The following is shared (unedited) by a concerned family member of the late Mel Harding – Blogmaster

“…for they know not what they did”
DEATH AT BARBADOS’ MAIN HOSPITAL

The shocking truth about Mel Harding’s sudden death at Queen Elisabeth Hospital Barbados.
Barbados and the world lost a great man and outstanding citizen: Mel A. Harding, only 58 years old.
Top manager of the Crane Resort, Pioneer of Recycling in the Caribbean, father of internationally known musicians/filmmaker Jermaine and Jamar Harding and husband of Denise Harding, originally from Switzerland and married to Mel for 35 years.
He was admitted to the Emergency Department of Queen Elisabeth Hospital by Ambulance and diagnosed with a bleeding in the brain. He was put in a coma and after 2 days in intensive care he passed away. Had the family not requested an autopsy and engaged 3 medical specialists to study all medical records, the real reason of death would not be known. It would be recorded as just another case of: “death due to complications of a stroke”.

    Three points.
    1. It is amazing that the comment “Great posts by GP and Donna” went right by you.

    It was not meant as an insult. As you are already a prolific contributor, other bloggers (like myself) wonder about the number of the posts that were ‘tek dung’. In fact, so as to properly estimate the volume, I will urge the blogmaster not to “tek dung” your posts.

    Given that you took offense at that comment, I must now tell Waru that the number of posts she makes is her business and not mine.

    My comment about lawyers in this case was not for their medical opinion. This case may be headed to the court and it would be best if the QEH statements were prepared and vetted by medical and legal team. Having a PR person actin as the lone ranger may be a prescription for a disaster,

    Needless, to say, I wish you well.

    BU is the last place to go for sympathy, sensitivity or agreement with your reasoning for the situation.

    BU is where you come to hear the unvarnished opinions of others based on the information you have provided. You will hear various sides and scenarios outside of what you, your lawyer or expert advisers put forward.

  4. Why are we that naïve about the role of admin at the QEH facilitating a resolution to this matter? It does not mean non medical staff will inform content of any communication, it means as in the case at any well run organization the process is managed by involving relevant actors technicians and non technical.

  5. actually GP we do…. he was taken to the hospital in distress…I have been at many first response calls and have yet to see someone put in a coma for a blood clot in legs….I am not a doctor so you would know better. What I do know is when someone dies especially prematurely people go through many emotions shock sadness disbelief but eventually they get angry , and it can be all consuming. I have had some bad experiences with the QEH with family and friends but you would have to believe that the staff dont do their best with the resources they have . I believe they do, do they get everything perfect of course not it doesnt happen, Hopefully the family will get some answers .

    It would be nice for a greater outreach from the QEH in circumstances like this when the party feels something has gone wrong but the best approach is always to go with a boilerplate ‘Sorry for your loss’ type of statement that strikes a balanced approach.

    When it comes to death especially an unexpected one, grief clouds one’s judgement and people can and will take advantage of that weakness to make a buck from that impaired judgment and the desire for retribution because of that loss.

    Outside of pushing for an independent autopsy and suing if there was grave malpractice, it is always best to let it go, seek grief counseling and try to move on with your life or the fight for retribution will probably take your life or money or both sooner than you think.

  8. @CA

    People react differently in moments of grief.

    The family brought the matter into the public domain.
    So the public comments.
    I extend my condolences to the family.
    But the note we received here does not provide enough information for us to know whether or not the patient received optimum treatment.
    As well as GP’s sensible questions and lawson’s comments as one who has attended emergencies; in order to comment sensibly i would want to know whether or not the patient had a previous personal history, or a family history of clotting disorders, I would want to know about his parents, siblings, and grandparents at a minimum. I would want to know if he smoked or if he encountered second smoking at home or on his job? I would want to know if he worked in a sedentary job? If is exercised regularly, sporadically or not at all? I would want to know if he had recently had surgery? I would want to know if he had traveled long distances recently. A cousin’s wife of middle years and apparently healthy came one Sunday morning to wish us goodbye on her way back to England [she was white English born if that matters] the day after she arrived back in England she died of a clotting disorder. The excellent UK NHS could not save her. It is know that long periods of sitting [as happens during long distance flights can induce clots in some people

    Never the less i can understand the family’s distress as I too have lost a young family member [traffic accident] and the sudden death or a young or youngish family member is incredibly hard to bear. But sometimes nobody is at fault.

