FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OPEN LETTER INVITES TRUMP TO CHANGE HIS VIEWS ON IMMIGRATION.

Ireland’s Emigration Museum offers the US President the opportunity to see immigration from a different angle.

President Donald Trump’s stance on immigration is well documented and debated, so when EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum heard about the POTUS visiting Irish shores, they felt a responsibility to extend an invitation. Through a full page open letter, they asked him to visit and reframe his views on immigration.

Over 10 million people emigrated from Ireland over the centuries – in many cases escaping famine, political unrest and civil war, others seeking opportunity and change. They settled all over the world as immigrants, and EPIC documents the stories of the impact they’ve had.

“EPIC represents an alternative voice on the global movement of people.  We have documented the positive impact that Irish emigration has had on the world, and we think it’s time the conversation on emigration changed.  This invitation goes out to President Trump with sincerity – come experience a different viewpoint on immigration and it might just change your perspective” says Mervyn Greene, Managing and Museum Director of EPIC.

The letter asks the President to consider his family’s own emigration story from Germany, and points out a number of examples of how Ireland’s emigrant stories have impacted his own life.

An excerpt from the letter:

“Allow us to share a few of our stories that might hit close to home for you. Irish emigrants played a huge part in shaping the Manhattan skyline. Descendants of Irish emigrants have held your very position in the Oval Office. The White House itself was designed by James Hoban, an Irish architect. Your Vice President Mike Pence is the grandson of an Irish emigrant who escaped war and poverty in 1923. You might even come across descendants of his great-grandmother, who hailed from Doonbeg.“

EPIC’s open letter was placed in the Clare Champion Newspaper, the biggest newspaper in County Clare, where President Trump will be staying at his family-owned golf club in Doonbeg during his visit to Ireland.  As a final enticement to the President, the letter suggests his visit would take less time than a round of golf.

EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum is a state-of-the-art interactive experience located in the beautiful vaults of the 1820 Custom House Quarter building in Dublin’s Docklands, the original departure point for so many of Ireland’s emigrants. Featuring personal stories of love, triumph, adventure and adversity, it highlights and celebrates the positive impact and influence of Irish emigrants around the world.  https://epicchq.com/

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP

Dear President Trump,

We’d like to extend an invitation to visit EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum during your upcoming visit.

We know your itinerary isn’t as flexible as most, but hear us out.

Your stance on immigration is well documented. As one of the world’s only museums dedicated to the emigrant experience, we’d like to offer a different point of view. At EPIC, the positive impact emigrants have had on the world is told through an Irish lens; it’s a narrative we’re proud to share with countless other countries.

Allow us to share a few of our stories that might hit close to home for you. You might even come across descendants of his great- grandmother, who hailed from Doonbeg.

Your own family story has been shaped by emigration, when your grandfather Friedrich left Germany at age 16 to pursue opportunity in a new land. And the First Lady is another example of how a recent immigrant has made the most of a new opportunity to one day become FLOTUS. Needless to say, our invitation is open to Melania as well.

What we’re saying is that everyone has a connection to the story of emigration, and people often change their perspective once they see it told from many angles, both past and present.

We know you’ll have a busy presidential itinerary, but we promise you an enlightening experience in less time than it takes to play a round of golf.

Sincerely,

Mervyn Greene,

Managing Director,

EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum

Freedom wants to know if Ireland is so in love with Mass Migration, then invite all of the Middle Eastern People to come to Ireland even sending Boats to pick them up. Do not tell another Sovereign Nation what to do, LEAD BY EXAMPLE and while you are at it, make Ireland Sharia Compliant.

What is it called when other people have to pay Muslims money? Jizya/tax

Does Islam have a historical practice of taxing non-believers?

Yes, it was Jizya/tax on non-Muslim was compulsory in all schools of law of Islamic jurisprudence.

  3. Just posted a comment about the racist depictions of black people in that cartoon and it disappeared…..

  4. “Muslims into their country …’ Should read ..into their countries.

