As incredible as it may seem to some, the Prevention of Corruption Bill, 2012 has passed the Lower House on its journey to being proclaimed. Hopefully this will be done before the Prime Minister rings the bell for the next general election. One suspects though that Prime Minister Stuart will deliver on this piece of legislation, this is the stuff legacy is built. Perhaps the one regret is that yet again Hansard will NOT record a contribution from the leader of the Opposition Owen Arthur.

A listen to the debate disappointed yet again. Members of parliament on both sides joined hands to paint a picture of a courageous group who has had to bear the brunt of vilification from the public. References were made to the #16 ranking which Barbados holds on Transparency International. The Prime Minister referenced the need to recognize that there is a perception that many in public life engage in questionable behaviour, therefore the need to have integrity legislation.  The listener was left with the impression that the government although tabling the legislation, has done so kicking and screaming.

To state the obvious integrity legislation serves many purposes. In private enterprise rules governing code of conduct is routine. It ensures that all employees are aware of the consequences of certain actions. It helps to feed a culture of excellence. BU posits that many practices which currently fly under the radar may be discontinued or forced into the open with the advent of integrity legislation. Should we remind the Attorney General that Transparency International’s ranking is based on a perception index? It is known how PSV permits were procured by may as a good example. A read of the Auditor General reports from 2006 also helps to form positions unfavourable to politicians and others in the public sector.

Finally a word to Minister Ronald Jones who spent some time attacking Barbados Underground and Barbados Free Press. Other members of parliament made veil references to social media. BU freely admits that some commenters abuse the cloak of anonymity. We take the opportunity to remind them that to whom much is given much is expected. to One of the greatest ironies is those most culpable are members of the House and their surrogates.

Mia Mottley is on record of the need to censor the blogs and it seems Minister Jones is so minded. It is only five years ago when the blogosphere was DLP friendly and of course Jones had no such worries then. Good news maybe coming for local politicos who want the blogs monitored. The draft Communications Data Bill is currently being circulated for comment in the UK. The bill proposes that “internet providers having to retain records of all their customers’ online activity for 12 months.” Further that the authorities would have the authority to access “email and the internet. The authorities would be able to see details of who communicated with whom, and when and where, but they would not be able to see the content of the message.” BU will continue to monitor this matter closely given the implication for Barbados adopting UK legislation.

Despite the comments from the government side that this legislation is complex which explains the time taken. BU believes it is the lack of will which is responsible. The government cannot win a political debate on economic policy therefore it is forcing other pieces of legislation through parliament to shape their election platform agenda. BU could care less. Proclaim the damn legislation. All the same kudos to the government for moving the Prevention of Corruption Bill, 2012 through the Lower House. We will continue monitor its progress.  It is unfortunate the Freedom of Information Act is not in the frame. One would have imagined this is an easier piece of legislation to enact.

Man all ya so stupid like Sarge to believe this scrawl up scrawl up ? Not worth the paper it may be drafted on I said, ….Get real DLP, resta we Bajans NOT DAFT….LOL

  2. Why are we splitting hairs? So far so good, we await the proclamation of the legislation when it happens. At the moment there is no Integrity Legislation.

Nothing changes much under the sun and men like jones (sorry that is an oxymoron I.e. jones and man in the same sentence) would cringe in their boots about integrity legislation

If the Act was to Permit Bullers a Reduction in Taxes Levied on Men with Big Botsies” he and Partick Todd would have voted for it posthaste. We are what we are.

  4. Pessimism seems to be order of the day. There is NO DOUBT THE BILL WOULD BE PASSED” even more realistically than BBE coming out of the SKIES in royal regale. BTW bushie my comments are not meant for approval of anyone here on BU. after all a woman must still be seen and not heard and the last thing that is expected of a female is that she overturned the “Apple cart” .Bu in all its splendour is still “a good ole boys club” ac just happened to be passing through , and stumbled upon.

