Miss Ram always find ways to be in the news mostly in an unfavourable light. Her latest flirt with the local newsfeed is that she has been exposed selling an unapproved, inferior off the shelf Covid 19 rapid test at her hardware store Builders Value Mart. A local press report quoted Miss Ram as saying:

Let me do my own research because I like to understand things. I will have to investigate because when I do certain things, I check first. I don’t know where the error has occurred, were they not known or what has come up. But if it is definitely banned and if they have done it, definitely it will go off the shelves right away.

Miss Ram
It is a Chinese manufactured product with the name COVID-19 (SARS-Cov-2) IgG/IgM Antibody Test Kits (Colloidal Gold).

It was drawn to the blogmaster’s attention the product highlighted below is the real macoy which is sold for about three times what Miss Ram is/was selling her inferior imitation.

The question on the lips of onlookers is – why would Miss Ram import Covid 19 rapid test kits during a pandemic without seeking approval or validation from the Ministry of Health? Whose side is she on besides greed?

    A COVID-19 antibodies researcher expects to see more deaths among fully vaccinated people as vaccine effectiveness begins to wane.

    “The vulnerable are becoming vulnerable again,” said Rodney Russell, a professor of immunology and infectious diseases at Memorial University of Newfoundland.

    He said research is showing that the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccinations begins to fade after six or seven months. And since older and vulnerable groups were vaccinated first, they’re seeing the first signs of waning immunity. Of New Brunswick’s first 84 deaths, 17 of them — or 20 per cent — were fully vaccinated. The other 67 were unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

    The Department of Health released those numbers on Friday, so they do not include deaths announced since then. The government does not indicate the vaccine status when it announces new deaths from COVID-19.

    The department was asked to break down the numbers from before and after vaccinations were introduced, but it didn’t.

    To put the numbers in perspective, eight New Brunswickers had already died from COVID-19 before the first vaccination was given on Dec. 19.

    By April 1, when shots became available to those over age 75, 30 people had died. By May 18, when the vaccine was available to all adults, 42 people had died.

    Russell said he would expect that most of those who died fully vaccinated are over the age of 65 and likely had underlying health issues.

    Covid-19 immunity is waning and there is ‘huge potential’ that the virus could once again put the NHS under extreme pressure over the winter, a government scientist has warned.

    Professor Andrew Hayward said the situation was ‘concerning’ and suggested ministers should ‘think about other measures’ if the virus threatens to run ‘out of control’.
    It comes as the UK recorded nearly 50,000 new cases in the 24 hours to Monday, the biggest daily rise in infections since mid-July. Another 45 people died within 28 days of a positive test, bringing the total to 138,629.
    Downing Street said an increase in cases had been expected over the winter and warned that the coming months will be ‘challenging’.

    Government data up to Sunday show more than 300,000 confirmed cases reported over the last seven days, a 15% increase on the previous week.

    The 852 deaths reported from October 11 to October 17 was 8.5% higher than the figure for the previous seven-day period.
    Figures from the Office for National Statistics on Friday showed coronavirus infection levels in England are getting close to the peak seen at the height of the second wave and are mostly being driven by rates among schoolchildren.

    Prof Hayward, a member of the Sage scientific advisory panel, told BBC Radio 4’s World At One: ‘I think it’s concerning that we’ve got very high rates of infection and higher rates of hospitalisation and mortality than many of our European counterparts.’
    He said waning immunity is ‘probably part of’ the reason infections are currently high, adding there is ‘some evidence’ protection against infection is beginning to wear off and ‘probably some evidence’ protection against severe disease is waning to a lesser extent.
    Prof Hayward added: ‘We shouldn’t be complacent because there is still huge potential for the NHS to come under a lot of pressure and for there to be a lot of unnecessary deaths.
    ‘So we need to get the vaccination rates up and we need to be prepared potentially to think about other measures if things do get out of control.’

    The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: ‘We obviously keep very close watch on the latest statistics. We always knew the coming months would be challenging.
    ‘What we are seeing is case rates, hospitalisations and deaths still broadly in line with the modelling as set out a few months back now.

    ‘The vaccination programme will continue to be our first line of defence, along with new treatments, testing and public health advice.
    ‘But we will obviously keep a close watch on cases.
    ‘But it is thanks to our vaccination programme that we are able to substantially break the link between cases, hospitalisations and deaths.’

    The spokesman said the success of the vaccines meant ‘we are able to be one of the most open economies in Europe, which is benefiting the public and indeed businesses as well’.
    The Prime Minister’s spokesman added: ‘What’s important is we strike the right balance between protecting lives and livelihoods.’
    The Government’s autumn and winter plan suggested that some measures including the mandatory use of vaccine passports and face coverings could be required in England if cases were putting unsustainable pressure on the NHS.
    But Downing Street insisted ‘there is absolutely no plan to introduce Plan B currently’.

    There was a man of the soil who is now retired in the UK who offered sound advice to his country men and women; often he expressed his concerns for the Island and proposed solutions. He was chased of BU.

    He would often refer to Barbados as been a failed state.

    Why has Barbados become a Mecca for criminal businesses both foreign and domestic? Can Barbadian consumers trust anything that is sold from their shelves. Why has this government allowed companies in Swan Street and beyond to sell counterfeit and fake batteries. The list is limitless. Mia, is the current Prime Minister she needs to fix this problem – now. She appears indifferent towards Barbadian consumers.

    The Uk was warned by many in the medical fraternity that to stop requiring test for persons entering as of October 4th was a major mistake. They yielded in the end to the pressure of the business community and travel sector. They were told fully vaccinated can still catch and spread the virus and that by year end they will regret the decision. Lets see what happens there and how things will pan out for Boris.

    Truth is if them them bogus test come here in a container or was stored in a hot tail bond dem ain’t no use now anyhow, cause the article on Antigen rapid test I was reading say they must be stored within a certain temp range so basically can not be shipped in a hot ass Container. Not that it matters to these ones cause dem start out being no good to begin with! LOL

    There are such things as refrigerated containers … reefers!!.

    Temperatures are measured electronically and recorded on a Chart automatically.

    If the refrigeration fails in its job, the chart will show it.

    Pray tell what items would a hardware bring in a refrigerated container? nails, screws , hammers, maybe windows. That is a none issue not worth mentioning. Refrigs here bring food stuff mainly. Do you know the cost of a 20ft refrig compared to a normal 20 ft? Massive difference in cost.

    It’s not the buyer but the seller who determines how the product is shipped.

    If the seller specifies a temperature range in which the product must be kept then a reefer is required.

    Otherwise the seller is open to litigation from the buyer (Ms. Ram) for defective merchandise and Ms. Ram has been known to prosecute the odd body every now and then when she feels she isn’t getting her pound of flesh.

    Quite apart from this absolutely basic obvious response, you must remember that Ms. Ram has very diverse interests besides her hardware business and she has also been associated with a medical school in Barbados.

    Stick to discussing water boren covid.

    The storage condition for the leading brands of covid kits run from 2 degrees C to 30 degrees C. The ambient temperature recommend is between 21- 24 degrees C or room temperature. These items are shipped by airfreight and couriers like DHL and Fed ex. You see i discuss what I know about and deal with daily. For the record a normal closed cargo container can reach over 40 degrees when closed and refrigs can get as low as -65 degrees C. For example when shipping meat the recommend temperature of the refrig should be around-18 degrees C for the journey. So if you want to destroy testing kits put them in a refrig. As I said a topic not worth discussing.

    You may have the last word as there really is nothing to further to add.
