Former Prime Minister Freundel Stuart was promoted to speak at a DLP St. Michael South spot meeting in Britton’s Hill last night at 7PM. The blogmaster searched for a recording of the meeting to satisfy a mild curiosity about what the former Prime Minister had to add to the national discourse. Try as we might only a 1 minute clip has surfaced so far on social media.

    I couldn’t resist, but…….

“Aren’t thou a bit too harsh in judging poor” Enuff as well?

Similarly, “where is thy heart of understanding and forgiveness?”

Or, dost thou believe he is a false witness that speaketh lies and is beyond redemption that he must be so vilified even unto his own political death bed?

Why hath thou choseth not to cast thine hands to smite those who reside in the other half of the duopoly, but seek to endorse their comments?

    Don’t they speaketh lies also?

I beseech thee, Oh Miller, that thou should exercise a bit of fairness, lest ye be justifiably accused of ‘throwing stones from the sidelines.’

@David, re “You can’t be the PM of a government that was rejected 30-0 and deliver 2018 narratives. It is bound to impact undecided voters”

We can agree to disagree on that… I do see ANY rational thinking independent according Stuart one jot of impact on effectiveness of governance

That would be madness … We over think these things too much.

The former PM does NOT have the populist impact as for example a Bolsonaro or a Trump or even a Manley and definitely not a Barrow or Tom. He is a curiosity even among DLP supporters, brother.

You heard the “WOW”, when he made that absurdly arrogant comment, I am sure.

So @Nothern, I have no disagreement with the point that the DLP blithely says “the tact is we had a strong government, we did very well.”. Their arrogance as you state “escalated during their term,” to the point that as shi*** ran across the nation’s streets we were told foolisness.

So yes we do NOT “somehow expect they are not still arrogant” NOR would we give Mr. Stuart ANY respect to inform our political decisions. I certainly would NOT.

And @Donna, you are on your hobby horse… happy riding dear lady.

I discussed this with you previously and clarified that Machiavelli is a seminal piece of political treatise REGARDLESS of era.

It’s dicta have been implemented time after time in EVERY political cycle that I have seen (worldwide).

The changing characteristics of human behaviours have in fact NOT changed what was noted in that work or others before (or since) like ‘Animal Farm.

Realistically just the opposite is the case .: changing times have shown us just how insidiously politicians are ‘doubling down ‘ on much of what he wrote.

You have a different view so do continue to ride your horse down your path… I’ll trot on my donkey too!

    Lata.

I am in agreement with the second professor who chastised you for apologizing for having an alternate view. In the University setting all views must be respected. Flaws in logic and incorrect data are subject to comment. There is no need for an apology unless you introduced ad homines.

    Hmmm……

    “Drum Roll. please,” for what?

I have long ago concluded, and proved beyond reasonable doubt, that you comment on issues based on what you ‘feel’ or misrepresentation of the facts you read on other social media platforms.

Sometime during April 2020, ‘government’ announced the establishment of a ‘Jobs and Investment Council,’ which was subdivided into the following committees: Industrial Transformation, Services and the Creative Economy, Retail & Commerce, Finance & Insurance, Housing & Infrastructure, Digital & Transformation, and Trade & Logistics.

Sinckler was invited to chair the TRADE & LOGISTICS group…. and NOT PLACED on some “FINANCE OVERSIGHT Committee,” as you have been adamantly .

Perhaps his qualifications and experience in trade policy also played an important role in ‘government’s’ decision in inviting him to join the committee.

Remember, Sinckler has a MSc International Trade Policy; lectured at UWI in Contemporary International Trade Policy issues; was the Executive Coordinator of the Caribbean Policy Development Centre, which is an organisation dealing with international trade and development issues and the implications for the Caribbean region; and has experience working on issues relating to trade liberalisation.

    (Unquote).
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Of course, Enuff is forgiven for his deadly sins of not only genuinely lying about himself but also that of politically purely red ass-licking when a blogger of his express intellect and moral potential ought to know better and, like you, should be on the side of Truth & Justice.

He, Enuff, is just a spent force and will be interred in the mausoleum called Hyatt Ziva soon to be rechristened, as one of the many incarnations, the Hyatt Mirage.

At least Fumble, like the eponymous thief on the cross, did the honest thing and gave the nod to ensure the man Pornville Inniss ended up where he should have been in Barbados.

That act of sweet revenge would have never happened under a MAM administration.

We keep forgetting that the man FJS, after conceding total defeat in the May 2018 slaughter did say: ‘Mea Culpa’ and mea culpa solus.

Even another once trusted (possibly female) lieutenant has fled the camp of the self-pollinating bees and, like the Moe defector, promises to reveal the ‘Truth’ first exposed by OSA and his old girlfriend Santa Maria from the Provenance of Agard.

The ghost of OSA is hovering like that of Banquo!

I was busy following the breaking news – Re: Ms Lynette Holder

Comrade Stuart is entitled to his views, obviously.