Gimme a break. Did I hear of a Prevention of Corruption Bill coming 1792 days of 4 years and 11 months plus into a incorrigible ONE TERM of contemptuous troopers and quarks. Should the rest of Bajan public now to be jumping for joy, the likes of a fastidious ac or a enclitic Queen Bee ? Hello people, have they forgotten the reprographic days of giants of hibernation and loss documents of a falling off the turnip truck kind? Now we hearing of a repose of a 100 day promise, coming from a manifesto smudged beyond all recall, bearing fresco examples of breech and falsehoods. Have they ever heard of the book Anything for Dummies? Surely by now they have obtained copyrights and or printed one. What any sensible thinking person should be doing given certain records of performance and promises of the past (as with the Alexandra’s fandango), is to tarry a while as to what is in this document worthy of remit, before jumping into the ling and doing another Barn yard Dance.

Silly season or not, some should make more use of the gray-ey brain matter even if recovering from the long low air pocket swirl when giants were but sleeping and Boeing Barbados was on auto pilot to nowhere. To hear cry of this lofty pronouncement must be like bells ringing in their ears. A chance to build creditability pointage for fear ( at this 13th hour) there was none. No Capital assets, nothing worthy of boast. Less we forget Christmas lights are turning on with fervor and children must receive gifts even adequate time to play.

To the more sober, let’s hope finally this signals the anti- climax before the long awaited bell toll. At least that may be worth a getting up to stay…..

“Do you know how many bills were passed in the lower house that only became law YEARS afterwards”

This is the point many are missing. Kudos for bringing the debate. Now to see the actual implementation. Can anyone say “Safety and Health at Work Act”?

Or a bill that was proclaimed and “pulled back” as Caswell pointed out a while ago??

Let’s applaud but save the jumping and dancing for when there’s actually music. The DJ has only just arrived to the party and is still setting up.

    Just Observing

  7. @ac

Pessimism? Of course we have a right to be pessimistic. We are talking about successive governments who have flouted the financial rules of government as exposed in every single Auditor General’s report. What pessimism what?

Every damn government agency their financials are late yet you would want us to place blind confidence in the government?

BTW how do you know who is a man or woman on BU? You have no clue about commenter’s gender.

  8. Was a piece of significant legislation passed yesterday or NOT!so where is the blind confidence? unlike you i am not lumping all the political eggs in the same basket. as for the gender just going by the response woman are opened to by certain comments it is obvious to tell the male from the female.

It is about time now, that something be done about this bad quality fuel being dispensed in this land. Has anyone noticed that the strange concoct they are selling us as gasoline has a different smell and color, and more importantly lasts or should we say vaporizes in seconds? So fast, that one can venture a bet, sometimes even before it reaches our vehicles’ carburetors. One of those true Bajan anomalies.
Before the last price increase (two weeks ago), informal tests have shown, that in a 5 year old 1500 Toyota, one could manage a meager mileage of 2 kilometer out a $1 worth of the pss water. Nowadays it more looks like 1.5: 1 and that’s no joke. How convenient all this at the busiest time of the year. Situation at the pump continues to stink, as this putrid odor fumigates our rides, every time we visit the pumps. As if a precursor, statements issued by the GIS, ‘increased prices passed on due to fluctuations in imported prices,’ we know an addled egg when we smell one. Surely BNOC, you all could do better than that. In future how about some published documentation and listings of quality for all to see. Bim is full of competent chemical engineers and hard working people deserve better. Why make us pay more for less?

What makes matters worse (again), did we not hear Senator Benn in the Senate proffering his newly found observations about his calamity and the petrol’s volatility? He also purported that the petrol is no good. His timing however, could not have been more uncanny. So what about the past years, Mr. Senator? Is it not strange how no one bothered to follow up in way of tests of quality, and now this polar observation coming from the now Senator, then Minister who once heading the appropriate department? ‘Bajans MUST be considered real stupid den, for who could forget the now infamous poor man’s basket of goods that was promised to be addressed in the last Budget. What then could Mr. Benn be really saying by his latest observation, other than an obviously connects with ’other’ ends?
Another revelation, did we hear correctly that repayment to Barrack and BAICO policyholders is about to start? Start now but finish when? Could there be by chance any correlation between these recent hikes and this newly found glimmer? Again, hard working people cannot afford to be sleeping, festive time or nay. If the gas stinks someone from the appropriate places must do more than just say so.

  10. Declaration by Political Parties as stipulated by the Bill addresses the CORE ill that is at the centre of the political process. It is for this reason and this reason alone that this Bill will NEVER be properly implemented …!

  11. Dear comrade Old Onions Bag , welcome back to BU.
I hope you had a fruitful discussion with our leader Owen Arthur.
Glad to see you have eased up your call for general elections , since that is NOT our call as BLPites.

