  3. Sorry for the bad cut and paste David.

Wonder what they are going to pay Gayle next season.

  4. @Hants

He is already highly paid, IF RCB wins then he may be able to make greater demand.

  5. @Hants

NR on pole with LH lagging…?

Have you seen AR in the IBL this morning?

  6. @David,

Glad to see Lewis chasing. Let’s see if Nico can handle the pressure. Tire wear may come into play making Vettel a threat.

IPL has magic $$$ that makes our guys perform. Russel was brutal this morning. Narine also got 4 wickets.

The Indian fans love our guys.

  7. Sammy can’t get a look in at RCB.

Has Kevin Cooper dropped off the radar?

Note Moores was booted and in comes Strauss.

    Signs and wonders.

  8. Perfect race for Nico.

Good second for Lewis considering poor pit stops and team orders at the end to be conservative.

Meanwhile West Indians continue to shine in the IPL. Simmons and Pollard batted well today.

  9. Pollard to Chawla, no run, and another slower ball, and another swing and miss. He came down the track this time, but again the angle across him, and the lack of pace, defeated his across-the-line swish. What a final over from Pollard”

“Polly has been in that situation before. It was a gamble, but looking at his body language, his confidence, I knew I could throw him the ball and he would do the job.”

Not good enough for West Indies but a star in IPL. The magic$$$ working David.lol

Campbell sacked: Whatsapp message puts coach out of job

    Published: Wednesday, May 13, 2015

    Sherwin Campbell

Long serving West Indies women’s cricket coach Sherwin Campbell, conspicuously absent from the team currently campaigning in round three of the ICC Women’s Championship in Sri Lanka, has been sacked by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB)

Campbell who was instrumental in the rise of the West Indies women into the top half of the international women’s rankings over the last seven years, has been replaced by fellow Barbadian Vasbert Drakes, the former West Indies allrounder.

Campbell allegedly sent a private message via Whatsapp to a senior member of the team in which another senior player was the subject of much discussion. However, the discussion was relayed to a  member of the WICB who found the coach’s message and discussion to be in poor taste.

A source close to the situation said Campbell never intended the message to go past the person to whom it was sent.

“Sherwin was having what he thought was a private conversation with someone and shared his views about a senior member of the team and the person sent the message to the WICB official. The message was then taken to the WICB and after investigating they thought that it would not be wise to have Campbell coach the team at this point in time.”

Under Campbell’s reign, the West Indies became one of the top women’s team and received lots of attention on the world stage.

He enjoyed a good relationship with the WICB and the players, but according to the source after seven years, there was definitely going to be issues that would crop up. “However, this one was probably not dealt with in the best manner by Campbell and he paid the ultimate price.”

Campbell played 52 Tests, scored 2,882 runs at an average of 32.38 and a best of 208. He also featured in 90 ODIs, scoring 2283  runs at an average of 26.24 and a best of 105.

Drakes who has taken over has the experience of working with the Barbadian women’s team and has been touted as a good coach by his peers. His first assignment is the ICC Women’s Championship which is a multi-year, bilateral competition between the top eight international women’s sides that will lead to qualification for the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup to be hosted by the England & Wales Cricket Board.

The West Indies women, meantime, will be matching skills with Sri Lanka in a series of four matches, starting today with the last three, counting as qualifiers for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017.

  11. What is up with all this contentious bs in Babadus?

“AROUND 400 schoolboy cricketers didn’t get a chance to bat, bowl or field yesterday as the Barbados Association of Principals of Public Secondary Schools (BAPPSS) boycotted the first day of the new cricket season.

  12. @Hants

As Pacha will attest the inability to resolve issues in one aspect of life will obviously permeate all others.

  13. There is probably better leadership on de block than among the so called leaders of Bajan society.

  14. @ Hants
There is probably better leadership on de block than among the so called leaders of Bajan society.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    Unquestionably!
We have implemented and perfected a system that identifies, nurtures and promotes lackies and ass-lickers to leadership, while condemning TRUE natural leadership to the blocks, ZR culture and the underworld…..That is why Cave Hilary got his Sir….
The only shiite that thrives bout here now therefore are these anti-social activities.

    Check out the ZR industry……
..High taxes imposed by a BLACK government
..EXTREMELY low fares imposed by a BLACK government
    ..Old equipment…
    ..hundreds of court dates
..Ongoing harassment (many do shiite, but if any of us received that level of attention from the police we would have similar records)
…..and yet they continue to make money and survive…

While the Transport Board is broke and looking to “work with the ZR people” in partnership….