But on an objective point can someone truly blame him for his ‘ glorious’ comment when you consider these 2 points !

Before becoming PM…. Ms Mottley told Bajans….Chris Sinckler was the WORST ….Finance Minister !

She becomes PM……and install Chris Sinckler as a member of her advisory team, in less than 2 years !

Before becoming PM……Ms Mottley told Bajans….PM Stuart Cabinet was too LARGE !
She becomes PM and install a Cabinet…..almost twice the size of PM Stuart’s own !

I agree with former PM Stuart……what a GLORIOUS…..hoax …PM Mottley played on some guillible Bajans ( amongst whom we can see David BU )

But Lynette Holder……will speak later this week !
    Ha ha …..

  15. NorthernObserver Avatar
    NorthernObserver

And @HalA used to go on about MAM’s flailing use of hands and arms when speaking. Seems it extends across the full breadth of Bajan politicians?

  16. @Fractured BLP

It would be a glorious feat to feature Anthony Wood, Lucille Moe and Lynette Holder on the same platform. This has the potential to rock the political landscape at its core.

  17. @ David

DePeiza is promising to ensuring accountability and integrity in public life legislation within 90 days if the DLP is elected. Reminds me of Thompson’s ‘100 days promises.’

The DEMS are supposed to launch their manifesto on Thursday, January 13.

I’m looking forward to reading Observer’s critique of that ‘document’……. if he chooses to do so.

  20. @NO

    Lynette Holder

  21. “Wonder how many years/decades this farce of a political sideshow to nowhere will continue.”

If you conducted an analysis of how long people in Barbados will talk nonsense by taking samples from Barbados Underground as representative of the political sideshow then it will continue for many many years/decades

  22. It is Holder.

  23. Fractured blp

    Xxxxxxxx

Didn’t OSA say she was a mistress of gimmicks
    Bajans love long tales
Lest we forget that Mia called for a vote of no confidence be brought against Sinckler
Another one of her gimmicks straight out of Mia red bag

  24. Mr. Blog Master
Don’t you find it passing strange that two sitting Senators of a government that is going to win again just up and leave. The first one said that principles were more important than money. Technically she saying that money at some point of time cannot be the be all and end all. So do not poo poo the persons that are leaving now. Just ask why? Something must be wrong with the PM style. Just remember also that these ae two females.

  25. @Lest we forget

    Clearly a conflict between parties.

  26. “just ask why? Something must be wrong with the PM style. Just remember also that these ae two females.”

there are a few ifs and buts and holes
and missing evidence and wrongs conclusions
    in your reasoning

she must be relatively squeaky clean

  27. @ David January 11, 2022 7:09 PM

Is that a Freudian slip by deliberately exchanging your ‘n’ for ‘an’ ‘r’?

Maybe the now mended “Fractured BLP” can put it right (to bed).

  28. I hate to be self-defeatist
but any manifesto that suggests improvements
    cannot be true
Barbados is going to Hell in a Handcart
doom and gloom would be more honest

  29. Hearing FJS statement on CBC in the full context really put to sleep this minor distraction. He was speaking about the photovoltaic industry advancement under his administration and how he piloted the legislation to lead to the rapid take off now.
By the way things were hard in Barbados under PM Arthur last term and continued under PM Thompson and then PM Stuart. I survived it all by living within my means. Barbadians are responsible for these high debts as most of it is used for our conspicuous consumption. Where is the foreign exchange coming from for the importation of all these cars in these increasing car lots in communities?

  30. DLP have just released their manifesto
    seek and you will find

  31. @Lest we forget

It is why the blogmaster asked Fractured to give a link to the full speech.

  32. @Hants
“Former Prime Minister Freundel Stuart is not going to impact this election.”

Correct. Looks like “local” politics to me and the new President is keeping him far from national platforms.

    @David
“why was he allowed to speak on a DLP platform ”

He is a former Prime Minister and member of the party. Checks all the needed boxes. lol.

“If Stuart utterances have no impact why is this the topic of conversation on the ground and across social platforms?

For the same reason we love rumour, gossip and innuendo. Fodder for the festive conversation.

    @Theo
“He makes it all about him. The midst of a political campaign is no time for him to try to rehabilitate his image.
    Agreed!!

We seem to agree alot recently!

    @Artax
“The DEMS are supposed to launch their manifesto on Thursday, January 13.”
Ready and waiting!!! Waste of paper. lol.

  33. ““why was he allowed to speak on a DLP platform ””

he is still very much alive
    everyone thought he had died
and would be a stuffed model

  34. Seems like Stuart utterances have also made for good distraction about a blp manifesto that highlights all the goodies for mostly the rich

  40. @Donna January 11, 2022 7:34 AM “I lived here. It was not glorious.”