    1. Our call is to get Owen to contribute more to the debates in the House.

    2. Get Owen to call the PAC meeting as he threatened.

The general elections will come soon enough , but before then we need Owen to explain no. 1 and 2 above.

    Or else…….?

  12. the data communications bill in the UK sems to give the power to Phone tapping but with the internet instead and npw without a court approving a warrant. 1984 seems to be a few decades premature. let us also realise that once the UK passes such legislation to curb privacy and improve national security then we will follow, as there is no such thing as too much power for a government.

  13. let us not wonder whatfrundel will get out of the prevention of corruption bill, it may legacy, or something for the political platform, the important thing is what we as a society and country gets from it and that can only be inproved good governance and one step further from being a banana republic.

    i am thankful for it.

  14. @ old onion bags

You, old onion bags we know do not welcome any GOOD NEWS rightfully belonging to the DLP and certainly not pleased that the Prevention Corruption Bill, 2012 is in motion and near finalization and old onion bags, the following was/is worth posting:

Onions, your God Owen Arthur is a drunk, dishonest and corrupt; this is TOTAL TRUTH. He, Owen is a national embarrassment but many in Barbados support him; this also is TOTAL TRUTH. A BLP win is possible. A DLP win is also possible. Mitt Romney and the Republican party (United States) were sure they could/would defeat Barack Obama and the Democratic Party. Romney: ‘It’s possible Obama could win but ‘not likely’. Romney had prepared ONLY a victory speech. He had prepared his inauguration and apparently in process of choosing a cabinet. Romney and the Republicans are now very embarrassed. [If] Owen does not win he will face like embarrassment simply because he, Owen sprouts a lot of mouth, too much.

Both CLICO and Al Barrack are political issues and in the face of both parties, the BLP and DLP. Both, however, positions the BLP on the losing end of the stick. Arthur and the BLP gave birth to Al Barrack. Thompson and the DLP in 2008 accepted the Al Barrack problem without choice. Al Barrack in 2008 became Thompson’s problem but was FIRST Arthur’s problem. Don’t forget the Supervisor of Insurance in 2006 issued a Cease and Decease Order against CLICO. The Cease and Decease Order came before Arthur and the BLP but they simply did nothing. Arthur like Thompson stepped down in CLICO mud. Arthur took CLICO money, just a lot less than Thompson. The BLP did nothing, absolutely nothing to resolve the Al Barrack mess that has ballooned quite so large. Arthur perhaps was into folly with Julie Price, hit upon one of those drinking binges and or was sleeping. Never-the-less, Barrack has in his possession a court ordered judgment. Bajans must pay. The Al Barrack matter is ugly but serious, extremely. Regardless of his [partnership] with Dale Marshall and George Payne, Al Barack has the last laugh – a court ordered judgment. Bajans must pay. George Payne, though is slated ten million and Dale Marshall two million.

The DLP house is not totally clean. They, the DLP entertained friends but the wrong ones, Leroy Parris and Lawrence Dupre. The BLP house is also not totally clean. The BLP, though, with audacity barks at its DLP foe as though its house is clean or cleaner, it’s not. The light of Greed and corruption shines on both parties, the BLP and DLP but idiocy without doubt weighs more on the BLP side of the road. This is NOT DEBATABLE.

Owen Arthur and the BLP gave birth to AL Barrack. Three (3) S&P downgrades, massive land theft, those deaths at Arch Cot, Britton Hill, etc. All occurred during the BLP government with Arthur at the helm. Wait! Here is more, more BLP embarrassment, the Nigerian Water heater project and the 75,000 campaign cheque. Ohhhhhh The VECO Corporation, can’t omit The VECO Corporation. Really, VECO is the height of delight. Owen Arthur, Mia Mottley and Dale Marshall awarded VECO a government contract without tender. VECO built the prison at Dodds in St. Philip but had no record of building prisons and the prison project, low and behold extended millions over budget. They (Arthur, Mottley and Marshall) maybe now are slapping each other in the face like the goofy Three Stooges.

