Warning to Health Authority – MERS Virus Outbreak in UK

Submitted by Robert D. Lucas, Ph.D
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital has just gotten rid of an infection of MRSA S.aureus. Getting rid of the infection would have cost a tidy sum of money.
I have attached an article from the Daily Mail, UK. The article deals with  returning Muslim pilgrims from Saudi Arabia who have contracted the deadly disease MERS. It has been reported that some Barbadians have gone to Saudi Arabia on  pilgrimage. As a microbiologist all I will say is that Barbados has to be very vigilant about allowing people  from Nigeria and Pakistan and other countries. where polio and TB continue to pose problems into its territory. Dealing with MERS is going to be in some aspects similar to handling Ebola. At this point in time,I do not think Barbados is any position to deal with additional problems.
Extract from the Mail UK article:

Patient is Diagnosed with Killer MERS Virus Leeds

A patient from the Middle East is being treated for the killer MERS virus in England, health officials have today confirmed.

Public Health England said the unidentified patient was diagnosed at a hospital in Leeds, before being moved to a specialist centre in Liverpool.

The Government-run body is now scrambling to contact passengers who were on the same plane from Saudi Arabia to Manchester as the patient, amid fears they may also be infected.

MERS, caused by the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus, kills a third of those it strikes. It is considered one of the 10 most urgent threats to humanity by the World Health Organization, as it has no cure.

Victims of Zionism Remembered

Submitted by CARIBBEAN AGAINST APARTHEID IN PALESTINE [CAAP]

On Thursday the 17th of May 2018 at 4p.m. “Caribbean Against Apartheid in Palestine” in conjunction with the Cuban Embassy will be having a flower laying ceremony at the Cuban Monument in Paynes Bay, to remember the victims of Zionism over the past seventy years and indeed beyond.

For over seventy years Palestinians have been daily murdered by the forces of Zionism while courageously standing up for their rights to be free from racism, colonialism, occupation, and oppression. All people committed to human rights need to stand with them. We must show solidarity with them, just as we did against apartheid in South Africa. As recently as on the 14th May 2018 sixty Palestinians were murdered by the Zionists. They include thirteen children shot by Israeli forces and a baby who died overcome by inhaling Israeli teargas, and some two thousand persons were injured by live Israeli ammunition.

Caribbean Against Apartheid in Palestine is asking the public to bring flowers to lay on the monument to remember the victims of Zionism. The monument commemorates the terrorist bombing of a Cuban civilian airline in Barbadian air space. Lalu Hanuman, Attorney-at-law and Secretary of Caribbean Against Apartheid in Palestine, said “It is apt that this monument is the venue, as Zionism is a supremacist terrorist ideology”.

The Grenville Phillips Column – Brace for the Consequences

My last article on Barbados’ vote against the US received sufficient feedback to justify a further explanation.  Some felt that it was simply a case of the US bullying another country, and Barbados’ courageous stand against the US’ offensive threats of retaliation against countries who dared not vote with it.  But is this true?
In assessing claims of truth, we should evaluate evidence.  What is the available evidence?  The US decided to move its Israel embassy to Jerusalem.  Israel did not object.  However, the UN objected and tried to force the US to change its decision.  It did this by crafting a non-binding resolution to condemn the US before all nations at the UN General Assembly.

This type of targeted sanction is normally reserved for nations committing highly offensive actions, like genocide.  The US objected to being singled out for this type of sanction, and the US responded by noting those who voted to condemn it, in order to re-evaluate their friendship agreements.  This is not bullying, rather, it is a response to being bullied.

What is Barbados’ bullying experience with voting against US interests in Israel?  I have found no evidence that Barbados has ever been bullied into voting the way that the US votes.  The evidence shows that every year, it is typical that 100% of our votes are against the way that the US and Israel votes, and this has never put our friendship with the US at any risk.  So why are some claiming that the US bullies us when there is no evidence whatsoever to support such a claim?  Perhaps we are being manipulated.