    I gone bosie. It is getting hard to remain suitably empathetic. Just know that I often make fun of the fact that I am fewer than twenty years from our average life expectancy.

    Are you EVER able to up you game above mediocre? How does the fact (agreed) that shit happens all over the world detract from an analysis of what the root issue is, and how it relates to Barbados? (Bushie cares NOT about you or your Babylonian domicile).

    One gets the impression that your idea of Utopia is measured by what your ‘albino hosts’ are able to achieve….
    Well NOT stinking Bushie.

    Enlightened HUMAN BEINGS DO have the capacity to build a decent, successful, caring society, that is built on LOVE and respect. However this is NOT POSSIBLE on a foundation of greed and brassbowlery as has been established by your albino mentors.

    Amazingly, Pacha’s Ancient African Philosophy, with its community-centric focus, DOES have the capacity to achieve such results – except for the propensity of brass Bowls to become addicted to the greed and counterproductive idiocy that YOU (and most others) always use as your ‘standard’ for achievement.
    Hopefully some day your eyes will be opened…

    @ GP
    This issue, as far as Bushie is concerned, is PURELY about professional conduct and SERVICE. The chap probably died (like numerous others over the past two years) from blood clotting issues. We should get accustomed to this new reality…. since only CA seem willing to investigate the cause…
    The QEH and staff do have admirable intentions, and set high ideals, however it takes TOP QUALITY professional expertise to convert this into high quality SERVICE. Go and observe the new Casualty and report to BU….
    Installing shiitehound lackies on policy making Boards represents a clear path to shoddy RESULTS. Obviously if you get flawed decisions at the very TOP, the dog will die – despite the best of intent…. apparently this is NOT so obvious….!

    So can you revert and respond to the original question, thank you!

  14. GP thats what I mean he didnt go to the hospital for something simple this was serious for them to induce a coma. You are totally correct there isnt enough information to say what or why but that can be for different purposes. Maybe the hospital is not getting the information out as they know it quick enough, or as cudhear said opportunists prey on tragedy and peoples emotions.. The family and their grief always seems to get lost in the blame game because the person is never coming back. I would say be wary of initially free advice they dont call them ambulance chasers for nothing.

    SO FAR WE DO NOT KNOW THIS FROM THE AVAILABLE EVIDENCE
    REMEMBER JOHN 7:24

  16. UK data uncovered
    Doctors and nurses are exhausted and the Health Service is crying out for renewal
    How many avoidable deaths are there in the Health Service every week?
    In UK there are 150 avoidable deaths per week.
    What figure should we aim for? Zero.
    Zero: eliminating unnecessary deaths in a post pandemic Health Service

  17. Wait, just a minute, just a minute. If the poor dying gentleman was in bed prostrate, why the need for compression socks? I wear them and when I lie down, I take them off and put my feet on a cushion. You are not supposed to sleep in them. They are prescribed if you have the symptoms and are diagnosed with circulation problems. The prescription gives the level of compression and they have to be ordered. Off the shelf do not work for real, real problems.

  18. DB is prostrate not lying down on your stomach, its been a while but I recall that they wanted the head elevated or at least the recovery position.for a brain bleed I am skeptical about wearing compression sox all the time it souds like it could cause a clot in my mind GP will know both answers

    Exactly! This is the place where you come to hear unvarnished opinions of others based on the information you have provided.

    In this case, there is insufficient information.

    What good would it do to add fuel to a fire that might simply consume the rest of the writer’s life UNLESS THERE IS GOOD CAUSE??????

    We are in no position to determine if there is good cause here.

  20. With so much sadness in the world it is mind-boggling how so.e in the BU intelligentsia find the time to be so harsh and negativity with those who seeking support during the grieving period

  21. I have had great concerns about the care at the QEH when my late mother was a patient there back in the early 1990s because she weren’t given the necessary care warranted for a patient with here medical condition at the time.
    But thank God that my younger sister advocated or insisted that my late mother be given the care that was necessary to her recovery, and she did ascertained that care, and recovered fully before her passing.