  5. Trump is not against immigration. What Trump wants to do, is to relook the immigration process. He proposes to replace the present model by one based on merit. Any advanced country in this day and age, would be stupid if it didn’t do so. Canada has a merit based system and a host of other countries also have it. In the future, robotics are going to replace much of the unskilled labor used in agriculture and other industries. The type of migrants required to spur development would be those who are trained in the sciences and linguistics and who have advanced degrees. This new century is a new ball game. A country has to adapt ;if it doesn’t it is going to lag behind the development curve. It is strictly a case of evolution in action. What was good in the past is not relevant in this new age. Given a choice between settling a person with advanced degrees in the sciences and allowing an immigrant to sponsor all of his relatives no matter how distant the connection, a sensible country opts for the trained one instead.
As for the Irish prime minister hollering and keeping a lot of noise, Ireland is now faced with the problem of what to do with. the Muslims who fought with Isis. A country would be lacking in foresight to allow in migrants whose mores are diametrically opposite to its own. Look at the problems Muslims cause when they are a minority in a country (a fifth column if ever there was one).Any responsible leader would have to be crazy to allow more Muslims into their country. A leader has to look one or two-hundred years down the road and examine the impact of Muslim immigration and the potential for civil wars.
The list of Muslim countries scheduled for the imposition of restrictions on migration to the USA was drawn up by Obama: Trump enacted what Obama had selected and is called a racist. Obama allowed into the USA more Muslims than Christians and no one was hollering. Just like the Pope who went to Greece and selected four families for refugee status and resettlement: all were Muslim. When asked where the Christians where he claimed that there wasn’t enough time and that UNHCR had prepared the slate of migrants.Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, the Jordanian prince who was the head of the UNHCR at the time was hollering about Europe discriminatory actions towards the Muslim migrants. He forgot to mention that the rich Muslim Arab countries wouldn’t take them. The Muslim countries (UAE and Saudi Arabia have not signed the UN refugee treaty).Freedom Crier is correct, the UN or for that matter other countries do not have the right to say what a country should do regarding migration. If there were mass migration to China or North Korea ( just citing the latter as an extreme example), the boats would be sunk and that would be the end of that. One would hear some outcry and China wouldn’t be bothered one hoot. The day is coming when the UN refugee treaty is going to torn up. It was drawn up immediately after the second world war. It was meant for refugees whose mores were alike and is not relevant to today.

  6. @Dr.Lucas

You appreciate that the divide has a lot to do with how does the USA deal with asylum seekers/political refugees especially coming from Muslim and shithole countries?
    https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/donald-trump-and-jared-kushners-empty-promise-of-immigration-reform

  7. @Dr.Lucas

To put meat on the above comment:

The plan is notable for what it leaves out as well, such as how to address undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children who have been given a temporary reprieve by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

  8. I look at this problem a different way and the impact on the black community
What i do observe is that the the impact on the black community results from a negative outflow of economic problems bearing down on jobs which are given to these mostly white or half brown immigrants regardless if whether they have the skills and even more frightening cannot speak the english language
The blacks in america are once again being pushed into the back of the economic bus while emigrants of ethic races become the drivers
I might not agree with the way Trump is handling the immigration problems
However it bodes well enough to say that an underlying tow of mass immigration does not bodes well for the American black
The level playing field is being eroded when black chances of losing jobs is given first preference to immigrants of different ethic groups

  9. what rubbish, it would be interesting to see what would happen if a load of protestants tried to force there way into a catholic area of Belfast…oh yea they would be kilt. The irish have always had a history of legal immigration especially from cobh to botany bay. Attention seeking

  10. @lawson

    No surprise here from you.

  11. State Department now requires U.S. visa applicants to share social media accounts

    June 1, 2019 / 2:22 PM / AP

The State Department is now requiring nearly all applicants for U.S. visas to submit their social media usernames, previous email addresses and phone numbers. It’s a vast expansion of the Trump administration’s enhanced screening of potential immigrants and visitors.

