There are many words and phrases that we commonly use that originate in the Bible.
For example, the word “sincere” which is found in 1Peter 2:2 to describe “the milk of the word,” is a transliteration of two Latin words “sine” (without) and “cere” (wax.)
In days of old, when charlatan potters would gloss over their impaired pottery with wax before they tried to sell them, more honest potters who sold perfect pottery, advertised their ware as “sine cere”.
Today, we will state the etymology of the word “scapegoat” and exegete the passage in the Bible where this word occurs, and the passage where such a goat was used in a ceremony, and explain the significance of the passage, sincerely (“sine” (without) and cere (wax.)

    Where do the stories originate ? From the geological formation or from man’s mind.? That is his interpretation pf the artifact based on a mental construct …a model?

    The scientist in the clip has watched what happened after Mount St. Helens eruption and used it to show that it doesn’t take millions or billions of years for something like the Grand Canyon to be carved out.

    He has talked with geologists who show him the evidence of the cataclysmic event that is evident in the layers of sediment of the Grand Canyon.

    Then with biologists, with botanists with paleontologists etc about what they see in their field.

    All agree a cataclysmic event occurred.

    They all agree that there is not enough time for evolution and that what is shown to them in the earth is the result of a remarkable design.

    The stories literally come from listening to the earth and the fishes, just like it says in the Bible!!

    I am not saying which stories are credible. The point I am making is that the model which he started off with is the Genesis model and he located the strata into that theoretical framework. In other words he started with a preferred premise. And we all do. That is how the human mind works. I find it interesting that all ancient cultures have a story of the flood. Even Gilgamesh and The Cehtral American Cultures of the Aztec.

    DISPERSAL OF FOLK AFTER THE CONFUSION OF TONGUES AT BABEL.
    WHAT IS SO DIFFICULT?
    All ancient cultures SHOULD have a story of the flood, BUT IT IS VERY TRUE THAT “the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them”(2 Corinthians 4:4).

    Are you conceding, again, that dinosaurs existed for millions of years and could not have been part of your Biblical six-day creation story in some mythical Garden of Eden set in the floodplains of Mesopotamia?

    How did the dinosaurs get from the Garden of Eden to the continent of South America? By hitching a ride on Noah’s Ark?

    Stop believing in children’s bedtime stories.

    You do not believe in European fairy tales, so why those tall tales plagiarized by Jewish story writers from other more ‘advanced’ cultures while exiled in Babylonia.

    You ought to have erected a statue to King Cyrus instead of Lord Nelson.
