  1. We need to see our Diplomatic Missions overseas working to earn their keep rather than seeing the posting as an opportunity to acquire duty free ‘stuff’ at the expense of taxpayers. We read Prime Minister Thompson’s unflattering view in the press yesterday at the ‘fiefdoms’ which have sprung-up at the overseas missions. The time for a new dispensation has come.

  2. We hear from diplomatic missions from both parties/governments some fantastic ideas each time there is a change, yet the results are the same ” a lotta long talk “. Barbados voted for a change and I expect to see a change to the benefit of this country and the use of the taxpayers money. To me too many officials seem to be on a big holiday and all they have to do is write a flattering report to maintain their post. I have condidence in Mr Evelyn Greaves to take his task seriously and with assistance from Mr Leroy McClean, in Toronto and to a lesser extent Mr Franklyn Greaves also in Toronto ( All of these my personal friends ) I expect big things from them.

  3. The missions overseas can do better. The various heads mean well but some of the staff especially in the New York office needs to be people friendly. I have heard many persons complain about the unmannerly treatment received when they visit the offices for a simple thing such as the renewal of a passport. The Consul General Hon. Lennox Price is a people’s person and I am confident that his professionalism will resonate with his staff. The bottom line is that they need to understand that they are there to serve Barbadians. On the other I am not advocating that they should be disrespected or abused.

  4. We have received the press releases and other information which detail how this event went. Please click on the links below.

  5. The Consulate in Toronto need a house cleaning, the staff act like they running a rum shop, rude to bajan people and when white people come to the office they skin them teeth at them. The consulate is a place of business not any old place, the staff need to be replace with people that have manners, no how to run a business & people skills are lacking big time. Its sad that whenever events that are put on by the tourism board only certain people get invites & some never hear about it till its over. Also, they work as them like come work late & leave early. Have to say that the consulate do not represent BARBADOS in the manner that is required.
So can somebody look in the matter of how the Consulate of Barbados in Toronto can be of a better service to the Barbadian community.