In a move that’s just taken effect after approval of the revised application forms, the department says it has updated its immigrant and nonimmigrant visa forms to request the additional information, including “social media identifiers,” from almost all U.S. applicants.

The change, which was proposed in March 2018, is expected to affect about 15 million foreigners who apply for visas to enter the United States each year.
    Trending News

Social media, email and phone number histories had only been sought in the past from applicants who were identified for extra scrutiny, such as people who’d traveled to areas controlled by terrorist organizations. An estimated 65,000 applicants per year had fallen into that category.

The department says collecting the additional information from more applicants “will strengthen our process for vetting these applicants and confirming their identity.”

The new rules apply to virtually all applicants for immigrant and nonimmigrant visas. The department estimated it would affect 710,000 immigrant visa applicants and 14 million nonimmigrant visa applicants, including those who want to come to the U.S. for business or education, according to an initial notice.

The new visa application forms list a number of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube and require the applicant to provide any account names they may have had on them over the previous five years. They also give applicants the option to volunteer information about social media accounts on platforms not listed on the form.

In addition to their social media histories, visa applicants are now asked for five years of previously used telephone numbers, email addresses, international travel and deportation status, as well as whether any family members have been involved in terrorist activities.

Only applicants for certain diplomatic and official visa types are exempted from the requirements.

  12. No surprise from you David, what did your country do with the Haitians , what about the guy from the DR . Oh yeah that’s your country …that’s different. lol

  13. @lawson

You are aware Haitians can visit Barbados under the Caricom arrangement?

  14. @David:
Where did you get that “shithole Country …?”There was no proof that the man said that. There is now some headline stating the Trump called the Duchess of Sussex nasty. Read the article and it is obvious that the man never called her nasty. Some asylum seekers from Muslim countries are very highly trained; albeit those from Somalia leave much to be desired. As regard the undocumented Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program., Obama used his executive powers to give them entitlement. There was some noise then, but no one challenged Obama in the courts to the extent that Trump is being challenged over the matter. As Trump said, he is not for deporting the highly skilled ones. Obama executive order can be undone by an executive order by trump; however every one is questioning his authority to do so.

    @ Mariposa:
In the early parts of the last century, the Jews in America were treated similar to the Blacks(albeit the Jews had money). The Jews realized the importance initially of sports to circumvent their pariah status. They also realized the importance of education. In the late eighties and early nineties there was a move on among black Americans to stop speaking English and use something called (negbonics or ebonics I am not too sure of the spelling) a mode of communication only spoken by them and understood by them. How a minority in an English speaking society could come up with the idea speaks volume on its ability to reason analytically. There was no need to reinvent the wheel. Mimic the Jews was all that was required. Too many Blacks seem more interested in Black on Black violence than on over all advancement of their cause. There was an example a couple of years back of a South Sudanese immigrant: he couldn’t speak English well. He got a job as a packer in a supermarket and worked long hours; went to school got his GED enrolled in a community college got his diploma and started to do well. He was living in a Black neighborhood. He was subjected to derision for his educational achievements and his house was subjected to vandalism leaving him nonplus at the treatment meted out to him a Black by other Blacks. He couldn’t fathom it. Blacks in America should look forward ( I am not saying forget the past; the Jews do not do that, even though they are always hollering about their genocide, conveniently forgetting the numerous genocides perpetrated by themselves in the Old Testament): the going is going to be tough but press ahead in the fields of education especially the sciences where Blacks tend to avoid because of the greater analytical powers needed and the dearth of financial returns obtained.

  15. yes David but you have to prove you can pay for yourself to come in, you want open borders I don’t.

  16. @lawson

Nobody wants to open borders. Humane policymakers want to make sure refugees, children of US residents etc are not excluded under the law.