It may not have been glorious for you or for me, but I bet that we the taxpayers provide our PM’s with a pretty glorious life.
    Nice salary
Big house with a very nice manicured garden, gardeners provided by us
    Security paid for by us
    Housekeeping paid for by us
    Utilities paid for by us
Car and driver paid for by us
Nice, nice pension paid for by us
And finally a nice, nice state funeral paid for by us.

If I had experience all but the last I would think that 2008-18 was a pretty glorious period too.

  44. Freundel: Bajans worse off

FORMER PRIME MINISTER Freundel Stuart says Barbadians were “betrayed” by the Mia Mottley administration after it took office in 2018.
In his first appearance on a Democratic Labour Party platform since the January 19 General Election was announced, Stuart finally broke his silence Monday night, telling constituents of St Michael South, whom he represented for ten years: “I am here tonight to tell you that three and one-half years later, Barbados is worse off than it was in 2018.
“I am also here to tell you that the fundamental values to which you have subscribed in Barbados since Independence 55 years ago have been betrayed by this administration. If you are interested in your own welfare, in your children’s welfare and in the welfare of those yet unborn, you have no choice but to go to the polls on the 19th of this month and hound this administration out of office,” he added.
Speaking in support of his successor, St Michael South DLP candidate Kevin Miller, at a spot meeting at Reece Land, Brittons Hill, the former DLP leader said: “This is the first opportunity that I am having to thank all of you here in St Michael South for the warmth of your hospitality and the charm of your manner for the three terms I was down here . . . .
“In 2018 you here in St Michael South made a choice, as did the people in Barbados make a choice. I believe in the will of the people freely expressed and, therefore, although it was a source of disappointment, the outcome I accepted and I waited to see what would become of Barbados under our successors in Government.”
Stuart suggested that long-held Barbadian values were under threat from a Barbados Labour Party (BLP) administration.
“In 1966 we in Barbados settled a set of values by which the society would be guided and on the basis on which it would be governed. We said in the preamble to the Constitution of Barbados that we were declaring ourselves a sovereign independent nation founded on principles that accept the supremacy of God, the dignity and worth of the human person [and] an unshakable faith in fundamental human rights, a belief in the family and the role of the family in free societies and among free men.
“I am here to tell the people of St Michael South and all Barbadians, that the present BLP administration has betrayed the trust of the people of Barbados politically, socially and economically in light of those values on which this society rests,” Stuart said in a speech lasting more than an hour.
While acknowledging his loss to BLP candidate Kirk Humphrey in 2018, he made no excuse for his stewardship and thanked his former constituents “for all you did for me when I was MP for this area”. ( GC)

Parliament negros were invented to WASTE Black LIVES and now they do it VOLUNTARILY. without any prompting at all……or they would not still be engaging in that destrucgtion over half century later.

neither DBLP can tell anyone WHY they allow racism, apartheid, discrimination, victimization, disenfranchisement including THEFTS from the treasury and pension fund to take root and flourish for the last 55 YEARS….AGAINST THE DESCENDANTS of the enslaved, in the 21st century to keep the majority population whom they BEG FOR VOTES and WHO PAY THEIR SALARIES, dependent on every halfassed local and foreign minority crook/thief, yes, they are the ones still doing it, the minorities COULD NEVER DO IT WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION and COLLUSION…..were they not involved in promoting and SUPPORTING IT, it would have ENDED DECADES AGO…

    they are all TRAITORS.

was the Cahill scam ever mentioned where a crazy Canadian white woman/scam artist set those stupid fools up and now suing the island..

  46. Stuart along with thousands of Barbadians are speaking on govt presentation.of plans to remove God from the Constitution
Morals and God’s guidance has been the bedrock upon which many barbadians have held on to for hope and with faith to take them.through another day
Mia bombas.attitude to remove the name of God from the Constitution is an inglorious moment in our history and would not be forgotten

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has warned voters about not supporting the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) and ending up with a Democratic Labour Party Government.

She was speaking on a platform mounted to endorse the BLP’s City of Bridgetown candidate Corey Lane on Monday night.

In calling the elections last Boxing Day, she had said she needed the country to unite behind one leader and she reiterated that to party supporters.

Quoting the BLP’s campaign song that instructs voters not to “stand home vex” but to give her the “x”, Mottley told online viewers and those in person that she was “breaking it down” for them.

“You know them ain’t ready yet, but I talking about us. What I need from you, what my team needs from you, is a proper mandate . . . . We need people to come out . . . you can’t take no chances. You gine play that you vex wid somebody and end up with a hangman’s noose around your neck if the Dems win. I never see such foolishness in my life. (AC)

The above article is one for the……ages !

PM Mottley BLP on December 27, 2021 held 29 seats – in a 30 seat Parliament.

Without , any known command / threat from Barbadians….PM Mottley had Parliament dissovled ( with 18 months left in her 5 year term )…..called a snap general elections for January 19, 2022…..in order to gain ALL…..30 sests !

At least – most of her public comments on and after December 27, 2021……heralds that call .

    Mind – blowing !