The United States FBI and IRS officials on 08/31/2006 raided the offices of several prominent members of the Alaskian Legislation. The investigation involved allegation of illegal gifts to lawmakers from the VECO Corporation home based in Alaska. One of them, Senator Ted Stevens was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 29, 2008 on seven counts of alleging that Stevens received from VECO hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts that he did not declare on his US Senate financial disclosure forms. Stevens was convicted on all seven of these charges on October 28, 2008. All convictions were later vacated. Another, Don Young was under federal investigation for possibly taking bribes, illegal gratuities or unreported gifts from the VECO Corporation. Between 1996 and 2006, Young received $157,000 from VECO employees and its political action committee. Also, the Alaska State House of Representatives Pete Kott, Bruce Weyhrauch and Vic Kohring were all charged with federal crimes as part of the investigation into VECO.

Owen Arthur, Mia Mottley and Dale Marshall gave to VECO a government contract WITHOUT TENDER. VECO built the prison at Dodds in St. Philip but had no record of building prisons. Certainly, VECO gave to them, Owen Arthur, Mia Mottley and Dale Marshall something for such generosity. Those three vagobonds, Owen Arthur, Mia Mottley and Dale Marshall in the United States would have been persecuted and convicted fortaking bribes, illegal gratuities and gifts from VECO.

The recent S&P downgrade was made MAJOR NEWS due to Arthur and the BLP. Immediately after announcement of the S&P downgrade Arthur went about ranting and raving CALL ELECTION!!! “let us get this behind us [the election] and let all the fundamental decisions that must be made about the countries future be made in a period of calm and seriousness rather than in a period of electorial frenzy”. Arthur seems to think that Barbados needs him only him to survive in light of fact, he’s a drunk, inept and corrupt. He, Arthur surely had not forgotten that Richard Francis, an S&P associate in 2005. . . . stated that [Barbados] deficit of ten percent was too high and the debt level between 43 and 50 percent of GDP Although less than half of Jamaica’s and even smaller than St. Kitts-Nevis was unacceptable. Barbados before 2008 was not financially stable. Three (3) S&P downgrades proves this.

Really, that Arthur the BLP group is thrilling and suspenseful. Film producer, Michael Bay should consider them for movie making. Arthur during a budget debate could not remember that he actually chaired the meetings of cabinet to discuss VECO. He said he wished he was there. But when told by Minister Sinckler and the Prime Minister – ‘no Owen, you were there,’ he then said that he said something else. When pressed again, he again said something completely different and also said that he never said what he said on the two previous occasions the entire country heard him say it. Either, he is a suffer of Alzheimer’s Disease, forgot taking his medication, was drunk, or both.

Enough is enough. Let that dog lie dead, Owen Arthur

  17. Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney (United States) for 18 months proclaimed implementing a $5 trillion tax cut, on top of $2 trillion of additional spending for the military, said he was going to pay for it by closing loopholes and deductions. He had been asked over 100 times how you would close those deductions and loopholes, and could not answer.

Arthur said “economy is a mess right now, we will fix it’. He, however, does not offer Bajans a manifesto [a proposal, program or plan] how he could or would do so in light of FACT that the government owes a large debt to Contractor Al Barrack via a court ordered judgment and is flat broke “all in the red”.

You Queen BEE and Comrade Old Onion Bags might somehow call upon Arthur for this information.

    Hi Balance,

With all respect to you , it was Owen $ 75,000.00 cheque (which he deposited into his PERSONAL bank account instead of the the BLP party’s own) that caused the credibilty crisis for him and my beloved BLP.

The PROOF of the allegation was proven by the actions of our Owen.

My grave fear that his distancing himself from the Dodds prison contract and failure to carry out his threat to call the PAC , points to a possible rotting dead fish on the road ahead.

On those 2 issues alone , balance how could you blame the DLP for causing people to distance themselves from my leader Owen and my beloved BLP ?

Owen Arthur has been given more than ample time by the DEMs to put the TRUTH on the table.
    But ———time is running out.

  21. Of course one cannot legislate integrity but the rules of the game must be clear to punish wrong doers when they appear.

  22. Both the BLP and DLP anytime, at will may rectify any and or all allegations placed before them. Arthur via the December 2007 YOUTUBE video declares he’s an innocent man. His attempt, however, does not mention the 75,000 campaign cheque. Sooooooo funny Buggs Bunny forgot to laugh.

