Sweet Sunday Sermon – The word “Redeem” as found in the New Testament

In the New Testament we see that all people need redemption, since they are all slaves, being all sold under sin and in spiritual bondage. Jesus made this abundantly clear to the Jewish leadership of his day (John 8:31-36).

The Coming of the Redeemer and the accomplishment of Redemption is recorded in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in accordance to the teaching of Galatians 4:4 that in the fullness of time, God sent his son into the world to redeem a people for himself. The Fall of man established man’s desperate need for redemption, and God had carefully and thoroughly prepared the world for the coming of the Redeemer in the balance of the Old Testament.

The four gospels are the inspired eye-witness accounts of the life, death and resurrection of the Saviour. Christ came to reveal the glory of God in human flesh, “the image of the invisible God, pre-eminent over all creation” (Colossians 1:15). He came to proclaim the kingdom of God and teach us about the way of salvation (Matthew 3:2). He came to conquer Satan and to destroy his work (Col. 2:15; I John 3:8). But above all, he came to die for sins and to rise triumphantly from the grave to display his victory. He came to redeem us! (John 3:16,17).

    Yes Hal, (facepalm emoji) you can pat yourself on the head again for being so anal again you must be the world champion of stating the bleeding obvious and must be stunningly boring in person.
    He is a character from Alex Hailey’s Roots which everyone from our generation watched when they were Children.

    You could say all Blacks in the Western Hemisphere who are a part of the African Slave Diaspora have a Kunte Kinte or two in their family tree, There must be millions of similar stories. It’s the Poor Man’s Story, it never ends in glory, it only leads to another dance story that you can hear on the radio station.

    But it also equally as easy to imagine Barbados being the birthplace of the model of black chattel slavery in the Americas and, allegedly, exported to America with Virginia being the first state to be infected with the virus via the ‘fictitious’ Willie Lynch Letter: “The Making of a Slave”.

    The Truth about Barbado(e)s did not begin in 1627 and ended in 1966.

    I thought there was a move afoot to say America begun in 1619 with the advent of the slaves in Virginia, well before any Englishman even set foot on Barbados!!!!

    However the fight to overcome economic slavery is a fight that have blacks fighting the powerful white financial establishment of the world as well as black govts who are modern uncle Toms for powerful sources that control the economic wealth of their nation
    The dsy is fast approaching when God will put an end to such injustices
    As a matter of fact COVID might be the first step as we look around and large swath of financial Empires crumble to the ground

    The dispensation for black liberation started in the 60’s when our generation was born to bless the world with love and not war and is still growing strong.

    Speaking natures of Gods wrath on mankind
    I have been reading reports of unusual amounts of rain this time of the year in sme countries at a time when weather changes are mostly mild to very cold weather
    I read reports of flooding in parts of fla this time of the year and lots of rain
    Could it be that nature is sending a signal that the in the coming months there might be long term droughts
    Hence all living in those countries should be prepared

    You are a medical doctor…that means University study. How did you manage that? I thought your religious order were prohibited from attending University. One local fella, a Corbin, was a Barbados Scholar (after you and JK), and to attend Uni his family was ‘read out’.

    Then what does that make the same Jewish apostles who became so-called Christians?

    Formerly enslaved Egyptian ‘black’ Jews from the cursed tribe of Ham?

    Faced with that more realistic scenario we are sure you would now try to distant yourself as far away from being a ‘blackened’ Jew as you would wish to identify with any ancestors of voodoo high priests in Benin so widely represented in modern-day Haiti.

    was not aware of the multiple variations. BESIDES CLOSED AND OPEN, THEY WERE VARIATIONS BECAUSE OF SEVERAL SPLINTERS WITHIN THESE MAIN GROUPS

    AMONG THE OPEN BRETHREN THERE ARE TWO GROUPS IN BIM, A GROUP OF 13, ASSEMBLIES AND THEN ANOTHER GROUP OF AT LEAST 5 THAT I KNMOW ABOUT

    My Great Grandfather (1856 – c.1936) and his family were members years ago.

    Lived in Oistins above Scarborough on the land side.

    Just before the fork taking you up to Below Rock, or Below the Rock as it appears on old maps.

    Neighbour was Mr. Pinierho, almost certainly a descendant of an early Sephardic Jewish family … like me.
