Most Vincentian have heard or read the story which says, ‘Show me a liar and I will show you, a thief’. A remarkably interesting equation really when you think hard and put it into context.

Remember the story. He knew an old Vincentian man who used to cut sugar cain in Cuba. A man called Mr Doyle. One day while talking to Mr Doyle, Mr Doyle told him “show me a man that tells lies and I will show you a thief”. That was the story he told the Nation from parliament one day.

But what I found even more interesting is that a report I read today is more informative than that story. The median estimated body‐mass index of cabinet ministers is positively correlated with conventional measures of corruption, Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index, World Bank worldwide governance indicator Control of Corruption, Index of Public Integrity. This result suggests that physical characteristics of politicians such as their body‐mass index can be used as proxy variables for political corruption when the latter is not available, for instance, at a very local level.

So, what the report says is if a politician is fat, according to statistics, they are more likely to be corrupt. If we add that information to the story we were told about liars being thieves, it must follow if a liar is also fat there is a double possibility of them being corrupt.

What an interesting correlation, so searching a little further, I discovered this.

The Berlin-based media company Business New Europe IntelliNews conducted amusing research, based on 299 facial images of 2017 cabinet ministers from the 15 post-Soviet states.

The study showed that only 10 of the former Soviet leaders had a “normal” BMI, and none were underweight.

The research revealed that the most corrupt post-Soviet states are Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The states with the highest median estimated ministers’ BMI are Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine, while the countries with the lowest median estimated ministers’ BMI are Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Georgia.

“Countries with relatively more obese cabinet ministers tend to have a relatively less overweight population. Ironically, this suggests that there might be a health benefit to the fat and grand political corruptions”, the researchers concluded.

I looked for such information specifically about the Caribbean and Americas. Before Hugo Chavez died from the Cubans medical treatment, he was as fat as a pig ready for the barbeque pit. He died fat; most people die thin unless they have a heart attack.

His whole family today are multi-millionaires. Yet before his presidency, they were all broke. His daughter today is the richest woman in the hemisphere.

Then he was replaced with Maduro who rapidly became a second for the pit. Both highly corrupt politicians.

The communists in the Americas and the Caribbean tend to be fat.

Are they all corrupt, they all tell lies, are they all thieves? Well, we know for sure these two are.

According to one Caribbean politician who is very fat indeed, the key is being a liar, to be a thief.

I put a verse into Google and found several pages’ Gonsalves said show me a liar, and I will show you a thief’.

I just read another story which I found interesting, but that is for another story on another day.

‘He killed the truth in Saint Vincent’

It appears in several publications throughout the Caribbean.

Patrick Manning said the same thing. “Show me a liar, and I will show you a thief”. https://youtu.be/phf-FnptGyA So perhaps it is true!

But before I go, I just found this which puts a doubt to the reliability of any Caribbean leader being the source of the saying, which indicates even more lies.

“Show me a Liar, and I’ll Show You A Thief” is a quote from George Herbert (1593-1633), an Anglican clergyman who wrote metaphysical poetry.

So, the original Mr Doyle story told in SVG may be a total crock of plagiaristic horses do-do, thou liar of the first magnitude.

  2. Jolly Green Giant, well written and amusing.

I think that long past contributors such as Yardbroom, Old Onion Bags, Amused Bonny Peppa, would have enjoyed that one.

The interesting bit is that a corrupt politician is actually a health benefit to the rest of us. Keeps us skinny.

Maybe we have been thinking about this the wrong way, the whole time?

  3. From his video, Dr. Andew Kauffman MD looks like a slim and trim dude. Below he explains how Boris Johnson’s plan to test the entire UK population for Covid-19 on a weekly basis by early 2021 under a plan known as “Operation Moonshot” will cause chaos because of the false positives that will occur from the PCR test.

The British Medical Journal describes Operation Moonshot:

Operation Moonshot: What do the leaked documents say?
    BMJ 2020; 370 doi: (Published 11 September 2020)

From December the plans propose increasing daily capacity to between two and four million. This would involve mass testing of all homes in local areas or whole cities when prevalence rises (430 000 tests a day), testing high contact professions such as teachers every week (100 000 a day), and testing people to allow them to enter high risk settings, such as visitors to hospital and care homes.

The plan then states that there would be “full rollout” in early 2021 to 10 million tests a day, to “enable people to return to and maintain normal life.” At this stage, weekly testing would be made available progressively to the whole population to allow people to go to high risk events by using a “digital passport” to show they have tested negative for the virus.

    Source: bmj(DOT)com/content/370/bmj.m3558

As indicated above, Operation Moonshot also includes plans to grant UK residents a digital “immunity passport” based on the results of the Covid-19 PCR tests and that immunity passport will dictate to what extent the holder is allowed to participate in community activities, visit relatives in care homes or hospitals, attend public events, travel etc. If the PCR test has even a fairly low false positive rate (which is still up for debate, Dr. Kauffman think it is likely significantly higher than the assumed projections), when you start talking of continuously testing the entire population of the UK (approx 67 million) a lot of people stand to be mightily inconvenienced.