  22. My condolences to the family.

    We do have a way to go yet in many areas. For example we treat cancer here yet we have no PET scan on the island I am told. So after the treatment the only way one knows if they are indeed cancer free is to get on a plane and go to the USA, Canada or the UK and pay to have this test done. Yes I know many will say the machine is expensive but what did the destruction of the NIS building in town cost? What did the park that replaced it cost ? My point is we are the result of our own misplaced priorities.

  23. John A
    This PET Scan is important for detecting and implementing the best treatment for the diseases such as cancer, but it is time that we find a cure for cancer, because even with early detection of pancreatic, and certain kinds of aggressive breast and prostate cancer, particularly in Black folk, the survival rate is still next to none.

  24. John A

    Now maybe those with a better knowledge and understanding of prostate cancer can elaborate in more detail, but I came across a piece of medical literature on prostate cancer many years ago when my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer in his early 60s, but he is now 87, which seems to indicated that by the age of 80, most men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, but they will die from some other disease beside prostate cancer.

  26. The public needs to know

    THE QUEEN ELIZABETH HOSPITAL (QEH) has served Barbadians well over many decades but at the same time, has proven to be a very formidable business that is the bane of its own existence.
    The delivery of top-notch medical services easily accessible to all patients, private or public, has been under constant criticism, as has been the effective governance of the island’s main health care facility.
    As a publicly operated hospital, the QEH has been subjected to political directives over the years that have compounded its record of service.
    It has been beset by critical financial and human resource problems as well, resulting in a constant change in its leadership.
    It has not benefited from stable continuous guidance at the top certainly over the past three decades.
    There is no guarantee that things will change simply because of the assigning of Minister of State Dr Sonia Browne to have a special focus on the institution. Neither will the selection of a new board.
    Many Barbadians are cynical regarding the hospital’s management given the litany of complaints over many years from staff, unions and particularly the public.
    So there is no surprise that when the re-elected Barbados Labour Party administration’s new Minister of Health and Wellness, Ian Gooding-Edghill, announced that a reconstituted and expanded board of directors was being appointed, it did not create any public excitement.
    When he named the new board last week, the minister should also have disclosed whether the previous board met its performance targets
    and also outlined any gaps. Indeed, the public should be told when and who did any such assessment. Gooding-Edghill should also address the situation of the one person in two roles where Juliette Bynoe- Sutherland is executive chairman, meaning she is in effect also chief executive officer.
    The QEH does not have investors, other than the taxpayers, and does not have to report to its shareholders, the public, to defend its annual performance. There is no pressure to follow corporate governance best practices.
    While there is no law to guide this process, the overwhelming body of expert opinion points to the separation of powers at this level.
    Our situation is compounded by the absence of a regulatory body or economic circumstances to pressure the QEH into untangling the dual roles.
    The health minister should outline the measures in place to ensure the oversight role of the board over management is not diminished because of the dual roles being in the hands of one selected officer. He should also address concerns related to containing unchecked powers to avoid potential abuse.
    This situation raises the issue of the competencies and skills related to the QEH’s board role in enterprise risk management and whether there are already such strategies in place.
    The public should be told to whom Bynoe-Sutherland is accountable, and who evaluates her annual performance.

  28. As stated previously, the QEH has problems, some of them serious. Obviously, there is some substance in the position that the quality of its boards do have an impact on the delivery of service.

    Very recently, I read a comment from Dr. Cave, Director of Medical Services (I think) suggesting that the promised improvements to the response time at the A & E remain unrealised because the expansion of the facilities were not fit for the purpose. From his wry “tones” I got the impression that this had been pointed out to the powers that be and ignored. Seems like all we got was a more comfortable area in which to wait longer than would be necessary with an expansion of treatment facilities. He stated that such an expansion is in the works and this should alleviate the situation somewhat
    (even with insufficient personnel, testing capacity and ward space for transfer).

    Which made me wonder if we go to an A&E to wait comfortably or to receive treatment that makes us comfortable.

    Which “brassbowl” placed the cart in front of the horse?

    I would bet my last dollar it wasn’t a staff member of the A&E.

    Mindboggling that they should be overruled!