Let us now address this last UN vote.  This vote was unlike anything that we have ever done as an independent nation.  It was not the typical vote that targeted an issue favourable to Israel or the Palestinians, this was a massive vote directly targeting the US for international condemnation.  That is why the US Ambassador issued her unprecedented warning, which persons have mis-defined as bullying.  This is the first and only time since our independence that we have ever put our friendship with the US in such jeopardy.
To put this in perspective, let us assume that China was singled out for severe criticism at the UN on human rights abuses, and China warned Barbados not to disrespect them before all nations.  Would our principled UN representatives vote to publically embarrass China?  Probably not.

Guyana is currently trying to exploit significant oil reserves in waters disputed by Venezuela.  In my opinion, Guyana has a strong case, but let us assume that Guyana was singled out for criticism at the UN for this action, and they asked us not to disrespect them before all nations.  Would we vote to publically embarrass our Caribbean friend and neighbour?  Probably not.  Why not?  Because we are principled hypocrites?  No.  Because that is not how we treat our friends.  But perhaps it is how we treat perceived enemies.

Errol Barrow summarised our foreign policy as friends of all and satellites of none.  It seems that we are being manipulated into adding … and enemies of the US.  The question is why?

Some have justified our vote by claiming that we have no beneficial relationship with the US, and therefore, nothing to lose by derisively criticising the US in front of all other nations.  This is simply not true.  Barbados is a highly favoured trading partner with the US.  Barbados does not just have a good trading (double-taxation) agreement with the US, or a very good trade agreement like that of Trinidad and Tobago who had an active US military base at the time. We have a rare exceptionally favourable (to Barbados) trading agreement with the US. It is almost unheard of internationally and it is the envy or every country that learns of it.

Being the 2014 winner of the National Innovation Competition, I train groups of individuals, free of cost, to start and grow profitable businesses.  Participants learn to trade with the US and take advantage of this highly beneficial (to Barbados) trade agreement, with direct access to the largest consumer market on the planet.  So I know of what I write.

We are currently on the brink of economic ruin.  The main thing that may keep Barbadians from losing their mortgaged homes, and out of dire poverty if we are surrendered to the IMF, is that favourable trade agreement.  Regrettably, we carelessly treated our friendship with the US with reckless indifference.

Our representatives’ excuse that we were just voting on principle in support of International Law, seems to confirm that they simply misread the UN vote as just another typical vote against Israel’s interests.  The US Ambassador’s uncharacteristic warnings should have prompted them to take a closer look.

So, if we could do it all over again, then how should we have voted?  In my opinion, the most appropriate course of action for complex disputes where we do not have all of the facts, is to abstain from voting.  We should remember that when a vote was taken to give the Palestinians non-member observer state status in the UN in 2012, Barbados did not get involved in the dispute and simply abstained from voting.

The approximately 70-year Arab-Israel dispute qualifies as complex.  Adding a bilateral agreement between the US and Israel that is of concern to the UN further complicates an already complex issue.  Therefore, the most appropriate course of action in the interest of all Barbadians was to abstain from voting.  Eight of our Caribbean neighbours voted in the interests of their citizens and did just that.

Most Barbadians are completely unaware of the grave danger that our UN representatives have now placed us.  If we actually misread the vote as I am charitably assuming, then the damage can be repaired.  However, if it was intentional, then they should have at least warned us to brace for the likely consequences.

So my main point is that if we feel disrespected by another country at the UN, we should vote for the best interest of Barbadians.  If we feel bullied, we should vote for the best interest of Barbadians.  If the US bullies or does not bully another nation, we should vote for the best interest of Barbadians.  If the Palestinians want to establish a runway in Gaza and a central bank in the West Bank, we should vote for the best interests of Barbadians.  In my opinion, our recent vote was not in the best interest of Barbadians.  I am willing to be convinced otherwise with additional evidence.

The only reason why we should not vote for our own self-interests is if there is genocide and the like in another country.  Otherwise, we should do what every other country at the UN does – vote for the self-interests of our citizens, and be wary of being manipulated into voting for the interests of others at the expense of our citizens.

