Is the UK a Failed State?

Submitted by Tee White

After nearly 400 years plundering wealth from countries in every corner of the world, in 2019, the United Kingdom government is unable to ensure that all its citizens have access to such a basic human right as adequate food. See the report below from CNN. In November last year, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights stated about the UK, “14 million people, a fifth of the population, live in poverty. Four million of these are more than 50% below the poverty line, and 1.5 million are destitute, unable to afford basic essentials. The widely respected Institute for Fiscal Studies predicts a 7% rise in child poverty between 2015 and 2022, and various sources predict child poverty rates of as high as 40%.  For almost one in every two children to be poor in twenty-first century Britain is not just a disgrace, but a social calamity and an economic disaster, all rolled into one”. See a link to the full report below.

This social disaster in the 5th largest capitalist economy in the world is a direct result of the application of  austerity programmes based on neo-liberal economic dogmas. If these dogmas can have such a devastating effect on a large economy such as the UK’s, what does anyone think their impact will be on a small, distorted economy such as ours?

Julian Assange Provokes Ecuador United Kingdom Standoff

Julian Assange of Wikileaks fame

You need to be aware that there is a legal base in the UK, the Diplomatic and Consular Premises Act 1987, that would allow us to take actions in order to arrest Mr Assange in the current premises of the Embassy.

“We sincerely hope that we do not reach that point, but if you are not capable of resolving this matter of Mr Assange’s presence in your premises, this is an open option for us.

The Telegraph

The unprecedented support which Julian Assange continues to muster from ordinary citizens across the world makes for interesting study. As a blogger BU empathize with Assange and wish him well.

The threat by the United Kingdom to invoke a law to trespass on what is usually regarded as hallowed ground confirms that the First World powers will not allow Assange to slip through a loophole without baring its muscle.  Ecuador can look forward to a battle. Let us hope it has a David ending.

The Blitz: An Inferno On The Streets Of Britain – Why Modern Politicians Do Not Address The Structural Problems Of Poverty, Marginalization, Disenfranchisement & Crime

London has experienced three nights of rioting and unrest

In 1940/1, the German Luftwaffe bombed in the first of the big air raids on London the industrial areas and docklands mainly, in the East End of London. The city went up in smoke. Since Saturday night, August 5th rioting, looting and arson across many boroughs of London has brought the city to brink of another blitz. For [3] nights in a row, London has been burning as arsonists, anarchists and agitators loot, ransack and destroy homes and property in a systematic wave of violence and provocation.

Prime Minister David Cameron cut short his Tuscany holiday to return to Britain this morning to chair in the war room the COBRA* Emergency Committee meeting to devise a strategy to deal with what the news media are calling another BLITZ.

But is it little too late to curb the subterrrean social seismology which is affecting British High Streets as roving pacts of youths and vigilantes battle in an effort to wreak mayhem, havoc, social discord and to bring about environmental dilapidation?

What are the real systemic issues which has now shocked a country into asking why?

Under The INFLUENCE Of The Colonial Wig

UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THE COLONIAL WIG, fighting political wars for THE OVER-SEER POSITION on Massa plantation.

What is the best way to end the constant slave rebellions?” the slave owners asked “His Holiness” their spiritual advisor, and the answer was:  “Educate them on the lie that slavery and colonialism are things of the past, and they will get the unspoken message that there is no need to continue the struggle for collective freedom and African liberation any more.” – Read More
