Recent COVID 19 Dashboards reflect a global picture, one of rising infections caused mainly by the Delta variant. Unfortunately because Barbados does not exist in a fishbowl, our tiny island is being ravaged by the the coronavirus. Given the perilous state of the economy before the pandemic struck, Barbadians should expect a period of economic hardship for the next many years, ten, twenty …it is left to be seen. We will probably be told differently very soon with 2023 rapidly approaching.

It is regrettable the one advantage our island has compared to larger countries we continue to squander. Come together, agree to a way forward , inspire residents to rally behind a sensible plan AND EXECUTE. Instead we see the same old, political opportunism, high class ignorance and panic.

Covid 19 Dashboard 1/9/2021

The blogmaster is hopeful this blog can be used to record constructive suggestions to help onlookers negotiate the ongoing Covid 19 challenge, now and in the long-term. To repeat – the blogmaster is hopeful.

One thing is for certain, it is going to be a bleak Christmas.

Augusto Pinochet saved Chile by introducing a liberal, open market economy. Today, Chile is the richest and best-governed country in South America.

We should indeed take Chile as a model. We need Chicago Boys who will scrap the sclerotic local socialism and finally carry out the second emapncipation of the black masses. In my opinion, they too have the right to become successful businessmen instead of continuing to exist as impoverished dependent workers.

The struggle for liberalism is a struggle for the black masses. Those who cling to Barrow´s tropical socialism want to subjugate the black masses.

  2. Nobody trying to follow you down your rabbit hole, more like it!

So…. you post a video about Biden and vaccine mandates and conclude that 78m people could not have voted for him.

At this point an honest GP would jump out and offer his favourite rebuttal, “NON SEQUITUR!”

  3. @ Miller September 10, 2021 11:57 AM #: “Let’s dub him ‘Advisor’ especially on all matters involving fractions, percentages, decimals and ratios which even your 11plus son or daughter can figure out.”

There you go misrepresenting the truth again.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

By making such a statement aren’t you, accidentally, shooting your self in the foot by putting it in your mouth with your obsequiously ‘feign’ encomiums about your Supreme leader?

Isn’t your idolatrous goddess a dedicated disciple of the same “Barrow’s tropical socialism”?

Why the dogged commitment to the subsidizing of goods and services and the retention and protection of the unrealistic parity between the Bajan Mickey mouse dollar and the Greenback now turning yellow?

Why not be a true market liberal like Pinochet and let the Bajan $ ‘float’ to its real market value?

Now that would clearly put the economic cat among the financial pigeons to really liberate the Bajan masses from their current cage of dependency on the Barrow-inspired welfare state funded by soaking the poor with indirect taxes to trick the same poor with handouts from politicians.

  5. @MTA
surely you have missed Trons calls for Devaluation?

  6. @ Miller September 10, 2021 1:17 PM

My criticism is only directed at the advisers, but never at our democratically elected Cabinet Ministers and certainly not at our Supreme Leader.

Our Supreme Leader has only bad advisers, namely Greendidge, Persaud and Sinckler. She herself is open to rational argument. Our Supreme Leader must indeed become a strongwoman and succeed the great Augusto Pinochet in the history books.

    @ NorthernObserver September 10, 2021 1:26 PM

Of course we need a “monetary reform”. The transformation to a republic would be the right occasion to “reform” the value of our so-called currency.

ACTUALLY an honest GP CANNOT jump out and offer his favourite rebuttal, “NON SEQUITUR” BECAUSE IT IS NOT A NON SEQUITUR, FOR IT IS VERY CLEAR FROM THE EVIDENCE THAT 78m people could not have voted for BIDEN, IN THE PAST (AS IT WAS IN THE BEGINING) , THE PRESENT (IT IS NOW) OR FUTURE ( AND EVER SHALL BE )

You could talk all the crap you like. but Donna knows what a non sequitur is. The non sequitur has NOTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER OR NOT THEY DID VOTE FOR HIM.

IT SIMPLY MEANS THAT IT DOES NOT FOLLOW FROM THE “EVIDENCE” PRESENTED ABOVE.

NOT SURE IF THIS OFFER HAS OUGHT TO DO WITH 2 PETER 3 V9 OR PSALM 90 WHOM PETER CITES…….BUT WHAT IS VERY CLEAR AND INTERESTING IS THAT BIDEN IS SO OBVIOUSLY BOUND FOR HEAVEN AS HIS “”ETERNITY”” IN OFFICE HAS BEEN SO PERFECT, THAT NAUGHT IS SAID ABOUT HIS BRILLIANT NON PERORMANCE ON BU.