Global Affairs – The American Empire of Chaos

Submitted by Pachamama

As Obama steps up his concentration on the part of government where he still holds relative influence, he and his allies are taking a beating in Ukraine. As commodity prices leap into a deflationary death spiral, American internal pressures mount on the Venezuelan government to curb its influence in the region, with a serious threat to the Maduro regime. With the ’empire of chaos’ becoming more and more unpredictable, by the day, foreign policy thinkers are seeking to make sense of what appears to be a monumental nonsense – they must come to see it as characteristic of empire’s end. With the rise of Syreza, in Greece, Europhiles are waiting for an anti-austerity backlash that could change the political landscape of the community and deliver a mixture of socialists and far right elements into the seat of several governments.

This represents but a snapshot of the global political-economic-military environment. It is an environment in which interests, not friendship nor sentimentality, inform national decision making in a largely callous manner. There is no loyalty amongst nation states as there is none amongst thieves. So the ‘peace’ president has traveled to Indian where he signed significant agreements with Narendra Modi, an ultra right wing, Hindu, zealot. Those agreements included the transfer of nuclear technology in a potentially volatile arena. The trade dimensions would suggest to observers that Indian is now being groomed to challenge or create a rift in relations with China. It is however remarkable that at the military parade, of which Obama was invited to observe, nearly 100% of the equipment on display was Russian.

Palestine, Oh Palestine!

"Historical Palestine was peopled by indigenous Palestinians."

“Historical Palestine was peopled by indigenous Palestinians.”

The Zionist regime in Palestine only started to emerge after the 1880’s (AD). And despite the lies told by the Christian Bible, there was never a geographical location anywhere on earth called Israel, never! During the 1890’s the discourse for a Jewish nation state continued to receive popular support in public narratives. After World War One that discourse, with the help of the allied powers, had reached its ascendancy. We then had the Balfour Declaration (1917), the secret Franco-Anglo-Russo, Sykes-Pico Agreement (1916) as the relative winners of WW1 had displaced the Ottoman Empire and now had designs, largely for the petroleum resources, on Western Asia now known as the Middle East and North Africa regions. So the proposed state of Israel was seen as a beachhead for Western oil and capitalist interests.

So Israel, in Western eyes, was merely a cat’s paw for imperialism. Of course, it helped to have this project marketed within the invisibility of biblical writings even when most of its founders were staunchly atheist. Even today, most so-called Jewish people are non-religious. This Zionist project for occupation continued with the Nakba of 1948, the 1967 war, the 1973 war and a series of interventions since. Within the last five years there have been three separate and distinct large-scale slaughters of the Palestinians by the marauding Zionist regime.

Any talk, by anyone, that there was some historic place known as Israel is patently false! Any suggested that some god somewhere in the shy is some real estate agent with an ability to bestow one peoples’ land to another is the type of propaganda that Goebbels would envy – the bible. This propaganda of biblical proportions was deftly deployed by the Rothschild in setting up the colonial, fictitious, settler entity, of an apartheid state which now calls itself Israel.

Obama – The Case for War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity

Saudi Arabia’s Prince Bandar bin Sultan al-Saud – Credit: The Wall Street Journal

The failure of Saudi intelligence chief, Bandar Bush, to convince President Putin to withdraw political and other support from Syria in a visit to Moscow over two weeks ago was the trigger for the Western-backed false flag operation that may have led to the deaths of over 1400 Syrians in eastern Damascus. This is the same Bandar Bush who spent all day on 9/11 in the company of his brother George Bush, as POTUS. Bandar has been working surreptitiously for the past two years to topple the government of President Assad. This work was not unlike the skulduggery of 9/11, but grander. This time one of the PNAC objectives that inspired the self-inflicted wound was at work in the MENA countries known as the Clean Break Strategy. Bandar’s offer to Putin for economic and political concessions and corporation if he were to turn his back of Iran and Syria represented a final hurdle in widening the instability in the region in a cynical game of the exertion of power from Riyadh but given cover in the name of the hapless American people led by the serial war criminal, Barack Obama, for the first victim of war is the truth.

