“Traffic exiting roundabout orange marker have to cross two lanes of traffic to enter gas station red marker. In the meantime traffic compete to exit from Chefette yellow marker and CGI building blue marker. To continue the description of the madness traffic exits KFC black marker. The green marker is a mini roundabout.”

MAKE BOTH EXITS FROM CHEFETTE AND CGI LEFT TURN ONLY AND THOSE FROM KFC & THE GAS STATION AS WELL. PROBLEM SOLVED

Whisper Boyce does not believe in legacy he believes in inheritance which, based on English law generally requires that someone dies.

That the whole traveling population north of the Warrens Redman Village area has been dying for the year since he got his palms greased by Cost You More to build their road should be evident to wunna who car does go thru dem pot holes by de light like if Whisper got on a rough rider condom and jukking we botsie oval dat area by de light not delight.

I call it de highway 7 6.30 wuk up while you driving road.

John live in de heights in Christ Church and, after he get dem $3 million, and Stinkliar get dem IPads round election, dem doan give a bad word bout we nor Cost U more.

Just goes to show you that there is no honor among thieves and a tief (Boyce) from a tief (Cost U More) does mek GOD laugh

  2. I was going to say that to enter the gas station they would ask for and build a one way entry on the highway just past the roundabout since it would be forbidden to use the right lane to enter the gas station.

You would has to drive to the Little Green roundabout and come back up

Bad for that Stations business but …..

  3. Back in the day when I was a pretend professional, I had a client who had to remove 2 wall houses to locate an entrance to his facility as mandated by MTW and Town Planning.

The planners/Engineers have to do some models/animations etc and fix the traffic problems at Warrens.

Barbados have enough competent professionals to solve these problems if they would reduce the amount of time they spend on the golf course or playing tennis or whatever it is they do when they should be working.lol

  4. It boggles the mind that the planners would not have ensured that traffic flow was not properly designed to implement for the reopening of the gas station. There is also the opportunity to divert traffic from KFC drive thru to pint to the exit which leads to the highway to the North West.

Apologies for the errors on this post, they have been corrected on the original blog (bajanflick).

  5. What wunna expect when we have fcuking idiots in jobs they are not qualified for?

  6. @islandgal246,

Barbados has more than enough qualified people. It is possible that they just are not motivated.

They may be ( “idiots” (Bajan parlance) but they are well qualified.

  7. The escape route behind Kentucky is mystery
Much of the land was owned by the most famous Indian family in Barbados and they charged the Government acting on behalf of the people of Barbados an arm and a leg to acquire. Yet Bajans still shop in their stores. Then there is the land owned by his Royal Sirship, and the Government acting on behalf of the people of Barbados was “forced” (really?) into creating unnecessary roundabouts and escape routes to facilitate entry to the various properties even at the expense of the possibility of the loss limb.

  8. @Hants

The ‘madness’ at Warrens as nothing to do with being qualified but more about moola.

If you had the opportunity to meet the chicks in the planning dept … yah would shake yah head … Mind you, they are very easy on the eyes …!

  10. David “The ‘madness’ at Warrens”

That would be a great title for a video game. That layout is perfect for lots of cars crashing.
You could have BAFBFP’s “chicks in the planning dept” scoring points.lol

How about Bajans creating some video games and ring tones and apps etc.
Anybody create an app for tourists showing the best beaches, best places to eat and be entertained in Barbados.

  11. @Hants

A couple Bajan Apps out there for download but there is scope for much more.

    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/barbados!/id481065894?mt=8

  12. Maybe the BTA could spend a $1 million +- on some bright young UWI grads to develop Tourism related apps.

  13. @ Hants

For such a revolutionary thought to occur to the Elcock bandwagon David Thomson would have to return and instruct Mara Thompson to give back de people of Barbados de $ millions that she got using for she chilren university education

    Neva happen!!!

  14. De Family First ripoff funds dem

  15. ‘Maybe the BTA could spend a $1 million +- on some bright young UWI grads to develop Tourism related apps.’

Not even a million, all them have to do is state what them want the app to do and then put up a 5000 price tag for the best one. Hope someone at the bta reading this.

  16. Why does ever thing in barbados got a underlieing story about someone accused of miss management of funds?

  17. Isn’t the modus more about contracting a consultant from over an away?

  18. @ready done

    Is yours tongue in cheek?

It is the way business is done in Little England.

