INTRODUCTION
• I have a great fascination with the short, one chapter books of the New Testament, and always teach them first in any program on which I embark.
• My love relationship with the book of Philemon began in 1977, when I first studied this gem to teach its truths to the young people of Mona Heights Chapel at a weekend camp that was to have been convened to celebrate my return home to Barbados from among these Brethren with whom I served while a medical student in Kingston, Jamaica.

  1. “I was never taught that the Lord Jesus Christ was white or of any particular hue, in my youth, and I have never thought of it throughout my earthly sojourn. I guess this is because as J Vernon McGee would say ONE MUST KEEP THE MAIN THING THE MAIN THING, AND THAT ONE MUST STRESS THE ESSENTIALS RATHER THAN THE INCIDENTALS IN ONE’S APPROACH TO STUDY OF THE SCRIPTURES.”

    You have been hypnotised.

The truth of the argument that Jesus was not pale lilly white European in any shape or form applies to original Jews hues too.
False Religion was used by imperialists colonialists and capitalists slavers as justification for discrimination against people of colour and perpetuate doctrine of white supremacy. False religion is also a money scam and in the not so distant past the religious class used to dictate how to run Governments and implementation of laws and they also represented nationalism and supported war. You cannot distinguish religion and man’s obsession to rule in dominion.

Based on the history against which the books of the Bible were recorded it should depict truth.

“I was never taught that the Lord Jesus Christ was white or of any particular hue, in my youth, and I have never thought of it throughout my earthly sojourn.”

Doc that is an AMAZING statement.

Now I notice it’s NOT in uppercase so I am unsure if its YOUR words exactly or something you cut n pasted from another.

Taking it as YOUR words I can only say that I am totally confounded by what YOU DIDNT say!

A young activelty thinking, likely voracious reader and smart fella sees basically ONLY white images of the Christ but at NO STAGE of those active brain pulses does he muse about or reflect on that imagery!

    Interesting.

Oh I did not read your sterling presentation … actually popped over from my BJS (Biden Joy Syndrome) to see what @Codrington was saying.

Anyhow let me ask you this: what are your thought now 50 some years on from 16, about a lily white Jesus imagery!

    Just wondering.

    I gone.

Oh @John why do u do as @Austin always asserts answer/respond to your OWN questions …. not what is asserted.

In what frame of reference could @Matiposa’s EVER be a youth prior to 1950s … and thus their statement not be true!

You guys say some of the most astoundingly mind bending things!

Doc that is an AMAZING statement.

When I was an Anglican in my youth, each Sunday, the teaching was focussed on earling the collect in Sunday school. and sermons revolved around the Epistle and Gospel passage for the that Sunday. In preparation to be confirmed sinners we studied the Catechism. We did not waste time on rubbish as to what was the hue of the LORD JESUS CHRIST

IN THE BAPTIST CHURCH I ATTENDED, WE STUDIED THE BIBLE
I OWN AND HAVE READ SEVERAL BILE COMMENTARIES WRITTEN BY STAWARTS OF THE FAITH. NONE OF THESE DEALT WITH the hue of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, SEEING THAT IS NOT NECESSARY INFORMATION FOR SALVATION, OR FAITH AND PRACTICE.

.ACTUALLY the most astoundingly mind bending things I HAVE EVER SEEN, OR HEARD ABOUT THE BIBLE APPEARS ON BU

I REALLY CANT SEE WHY YOU THINK THAT IN MY YOUTH OR NOW THAT I SHOULD FOCUS ON RUBBISH

Bibliomancy is the practice of seeking spiritual insight by selecting a random passage from a Holy Book. It is a form of Stichomancy, which involves selecting a random passage from a random book of any nature. Judges 1: 7 And Adoni-bezek said: ‘Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered food under my table; as I have done, so God hath requited me.’ And they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.

Judges 1: 8 And the children of Judah fought Jerusalem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.

Judges 1: 11 And from thence he went against the inhabitants of Debir–now the name of Debir beforetime was Kiriath-sepher.

Judges 1: 13 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

Judges 1: 14 And it came to pass, when she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field; and she alighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her: ‘What wouldest thou?’

The second excerpt represents the element of Fire. It speaks of emotional influences and base passions, and is drawn from The Tanach:
2_Samuel 14: 17 Then thy handmaid said: Let, I pray thee, the word of my lord the king be for my comfort; for as an angel of God, so is my lord the king to discern good and bad; and the LORD thy God be with thee.’

2_Samuel 14: 18 Then the king answered and said unto the woman: ‘Hide not from me, I pray thee, aught that I shall ask thee.’ And the woman said: ‘Let my lord the king now speak.’