Base on their history, the proximity to events and very words of Bandar bin Sultan himself we are certain that this massacre of the innocent Syrian people was to construct a caucus beli for military action against a sovereign nation. But this does not represent a singular event. Obama has cold-bloodedly murdered 243 children by drone strikes in several countries; he is certainly complicit in the murder of tens of thousands of Syrians as he supports the Saudi and Qatari sponsored Al-Queda, Takfiris terrorist groups in Syria. The planned, criminal, humanitarian, intervention he is now implementing will likely kill many more Syrians. He has already murdered thousands of Libyans and even a head of state, leaving that country in a deepening chaos. This is a continuing war crime. He has been complicit in the deaths of 1400 Palestinians during December 2008. This is the same Obama who refuses to call what is happening in Egypt a military coup and supports a regime that has slaughtered thousands of Brotherhood supporters. With Bandar’s help he removed a legitimate government, democratically elected but who were guilty only of a gross misreading of the geo-political circumstance. This is a military which is using weapons supplied by Obama to murder Egyptians daily, but there will not be any action against this junta, for these are empire’s henchmen.

Will a Western Led Coalition Attack Syria: What Will be the Likely Consequences?

Allegations continue to swirl that Syria used chemical weapons against its own people

Allegations continue to swirl that Syria used chemical weapons against its own people

It would appear that the United States of America will lead a coalition, which will attack Syria because of allegations that Syria used chemical weapons against its own people.  US Secretary of State John Kerry in an emotional speech has said it is undeniable that there was large scale indiscriminate use of chemical weapons in Syria by the Assad regime and for this there must be accountability.

As I write a definite decision has not been taken or if it has the public has not been told – we can no doubt expect President Obama to have his say in a matter of days.  However, if I have read the mood music correctly, the record is now playing to a logical conclusion.

How will Russia, China and most importantly Iran, allies of Syria in this “situation” up to now, respond?

This action if taken has the potential to launch a fire-ball in the Middle East and we should also note that this action is not dependent on a UN sanction.

How will this action play out and where will it lead?  On BU (Barbados Underground) we are often ahead of the game.  On this one at least when it blows,  it will be in our sights.

Egypt – In the Service of the Great Shatan

Supporters of Mr Morsi marched to the headquarters of the Republican Guard, where they believe he is being held

In this article we will argue that despite the best efforts of the peoples of the planet we are all being brought to the service of the Prince of Darkness. To us, it matters not whether we you are Christian, Jew, Muslim – whether you are Buddhist, Hindu or Xango. It matter not whether you are anarchist, socialist or democrat. It matters not that you are monarchist, republican or globalist. It matters not whether you live in Barbados, Egypt or Syria. It matters not whether you live between the two rivers of Iraq, Afghanistan, Europe, North American, Africa or the Islands of the Caribbean. Whatever you are, where ever you are, ‘Shatan’ has its clinched iron fist firmly on your short and curly.

The evolving events in Egypt demonstrate that the ‘biggest Shatan’ is particularly cunning. It (he) has succeeded in dividing the Egyptian people in formations which are unhelpful to either side and merely serves its grander interests of divide and rule to maintain empire. Shatan, in the person of the United States is backing both sides in this contrived crisis. They have long supported the Muslim Brotherhood and indeed if we measure the performance of Morsi it will be clear that he pressurized the Palestinians more that Mubarak, destroyed more tunnels used to convey good to Gaza and supported the Takfari/Salafist/Wahabbi extremists in Syria and elsewhere – all this under the false flag of being the leader of an Islamist government. Morsi refused the demands of the ‘revolution’ for ending relationships with Israel, was obeisant to the destructive Washington Consensus policies that since 1991 have left a country that was once totally food secure on the brink of starvation. Morsi humbled the Great Egyptian nation to the conditionalities of the IMF and the World Bank, as agents of Shatan. He belittled a great nation by presenting its beggar’s bowl to the backward Qataris and Saudis, moneyed but useful idiots.  Together these represent the major forces at work in a Western plot to destabilize and maybe partition Egyptian territory and for that matter to reshape the world to secure empire’s survival. South Sudan is a case study but they will be many more.