David Thompson, now deceased escaped CLICO confrontations. Arthur, though is alive and kicking, should level with the Barbarian people as did President Obama (United States). President Obama, however, is not linked to greed and corruption; it would have come to light long before now via Donald Trump, Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, etc. President Obama “failed” the american people – tagged a one-term president but was granted a second term (November 6, 2012). He (President Obama) also brought to light the truth about Mitt Romney and his Bain Capital Company.

Arthur in 2006 totally ignored the Cease and Decease Order aganst CLICO. Arthur like Thompson stepped down into CLICO mud. Arthur took CLICO money but a lot less than Thompson; these allegations if non-true should be rectified. Arthur and the BLP gave birth to Al Barrack. Al Barrack in 2008 became Thompson’s probmem but was first Arthur’s problem; these allegations if non-true should be rectified.
Owen Arthur, Mia Mottley and Dale Marshall awarded VECO (Alaska) a government contract without tender. VECO built the prison at Dodds in St. Philip but had no record of building prisons. The prison project sad to say extended millions over budget; these allegations if non-true could be and should be rectified.

  23. @ Queen Bee

    PM: Bajan politicians are clean

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart has defended his colleagues and opponents against abusive, “demeaning” and “ugly” accusations of corruption.

Speaking as Parliamentarians resumed debate on and approved the Prevention of Corruption Bill, the country’s leader said he had heard “all of the judgmental talk” from “naysayers”, but made it clear he was fully committed to “the clean arena of politics and that’s why I feel so deep a commitment to it”.

“The truth is, every member of the House, on both sides, has had the courage and conviction to expose him or herself to public scrutiny, to have every man and woman in society pronounce on their character,” he said.

The St. Michael South MP said while the Democratic Labour Party and Barbados Labour Party members had their differences, which he expected to sharpen “over the next few weeks, months, whatever”, they all “ought to be commended because not many people will be willing to do that”.

“Politics is a noble profession made up for the most part of noble men and women. You will not get me joining the naysayers who from the security of their prepared positions and from the comfort and safe distance of their preferred positions sit in judgment and want to say all sorts of ugly and demeaning things about politicians,” he stated.

“We have passed the test by daring to go public and say ‘I submit myself to your judgment, and not many people do that, I expose my family to being abused, I exposed myself to being abused.”

He said politicians on both sides of the House of Assembly’s aisle had made a sacrifice “because of a profound commitment to the development of the country” and gave the anti corruption legislation his full support.

“No piece of legislation is perfect, no piece of legislation has had the capacity to please everybody, but it is our attempt to deal with a problem which we did not create and which did not begin with us — it dates back centuries,” Stuart said. (SC)

Desperation breeds many mental and psychological disorders so I am the least bit surprised that Queen Bee is now grappling with psychosis. While telling BU of how many tapes and files they have to unleash on the election platform, their party and political leader is informing the nation that “Bajan politicians are clean”. Now one need not to have attended two schools to recognise that there is dissonance in the two messages.

  28. @Queen bee
“My grave fear that his distancing himself from the Dodds prison contract and failure to carry out his threat to call the PAC , points to a possible rotting dead fish on the road ahead.

My grave fear is that not addressing Bagatelle, ignoring the specifics of the concrete tank, leaving the AX report languishing, not taking action on CLICO, reneging on a threat to make heads roll, failing to lock up any BLP member for the alleged corruptions of 14 years and continuing to make promises that won’t or cannot be kept points to a possible rotting dead whale on the road ahead.

    Just Observing.

After the PM’s exoneration of politicians from both side of the divide against the allegations and nasty invectives of corruption it will be most interesting to see how he will be able to convince voters that OSA is still a lying thieving corrupt man in the upcoming elections.

Would the electorate fall for the truthfulness of the barbs against OSA and promulgated on the blog by the likes of fractured BLP, ac, CCC, Clone and the band of DLP yardfowls and hacks. How can they now piss parade after the Molasses from Integrity Hill gave a clean bill of uncorrupting health to all politicians in the House of Assembly?

Will we now hear about the much promised tape recording of Pegasus deal or the backhand deals involving Bannister and OSA resulting in a still born exposé of the Pierhead marina because the PAC is moribund by a handicapped OSA?

Will the voters be so naive and stupid as to fall once again to the parody of lies and character assassinations that played out in January 2008? Will we still see the fig leaf of shame being removed by a gust of honesty from the PM Mr. Integrity from the stolen but hidden family jewels of poor little OSA?