Jolly: are you indirectly targeting the current Bajan PM? Did you correlations tell you anything about a space between the two top front teeth?

  5. So Nathan Jolly Green: Are you fat or are you thin?

@Nathan Jolly Green “Before Hugo Chavez died from the Cubans medical treatment.”

I doubt that he died from Cuban medical treatment. Mostly likely his ill health and subsequent death were both precipitated by his lifelong affluence, and his access to abundant food and drink.

  6. Or as one of my siblings remarked “you don’t see any fat people in refugee camps”

  7. @NorthernObserver October 1, 2020 5:07 PM “Did you correlations tell you anything about a space between the two top front teeth?”

The space between the two front teeth is common but not universal among people of recent African descent.

It signifies nothing, except that we are are of recent African descent. But you already knew that even before we opened our mouths, correct?

I’ve heard that some people thinks that it signifies sexiness, I don’t know, but since all of humanity is of recent or distant African descent, maybe it does involve some element of sexiness. Creating nearly 8 billion descendants requires a whole lot of sex.

Just my take on the matter.

    @SS
my comment had nothing to do with recent or past ancestry. I was not aware that it was specific, or occurred more in any specific group.
Rather, it is associated in some places with persons who have difficulty with the whole tooth, sorry I meant the whole truth.
The orthodontic methods available these days, shows as economic means rise, the space between the teeth shrink?

  9. If Trump has it Joe Biden would need a test too. All that barking Trump was doing would have propelled his breath much further than normal.

    What a ting!

  10. Uh-oh! Wrong blog!

  11. @NorthernObserver October 1, 2020 11:21 PM. “I was not aware that it was specific, or occurred more in any specific group.”

My response: And I was never aware that it had anything to do with telling lies.NEVER heard this.

@NorthernObserver October 1, 2020 11:21 PM. The orthodontic methods available these days, shows as economic means rise, the space between the teeth shrink?

My response: Some people may chose not to undergo a medical/dental procedure for something which is NOT a medical or dental problem, since it does not interfere with chewing, speaking, breathing etc.

Tobesides in my community of people it is considered sexy/attractive.

  12. In The Canterbury Tales, Geoffrey Chaucer wrote of the “gap-toothed wife of Bath”.As early as this time period, the gap between the front teeth, especially in women, was associated with lustful characteristics. Thus, the implication in describing “the gap-toothed wife of Bath” is that she is a middle-aged woman with insatiable lust. This has no scientific basis, but it has been a common premise in folklore since the Middle Ages.

In Ghana, Namibia and Nigeria, diastemata are regarded as being attractive and a sign of fertility, and some people have even had them created through cosmetic dentistry.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Well now I am aware I should be careful how I approach middle aged ladies with ‘gap teeth’. Or maybe I should suggest the little lady get “gapped”… lol
Maybe the gapped truth is not an everyday thing, but certainly not uncommon, when referring to either sex (or even the newer sexual identifiers).

  14. It is Time to Flatten the Fear of COVID
by Homer Lim, MD (A doctor in the Philippines)

At present, our hospitals accept only COVID patients or emergency cases; most patients have avoided being hospitalized. The reason is, once hospitalized, visitors are not allowed, and doctors and nurses are their only contact. This preference might be strange to most readers, but in the Philippines, when patients are hospitalized we have always had a family or friend present at all times. So this is a culture shock to say the least, to be alone in a hospital bed, much more if it is during this horrible COVID pandemic.

I have done teleconsults for at-home patients with mild symptoms or none, as well as some moderately severe cases. I think it is important to treat the entire household, not just the person diagnosed with COVID. I have generally prescribed Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ, 200mg BID for 5 days), Azithromycin (500mg OD for 5-7days), 3000mg vitamin C, 5000 IU vitamin D3, and 50mg zinc, together with dilute oral hydrogen peroxide.

And I’ve found that patients, especially those who are over 60, typically with cough, pneumonia, and low oxygen saturation, improve within 24 hours. I have directly treated over 100 patients with this protocol. How many hospitalized? One, because she started treatment too late. I also know that this protocol has been used by other MDs here to treat over 300 patients.

One month ago, I was approached by Dr. J. Lopez, a colleague who has also been prescribing HCQ, about telling our colleagues our experiences treating patients as outpatients. Of course, I said “Yes.” Then 2 weeks ago, a group of people from all walks of life — mothers, naturopaths, doctors, businessmen, media and economists –came together to try to tell to the government that there might be a better way to handle the pandemic, not just the customary lockdown. We called ourselves Concerned Doctors and Citizens of the Philippines or (CDCph).

We are held together by a common goal, to ease the lockdowns and improve patients’ outcomes with prophylaxis and early treatment.

COVID-19: Efficient Protection of Contacts is Simpler than Imagined/
    by Professor Felix I. D. Konotey-Ahulu, et al *

    Extract:
Dr. John Stone, with more experience about vaccine effects than most doctors, said “We still do not know enough about the safety of the many prospective vaccine products.” [6]

Sarah Caddy: “The road to successful vaccine licensure is treacherous …and any safe and effective vaccine against COVID-19 still stands at over a year.” [7] How soon will licensing arrive to allow use of the vaccine to save front line health workers?