  15. Who is in charge anyway?

First the teachers work to rule, now it’s the Principals turn, the common denominator are the students who are caught in the middle of these interminable disputes. It seems that to many people the only course of action in resolving issues is through Industrial action.

There is a failure of leadership at all levels in Barbados, the saying “head aint brains” has never been more appropriate.

  16. The question must be asked then what is the purpose of education and boasting of high literacy if we cant solve our problems.

    Lewis signed for 3 years.

    Monaco should be exciting.

  18. @hants

Why did he take s long to sign, thinking about Ferrari maybe?

  19. @ David,

“Lewis probably wanted to make sure he would get the best possible deal and get rid of any “contentious issues.”

Hope he and Nico have “equally good cars” and good pit stops this weekend.

  20. @Sargeant

Why would he aspire to be a fighter having witnessed Ali degenerate to a ‘matter’?

  21. @David

At that age they are all invincible, perhaps he believes he should try to maintain a family legacy. Incidentally May 25th will be the 50th anniversary of the second Ali/Liston fight (can’t believe I listened to that fight must be catching up to Bush, Miller OOB etc.) the fight that launched the “phantom punch” and the photo that some claim is one of the greatest in Sports history.

You stated that “Monaco should be exciting.” Are you sure? The road track in Monaco should have no place in F1 as it does not constitute a genuine race due to the nature of the track.

Monaco is known for her glamour, I spent a day there some 20 years ago and felt like a vagrant, a hobo and a bum. It is a stunning part of the world.

Unfortunately Monaco has now been overrun with Russian oligarchs/mafia scum.

Lewis Hamilton is the only character significant to F1. Hated and ridiculed by the UK media and his co-drivers. Here we have a negro prince who had the audacity to trample over the F1 class tradition. A man who did not require a manager to negotiate his own contract. A trend setter for the negro race to embrace.

    http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/may/22/how-did-lewis-hamilton-land-100m-f1-contract

Hants I thought that you would have been more interested in Indy car racing.

  23. Monaco is a unique track which test the skills of drivers in different way. The driver who risk pushing in the bends and get it wrong have the barriers to contend and not grass.

  24. Follow the F1 on the link below.

David you are making sport. What bends, what! You mean those traffic controllers!

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/formula1/32537509

  25. @Exclaimer

The uniqueness of Monaco puts the pressure on drivers to make qualifying count because success demands a finish in the top two grids. During the race the barriers come into play. It calls for intelligence!

  26. @ David,

I like Monaco because as you wrote it requires intelligence and skill more than “bravery”.

On another not, I just got back from watching “Guyanese” cricket. They use 4 stumps instead of 3 and bowl underarm with a soft ball.
    It was fun to watch.

  27. @Hants

Not to forget the role the weather plays temperature included. You should have recorded or snapped a picture to share.

  28. @David,

    Hants conspiracy theory. lol

Sign Lewis for 3 years to prevent him from going to another team.

Use every opportunity to make Nico the #1 driver at Mercedes.

That “mistake” was the first “opportunity”.

Lewis will have to “play nice ” to earn that £100 million.

  29. @Hants

It was a rookie mistake to call LH to the pit.

  30. @ David,

Let us hope they don’t make a rookie mistake with his brakes.

  31. TRAINING SQUAD.

  40. Just padding his retirement fund. Too bad he is no longer good enough for west indies cricket.

  41. Another Gayle force.

“Chris Gayle followed his 92 against Essex with something even more spectacular at Taunton”

“He struck 10 fours and 15 sixes in an unbeaten 151 off 62 balls. ”

“Matthew Maynard, the Somerset coach, said: “I thought Sam Northeast played a sensational innings, but then the World boss came in and it’s different gravy. However, good Sam’s innings was it just pales a little bit. But that’s what Chris can do.”

Not good enough for West Indies. Hoping for a CDNPL in Toronto before he retires.

  42. Anybody want to comment on the piss poor Australian batting.

shows why you pick experienced men with hard earned experience

    voges
over a hundred games and over 10, 000 and approaching a hundred on test debut

  44. @Hants

The WI performance yesterday in Test cricket is consistent with what has been happening for the last decade with or without the stars. At some point we have to bite the bullet and try something different. Have we not been ranked above Bangladesh and Zimbabwe for many years? Only the most diehard fan expects WI to beat Australia.

It s the selectors prerogative to drop Chandepaul, our concern is whether there was an approach to treat him fairly cognizant of his tremendous contribution.

    >

  45. Voges is the only Australian batsman to score more than 25.

Now West Indies bowlers are letting the number 9 partnership to build a good score.

Glad I have Tennis and Formula 1 to entertain me.
