One of the enduring characteristics of politicians is that many of them will promise anything to woo the support of the electorate they have sworn to serve. Often times the public because of partisan blindness, a flawed governance system or complacency allows promises made to go unfulfilled. The objective of this space therefore is to give you, the PEOPLE, a chance to record promises made by public servants (and others) thereby facilitating a mechanism where we can have active follow up.

    Barbadians who listeed to the VOB talk show yesterday heard Dale Marshall echo his committment on behalf of the BLP to Corruption Legislation. Kudod to Wickham for forcing the issue. We will be monitoring should the BLP win the government.

    Do you have a link to the public confirmation given by the PM to the CLICO policyholders that hid government will ensure that they get back at least the principal portion of their investments?

    I believe he made that commitment some time in October / November last year in one of his walkabouts preparing the campaign trail.

    I believe Stuart made a similar reconfirmation of his government’s commitment to the CLICO policyholder as recently as in the last quarter of 2012 during one of his campaigning walkabouts.
    Now you see why the miller a serious beef with the integrity of this man. It’s nothing personal but only based on his utterances both in Parliament and in public spaces.
    Utterances that are diametrically at odds with a man of integrity, sharp intellect, political acumen or even commonsense. But everyone has his or her human weakness to equalize us all to Life’s LCD.

    OSA’s might be his ‘spirited’ demons that Rev. Jones could exorcise but Freundel’s seems to a congenital incurable case of political foot-in-mouth disease daily spreading like an aggressive prostate cancer.

    Have you seen today’s Sunday Sun (Feb 17 2013)? Are Bajans really serious about what happens to our country? Owen Arthur lost the last election after 14 successful years of growing our economy all because persons thought he was out of touch with Bajans and wanted change, and now Freundel Stuart’s administration may win after directly putting certain unnecessary policies in place which have directly lead to the worst economy Barbados has had in 2 decades and no willingness to change direction! We must be mad! Bajan’s are being taxed to death in order to prop up our ailing economy, a strategy that is neither sustainable nor can achieve the economic growth we need to get out of this mess.

    Are people really studying the reality on the ground? For 5 years now the DLP have blamed the previous administration and global recession for everything that’s wrong with the Barbados economy, and have not been able to do anything to fix it, and now all of a sudden they have the answer??? I don’t know about you but with rising cost of living (Largely due to excessive, tax increases imposed by the DLP administration), increasing national unemployment and increasing government wastage (cost for constituency councils, ineffective government jobs, etc) is more than adequate justification not to re-elect the DLP and give the BLP a chance to repair what is now broken, just like they did successfully after the departure of previous prime minister Erskine Sandiford.

    After 4 years thousands of Pension policy holders caught up in the Clico, British American debacle are still awaiting relief and justice something this current administration has seen fit to ignore and drag its feet on after the judicial report has been out for well over a year. In this they have proven how little they care about the middle class persons that have been hurt while trying to avoid dependence on the NIS / government for their welfare after retirement.

    Has anyone also not noticed that on the DLP’s website dlpbarbados.org where they boast their own performance in a 2008-2012 report http://www.dlpbarbados.org/site/dlp-performance-2008-2012/, access to the original 2008 manifesto is nowhere to be found on the entire website, for the public to read and make up their own minds regarding the DLP’s performance. Is that not curious? I would just not that on the BLP’s website not only do they have their loosing manifesto from 2008, but they also still have up their 2003 manifesto for the public to read and judge their 2003-2008 performance for THEMSELVES.

    Undecided independents – Please take my words to heart, decide for yourself what direction you want for our country over the next 5 years, more of the same or at least a hope of something better, then get out on Thursday and vote. BLP supporters don’t lag like last time, there is too much at stake for our country this time around, get out and vote!

    Less than a year ago (pre-general election) the government assured Barbadians education for nationals would remain free. This week Minister of Education Ronald Jones hinted that government will have to reverse this position.

    Barbados re-assure free university education for nationals

    BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – The Barbados government has given an assurance that university education would remain free to nationals even as it noted a significant increase in financial contributions to the University of the West Indies (UWI) in recent years.
    Finance and Economic Affairs Minister, Chris Sinckler, addressing supporters of the ruling Democratic Labour Party (DLP) Sunday night, said that Prime Minister Freundel Stuart will meet with UWI officials to discuss outstanding arrears, estimated at more than 100 million dollars (One Barbados Dollar = US.50 cents) owed to the university with campuses in Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.
    Sinckler said that Stuart administration would meet “every possible commitment” to the nationals attending the UWI, adding “there is no person or institution or political party in this country that can challenge or contradict the absolute commitment of the Democratic Labour Party to public education in this country”.