  29. The family believe the man’s death was avoidable, but will be tasked with making a case against the Hospital that is evidence based. It seems like the Hospital will be defending their position denying the process of discovery.

  30. The idea here is for the management of QEH to reach out to the family- if they have not already- to see if there is an opportunity satisfy their concerns.

  31. angela cox May 16, 2022 5:36 AM #: “Sad to say but you are carrying a heavy weight on your shoulders called angela Cox.”
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Far from it, my friend.
    But, let me remind that:
    (1) You’ve NEVER TAKEN the OPTION of NOT RESPONDING to my comments.
    (2). Any reasonable, rational, unbiased analysis of your contributions to BU over the years, would clearly indicate you have an ‘unhealthy obsession’ with Mia Mottley.
    In other words, you’ve demonstrated a persistent disturbing preoccupation with Mottley in 98% of those contributions, to the extent that you would either misrepresent, manipulate or ignore the truth to criticise her…..
    ……. or, find some way to BLAME her for everything and anything that ‘goes wrong’ in Barbados.
    Only a few days ago, for example, you ATTEMPTED to RESURRECT the ‘DEAD’ issue of Mottley illegally practicing law in Barbados because she does not have a LEC.
    Although that issue has been long RESOLVED and the original accusers have MOVED ON, you are DETERMINED to keep it ALIVE in your head.
    As such, I LIKEWISE conclude you’re SIMILARLY “carrying a heavy weight on your shoulders not only called Artax,” but Mia Amor Mottley as well.
    And, I ALSO “pray one day that God would give you the strength to rid yourself of TWO (2) weights which can wear you down and leave you tireless for no good reason.”
    Have a blessed and wonderful day, my friend.
  32. “…for the management of QEH to reach out to the family-“
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    How does that get be the major consideration David?
    Will they be doing this multiple times each day?

    The ROOT problem is that we are clearly not doing anywhere near to the best that we can, with the resources that we have.
    The reasons for this OBVIOUS fact, are incompetence and graft in high places,

    Never mind the clueless, lukewarm and un-initiated dribblers who are unable to rise above mediocrity. 🙂

    When you can disrupt the hospital for two years, build a multi-million dollar edifice, and end up exactly where you were before you started – it does not take a brain surgeon to deduce that incompetence at best, and graft at worse are at play.

    Extend this kind of ‘performance’ to the ongoing scam about specialists private practice at the QEH, staff selection, the ridiculous management of the nursing crisis, and the procurement of supplies …and guess how many times the executive director would have to be apologizing.

    lotta shiite!
    …but it is what you get if you are a brass bowl topsy.

    Reaching out to the family to placate them is routine, never suggested it touches the systemic.

    ARTAX
    YOU ARE CORRECT ABOUT ANGELA
    SHE IS DISSAPOINTED THAT I CONCENTRATED ON EXPLAINING THE MEDICINE INVOLVED RATHER THAN INSTEAD OF CRITICISING THE QEH AND THE BLP REGIME.

    AFTER THAT WE HEAR COMMENTERS TALKING ABOUT SOME ONE BRINGING BALANCE
    NO ONE ELSE SPEAKING ON THIS MATTER KNOWS THE RELEVANT MEDICINE, OR HAVE ACTUALLY SEEN RELEVANT CASES OR HAVE THE RELEVANT CLINICAL ACUMEN TO SERIOUSLY COMMENT ON THIS ISSUE

    THERE IS NO BALANCE TO BE BROUGHT HERE
    ANY ONE WITH COMMON SENSE THAT READ WHAT I WROTE OUGHT TO HAVE REALIZED THAT MY ANALYSIS OF THE CLINICAL AND MEDICAL ASPECTS OF THE MATTER WAS COMPREHENSIVELY AND CORRECTLY ADDRESSED.

    WHAT OCCURED IS NOT THE BLP OR HOSPITALS FAULT.

    RE The idea here is for the management of QEH to reach out to the family- if they have not already- to see if there is an opportunity satisfy their concerns.

