Many of the Old Testament prophets make reference to this momentous period of time. Some use the terms “the day” or “the great day” or “that day”, but all by this expression strongly relate to God’s rule of the earth and therefore to His sovereign purpose for world history and specific events within that history.

The Day of the Lord refers to God’s special interventions into the course of world events to judge His enemies, accomplish His purpose for history, and thereby demonstrate that He is the sovereign God of the universe. Diligent perusal of the pages of the Promises of God reveal that references to the Day of the Lord occur seventy-five times in the Old Testament. This phrase became such an understandable subject of the Old Testament that by the time of Zechariah, one of the last of the prophets, he could use the term “in that day” and it was understood that he meant the Day of the Lord.

This phrase had definite connotations and was the great theme of the writings of the Old Testament prophets, who related it to the future kingdom promised in the Old Testament, and connected it with the coming of Christ as it relates to the setting up of this kingdom. The expression “the day of the Lord” clearly has an end-time (eschatological) meaning.

    Time and days

    In my humble opinion the day of the coming of the Lord started with the creation
    Several scriptures in the bible states a thousand years is likened to one day in God’s eyes
    Jesus also place an asterisk next to the Sabbath declaring the Sabbath was not made for man but man for the Sabbath
    Only God the creator knows the exact day and time of the begining and ending of his creation
    The Sabbath as we know it was indoctrinated by the religious leaders of that time by their choosing
    God in his infinite wisdom did not name the days of any week but left that decision to individuals to choose what day pleases them to worship God

    the topic does not mention the sabbath at all
    the sabbath was an institution in the dispensation of law for the Jews
    the topic addresses
    1- the Lord’s day or the first day of the week
    2 – the day of Christ
    3 – the day of the Lord
    (n)ever learning and never coming to the knowledge of the truth

    Yes the article did make mention of the Sabbath
    Wherby in some areas the writer tried to explain or point out the difference between the day of the Lord and the Lords day through scriptural interpretations
    Maybe u should read the article in its entirity

    Here is an excerpt from the article that deals with the Sabbath

    There are people who wrongly associate the expression “the Lord’s
    day” with Sunday or even with the Sabbath. Nowhere in the Bible
    is Sunday described as “the day of the Lord,” but always as “the
    first day of the week.” (cf. Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:2; Luke 24:1;
    John 20:1, 19; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2). “We must
    recognize there is a great deal of difference between the day of
    the Lord and the Lord’s day. Sunday is the Lord’s day, for it
    was the day when our Lord arose from the grave

    ALL ONE CAN DO IS KEEP ON PRAYING SIR.

    BUT I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN—ALL PEOPLE WHO SEEK GOD’S FACE HAVE THAT PROBLEM

    ONE OF MY SCHOOL TEACHERS AT HC – A PRIEST- USED TO SAY THAT GOD ANSWERS PRAYER BY SAYING EITHER YES, NO OR WAIT!

    I CAN NOT POSIT A BIBLICALLY CONSISTENT RESPONSE.

    ONE SCRIPTURE SAYS, THAT GOD DOES NOT ANSWER BECAUSE WE ASK AMISS OR FOR THE WRONG THINGS.

    IT MIGHT BE COOL TO SEE IF ONE CAN FIND A BETTER ANSWER IN A TOPICAL TEXT THAT EXAMINES ALL OF THE BIBLE TEXTS ON THE QUESTION OF UNANSWERED PRAYER

    If God does not answer or respond to pray
    Why did Jesus prayed in the garden before his crucifixion and why is the Lords pray given as an example as to how should pray

    A prayer is a request the answer to which is yes or no. So in a manner of speaking they are always answered. Some of us in our ignorance believe the response must always be positive.God ,our heavenly Father, always knows best what we need.

    ACTUALLY, THERE ARE EPISODES IN THE BIBLE WHEN THE ANSWER WAS INDEED IN SOME CASES WAIT
    c;f Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

    The bible records many cases where men had to wait for their prayers to be answered….think of Joseph, Abrham, Isaac Hannah, Anna etc

    Consider the prayer in which direction is sought as in “Given the specific situation, Lord what am I to do?” I try to rely on Philippians 4.

    Such Death gives us who take the offer, Eternal Access to God The Father.

    As a make-believe Christian your Lord’s day is the day of the week appointed by Constantine on which to pay your Pagan rites and tithes to the tax collecting outlet.

    You are just regurgitating bullshit read from some Jewish fairy tale which Uncle Remus would enjoy putting into song.

    Aren’t Chinese and Indians also products of “God’s creation”?

    Which Solar day of the manmade week do Chinese consider to be their “Lords’ day” 星期日 ??