    As time changes humans change also. Maybe at this point in time you’re probably asking yourself what am I talking about. Well this time we are facing is a time of great change, not only in this economy(external), but our very lives and paths are being worked upon by something much higher than some of our very consciousness can comprehend. The ancients knew about this time and we never listened we only learn to embrace external things and forgot the knowledge that god and our great forefathers bestowed upon us and in so doing destroyed, instead of developing our divinity, but please don’t get me wrong there’s nothing wrong with external things but the more you turn a blind eye to the things of god, that supernatural energy is always there to take it away from you until you find the true way to connect to him. I am a westerner but I have many eastern beliefs that holds true. Remember we have two types of laws (manmade and supernatural) you have a choice to follow the two at a well balanced level or continue solely to embrace the delusion to your heart and soul to a point when it goes away you want to go away with it. Remember god has the power to put who he want’s as leader in this golden age or age of spirituality where divinity supersedes or overrides the external.

    DLP promised that tertiary education would remain free. In Budget 2013 this was policy was reversed.

    I am happy for the first time to read a comment of great truth,god’s time in the earth, man’s time is over. the cosmic forces have taken over the affairs of the earth, and man is powerless to intervene . a new day dawns, man is dealing with a force be on his comprehension, to those who make money and position their god’s, the will of god must be done. man does not known the will of god. he has failed and failed merisiably . where is his love for his fellow man, they are servants of the people. i remember Errol Barrow and James a Tudor talking about doing something for the youth of Barbados in 1984, that something must be done. a task for for unemployment was set up, that document has never seen the light of day, after the death of Errol Barrow,i have asked time and time again about it to no avail, Mascol, Sandiford, Craston Brown, no on seem to know, Thompson, my daughter said to me, mummy stop worrying, who cares. i saw this coming back in the 80’s. James Tudor cried, before he died, his words were, man has created these conditions for himself, where is the love, for one’s fellowman, god is no respector of person, the cleansing will take place. Fire, Air, Water, and wind. this is the day that the rich and the poor will die together. where is the love in the decision making. no person is to be left behind. god’s justice will flow down like the waters cover the sea. Earth changes. They will rant and rave,it all about Love and unity and the blessing will flow, get in the divine flow. Mohammed, watching since1975. let justice flow down as the waters cover the sea.     First let me say that I have warned many individuals about their individual personal lives and the way how they are dealing with their very lives which even include decision making. Some of these individuals listened while others everything just fell on deaf ears. The ones who listened will stand a chance to be liberated at this time if they begin to seek their individual destiny, in that, divine energy is highly intelligent and will know one’s willingness to go forward by divine means (once you begin seeking the rest of the answers will follow),still everyone who listens don’t always know where to start their divine venture and put it off until and wait until their so called lives begin to crumble. The one who does not listened carry on their road of ignorance and stupidity, but please don’t take me literally. Ignorance can portray itself even in the way we think, the things we believe and don’t believe, the people who we give our utmost creditability to even though they don’t deserve or need it, the important things in life which we turn a blind eye to .which forms part of our human nature. This TIME in itself is very significant and we need to begin to try seeking and beginning to understand it, in that, the answers to the questions which you seek will not be found in any manifesto or portfolio of any sort, since this means nothing within the supernatural or astral world its just a piece of document(PHYSICAL OR MATTER) it will not hold up in this TIME (just like everything else of this nature) without SPIRITUALITY.I will not share my knowledge with anyone at this time since my time for that has gone because my energies are now being used to elevate myself since many many doors are beginning to open up around me right now in a miraculous manner regardless of what is happening that does not apply to me right now. Remember what surrounds you you are fully responsible for, take control of your destiny.

    We also read recently that one of the major financiers in the new Andrews Sugar factory, is threatening to pull out by June , if the Barbados Government does not honour its commitment in putting its promised share into the kitty.

    “Coppin explained that if persons experienced a loss of Title Deeds for any reason, the Land (Title Deeds Restoration) Act allowed the document to be restored.

    “The presumption is that all documents relative to land should have a copy in the Land Registry. So, in respect of the restoration of that document, an application is made to have the Deed restored. The person making the application would get the copy from here, have it certified and make an application,” he stated.”

    What was it accredited for? Its medical research? Its patient care? The quality of its medical and nursing staff? Stop falling for nonsense. The test of the quality of the QEH must be its patient care; reducing the waiting time in A&E. What about medical negligence?