Another Strategic Defeat for Global Arrogance

Submitted by Pachamama
War in Syria continues

War in Syria continues

While Caribbean peoples are deeply engaged in an ever increasing battle for meagre economic survival, events half way around the world may have more to do with outcomes than any expected amelioration in the steadily deteriorating circumstances of Western capitalism. As we write the Syrian army and their Hezbollah counterparts, buttressed by support of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI), Russia and to a lesser extent China are completing mopping up operations not far from the Lebanese border (al-Qusayr) and elsewhere. Even Obama and his ‘international community’ are less vocal with their illegitimate but central demand that the prospective victor in this Western led conspiracy against a sovereign state, Bashar Assad, be removed from office – logic turned on its head.  The West is on the verge of losing all influence in what they have called the ‘Middle East’. We are persuaded that America’s decline in the Middle East has accelerated since 9/11 and the influence of other actors, like the IRI, China and Russia has markedly increased.  On the other hand the Americans and Europeans have loss several of their clients states and will in short order loose Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and more. This will mean not only a loss of strategic control of the regions oil reserves but will extend to the removal of America’s cat’s paw (Israel) from the region. These will represent a seismic shift in Great Game politics. The events in Syria can be seen as an historical moment. This is a moment not dissimilar to the period after World War Two when as a ‘presumed’ victor, the USA, through the CIA, pressured the British out of the Caribbean and elsewhere. So Caribbean ‘independence’ was and is merely a function of Great Game politics. The same will happened again, in reverse.

In the war on Syria the West has been revealed as an ally of al-Qaeda, a group they sometimes call a terrorist organization. It is this very USA government which gave birth to al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda was from the beginning a CIA/Saudi/Zionist project. The evidence presented by Sibel Edmond is unassailable. Recent USA actions in Syria confirm her findings.  They have armed them, given them chemical weapons and diplomatic coverage for more than two (2) years in spite of a long list of war crimes committed by their terrorist proxies. Obama has long decided that the USA is only able to fight ‘smart wars’.

The Middle East Revisited: Islamism Based On a Cult of Murderous Violence

Submitted by Charles Knighton

Middle East continues to be the flash point – Israel Hamas Conflict

And so it begins anew. After months of provocation, Israel strikes back against Hamas, only to be almost universally condemned as the aggressor. As I pen this letter (Nov. 17) how this latest drama will evolve is unknown, though I am certain it will not take long for the wilfully naive to again claim all Israel needs to do is return occupied land in order for peace to reign supreme. Unfortunately, those calling the shots in the Middle East and North Africa are groups I would refer to as Islamofascists who view Israel as a whole as occupied land.

Any student of history must see that there is something horribly familiar about today’s Islamist movement. Like the fascism of Hitler, Mussolini and Franco, Islamism is based on a cult of murderous violence that exalts death and destruction and despises the life of the mind. Both are bitterly nostalgic for past empires and lost glories and bent on avenging various historical humiliations at the hands of inherently inferior outsiders. The Islamists, like the Nazis, have a particular loathing of Jews, homosexuals and women. And for Islamists, as for fascists, the ultimate goal is to establish a vast, unconquerable territory—a “caliphate” the Jihadists call it—where their power and ideology will reign unchallenged.

Pending Apocalypse Maybe!

The increasing aggressive rhetoric emanating from Moscow has raised the the temperature in the Middle East. Many are wondering if we are about to witness  the beginning of World War III, and the Apocolyptic scenario, as described in the Bible. The following is reproduced From Jerusalem Connection Report blog

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev

After deploying three warships in Syrian waters, Moscow continues to beat war drums against the United States followed closely by Tehran. Wednesday, Nov. 23, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev told state television: “I have ordered the armed forces to develop measures to ensure if necessary that we can destroy the command and control systems” of the planned US missile-defense system in Europe. These measures are appropriate, effective and low-cost.”

Iranian Supreme Leader’s top advisor for military affairs Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi came next. He said: “The Iranian Revolutionary Guards controls the identity and destination of every US warship which intends to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.”
