AFRICA has been painted with such a negative brush that for a very long time, the knowledge that you came from Africa was not a source of great pride. This shame has long plagued the mind of the African who became a Negro during   the slave-breaking process. It caused the search for origins outside of Africa, because very few Negroes   wanted to be linked with a place  that had been covered with such shame.

    Sun exposure at work could lead to one skin cancer death a week

    Working in the sun could lead to one death and around five new cases of melanoma skin cancer a week, according to a new Imperial study.

    The findings, published in the British Journal of Cancer, showed that construction workers had the highest number of deaths (44% of deaths), followed by agriculture workers (23% of deaths). Public administration and defence workers – including the police and the armed forces – accounted for 10% of deaths.

    Study shows Caucasian women have 5 to 10% lower bone density than African-American women. The lighter the complexion, the higher the risk for osteoporosis. Women with very fair skin, freckles, and blond or reddish hair are at the highest risk for osteoporosis.

    Wrinkles tied to bone density :
    Wrinkles on a woman’s face may be able to predict how likely she is to suffer from bone fractures, according to a US study.

    That’s because the level of proteins (collagen) in the skin and bones are linked, so if a woman’s face and neck are severely wrinkled, she faces a higher risk of bone breakage due to bone density loss, said Yale University researchers.

    The Albino Enslavers :
    European Albinos who chose to settle in areas of the Earth between 40 degrees North and 40 degrees South; knew fully well that they would NOT be able to do the FARMWORK necessary to support themselves with FOOD in those areas due to the Damaging/Killing strength of the Sun’s UV radiation at those latitudes.     Reason for Slavery:
    The only reason for Black Slavery was the White/Albino Mans inability to stay out in the Sun long enough to do normal farming. This meant that without help, White people/Albinos could not feed themselves. Thus without Blacks/pigmented people to do outside work for them, Whites/Albinos would starve or die in the fields.

    Reason for Racism:
    White people fear genetic annihilation.
    In 2017, White people constituted 60% of the U.S. population, down from about 90% in 1950. It’s projected that by 2050, they will be the new minority and people of color will be the majority—a nightmarish prediction to some White people.

    Deaths now outnumber births among white people in more than half the states in the country, demographers have found, signaling what could be a faster-than-expected transition to a future in which whites are no longer a majority of the American population

    The late Frances Cress Welsing, psychiatrist and author of The Isis Papers: The Keys to the Colors and The Cress Theory of Color Confrontation and Racism, is well-known for her theory of Black and Brown genetic dominance over the White recessive gene.

    “People of color have the capacity to genetically annihilate White people,” she explained, “and unless White people control the reproduction of people of color, we can postulate that perhaps one day there won’t be any White people.

    This misconception is purely whites fear of a black planet*.
    People are people and we are all members of the human race**.
    White parents with mixed race children love their children and their children relate to both their parents cultures.

    Nelson’s removal a sign of change
    Nelson is coming down.
    But I know dey got some people dat wudda prefer he tuh go bruggadung, rather than receive the dignified, gentle and ceremonial removal which he is scheduled to receive tomorrow.
    I am not in the “destroy it” or “pelt it in de wharf” crowd. Not when it is Christians burning the Koran nor when it is the Taliban blowing up Buddhist statues. I don’t feel Barbados should follow in the footsteps of fanatics.
    My ideal scenario was Nelson’s statue being removed under the auspices of a Government and with the support of a people that have both matured and evolved in consciousness beyond emotional, colonial attachments. It seems that, in many ways, this is exactly what is happening in Barbados. And in many ways not.
    In the back of my mind, in a corner of my spirit, I have this niggling feeling like I would only believe it when I see it. Nelson has been promising to come down for 20 years or so. I know it would be highly unusual for an event such as this to be cancelled or postponed at such a late hour.
    But this day has been delayed so long that it began to feel kind of like MLK’s promised land. I knew we would get there.
    I just couldn’t be sure that I would be around to see it.
    There came a moment in time where a high tide of consciousness swept across the globe. One monument to colonisation after another was caught up in the wave and toppled. A domino effect skipped across nations reaching Barbados.
    This wave found the foundation of Nelson’s statue already weakened by decades of protest, agitation and argument. It found that the Bajan historical consciousness had matured and spread to a sufficient mass of people to apply pressure and nudge Nelson to the edge of his pedestal.
    It has also to be mentioned that the wave that toppled statues around the world did not find receptive energy everywhere. In some places colonial statues came down hard. Either the people were too eager to wait or the authorities were too slow to move on a soft removal.
    It is noteworthy that this Barbadian Government took action when none before it did, and many other Black or African governments around it have not.
    This global anti-colonial wave met only feeble resistance in Barbados.
    At least, in public that is. Only a few Barbadians who are still attached to the colonial relationship openly supported the statue. Their arguments were transparently illogical and irrelevant to the issue and so they never caught on. The greatest resistance was not really resistance but apathy. It came from those for whom the issue of Nelson’s statue is a non-issue.
    While many Bajans have developed an historical consciousness, many have not. The greatest barrier to the removal of Nelson’s statue has not been those people who have a Britishimperialist
    colonial consciousness.
    It has been from those who have an Americanist-Capitalist colonial consciousness.
    It is a brand of consciousness exemplified in the lyrics from Rap group the Lox, which state that, “ Money, power, respect; all you need in life.” This consciousness is also exemplified by the attitude and policies of US president Donald Trump. Why is president Trump so successful despite so many disturbing attributes and actions? Because in many ways he exemplifies the spirit of our age.
    There is irony in the fact that Nelson comes down right after Barbados made international headlines about the anti-black culture of its tourism product. This bolsters the argument of critics of the removal of the statue who say that it ain’t gun change nutten. They are kinda right.
    Nelson’s statue is a symbol. It is a symbol which represents and gives a clue about the consciousness of the people around it. For those who will remember that it was there, its absence should be a reminder that there is always a subtle shift in consciousness occurring. It would be foolish to think that the removal of a statue alone would make the world of difference.
    Nelson’s removal does not cause any significant change to occur. It is a indicator of change that is occurring.
    The struggle that it took to get it moved is a reminder that change does not always come easily or quickly.