  17. by us residents do you mean illegal entrants, law breakers

  18. Yes, all those illegal Mexicans rich Texans employ on the farms.

  19. Just trying to make sure we are talking about the same people. some of which when there not working for rich Texans commit crimes eat up resources meant for citizens , okay we both know who we are talking about.
I feel they should enter legally I do not feel it is right people jumping the que should benefit over people in line doing everything the right way.

  20. Dr. Lucas not disputing some of what u said
However blacks have under very trying situations uplift themselves taking notice of many black Americans who have advanced themselves
My thought of concern looks at a change wherby the ethic population would surpass the blacks in america wherby whether or not blacks rise to a higher level of education the leverage of control becomes so enormous by those groups it utimately pushed blacks further down the economic ladder
In some parts of Americs such is already happening

  21. you have lost me is the point that I have to get a new cleaner

  22. Hispanic plus other ethic groups have surpassed Blacks in the US.

    https://statisticalatlas.com/United-States/Race-and-Ethnicity

  23. mariposa you saw that in florida when there was a great influx of Cubans blacks suffered as a result, citizens competing for jobs with illegal entrants should be stopped e verification

  24. @lawson

There is so much hypocrisy which suffocates the immigration debate in the US. The point you failed to grasped is that there is a benefit the underground adds to the US economy- especially in the Southern States- which is ignored.

  25. the southern states had an underground economy (people working for nothing ) back pre 1865 how did that work out for you

  26. I see that I am unable to contribute…

‘Where did you get that “shithole Country …?”There was no proof that the man said that.”

‘Worse than John the twistorian is the negropean.

Folks from the time they mentioned any of the words black/African American/negro you have to abandon their nonsense.. What follows is a collection of stories that emphasizes stereotypes, rumors. tale from the grapevine or urban legend.

When I first came to the US, I could not understand the divide between the Caribbean American and the African American. I have been here for sometime and can now understand this divide.

  27. @lawson

Stick to the point at hand. You may have the last word.

  28. Lawson there is more to this immigrant problem than meets the eye
My observation as to what i am seeing (exempt of what is being said in the media) is defined by politics and economics
Firstly many of these groups do not speak English and many does not take the time to go to school to learn English
Secondly i have observe that in a short period of time politics becomes a factor in their achievement because of a political sway which is allinged to their voting block giving them preferential treatment while blacks continue to claw their way to the top

FROM SERVITUDE AND OPPRESSION TO FREEDOM…

In the late 1800’s the Ottoman Empire, controlled the Region, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan, were not separate as they are now. Our fore fathers land and valuables were stolen and they were made Serfs because they were Christians.

When the Ottoman Empire started to break down, many fled to The Americas in hopes of Freedom and a better way of life. My Father and my husband’s family were the latter generation who were left of this migration, which started back then. They worked very hard and overcame many barriers while adapting to their new environment, often in rural and inhabited territories. They were NEVER GIVEN A FREE PASS OR ENTITLEMENTS as we are seeing under the Past Administration and what Democrats presently are hoping for. So they must be an ulterior motive don’t you think?

Christians were greatly persecuted as they are now from what we are witnessing in the Middle East! Except they are not the ones flooding Europe and the West, they remain at the mercy of Tyranny. They were not welcomed in the US by the Past Administration, ever wonder why?

Think about How the Muslim Brotherhood had Infiltrated the White House????

It Needs to be Understood that… After the Democrats in the Early 60’s-70’s when they started to Pander to Minorities they Realized they could get Wholesale Voting Blocs by Offering Freshness through certain Social Programs. By giving these Entitlements, they buy Allegiance just as they did with people of colour.

As Pertaining to Illegal Immigration…The Democrats Strategy Now is that by Allowing Illegal Immigration; with their Open Borders Policies Under the ‘Pretence that they Care’ while in REALITY their Intent is to Buy the Loyalty of those Entering into the US by Securing Votes from their In- debtors! It Takes Two Hands to Clap. If we have not Awoken to this Skulduggery, it is Unlikely we ever will!!!