  19. Wunna tink dah bad? A relative of mind went to work at National Petroleum Corporation as a draughtman. He found a drawing with dee sidewalk in dee middle of dee road and when he mentioned it to dee Manager King, he asked somebody ‘who is the young upstart?”.

We know what you mean. But it comes over more like “A Relative with a Sharp MIND”. Unlike the robotic jackass Manager called King of Idiots.

  22. Stupse. The government (including the late Thompson) had no interest in governing with common sense, only in demagoguery and lies. Cancelled the fly overs and 6 years later still clueless. But it suit we. Pop popcorn do.

  23. I live near the Warrens Roundabout and I know several people from my area and close by who avoid it like the plague. Luckily people are so scared of it that they tiptoe around it and use horns and indicator lights to ensure that the other road users have no doubt about which lanes they propose to take. As a result the accidents have decreased somewhat since the initial horrendous rate of 2 Christmases ago. In my view however, the worst junction is the one in which people in the outside lane of the roundabout coming from UWI zip past persons coming from redmans village straight across their path to enter the Simpson’s Industrial estate. It is amazing that there have been relatively few accidents at that junction with the most accidents (that I have seen) being when the same traffic from UWI impacts persons coming from Redmans village while using the wrong lane to go towards the polyclinic.

The officially sanctioned lanes are mostly counterintuitive but they work if everyone is aware and follows the arrows. Unfortunately however there are several drivers on the roundabout that are not so aware.

  24. Whether you agree with flyovers or not the least taxpayers should expect after spending so many millions in remedial road work is better than what obtains at Warrens currently.

  25. You can not continue to make up things as you go along, especially in the absence of evidence and proper analyses to support your decisions. This is 2013, not the 60s.

  26. You would has to drive to the Little Green roundabout and come back up

Bad for that Stations business but …..

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Shortly after the gas station reopened, two little “no right turn” signs were quietly erected indicating that motorist wishing to enter SOL, Cheffete and CGI were now prohibited from making right turns across traffic.

After being up for a couple of days and totally ignored by patrons of these three business, they subsequently removed. I have not been to that area recently so I do not know if the signs were replaced with larger ones. What I do know is that motorist will ignore them, just like they ignore the ones south of the KFC roundabout. A concrete solution is required instead.

  27. How about extending the island embankment to the CGI exit? God forbid we need jersey barriers!

  28. Why only to CGI?
Those coming off the highway and attempting to turn into the gas station are more problematic. I say extend it all the way to the SOL entrance and create another island there. They will also have to erect a “No Vending” sign, but dah easy.

Alternativly, to get the building a society train nearer to the tracks, they could relocate some of those vendors displaced by the recapturing of Bridgetown.

  29. I totally agree with the extension of the concrete island embankment to the CGI exit if that means forcing the Chefette and CGI patrons to turn left to exit those establishments. However, I use that road very frequently and I do not think turning right is a major cause for concern. I have never seen an accident there. That problem dwarfs the other ones at this roundabout.

The other thing that needs REinstituting is to ensure, by signage and police enforcement, that people in the roundabout coming from UWI or Redman’s village and intending to go to chefette or the Gas station or CGI or other businesses along that road, travel west on the highway up to the Kentucky mini roundabout and make their way via the other mini roundabouts to the places intended. The signage still as of today mandates persons to cross the two lanes to go to chefette etc.

  30. The suggestion is to extend from the gas station down to CGI. We are saying the same thing.

  31. This is cutting season, Jersery Barriers are expensive and were not budgeted for.The MOF is not entertaining any supplemental talk, so Jersey Barriers will have to go on the back burner for a little while.

  32. I notice from time these new names appearing and dissappearing form this blog
Who the frig now is this LEFF DEM ?

    JUST ASKING

  33. JUST ASKING……Did David appoint you as guardian of this blog? You musse got on a uniform with some bars pon yuh shoulder. LOL No wonder yuh getting on so!

  34. @David
Drivers just have to learn how to drive. Signs are to be obeyed, whatever your inclination, not ignored, thus a solid line is Not to be crossed until it ends. and a double solid line means that there is no crossing the line from either sign. Obey the signs, and lines and there will be no or fewer accidents.

  35. @Alivin

    There is a reality.

  36. Slight typographical error… “crossing the line from either side…”

  39. Is it not incredible that nearly 4 months has elapsed since the decision by authorities to allow traffic to cross two lanes exiting from the Darcy Scott (Warrens) to enter the SOL gas station…MADNESS.

MADNESS like everything else in Barbados can be bought, ask the big boys.