    THIS IS CONCENTRATED BULLSHIT AS THIS IS NOT THE ROLE OF A HOSPITAL OR ITS MANAGEMENT
    PROPER HOSPITALS IN THE WORLD ARE MANAGED BY SKILLED MEDICAL PERSONEL NOT BY POLITICALLY APPOINTED MEDICAL ILLITERATES AND MORONS . WHO ARE UNABLE TO GRASP THE ISSUES AND SENSIBLY ARTICULATE THEM EVEN TO THE BIGGEST FOOL IN A SIMPLE ABC OR I23 WAY THAT CAN BE UNDERSTOOD, EVEN IF NOT ACCEPTED

    THE PROBLEM IN BARBADOS AS IS REFLECTED ON BU IS THAT EVERYONE THINKS THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO TALK SHITE BOUT THINGS ABOUT WHICH THEY KNOW NOTHING. THEY ARE ACTUALLY QUITE IGNORANT ABOUT MOST THINGS BUT THINK THEY KNOW.
    YOU WONT HEAR GP TALK ABOUT MATHEMATICS OR MATTERS ABOUT WHICH HE KNOWS NOTHING

    THIS ISSUE COULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED VERY SIMPLY

    I ONCE SAW A YOUNG WOMAN IN PUBLIC CLINIC THE DAY AFTER KADDOMENT DAY
    SHE HAD MARCHED FROM THE STADIUM TO SPRING GARDEN
    ON EXAMINATION I DIAGNOSED HER CORRECTLY AS MARCH FRACTURE, AND OFFERED HER ANALGESICS AND PUT HER ON LEAVE WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO STAY OF HER FEET, AND TO RETURN FOR FOLLOW UP.

    SHE WENT AND PAID HER MONEY ELSEWHERE AND GOT THE SAME DIAGNOSIS AFTER AGAIN PAYING HER MONEY FOR XRAYS OF THE AREA, AND PAYING TO HAVE HER FOOT PUT IN A CAST AND THEN PAYING MORE MONEY TO A LAWYER WHO WROTE ME.

    I PHOTOCOPIED THE RELEVANT INFORMATION FROM TWO TEXTBOOKS AND SENT TO THE LAWYER WITHOUT ANY COMMENT. I HEARD NO MORE ON THE MATTER.

    IN THE CASE UNDER CONSIDERATION THE HOSPITAL ADMINSTRATION WITH NO CLINAL ACUMEN OR KNOWLEDGE OF THE AETIOLOGY OF THE SITUATION COULD NOT POSSIBLY RESPOND PROPERLY, CAUSE THEY DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY.
    ONCE THE DRS HAVE RESPONDED POLITELY TO THE PATIENTS RELATIVES, ADMIN SHOULD ASK DOCTORS TO SUPPLY THEM WITH THE RELEVANT LITERATURE , AND HAVE IT READY TO GIVE IT TO THEIR LAWYERS.

    THE DRS THEMSELVES SHOULD THEN PREPARE TO RINSE OUT ANY MEDICAL ILLITERATE LAWYER WHO WOULD SEEK TO CROSS EXAMINE THEM IN A COURT—-AND DO SO WITH GREAT ARROGANCE.

  40. What Barbados needs is a brand new state of the art hospital with a qualified management team
    All else is throwing good money after an incurable situation analysis as the QEH
    This family at the heart of the issue along with other families have stated openly such problems
    This family might have the financial resources to take their problem through legal channels and might have decided to use social media as a staging platform to do so
    At the heart of this matter lies serious questions which no.one here can answer since the outline of what is being told in the post can be small explanations

    Do brand new state of the art buildings look after patients? Or are patients looked after by competent, doctors, nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists, cooks, orderlies, housekeepers etc.?

    Perhaps you have a friend, relative. political contact who is looking for a multi-billion contract to build a “brand now state of the art hospital” with plenty of steal in dey?