    2_Samuel 14: 19 And the king said: ‘Is the hand of Joab with thee in all this?’ And the woman answered and said: ‘As thy soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from aught that my lord the king hath spoken; for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of thy handmaid;

2_Samuel 14: 20 to change the face of the matter hath thy servant Joab done this thing; and my lord is wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all things that are in the earth.’

2_Chronicles 21: 20 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years; and he departed joyless; and they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.

2_Chronicles 22: 1 And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead; for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.

2_Chronicles 22: 2 Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.

2_Chronicles 22: 4 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did the house of Ahab; for they were his counsellors after the death of his father, to his destruction.

2_Chronicles 22: 5 He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth-gilead; and the Arameans wounded Joram.

2_Chronicles 22: 6 And he returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which they had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Aram. And Azariah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

Stichomancy is one of the oldest forms of divination (at least 3000 years old in fact), in which the querant opens to a random page of randomly selected book in a library, to find an excerpt that applies to the situation at hand. The most common forms of stichomancy are I Ching readings (in which one consults the ancient Chinese Book of Changes) and Bibliomancy (in which one consults a Holy Book such as the King James Bible or the Koran). In order to give you the widest possible experience, our library includes hundreds of the most interesting and famous books and documents in literature. Readings from a particular genre are the most popular, especially the Adventure, Bible, and Horror genres. If you would like to learn more about Stichomancy, check out our store.

Jeremiah 24: 1 The LORD showed me, and behold two baskets of figs set before the temple of the LORD; after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.

Jeremiah 24: 2 One basket had very good figs, like the figs that are first-ripe; and the other basket had very bad figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.

Jeremiah 24: 3 Then said the LORD unto me: ‘What seest thou, Jeremiah?’ And I said: ‘Figs; the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, that cannot be eaten, they are so bad.’

Jeremiah 24: 4 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:

Jeremiah 24: 5 ‘Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: Like these good figs, so will I regard the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, for good.

Jeremiah 24: 6 And I will set Mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

The second excerpt represents the present or the deciding factor of the moment, and is drawn from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne:
I saw their spiral-shaped and fluted shells, which Cuvier justly compares to an elegant skiff. A boat indeed! It bears the creature which secretes it without its adhering to it.

For nearly an hour the Nautilus floated in the midst of this shoal of molluscs. Then I know not what sudden fright they took. But as if at a signal every sail was furled, the arms folded, the body drawn in, the shells turned over, changing their centre of gravity, and the whole fleet disappeared under the waves. Never did the ships of a squadron manoeuvre with more unity.

At that moment night fell suddenly, and the reeds, scarcely raised by the breeze, lay peaceably under the sides of the Nautilus.

The third excerpt represents the future or something you must embrace, and is drawn from The Country Doctor by Honore de Balzac:

The kings were suing for mercy on their knees. Peace had been won. Could a mere mortal have done that? No. God helped him, that is certain. He distributed himself about like the five loaves in the Gospel, commanded on the battlefield all day, and drew up his plans at night. The sentries always saw him coming; he neither ate nor slept. Therefore, recognizing these prodigies, the soldier adopts him for his father. But, forward!

  14. IN Normandy, France, on the day of the D-Day invasion. what happened on that hallowed ground seventy-five years earlier changed the course of history and the lives of millions of people.
One event from that time etched on many minds occurred on June 6, 1944, in a German prisoner of war camp, when one of the prisoners who was secretly listening to the BBC, heard of the allied invasion of Normandy.

He could hardly contain himself. He began whispering three simple words to other prisoners, “They have come.” One prisoner was so overcome with joy that he threw reserve and restraint aside, ran into the barracks, and began shouting, “They have come. They have come.”

Weak men jumped for joy. Strong men hugged each other and wept with excitement. Some stood on tables and shouted as others rolled on the floor in ecstasy. Their German captors, not knowing about D-Day, thought they had gone crazy. For the prisoners, nothing had changed outwardly, but inwardly everything had changed. Their rescue was certain. “They had come.”

The same is true of Christmas. Bethlehem was God’s Normandy. Jesus came to defeat the enemy and set the prisoners free. Our rejoicing should be no less great. We must not keep the news to ourselves. Our situation may not change externally, but internally everything changes. Rescue is certain. This Christmas we should loudly, joyfully proclaim—“He has come! He has come!”

AND EVEN BETTER NEWS THAN CHRISTMAS WHEN HE CAME AT HIS FIRST ADVENT IS THAT HE IS COMING AGAIN SOON!
