For the record ,I have no issues with my fellow human brothers from Africa. Nor do I oppose those who want closer economic, political and cultural ties with peoples from Africa or any other continent. I mix quite easily with persons from other cultures. I respect them and they respect me.

History is of a country. I insist that for the citizens of Barbados 1627 is its beginning. The origin of the majority of our population is Africa. Does that make African history our history. Yours is one way to look at it. How a people is able to thread events/customs from the past to connect to the present adds to the identity build of any people. It nurtures a culture that is defines who we are as a people. In our case many of us are of mixed ancestry which makes the process of discovery the more important AND satisfying.