I couldn’t be More Passionate about the things I believe to be true because the Spirit of Tyranny Oppressed Both Sides of my Ancestry. One side Fleeing an Oppressive Regime leaving the Middle East, while on the other side of my Ancestors Travelled on Bondage Ships bound for Barbados.

I speak of the Difference between Freedom and Tyranny because I Understand and Know the Difference. I have Awakened to the Understanding of Liberty and Freedom Versus Tyranny & Oppression.

REMEMBERING THE INVISIBLE IRISH IN BARBADOS… LYRICS

All the golden soft silk sand
    That surrounds this pretty island
Must have seemed like prison walls, steely bars

In this playground of the rich
All the yachts and champagne lavished
I still see a lonely child watch the stars

All of all your evil deeds, many still condoned
You sent me far cross the sea to be owned

To Hell or Barbados, To Hell or Barbados
To Hell on Barbados we were sent

It’s a Heaven on this Earth
    A Creator’s work of art
And the sun sets o’er the sea so divine

Then a WHIPLASH LICKS MY HEELS
AND MY SCORCHED SKIN BURST AND PEELS
THOUGH MY PEOPLE WERE NOT MADE FOR THESE BURNING FIELDS

All of all your evil deeds, many still condone
But your crime of slavery goes unknown
Good men like old Wilberforce, they came far too late
Far too late to save us from the fate

Of Hell or Barbados, Oh Hell or Barbados
To Hell or Barbados we went

To Hell or Barbados, To Hell or Barbados
To Hell on Barbados we were sent

Hold on, no no no no no no
Don’t you dare let go of my hand
But they prised us apart, ran a sword through my heart
    Sent us on our way

Hold on, no no no no no no
Don’t you dare let go of my hand
But they prised us apart, ran a sword through my heart
    Sent us on our way

Hold on, no no no no no no
Don’t you dare let go of my hand
But they prised us apart, ran a sword through my heart
    Sent me on my way

To Hell or Barbados, To Hell or Barbados
To Hell on Barbados we went

To Hell or Barbados, To Hell on Barbados
To Hell on Barbados we went

  31. @ David
How do you think other white countries refer to black countries? The other countries don’t say it openly. To tell you the truth, Trump might ( operative word is might) have a point considering the action of black dictators towards their own people. Don’t tell me that the action of black dictators is a legacy of colonialism. Do you really think that after all these years of independence Nigeria should be in the state it is in? Or for that matter Barbados ? At least with Trump you know where you stand and can act accordingly.

    @Mariposa
The new comers eg: Hispanics out number the blacks already. You point is taken.

  32. @ Freedom Crier

You have a point. A lot of Irish Catholics as well Scottish ones were sent to Barbados, after Cromwell and Francis Pym and others crushed the Royalists. The Roundheads showed the Irish no quarter. A DNA profile of most black Barbadian would reveal some Irish or Scottish heritage as well as some Jewish ancestry.

  33. mariposa its all BS look on you tube you will see the same politician saying the exact opposite thing they were saying a few years back .They will say anything to get into power they don’t care about you they care about their family, their income, their future. But here is the problem for you , as david said Hispanics have overtaken you. Your voice will be muffled as the politicians go after that new voting block, the hand up that was there will be extended to a new mass of voters. You and I see it much the same

  34. San Francisco is a shithole

  35. @Dr. Lucas

The intervention was meant to clarify if Trump referred to Haiti as a shithole country.

  36. At the end of the day those who are waving arms and crying for these ethic groups to enter america illegally would be the ones finding themselves kicked further down the economic ladder as their voting power dwindles to a screeching halt in numbers insufficient to overtake the mass wave of ethic immigrants who lives by the rule of self empowerment and a right to control
Blacks would therfore be forced to adapt by way of servitude to all ethic groups
    What a thing

  37. @ Lawson June 2, 2019 8:34 AM
You have a point. The same Pelosi who is against the wall at the border, in 2014 was on record advocating a border wall.