WE OUGHT NOT TO CALL THIS HERO A PIECE OF SHIT, AS HE IS MORE LIKE DIARRHOEA, WHICH WAS ONCE DEFINED BY ONE OF MY TEACHERS AS “”THE TOO FREQUENT PASSAGE OF THE TOO FLUID STOOL””.

IT SEEMS THAT IN EVERY RESPECT ALL OF HIS Na+K+ATPase dependent pumps are dysfunctional.

AND THIS CAN NOT BE REFUTED.

  16. There is wasting of resources, all these people getting tested are they opting for the vaccine if their tests come back negative or are they waiting for another outbreak or a future contact tracing to be tested again?

According to the data submitted by “Cuhdear” approx. 17,000 persons tested up to September 10th with approx. 700 positive, if they can find their way to be tested they can find their way to vaccine centres or they may prefer to play Russian roulette with a loaded gun.

  17. @ Sargeant September 10, 2021 8:18 PM

All this testing is turning more and more into total madness. Our government should rather put the scarce resources into the vaccination campaign and lock up the BAMP president.

Our government should simply let all fatties with pre-existing conditions and all unvaccinated people die. It’s their own fault because they eat too much or don’t want to get vaccinated.

WHY should we keep people alive who want to kill themselves???

  18. @ angela cox September 10, 2021 5:53 PM

They are an unvaccinated wild mob. Obviously, emancipation has not done them any good.

Unfortunately, we are now in a similar situation after the wild, brutal and violent mob spread the disease across the country from the inner city in August. I would not be surprised if soon some people take up arms to defend themselves against the unvaccinated.

  19. Has it ever dawned on you that unvaccinated persons who have already had COVID are better protected than any vaccinated person.

Why get vaccinated if you have the antibodies in you for free!!

…. and they are all natural too, made by your own personal body, made and given to you for free by God Almighty.

  21. 891 people received 1st vaccines yesterday

At this rate about 138,000 will have received first vaccines by the end of this month.

And by Independence Day maybe 192,000 people will have been vaccinated. If the government makes vaccines compulsory for school children as ALL Barbados governments traditionally have done, and as government should now; by Independence the number of vaccinated people should be well over 200,000

  22. A 66-year-old Barbadian woman is the 52nd person to die from COVID-19. She passed away on Friday, at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility. She was unvaccinated

  23. @ Cuhdear Bajan September 11, 2021 4:43 PM

    Vaccination is our salvation.

Anyone who opposes the vaccination campaign in public is in breach of the Corona emergency legislation and may be committing manslaughter by negligence.

  24. @ Cuhdear Bajan September 11, 2021 4:43 PM

With Independence Day, we should move to only allowing vaccinated people on our island. Canada, for example, does the same. Similarly, we should restrict participation in public life to vaccinated people. Several CARICOM members are already doing this.

The question then remains what happens to the 50000-80000 local refuseniks. Will they all have to wear Rasta hats and Rasta braids or yellow veils so that the vaccinated can more easily recognise them as disease carriers? Or wouldn’t it be better for our government to expropriate Lord Drax in order to set up an internment camp on his plantation? Or should they go to the asylum in Black Rock?

We cannot stand by forever while a radical minority contaminates the island for highly selfish and irrational reasons. If the winter season in the tourism industry fails, we are screwed. Our government must clearly prioritise the common good of the economy over the non-existent rights of a radical minority.

    Blah, blah, blah…..

    STILL NON SEQUITUR!

  27. @John September 11, 2021 9:54 AM “Why get vaccinated if you have the antibodies in you for free!!”

Why don’t you ask this question of the 4,638,502 people who have died of Covid19, and of the 225,099,855 who have been sickened by it?

Although it seems to me the “free anti-bodies” thingy didn’t work out too well for them.

  28. I don’t need to ask the 225,099.855 people who have been sickened by it because it is a scientific fact they have antibodies in them circulating for free as a result of contracting COVID.

You should ask yourself if it is possible that there are 225,099,855 people out there who know of this scientific fact and have decided not to have the so called vaccination.

The answer may help you relax, if you are prepared to accept it!!!

Accept it or not, many will not see the need for vaccination.

… and remember, the testing only catches a small fraction of those infected.

So it is quite possible that the vast majority of living people in the world already have antibodies running around inside of them protecting them from future infections of COVID.

  29. Some will decide to take the vaccine, some will not.

I guess if you are suggesting to me to go ask a bunch of dead people a question you are not going to understand this simple fact in any hurry!!

  30. Besides, some so called vaccinated people are also dying from COVID too!!