    MOST OF WHAT YOU SAY IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT

    EXCEPT Extend this kind of ‘performance’ to the ongoing scam about specialists private practice at the QEH,
    PLEASE TELL US HOW YOU WILL GET AND KEEP SOLID SENIOR STAFF WITHOUT CERTAIN PRIVILIGES AND HOW THIS IS A SCAM. THESE CHAPS ACTUALLY WORK………..QUITE UNLIKE THE POLITICIANS AND FOLK ON THE VARIOUS AND SUNDRY BOARDS WHO GET PERKS….BUT ESSENTIALLY DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AS LONG AS THEY JUST BOW TO THOSE WHO APPOINTED THEM

  43. RE “What Barbados needs is a brand new state of the art hospital.”
    YES SIMPLE SIMON YOU ARE 100% CORRECT WHEN YOU ASK ….Do brand new state of the art buildings look after patients? Or are patients looked after by competent, doctors, nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists, cooks, orderlies, housekeepers etc.?

    TELL THE CERTIFIED MORON THAT SOME OF THE BEST HOSPITALS IN THE WORLD ARE OVER 100 YEARS OLD

  44. Last/last

    RE: “You certainly is no position or authority to tell me what how and where my comments should be stated when it comes to the goverance of Barbados or any other matters.”

    Likewise to you as well.
    You must recognize I also have a right to comment on anything you post to this public forum, “whether u like my comments opinions or not.”
    “Let that comment stick in your craw like all others.”

    RE: “Imagine early this morning u fly off the fence with a blatant lie about comments in regards to your family time of grievance and things which u perceive I said.”

    You’re the liar here….. the proof of which can be found in BU’s archives.
    Even your biggest fan, TheOGazerts, recognized what you were attempting to do. He attempted to caution, but declined to do so.

    RE: “u certainly have a physchological problem one which does not allow u to let go.”

    I suspect you were looking into a mirror when you made that comment. Because there is none other than you on BU who has demonstrated the inability to think and ‘let go.’
    You’re known in this forum to ‘ride dead horses,’ simply because you ‘cannot let go.’ And, in doing so, you would purposely ignore or manipulate the truth.
    The ‘dead’ LEC shiite is a perfect example. Whereas that issue has been long resolved since 2016 and Mottley’s accusers have ‘moved on,’ six (6) years later, in 2022, you keep trying to resurrect it.
    Only a few days ago, you made another failed attempt at resurrecting that issue.

    RE: “Rather than say you were wrong u drag the issue miles away into what and how I should reference my comments..”

    Never mentioned anything that would suggest I want to control “what and how (you) should reference (your) comments.
    I’ve ‘said’ on several occasions that you do not think. You sometimes take the ‘easy way out’ by ‘riding on the back’ of other people’s comments….. Mr. Skinner in this case.

    RE: “Guh long do and take Mottley along wid you if yuh think she lives in my head.”

    Everyone who either read or contribute to BU, even the men on the ‘Cream of Wheat’ and ‘Quaker Oats’ boxes, know that Mia Mottley lives ‘rent free’ in your head.
    But, remember, denial is also a “physchological problem.”

  45. @ GP
    Does Bushie have to spell everything out in minute detail?
    The level of private practiced care at QEH has fallen DRAMATICALLY.
    This used to be a key source of INCOME for the hospital in the past. Now what we see are private institutions being set up to exploit this ‘market’, so that INCOME that previously went to the QEH to benefit EVERYONE, has now been REDIRECTED to private pockets.
    Of course, this is accelerated by BAD (DELAYED) SERVICE at the QEH itself…. (cause by whom ??? no one says…)

    Now we all know that doctors are all SAINTS who would NEVER put money before patients….
    But don’t YOU find it ‘interesting’ that we now have a situation where long delays at the QEH are leading MANY persons to OPT to find thousands of dollars to pay for services that were previously available at the QEH (in decent timeframes) for only hundreds or less?

    You may not smell a rat….
    But stinking Bushie does….

    @ Simple Simon
    You are 100% right about a ‘brand new hospital’.
    This is just another scam to bleed off some free and easy $$$$ to ‘consultants’, suppliers, friends, party hangers-owners etc.
    Just look at the ‘Brand New Casualty’ to see what is involved.
    The thing about sheep is how it is possible to fool them over, and over, and over, and ove,r and over, and….

  46. @Bush Tea

    Your are correct. It is fashionable for middle, high income and even those outside with medical insurance to access private care facilities.

    @ David

    I keep ‘saying’ BU is an amazing forum.

    Leaders all over the world, including those countries that received loans or financial aid from China, have condemned Russia’s military action against Ukraine.