  38. @Dr. Lucas

Your comment must be expanded to include there was majority support for a border way among Americans UNTIL Trump entered politics and brought his brand of immigration rhetoric. Obviously the Democrats flowed with public opinion.

    HAVE WE EVER WONDERED WHY?

DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT EUGENICS IS?
IT IS THE EXTERMINATION OF RACES THE EUGENICISTS FEEL THAT ARE UNFIT TO SURVIVE!!

ABORTION IS GENOCIDE OF THE HUMAN RACE AND THE BLACK RACE IS ESPECIALLY, BEING TARGETED.

Eugenics is still being practiced and in America it was perpetuated by the founder of Planned Parenthood (Murderhood) Margaret Sanger. Eugenics was the racist pseudoscience determined to wipe away all human beings deemed “unfit,”

The Eugenicist of the Century…Agenda 21…Depopulation is the Plan…

Vaccination and Immunization all part of the Ploy and the Vax Boy…

BTW Bill Gates is Following in his Father’s Footsteps who once headed Planned Parenthood (Murder-hood) as a Eugenicist! Now he has Perfected his Art of Cunning!

As they say, “fruit done fall far from tree”. Gates Junior is Eugenics’ like his Papa.

Why do you think Africa and Afro Americans are the Target of Eugenicists like Bill Gates? (The study or practice of attempting to improve the human gene pool by encouraging the reproduction of people) …

Bill And Malinda gates Foundation Sponsoring Contaminated Vaccinations Sterilizing Women Throughout the World, Especially in Africa without them even being aware all in the name of the Communist Socialist Ruse of Population Control. And the Men also are being Sterilized in Third World Countries.

  40. @ David June 2, 2019 8:17 AM
What does the video prove? Mueller had two years to come up with a report. After a year he found that there was no collusion yet he continued with the investigation hoping to get evidence. He submitted a report and now he holds a ten-minute press conference to say he stands by his report on one hand but his feelings are that Trump is guilty. He has shown his true colors. Remember I have posted my thoughts of the man. I find he is a disgrace: a man of low moral turpitude based on the Whitey Bulger affair as well as the 9/11 debacle (he was in charge of the FBI at the time and should have been removed from office for gross incompetence)..

  41. @Dr. Lucas

The answer is simple, there was enough prima facie evidence which merited investigation against the background that Russia attempted to interfere in the US elections. This is the position. Should the deputy AG have fired Mueller? It is all academic.

  42. @ David :
What immigration rhetoric? For saying “hold it a bit ,lets stop immigration from Muslim countries until we figure out what the hell is going on?” The statement is a common sense factual statement: it is not dissembling as practiced by politicians. Only an irresponsible leader would have said otherwise. At the time there were almost monthly bombings by Muslim terrorists ( home grown second generation Muslims): to keep on allowing entrance to more Muslims would have only further compound the situation. Trump will win in 2020.

  43. @Dr. Lucas

The court ruled in the matter of crafting an immigration policy by deselecting Muslim countries.

  44. @ David , June 2, 2019 7:21 AM

“all those illegal Mexicans rich Texans employ on the farms.”

I came across an article which supports your contention. Both Reps and Dems from the border states want cheap labor and so have blocked any meaningful over haul of immigration. Trump came up with immigration plan but his (can’t really say his own party, he was a democrat once) shot it down. after being lobbied by the rich landowners..

  45. @ David June 2, 2019 9:33 AM

They were pissed because he fired Comey: the latter incident was the spur to launch the investigations,

  46. @ David
According to the constitution, immigration is under control of the president. The courts really shouldn’t have any say but a lot of noise was kept by his enemies. Trump is smarter than them: migration from Muslim countries is down. All Trump has to do is to appoint people of similar views in consular positions and he can alter the diversity of immigration. The consular officer hasn’t got to give a reason for turning done an applicant.

  47. @Dr. Lucas

You will concede this is a matter SCOTUS will have to rule.
