There is the oft saying “Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.” The Cahill Energy project, with all its warts, will be known as the project that dispelled the feint notion the Democratic Labour Party is the change agent many hoped for.

Several documents, voice recordings and discussions are a matter of record to support the conclusion that Cahill waste to energy project is a scam to feather the nest of a few in Barbados. Here are a few more documents:

    I don’t know what Barbadians expected in 2007 of the persons who formed the first DLP administration in fourteen years. We gave unbridled power and the keys to the Treasury to a set of people who were mostly broke and who were either unemployed or underemployed, and with no discernible prospects for improving their lot outside of forming the government. Also consider that they could have been back in the same position in five years. They behaved like kids in a candy shop, only that the candy was our money.

    Caswell’s statement may have defined the underlying problem. After year in the wilderness, hungry folk gain keys to the treasury. He could have completed his statement and described the vicious cycle that we are locked into. Kicked them out and hand over the keys to the other hungry group who are now in the desert (waiting their turn).

    Freundel Stuart,QC…Attorney at Law…Donville Inniss successful Businessman, Steve Blacket Radio personality…Etc…All employed,,If, underemployed,, still working. These people were hardly broke, just like members of the former government. If all these people were/are such crooks etc as they are being portrayed, why did the “educated” population hire them as their representatives?. Surely Your perception; biased in the first place, is not the same as the people who support them. How is this difference explained?

    Interesting that 4 of the potential investors including Williams industries all have balance sheets and the where with all to actually execute this project .
    How in gods name did Cahill energy get into the frame ?? A no name shell company with no assets no money and no management structure . the government may as well have given the contract to a roadside coconut water vendor.
    The other big mistake the government made was not allowing Burnside to manage cahil …. Had the done that they wouldn’t be in the mess the are in now
    .
    Burnside would have flushed cahil out in a nano second .

    Someone on here was claiming Bizzy got left out of the deal, no way that happened, this was one of the nastiest scams against the taxpayers contrived by all the players, Bjerkham is Bizzy’s close business partner, Tempro manages Bjerkham’s businesses and the Maloney boys manage Bizzy’s, Cow’s and some of Bjerkham’s businesses….this scam aided by the politicians was beyond evil……Cow-an was the perfect front for them all…..an evil bunch, the politicians will get their comeuppance.

    They couldn’t control the Canadian woman who promised them a major piece of the action just like she promised many others .problem she was all piss and vinegar with nothing to back it up with.
    She failed to deliver and they fell with her.
    Bizzy is waiting in the wings to see what he can salvage from the mess.
    The government ministers were niave to think this scammer with her big dreams of making a killing from the island of Barbados .

    I remember the licks I got last year when I pointed out that there were more players in the whole business than Claire Cowan. The rats have now been flushed out of there holes and been exposed. I feel vindicated.

    Alvin….how can you vindicate yourself….when David and others were on here warning you it was a scam with many players and you vehemently denied that Cahill was a scam, you even had some choice words for me on the issue.

    Don’t you think your DBLP ministers knew who ALL the players were from the very beginning or is it they just push you upfront to deny and defend while telling you nothing and you blindly believe and do as told….in that case, you have a long way to go.

    The players did not care if she had the investors or not, they had their own agends, with or without Cowan, she was the front, the beard…Bjerkham had his investor, billionaire dude from Miami, but he up and died…Cow and Bizzy could always bamboozle some unsuspecting millionaire…remember Burns and Redjet, he lost his shirt and also died…..if Cow-an had gotten an investor, that would just be gravy..lol

    Cahil breached the contract
    By not officially commencing the waste analysis 5 weeks from signing the agreement
    And as far as I’m aware the report is still not issued . Cowan commissioned the start of the study a year ago and as yet it’s not complete. Stantec haven’t been paid in full for the work done.
    The land transfer is not completed.
    Her only viable investor infrastar are no where to be seen
    All but one of her consultants have abandoned her
    All that remains is for the government to declare it officially dead
    I think they are scared of the post mortum.
    By any stretch of the imagination this deal is dead

    LOL…Cahill was a scam about to be perpetrated on Barbados for generations to come. Unfortunately, some thought that all humans can be bought and sold just as in the time of slavery. Let us continue to guard and fight for open and transparent government for our lives depend on it.

    Innocent and unaware Bajans, most not even born yet only got away from being victims of the Cahill scam by the skin of their teeth, because of those who worked diligently and tirelessly to expose the scam, saving the taxpayers many years of misery at the hands of the greedy few, who are all known to everyone on the island.

    The people have to be more vigilant than ever in Barbados, because as has been proven, those leaders in charge are not equipped to look out for the taxpayers and there is no certainty that they would want to, even if capable..

    Well this was so bloody obvious from day one it beggars belief Barbados could be so overpopulated with brass bowls.

    How can a project involving the burning of imported toxic garbage on an atoll promoting itself as a tropical paradise of tourism delight and involving the commitment of a large quantity of its already scarce vital water resources to the cooling of a mini nuclear reactor ever find favour with non-brass-bowl investors and given the quality of the political administration in place?

    What is obvious from documents that a few in Barbados feel the masses are all donkeys devoid of thinking beyond the next fete or sports game. The well meaning oligarch as business capitalist is given the keys to the treasury via poorly agreed on BOLTS and PPA`s.

    Unfortunately, many an oath to serve often well-intentioned becomes compromised for who pays the piper calls his tunes. We owe it to Barbados in the absence of a media of guts to be ever vigilant.

    Exactly David…, none of them, not one of those ministers stand up for the people, they go along to get along and stick with their clique, them, the “political class” againt us, the citizens., no in between, no sense of what they are doing is criminal, with the citizens as the victims.

    Then in the next year, they will be practicing which deceitful smile to use and once again deceive the same electorate, by knocking on their doors, mouth filled with promises and lies…..to repeat, their same actions, without fail and with no intentions to stop.

    That is why am glad they are messing with people who have no qualms of bringing them to their knees. It can only be done by people living outside of Barbados.

    One of the biggest challenges facing Barbados is that of the existence of two worlds, the political class and the people. Often times, maybe always,is the fact there exist separate worlds. This state is not unique to Barbados.

    Not unique, but quite destructive. That is not what politicians say when campaigning and pimping for votes, they claim more solidarity than freedom fighters, they know nothing else but helping the “little man”…right up until the day after they are elected, then suddenly they are the “political class” with new found titles, staus and rich friends….who is the little man again, what freedom fighting what.

    Politicians should not be allowed within 1000 yards of other people.

    @Ac a greed. However the DLP came to power on a ticket to figjt poor governance and corruption The fightb was carried by Dr Denis Lowe in November 2007 in Independence Square who was in tears for his country because of the BLP stewardship.

    If there is any truth to accusations of corruption why would the politicians support legislation that could “expose” them.
