Is Carnival a national or moral festival?

It can be argued that Carnival is tearing apart the moral fabric of society to the detriment of our children (Kiddie Carnival and Carnival in schools).

The Government of Trinidad and Tobago is distributing TT$147 million this year for Carnival. It is no surprise that this celebration has been pushed into people’s psyche as “the national festival.” When the funds for all the other festivals and celebrations in the multi-ethnic country are added, they do not come close to the money being given away for Carnival.

It is Government-manufactured propaganda that Carnival is the national festival because many religious groups do not actively participate in Carnival festivities such as Adventists, Pentecostals, Muslims and Hindus. Moreover, only one group of people play steel pans, stick fighting, moko jumbies, blue devils and Canboulay. Mainly that group sings calypso, extempo and soca – another evidence that Carnival is not a national festival. Most people flock to beach houses and catch flights out of the country, which are totally booked months in advance for this season. Far more people seek to escape from Carnival than to participate in it.

The masquerade of women in the streets can be summed up in four Bs: Bikini, Beads, Bottom and Breasts. Couples gyrating in public like dogs in heat, have no respect for themselves, their parents, children and grandchildren. Carnival is destroying those who participate in it. Our women soca artistes dress and gyrate (wine) like strip pole dancers in a nightclub.

The mood atmosphere and music are all about violence, destruction, alcoholism, nudity and sexuality. e.g. Nailah Blackman X Stalk Ashley – Wine Low, Voice x Boyzie – SHAKEDOWN, Dj Private Ryan x Skinny Fabulous – Wine Pon Yuh Fren (Official Audio) BATTALION Music, Mical Teja – Runaway (D Ninja Roadmix), Problem Child – Mash Up (D Ninja X Muv Edit), Rome – Rum, Gyal & Money and Viking Ding Dong, Lyrikal & Travis World – Child Of Bacchanal. And remember $147,000,000.00 is pushed to promote this orgy.

    Get out of your mind and get into your body.
    Multiculturalism is about the sharing of cultures rather than exclusivism for a race, creed or class. Free music is the best and popular artists perform at their own expense. An annual community party is about letting off steam and having some fun. Dancing is a means of channeling excess sensual and sexual energy and is not an orgy.

    It’s amazing how the ignorance of this Muslim named woman is willing to denegrate the cultural expressions of Afrikan peoples everywhere.

    Culture comes with all its warts. Warts for some, lived realities for others.

    Where has Fatima Mohanmmed interrogated Indians in TNT and their cultural expressions which seems to include the killing of their own people who’ve had sexual interactions with non Indians, not of parental arrangement.

    As a presumed Muslim, how would this Mohammadan describe days of walking, bowing, stoning the devil in effigy, while half naked and loitering around as called the pilgrimage to Mecca?

    Under Shia Islam, how would she characterize the annual marches to Karbala in Iraq. Is this not a religious festival where millions march for weeks sometimes and populations and governments providing, housing, food, aid?

    Looks a lot like a carnaval!

    And if the carnival of TNT could be distilled within your simplistic representations, how then would you explain the culture vultures making that annual stampede to TNT, Brazil and elsewhere to ‘borrow’ expressions to implant within Hollywood, for example, to give relevance.

    Where this Fatima whose last name just happens to coincide with a so-called prophet of Islam alias Mohammad. Fatima, as wife, accepting a largely made up ethos, but acceptable cultural norms.

    Where is the third party evidence that this man was who they say he was? Was there ever any person so named within the culture he is said to have founded, or is that too just another carnival lasting for 1200 years.

    Tell us about the dancing in Sufi Islam as the central means of spiritual expression and praising what they call god? Would you have any idea where that carnival tradition was founded and practiced for tens of thousands of years before the notional Mohammad entered human cultural civilization?

    From your writing alone, we surmise that you are talking about an issue from the context of the blissfully ignorant while pissing on the Afrikan carnaval traditions, all over the world, which are integrally connected to TNT and everywhere Afrikan or indigenous peoples may be.

    Admit, that you are a light weight without the narrowest understanding about the civilizations of aboriginal woman.

    Today in the West Bank, not Gaza, a carnaval of Israeli Occupation Force troops, pretending to be doctors, other health workers.

    Raided a hospital and killed men on gurneys and beds recovering from illnesses, injuries. Maybe, all Muslims.

    What animals are these Zionists. Again, breaking every law known to Mohammad and man!

    But when Mohammad im refusing to go to the carnaval mountain, spending time on trite, while a mountain of violence finds her co-religionists in Palestine.

    No need to waste any lines on these petty, pious and hypocritical people. During the summer months, there is a large movement of Gulf Arabs who descend to London in their droves whilst escaping their intolerably hot summer climate.

    They bring with them their high end cars. They hit the massage parlours and brothels. They pay for as many prostitutes that they can manage. They knock back copious amounts of alcohol as well as drugs. I don’t know if they have the time to pray to Allah whilst they are having the time of their lives in London.

    After 4-6 weeks they return back to their ultra conservative environment where they rape, bully and murder their domestic African employees predominately young girls. Why? …… because they can.

    These same pious Muslims/ Arabs rampaged through our beloved Africa continent and enslaved us. I don’t need to be lectured by this Mohammed lady.

    My message to Fatimah Mohammed is that people who live in glass houses should not be throwing stones. If you find Trinidad so undesirable, tek a plane to one of the many Muslim countries where you will not feel out of place.

    I can assure you one thing Johnny Boy. Once those boys from the UAE arrive and start to build their high rise apartments and hotels. The Eastern European girls will be flown out for free in their own chartered flights to service these men. Some of the Bajan girls will be rewarded handsomely. They will be nuff money to be made by many. Money is a good test for those with pious morals.

    The Caribbean has always been a place that has serviced the sex industry. This is what our tourism industry has always stood for.