Alan Cunningham: Experts not so sure about a vaccine. [8]

Dr Bruce Gellin: “The foundation that underpins vaccination acceptance is trust.” [9].

We Africans have never forgotten what Diddier Fassin and Helen Schneider revealed: that Parliamentarians in South Africa rejoiced when Africans died from AIDS. [10,11]. Indeed, trust, more than science, is what we Africans require with requests for mass vaccinations. [12].

    SNIP

A famous phrase advises “Follow the Science”, but one scientific study says hydroxychloroquine (HQC) is fantastic for treating COVID-19 [16], while another says hydroxychloroquine is no good [17,18]. WHO says “Good” then “Bad” [19,20] France says “Non!”

Science can be ignored or dismissed with a phrase like “there is no evidence” even when evidence is overwhelming. [21] Why ignore vitamin C as a destroyer of coronavirus and other viruses when evidence is overwhelming? [22-30]. Liposomal vitamin C also delivers big doses and is effective. The only caution required is exclusion of those with G6PD Deficiency [31]. Americans are flocking to purchase Vitamin C.

Where Does Hydrogen Peroxide come in?
Dilute hydrogen peroxide can help to destroy invading viruses, bacteria and fungi. [3] We have suggested deployment of hydrogen peroxide as an oral cleansing agent to destroy the virus. [3] None of our clinical research team members and their relatives, protecting themselves only with face masks while caring for COVID-19 patients, who used hydrogen peroxide, have had symptoms suggestive of the disease. At the Shai Osudoku District Hospital in Dodowa, seven members of staff with minimal protective clothing who cared for a COVID-19 patient and who used hydrogen peroxide mouthwash, did not contract the disease. Previously, 27 other staff at that hospital had become infected caring for COVID-19 patients. Dr Richard Cheng’s success with Vitamin C is published and known to the WHO, NIH, and CDC [32-34]. To augment the effect of vitamin C, We use nasal drops containing 0.5% hydrogen peroxide and reduce the risk of infecting healthcare workers.

Note that some US holistic practitioners (including MDs) recommend nebulizing hydrogen peroxide at the first signs of a viral infection.

How Nebulized Peroxide Helps Against Respiratory Infections

Analysis by Dr. Joseph Mercola Fact Checked

    STORY AT-A-GLANCE
Hydrogen peroxide sits inside and outside cells of your cells in low levels, ready and waiting to be generated in greater amounts as soon as a pathogen is detected by your immune system

Nebulizing hydrogen peroxide into your sinuses, throat and lungs is a simple, straightforward way to augment your body’s natural expression of hydrogen peroxide to combat infections

In addition to having direct viricidal effects, iodine improves white blood cell function and thyroid hormone production. This provides a metabolic boost to white blood cells to increase hydrogen peroxide antimicrobial properties which is one way your immune system works to kill pathogens

Vitamin C also increases hydrogen peroxide production when used at high doses, while vitamin A helps modulate your immune system

Buy a desktop nebulizer and stock food-grade hydrogen peroxide, Lugol’s iodine and some saline. That way, you have everything you need and can begin treatment at home at the first signs of a respiratory infection

  15. Trump in danger—the test, the experimental drugs

    Oct 3, 2020

    by Jon Rappoport

UPDATE 1: Trump flown to Walter Reed Hospital. Watch out for toxic antiviral drugs; e.g, remdesivir. And ventilators (lethal). This is a field day for Biden, and also for promoters of the pandemic and all the regulations. For example—“everyone must get tested.” Trump is made into the poster boy for COVID-19 propaganda. “The PRESIDENT has it.” No matter what happens to Trump, this is another step in the ongoing coup.

UPDATE 2: CNN reports— “Trump had a fever Friday, a source said. He has received the unapproved experimental Regeneron treatment as well as the drug remdesivir, according to the President’s physician.” NOT GOOD NEWS.

Regeneron is an experimental antibody cocktail. Typically, when the news reports use of these drugs, no mention is made of negative effects or toxicity.

The Daily Mail reports: “[In an ongoing clinical trial of Regeneron] Two patients who got the antibody cocktail drug had side effects. One of them was ‘serious,’ though it’s not clear what exactly happened to that person.”

In tests of antibody drugs, serious problems have occurred. These are characterized as “increased infection.”

Drugs.com discusses remdesivir: “[the drug] has not been approved to treat coronavirus or COVID-19. It is not yet known if remdesivir is an effective treatment for any condition. The FDA has authorized emergency use of remdesivir only in people with COVID-19 who are in a hospital. You must remain under the care of a doctor while receiving remdesivir.”

    SNIP

Trump doesn’t have “severe COVID-19.” So why is he being given remdesivir at all—especially given all the adverse effects of the drug?

Plus: NO ONE HAS EVER STUDIED THE EFFECTS OF COMBINING REGENERON AND REMDESIVIR—THE TWO DRUGS TRUMP IS TAKING. The doctors are playing god with the president’s life.