    But, an idiot keeps coming to this forum to give people the impression that Mia Mottley committed an UNPARDONABLE SIN when she expressed similar sentiments and that Barbados will suffer dire consequences as a result.

    These silly ‘political yard-fowls’ have an uncanny penchant for politicizing every issue. They are prepared to enter into the ‘realm of absurdity’ to display ‘genuine idiocy’ and criticize for the sake of criticizing.
    Xxxx
    Kind of baffling that after going through those hard moments u still had time and enough concentration to put fingers to key board and interject your perspective on the political happenings connected to war

  48. QEH like the queen is outdated and has outlived its usefulness of purpose
    The thing we called a hospital is no longer fit for any purposes
    Just as fast as Mia Demolish the old NIS building the same should be done to that old and outdated building
    Too many times the sound and cries of patients and employees
    have told stories of inefficient irregularities and poor service
    The expiration date is long pass
    Thus a state of the art Hospital is required to deal with an expanding population and one that requires efficient service

    SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO DO JUST THAT FOR CLARITY BUSHTEA BUT AS BOB DEFFINBAUGH TAUGHT ME IT IS TRUE THAT A GOOD HISTORIANS NEED ONLY GIVE CERTAIN HIGHLIGHTS

    I WILL GIVE YOU HERE TWO BITS OF THE EMBRYOLOGY OF THE PATHOLOGY THAT YOU ARE NOW SEEING

    RE The level of private practiced care at QEH has fallen DRAMATICALLY.
    I WOULD NOT KNOW THAT BECAUSE I LIVE ABROAD SINCE 2003

    This used to be a key source of INCOME for the hospital in the past. Now what we see are private institutions being set up to exploit this ‘market’, so that INCOME that previously went to the QEH to benefit EVERYONE, has now been REDIRECTED to private pockets.
    I KNOW THAT ABOUT THE ADVENT OF THAT —IT BEGAN IN 1884 WHEN PERSONS ABANDONED THE NUNS AT ST JOSEPH’S
    Of course, this is accelerated by BAD (DELAYED) SERVICE at the QEH itself…. (cause by whom ??? no one says…)
    THIS BEGAN IN SURGERY DUE TO HAVING A LACK OF ANESTHETISTS
    IT SEEMS THAT SUCH HAS ESCALATED BUT IT HAD ITS EMBRYOLOGY AROUND 1984

    THERE IS MUCH MORE TOO
    WHY DID THE BLP UNDER ARTHUR JETTISON THE REFURBISHED ST JOSEPH’S—-TO SERVE THE NORTH? IT WAS BEGINNING TO PLAY ITS PART. BUT THIS WAS THE INITIATIVE OF BRANFORD TAITT

    RE Now we all know that doctors are all SAINTS who would NEVER put money before patients….

    I DONT KNOW THAT, AND WOULD NEVER SAY THAT, BECAUSE I KNOW DRS BETTER THAN YOU DO…….AND ACTUALLY I DONT LIKE TOO MANY DOCTORS.

    But don’t YOU find it ‘interesting’ that we now have a situation where long delays at the QEH are leading MANY persons to OPT to find thousands of dollars to pay for services that were previously available at the QEH (in decent timeframes) for only hundreds or less?
    WHEN SUCH GOOD HAPPENED WE HAD DECENT MEN THERE, SIR LIKE PROF ER WALROND WHO OPERATED FOR FREE ON ALL THE POOR PATIENTS THAT I SENT TO HIM.

    TIM ROACH WAS A GOOD MAN TOO. THOUGH WHITE. HE DID NOT JOIN THE BAND THAT PUT THEIR MONEY IN THE OLD BAYLEY CLINIC TO TURN IT INTO BAYVIEW HOSPITAL

    THERE IS A LOT THAT YOU DONT KNOW SIR THAT I CAN TELL ABOUT HOW MUCH THAT YOU ARE SEEING ESCALATED FROM BLP TIMES

    YOU NEED DPD TO TELL THE LEADERSHIP TO EXECUTE AN EMERGENCY POST MORTEM FOR REAL THIS TIME.

    AND THIS IS SOUND DOCTRINE THAT CAN NOT BE REFUTED…….MURDAAH
