster….Re “Intend to pull the postings of Jeff under one blog and update BU library.”.
We take these things for granted but the Dean’s articles and as importantly the readers relevant comment/queries and his explanations/clarifications are an excellent body of teaching I would expect.
Maybe the Dean now Justice Cumberbatch may feel inclined to get a publisher to give new life to his many years of legal columns (and comments/explanations)…that real life work on the moorings of a Justice of Appeal should be a must read for any person seeking an education of legal issues….Not so!
And to the Class teacher…not to belabor a point BUT the reference to causing “..division, death, war and more for centuries” was to the subject of the BIBLE generally not specifically the of this blog!
And surely I did not suggest that “mUST BU ONLY BE ABOUT POLITICS?”.
Religion like politics is a divisive, much argued (debated) subject I welcome your work going forward and I also welcome the ripostes from Miller, Pacha and hopefully the inputs of Phillips based on his ‘Brothers Kept Apart’ text. I have one on my bookshelf whuch I have not properly read in full. I should do that!
I doubt that anything posted under this space will change any minds but at least it will generate a review of the different faiths and reawaken debate on agnostics or atheists and all others.
And oh BTW…wouldn’t you consider it a non sequitur about dying for a charlatan politician as related to doing for one’s faith… Are you equating a pol to a God! 🙃…. Some like to think of themselves like that but none are…no comparison …

As an Undergraduate at University I learned that there are over 80 different Religions that are practised by Man to include Buddhism and Hinduism.
What they all have in common are the beliefs that their God or Diety is the only true and living representation of Man”s salvation even if it means destroying and wiping out non-believers.
Black men and black women need to wakeup and realise that our African Ancestors had their own faiths and beliefs before being plucked and kidnapped from Africa.
Those of us who have been in EMOTIONAL chains and MENTAL bondage should question ourselves why is it the approximately 66 approved Books in the Bible NONE ARE WRITTEN BY A BLACK MAN OR WOMAN?