The PM needs to go further and be a true man of integrity and honestly apologize to Clyde Mascoll regarding the Hardwood Housing scandal.

While he on his feet let him also repudiate his statement of clear support for Leroy Parris in which he falsely and dangerously called Mr. Parris an estimable gentleman and an astute and successful business man who has done tremendous good to this country’s economy and society.
He can keep Leroy as his private pal but certainly also as his public leper. He, Leprosy Pal, needs to be isolated preferably some where in the expensive hideaway called Dodds soon to be renamed the David Thompson Memorial Sanatorium for Liars and Crooks.

Dem politicians really laughing at we!

  32. Mitt Romney said to the American people “Obama failed, fire him and put me in”. He (Romeney) made a wish to the American people and thought it came true. The DLP alike President Obama on many occassions was tagged a one-term administration. We shall see.

  39. @ onions

You really believe the BLP party will win [2013 election]. Well, Mitt Romney believed he would win but didn’t. He didn’t immediately concede to his supporters or President Obama because he didn’t have a concession speech. He, Romney prepared only a victory speech. He had prepared his inaguration and had begun choosing his cabinet. Cross your fingers onions.

  40. I have difficulty reconciling what the DLP politicians and supporters have been saying on the blogs and at their party meetings as opposed to what the PM is reported to have said during the debate on integrity legislation. If you listen to them outside of parliament, you would get the impression that all of the BLP politicians are corrupt. Now I am reading that the PM has given politicians on all sides a clean bill of health. I must admit that I am confused.

I am afraid that I cannot take the word of those reporting the PM’s speech: I need to hear the recording or read it for myself. One thing though Hansard is over five years late.

  41. @ Bugs Bunny
The polls never tagged President Obama a one-term President; he was ahead in every single state that he won leading up to the elections. In the DLP’s scenario the polls (i.e. the electorate) and the Opposition are calling this government a one-term one.
It is time you and your pals stop stretching the truth to align with President Obama’s story, after all a presidential election and an election to choose a party and Prime Minister are chalk and cheese. The events in The Bahamas, Belize, Jamaica, Grenada and St. Lucia are more comparable.

  42. If you want corrupt…..we gine up dey where the Greek servant Papomoilius buried near Hackentons Cliff if ya please…..ask he who tief he dowry….ask he why he tekk up he belongings and gone All Saints…..and he had millions

  43. @ enuff

You perhaps have a reading and comprehension problem. Obama administration on many occassions was tagged a one-term president. The DLP on many occassion was tagged a one-term administration. We shall see.

  44. @ enuff

The DLP has cleaned up a lot of mess made by Arthur and the DLP. You and your BLP followers are just like them, messed all over this blog forcing someone else has to clean up. Who said the polls tagged Obama a one-term president? Not me, not on this blog.

  45. what the PM did was to show a touch of class overlooking wrong and giving everyone an opportunity toward redemption with a clean slate, including OSA however it is entirely up the individual

  46. Here is a report about what Prime Minister said in parliament yesterday. It is clear that Caswell is correct.

(SC)

So will you follow your leader and shut your trap regarding the OSA corruption nonsense? Or are you going to stick to your true blue hypocritical colours and lie by saying that you never accused OSA of corruption?

  49. The PM’s contribution to the debate quoted above explains why many have taken a cautious position to the enactment of integrity legislation. DLP surrogates on this blog hint to tapes etc that will expose BLP yet we are all MPs are being wrongly accused of corruption.

This speech is another nail in the coffin of the David Thompson legacy aimed at destroying that false image of a god chiseled by the Thompson cult followers.
Freundel is thrusting the dagger further into the fake “I will never lie, cheat or steal” skeleton of his lifelong enemy.

The only thing left for Stuartie to do is to fully sully the lingering memory of the dead lying crook- who made hundreds of thousands of Bajans believe that OSA and the BLP were a brigand of crooks- is to spit on his grave by allowing criminal investigations into the CLICO/Parris/Thompson nexus.

But this would involve the DLP being exposed to charges of corruption with the Families First Account up for a forensic audit and embarrassing revelations of multi-million dollar proportions. This would make Stuart himself look like an idiot for having back Leroy Parris in Parliament.
